  • Did I really need this hub phone (possible return)

    Newbie here.
    New to BT as well.
Happy with the service so far but feel I have a hub phone that wasn't explained to me properly when I ordered it. I thought it was a 'normal' landline phone that just plugged into the hub.
I've recently been told that it has a different number to my landline(which I don't have) and is VOIP only.
If I already have a landline package, why wasn't I told this phone would be superflous to my needs and can I return it for a refund?
All advice gratefully received - especially if I'm talking rubbish!

  • What do i have to do to get my phone to play music through my car when i plug it in, what do i have to do to get my phone to play music through my car when i plug it in

hpw do i get my phone to play my music through my car when i plug it in?

When you plug it into the aux port?
Go to the Music app, select what you want and hit play. The stereo should be set to aux. If you have bluetooth in your car, you may need to press the icon on the phone to select the output. Audio out goes to the last connected device. If your bluetooth doesn't connect until after you plug into the aux port, it will try to stream via bluetooth if your system supports A2DP.

Didn't know whether to put this in here, or ordinary BT Phone area, so please forgive me if its in the wrong one
My Home Hub Phone has stopped working, doesn't ring when dialled, i cannot dial out from it, it appears in the manager as connected/registered.
    Have tried the following things....
    switching phone on and off
    deleting and re-registering phone
    restarting whole Home Hub
all done, and phone re-registered on system afterwards, but nothing.
Even when i dial a number on it, then go to hit the green button to send the number, it wont even attempt to dial.

Garfield - I have just noticed there is a reset facility on the menu/settings /option 9.
There is a handset settings reset or full reset. Might be worth trying the full reset if you cant get the cover off

How do  I get my phone to play on Apple TV?

Make sur you are using airplay, if you have an ethernet cable connected, it will disable airplay. I have crackle on my iphone, and i wouldn't work because I had temporarily pluggedin the ethernet cable. Also check that you have
home sharing turned on and wi-fi enabled on your phone. I hope that helps.

song works fine in itunes but when i transfer it to my phone it playes back brocken and begins to skip. any solutions??
I have already restored my phone to the newest software and also completely uninstalled itunes and re downloaded it.

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
If you have gone through ALL the above steps and are still having problems, then you'll need to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation.

  • Main/hub-phone interference?

I set up BT Broadband a year ago and it works perfectly.
Recently I decided to activate the additional phone line, and plugged a phone into the hub socket. Again, it works perfectly,
    BUT
all incoming calls on the main phone also cause the hub phone to ring. As long as no one picks up the hub phone, the main phone works exactly as normally. The hub phone otherwise works as intended - I can dial out, and it receives incoming calls without ringing the main phone.
I had intended using the additional line as an independent phone in the granny annexe, but this is obviously going to be useless because of this interaction between the two lines.
I have tried several different phones, all modern, and it makes no difference. I have also tried several different filters, both the one that came with the kit, and others.

Try here it should let you set up what rings when but I find the hub still shows main calls as missed even though it dont ring and the main may ring with the hub all seems a bit daft to me

  • Problems with BT Home Hub Phone 2.1 help!

I've been having problems with my Hub phone 2.1 handset for weeks now. A catalougue of woes: 1. It doesn't ring properly with incoming calls- It starts to ring but then there's a horrible highpitched feedback noise and then the handset resets itself. Impossible for people to reach me. I have to call everyone back. 2. It doesn't charge properly. It makes the "bleep" noise when placed on the cradle but stops charging after a few moments. Sometimes it makes the bleep at random times. Often the phone has been on the charging cradle all night but will cut out during a 5 minute call because the battery is flat as a pancake! Which leads to... 3. The phone will cut out at random times during a call (even if the battery is showing full). There's the horrible feedback noise and the phone resets itself again. This happens whenever I use speaker phone too. The Hub and handset are less than two years old and broadband and all the rest of it seem absolutley fine. It's just the handset. Any advice please? Thanks! )

Change the rechargeable batteries, sometimes they don`t last very long, their capacity reduces and there is not enough power to operate the handset properly.
Try to find ones with a higher capacity, as they do seem to work much better. I have four hub phones, and the original batteries lasted about a year. The replacements I fitted are fine.

  • Using hub phone without BT

    Hi All,
I recently left BT to go to another supplier for BB and phone line.
Since the switch last week i have still been able to use my hub phone as a landline but the date and time have reset to 12am/year 2000.  I have tried to login to the hub to try and get an update but the page wont load...possible because i'm no longer a customer? Is there another way?
I also seem to still have a BT wireless connection...i thought everything would be deactivated when i left BT?
Im just a bit confused with all this!
    Solved!

It works as a land line because that is what it is now remember when it was a hubphone you could select to use your land line by dialling 5 all that has now happened is it defaults to land line as you no longer have a bt internet connection as to the wireless part do you mean FON or as a wireless network around your home if the latter then a wireless network works on its own with out an internet connection

  • HH2 - how to disable DECT hub phone signal?

I have just been upgraded to BT Infinity broadband, which I agreed to mainly because it worked out as  a better deal than my current calling plan with two lines. The extra speed is great, I have no problems with that at all. What I do have a problem with is the microwave emissions of the Home Hub 2.0.
You can call me old-fashioned, call me paranoid, in fact call me what you like; but I'm one of those electrically-sensitive folk who happen to believe that having a microwave transmitter in the home is bad for your health. I have a perfectly good wired LAN serving two desktops and an occasional laptop, and I have perfectly functional landline phones. I do not need and most certainly do not want any wireless in my home.
When I accepted the offer, I specifically stated that I did not want the hub to be emitting any form of microwaves, and was assured that the default option for Infinity was to have all wireless disabled on the Hub so it shouldn't be a problem. This is not the case. I've only had it two days and already I have headaches from it. I also have a meter so I can detect the emission levels from it, and they are well above the recommended levels adopted by many other European countries (but not the UK).
I have disabled Wi-Fi on the hub (that was easy); I have opted out of BT Fon so I shouldn't be getting that either. Yet the hub is still emitting a DECT signal, which I can only assume is for the hub phone that I don't have. The engineers who installed the system were most helpful, and even called their boss about this. He said that it was possible to disable the DECT as well, but that I would need assistance from technical support to delve into the inner workings of the hub software. I subsequently spent three hours on the phone to various technical support staff - albeit most of that time was spent on hold - but nobody it seems could provide an answer to this.
CAn anyone here help with this question? Or if it's not possible to disable the hub microwaves, is there an alternative router that could be used?
I'm hoping one of the tech gurus on here will be able to help with this, otherwise I'll be calling customer services and asking for my old ADSL service back.

I'm sorry if this sounds unsympathetic, but you are describing an irrational anxiety symptom rather than any real and apparent physical hazard. You speak of your belief - I'll confine my comments to facts.
There are NO reputable studies showing ANY definite correlation between ill health and "Microwaves" (as you put it). On the other hand, there is considerable scientific evidence pointing to suggestability as the source of claimed  symptoms such as "Headaches caused by microwave radiation". For the record, the term "Microwaves" is just a loose description of radio waves in a certain frequency band. There is nothing magical or sinister about this.
The whole "Microwaves are bad for you" scare was whipped up by a small group of malicious and self- interested writers in the USA about 30 years or so ago. It was they who dreamed up the pernicious term "Electrosmog". Their propaganda was seized upon by the anti-technology lobby and cynically exploited to gain support amongst the technologically bewildered. You may yearn for a wireless free home - but you won't find that anywhere on this planet. Naturally occurring radio emissions and everyday man-made signals are with us for good.
I have some background in this - I spent many years working in radio engineering. Some of this was in an environment exposed to much higher levels of radio frequency  than you will ever encounter in a domestic situation. Neither I, nor my colleagues, nor any of the hundreds of others doing similar work suffered the symptoms you report. No headaches etc. None of us have since developed any illness which is outside the normal range of age-related ailment.
I suspect facts won't change any of your beliefs. You are free to believe what you like - but beyond a certain point, you will find it hard to get others to take these beliefs - or you - seriously.

  • BT Home Hub Phone PIN Forgotten

    Hi,
I have a hub phone I bought for my Black Hub on ebay and I'm trying to register it but with no success.
I've activated Broadband Talk with BT so that side of things are all up and running with the blue light lit on the hub itself.
I'm trying to perform a full reset of the phone but it asks for a PIN - which I obviously don't have. I've used the default 0000 but it just says Not Available everytime.
Any idea whether that means a wrong PIN or is there maybe something wrong with the phone.
I'm assuming if I was able to reset the phone I could then successfully register it to my Hub.

    Hi ashthekid and welcome
ebay purchased phones may be faulty, plus the default pin is 0000.
Try taking the batteries out for at least 10 mins, then re-insert them.
    Does it now work?
