Hub3 Portforward

I have the Hub3 with 11.5MB download speed and 1.2MB upload speed, my son complains about lagging on games like Call Of Duty and Fifa on the Xbox, will portforward help abit?

Which version of the home hub 3 do you have, A or B? (look underneath)
Does he connect using a wireless connection, as that will introduce quite a bit of delay.

  • How do I portforward an Airport Extreme on a Windows 7 PC?

I know this has been asked before but ever solution I have tried has failed. Basically I have a windows 7 PC and want to portforward to host games such as minecraft and terraria. The only problem is that I am connected via ethernet to my modem and cannot connect through wifi to the router. I have tried conencting my PC to the LAN ports on the airport, but Airport Utility still cannot detect it.
I have looked at portforwarding on my Mac so it hosts but when I am mapping a port, the private ip is 192.168.1.x while my PC is 192.168.0.x and Airport Utility will not let me delete the one and change it to a zero.
I am at a loss for what to do. Should I sell my airport and get a new router that will simplify portforwarding via ethernet?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you already have the router feature disabled on the Cisco, it would be in bridge mode. In this case you can still configure port forwarding/mapping on the AEBS.
Please see the following AirPort User Tip for details on using the AirPort Utility to configure an AirPort for port mapping. Note: Although the instructions are OS X-centric, version 5.x for Windows is nearly identical and the setup would be similar.

  • Hub3 and Inf.2 - I had to use workaround to connec...

Engineer installed Infinity 2 and was up and running no problem with wired connection.  Super fast :-)
When we tried to connect a wireless device it would not connect and engineer advised disconnecting all the wired connections (I have 4 RJ45 connections to TV, playstations etc).  Disconnected wired connections and wireless connections could be made no problem.  This seems an issue to me and not right but it worked and I was happy as only need to do this once and get all my wireless devices connected!  Then reconnected wired devices and all worked well.  BUT.  Took wireless device out of range - went to the shops with my iPad - when I returned it did not connect and will not connect.  Same for iMac and Blackberry phone.  If I have to unplug wired devices every time to reconnect this is a big problem.  Has anyone else had this problem and got a solution?  Thanks.

sounds like a faulty hub3 to me. Mine never had these problems and my laptop, printer and phone connected wirelessly fine with everything else connected via ethernet.
I have switched to a Cisco linksys e2500 as I find the homehub 3 very unreliable in general using wireless.

  • I am unable to get my BT Home Hub3 to turn-on the ...

    Hello,
I am aware that this is a user to user forum.
I after many calls from BT sales team succumbed to their request to move my phone calls & broadband with BT.
I have been with Pipex using their speedtouch router [provided by the Pipex]. It is connected through Ethernet to my desktop computer that  has Win Ultimate x64 OS for the last 4 years without any problem.
I passed on the MAC Code to BT 2weeks ago for this trouble free transition in anticipation. BT issued me with an order number for the transition and a letter arrived few days later from BT informing my activation date for the Broadband - BT Total Broadband Option 1 as on the 22 Mar 2011.
My BT Home Hub3 arrived yesterday - 22 Mar 2011.
I attempted to connect my Home Hub3 last night and again this morning with no avail.
On each attemt to connect the "power" "wireless" light turn blue but the "broadband light flash orange and then purple and orange for few minutes and finally red.
I tried to troubleshoot through the Hub Manager but the "broadband"light firmly remain red. [This indicates Broadband is active but not through BT I presume]
When I disconnect the BT Home Hub and connect Pipex issued speedtouch router the broadband becomes accessible and I am able to post this message to this form for help.
I phoned BT to India after 25 minutes listening music, the polite lady has cut my line off without any resolution.
    Can any-one help me?
    Regards

  • Portforwarding 3389 requests for more than one pc

I have 2 computers that I want to acces through internet using Remote desktop.
On my WRT54G I have forwarded port 3389 to internal ip 10.0.0.100.
for the second pc I thought of using port 3390 external to ip 10.0.0.99 3389 internal.
I have done so on other routers before, by using portforwarding 3390 to ip 10.0.0.99 port 3389 but how do I set this on this router?
    Could someone help me out?

In the Port range forward I have set external request for Remote destop being port 3389 to be forwarded to my desktop pc #1 with static IP 10.0.0.100.
Now I have a second desktop with static IP 10.0.0.99 that I also want to use externally. But all 3389 requests are set to go to pc #1.
How do you arrange that I can use pc#2 externally? In other routers I saw, there was the option to set for example external request for port 3390 to internal 10.0.0.99 port 3389.
So when I want to use my pc#1 through internet I use remote desktop to my home ipadres. When I want to use my home pc#2 I enter my home ipadres 122.123.123.123:3390 (ipadress is fake
Do you understand my problem? In the port triggering settings I can't set the internal ipadress to forward it to

  • Portforwarding through a shared internet connection.

So, I share internet from my Macbook's wifi to my Windows tower via ethernet. My question is, how do I portforward to my tower from my router. My router only accepts the last digit of the IP while my thrid digit is different in my tower. My router gives out the IP's 192.168.123.XXX (I know, 123 is weird, but it's fine) but my tower has the ip 192.168.2.XXX. As you can see they are different, and as I said before, my router only lets me input the 4th and last digit to directions.
So, back to my question, how do I portforward?

normal traffic uses http on port 80 by default
encrypted traffic using https is on port 443 by default
there are some sites that use different ports, but if you open 443 it should be ok for most
if you enable "personal web sharing" on the firewall tab it'll open those ports
non-default port numbers can be seen in the url, for instance...
    http://www.port.com:8080/
...means http for this site is on port 8080 instead of port 80

  • Cannot connect 4-port switch to hub3

Hi, recently had infinity installed and we are absolutely impressed with it and speeds in excess of 75down which is fantastic!
So the setup we have is the router downstairs, and an ethernet going from that to the 4-port switch which was all set up for us by the engineer.
What I wanted to do however, was to plug another 4-port switch (a white 'PEAK' branded wifi switch) into one of the 4 ports of the hub3 in order to increase the capacity up to 7 ethernet sockets.
This setup worked fine when we was with sky over on the old DSL line where the 4-port swtich simply went into skys netgear switch and worked automatic.
However, since switching to bt infinity, for whatever reason, this white switch will not work with BT's hub3.  By plugging a computer into the white switch, i can access the actual routers setup page by typing in 192.168.1.254, and can access all the settings.  The following settings come up...
    INTERNET: Connection Method - DHCP
    Internet IP Address: 192.168.1.67
    LAN: IP Address 192.168.1.254
    LAN: Network Mask 255.255.255.0
    LAN DHCP Server: ON
But like I say, the switch, which has got a cable coming from one of the HUB3's 4 ports into my old white PEAK routers INTERNET port, will not allow my old switch to access the internet.
So im really confused.  Why will my old switch not work on the BT Infinity HUB3?

Thanks for both your replies.  I read them earlier in the day, and been trying a few things out...
1st, I tried plugging the hub3 into lan4 on the peak switch, and the other 2 (sky and roku), along with my laptop for testing purposes into 1, 2 and 3, and all worked great!
Well... all wasnt so great, the connection was sporadic and intermittent, ping was low, and throughput was fast, but it was on and off.  A speedtest.net would stall, web links sometimes took 2 or 3 clicks, and so on.
So what have I learnt?  Well, the fact that it has an internet port (which I was wrongly trying to use before), means that it isnt a basic switch.
So today, I went and bought http://www.tp-link.dk/products/details/?model=TL-SF1005D.  Plugged that in the same way, and everything works perfect!
So now, I have the router (downstairs), plugged into the hub3 (upstairs via existing ethernet run throuth the stairs), 3 ports plugged into 2 pc's and 1 youview box, the 4th into a powerline socket upstairs,, with the other powerline socket plugged in downstairs behind the TV, connecting to the tp-link switch socket 5, with the sky+HD and Roku XL plugged into 1 and 2 on the switch respectively, and after testing I now everything running lightening fast with HD on demand, and the world is good
So thanks for both your advice, i learnt a bit today.

  • Portforwarding for IP Camera

    Hello!
I have recently purchased an IP Camera (Apexis) and installed it in my apartment. However, I still did not manage to set it up on my iPhone (using the Apexis iPhone app) so that I can connect to the Ip Camera while outside.
It seems that I need to set up the portforwarding on my router (Time Capsule). I have tried to follow the instructions from different websites but still did not succeed.
Did anyone face the same probelem and managed to solve? Can anyone help?
    Thank you.
    You

The camera provides a Manufacturer DDNS (h9114.apexisip.com), is this a dyndns?
Now my camera is connected via wireless and within the local network I can see the imanges.
The IP address I use is: http://10.0.1.5:85
That's what I tried to set up on my TC.
    Other screen shots required?
    These are from the camera:

  • Portforwarding refuses to work.

I have a lynksys wrt54g wireless router connected to DSL modem and no matter what I do my applications continue to complain that they are firewalled. Online port forwarding tests also fail.
I have set up a static IP on my PC and set up the router to forward on the ports needed.
I'm confident all settings are correct to the best of my knowledge and one application actually worked temporarily. Even though I still have the same IP and port it no longer works.
I've read several tutorials on static IP and portforwarding and am convinced somthing strange is happening.
    Any advice appreciated.

I have the exact same problem.
I verified that my IP address in the suggested test is the same as what the router shows.

  • RV042 portforwarding question

    Hi everybody,
    I have simple question:
I plan to buy RV042, cause I want to manage 2 WAN (PPPoE, cable) in load balancing mode and I have recently bought similar devices, they doesn't work correctly. So, I want to ensure with some experienced owner of this router: does portforwarding work OK with 2 WAN?
Some of similar routers, the allow only <WAN1>:22 => <sshserver>:22 or <WAN2>..., but not both at the same time.
Additional question: can I configure outgoing services, by port definition, handled by concrette WAN? (and the rest in load balancing model)
I have tried fingout these information in user guide, but these screenshots are tiny to read something usefull from theme.
    Thanks a lot.
    J.C.

    "Hi Aaron,
To  clarify, the 172 subnet of the Vendor is located at the same site as  the Main office?  Or is there another VPN tunnel between the Main Office  and the Vendor?
If  there is another physical location for the Vendor, is configuring  another IPSec VPN tunnel from the Remote Office and the Vendor?  Or is  what your trying to accomplish to go through the Remote Office to Main  Office VPN, then through the Main Office to Vendor Office VPN?
If you could provide a diagram, that would be great.
    Thanks!
    Dave"
-The vendor's subnet is at their location (not sure where they are located).  We have two VPN connections on that RV04: the one to the remote location and the one for the vendor.  I thought about configuring another connection to just connect the remote location up to the vendor, but they are trying to get us off of that and go to a t1 line (which may solve my problem).
But yes, what I was trying to accomplish was:
    Remote-> (VPN) -> Main Office -> (VPN) -> Vendor
I talked to a friend of mine and he said I would have to setup hair pinning on that and he didnt think that it was possible on the RV042.  I did a little checking on it and I don't think that it's possible either (but I could be wrong).  I checked into connecting up the second WAN interface on the RV042 but we are out of public addresses.  What I thought about doing is setting the vpn connection from the remote site to the main office to use WAN2 so that it wouldn't be hair pinning, but there are no more addresses.

  • May be wrong forum but how do I portforward?

Okay so I have netgear and my laptop is getting NAT:Moderate and I would like to switch it to open. Now I drop sometimes that is why I want to open my port. I put the netgear router on dmz on the fios but it's still not getting opened. I even portforwarded on both the routers and its not open. The actiontec can open itself but you see I have netgear+actiontec so how do I get my ports open?

Can't advise you on how to port forward the Netgear.  Check the manufacturer's documention.
Actiontec port forward instructions can be found here:
    http://www.dslreports.com/faq/16968
    Some questions:
    Which router is primary?
If Netgear is primary, why are you even trying to port forward the Actiontec?
How are the routers connected?  LAN-to-WAN or LAN-to-LAN?
"The actiontec can open itself"  What does that mean?
How are you determining the ports are not open?  The game must be running and accepting connections for the ports to be considered open. See my response here: http://forums.verizon.com/t5/FiOS-Internet/Port-forwarding-woes/td-p/589945

  • Im having trouble portforwarding my linksys wrt54g router

ive looked at other post and one said something about on the status page of http://192.168.1.1/ it should be have the same internet ip address as on http://whatismyipaddress.com/ but mine are different... what should i do to get them to be the same for my portforwarding to work... also i have the portforwarding all set up and have tried many times to get it to work... im sure the settings for it are correct

Make sure you look for the Internet IP Address on the status tab of your router setup...If the Internet IP Address does not match with the IP Address on http://whatismyipaddress.com/ then it is highly possible that your ISP is a DSL ISP and the modem provided by your ISP is a modem/router and not just a modem...
However, the 192.168.1.1 IP Address is the default IP Address of your router...To setup Port Forwarding on your router your computer should be set to a fix ip address(When using a Linksys router, any fixed LAN IP address must be outside the DHCP server range (DHCP range is typically 192.168.1.100 thru 192.168.1.149), and it cannot end in 0, 1, or 255)...Then you can setup Port Forwarding for the Fix/Static LAN IP Address of your computer...
