HubPhone 2.1

I have a hub phone 2.1 on BT Home Hub 2.0, ver A.
The phone works OK but will not call MISSED calls. The handset freezes and no buttons work
The handset indicates missed calls and the only way to recall is to write the number down and redial.
Any help available please.

On the original home hubs there was an option to reload the software on the hub phone, but I am not sure that exists on the home hub 2.
There is some help here

  • BT Hubphone 2.1 ringtone differences ??

Got a hold a second Hubphone 2, did usual registered to hub left to charge everything fine. Can make calls fine sound quality for voice brill no grumble at all about that, but the ringtones appear a different quality between the two handsets.
So checked the version numbers and the orginal phone software V1935 i006 f007 second phone  70.037.00, ah ah differnent versions I thought but  according to BT help website they're the same , but the ringtones on the new phone are tinny in comparision to the older phone.
I am missing something, obvious I would have thought the ring tones would be the same, but V1935  version is really good quaility and louder, not tinny like the 70.037 and its not just ringtone volume that makes them sound so different.
Not a problem happy enough just baffled as to why the quality is so different?
    regards
    baz

    Has this issue been resolved?
Our phone has the same problem. We've stored 14 contacts, memory is at just 9%.
When saving a new contact, the phone confirms the process -- but the new number is missing.
Several of our stored numbers do not come up in the contact list and seem to have been deleted. The names of these contacts are  not shown on a missed call.
But when you dial a number which we previously saved (but which is now no longer on the contacts list), the name is displayed. So it must be stored somewhere.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

  • Hubphones not ringing

I have the latest HomeHub and three Hubphones. My BB is working normally apart from the fact that none of my Hubphones ring in response to incoming calls (BB or landline) and in spite of the hub setting being correct for both to activate a ring. Landline phones ring normally and the hubphones are obviously receiving the calls, which then show up as "missed call".
Having accessed technical support and been told that I need a new hubphone I cannot see how that will solve the problem of nohubphones ringing.
I am also told by BT that there is a (unspecified) fault on my line although I have no other problems.
Not surprisingly I am feeling pretty frustrated and fed up!

    Hi Clandon,
    Welcome to the forum.
Not to sure what is going on here.  Did BT give any more information on the fault that was found on your line?  Anyway I would be happy to look into this for you.
Please drop me an email to [email protected], include your BT account details and the link to this post.  Once I have your details I will run some checks.

  • Can some one help me please

I have recently moved homes and now when i go to make calls from my hub phone i have a lady telling me that it is not possible to make calls from this number!! The land line works fine so is this something to do with the broadband number or do i have to do something with the handset or hub? Also before i moved i did have trouble withthe hub phone not ringing or showing when someone was calling, it just displayed that someone had called, is anyone else having these problems?

Ensure that when you make a call from your hubphone that you dial the full number including the code (01xxx etc ) and not just the number.
Also do you have the handet light lit on your HH, if not you may have to re-register it here https://service.btbroadbandvoice.bt.com/bbv/online/consumerConfig

  • What bit of "Please don't phone me" doesn't BT get...

What bit of "Please don't phone me" doesn't BT get?
I have experienced a cataloge of corrosponce with BT dealing with the bad broadband speed issues that I have had on my connection since last november. Too long to list here see the link below
    Terrible broadband speed
Its fair to say that individual BT operators and advisors have been courtious and have tried to be helpfull most of the time but...BT have failed to find a long term fix for my issues.
The last month up until yesterday I was lucky enough to experience a wopping and reasonable steady 1.5 mbps...wow! Seriously it was fantasic! Compared to a miserable 0.3mbps or worse. I felt I was getting what I was paying for! Then the bill came in (and was wrong yet again!)! and coincidently? the speed returned to its former low!
Without baffling the humble user with scientific terminology, it turns out the problem is caused by line noise - not of my own making! Well, I noticed that incoming calls on the landline telephone were knocking my broadband out, after a while I made the desision to dissconnect the phone because of the issues with calls knocking my speed down. I imformed as many of my familly and friends not to call me on my phone and use my cell instead. However I can't stop random incoming calls, which sends the blue lights on my hub to flickering orange. This in turn equates to the stupid adsl2 software that BT use, knocking down my profile and hence speed!
When are BT going to get to grips with their stiffling system that takes up to ten days to recallibrate itself?
Their old system used to work fine at this rural address, quickly reasserting itself if there was a line knockout or interference - which is common in rural locations. Now it seems in order for BT to advertise super fast speeds to most that can benefit from it who live within a couple miles of the exchange. The rest of us that don't, have to suffer for the sake of this new adsl2 system. Its a shambles and at times heartbreaking and BT still expect us to pay the same as anyone else!
Dont be fooled. If you live in a rural location or more than two miles from the exchange, the chances are that if you are experiencing loss of BB speeds recently, whence before you had a reasonable service. Its down to the new BT adsl2 system they have brought in. Its not your fault, don't let the customer support advisors tell you otherwise! At least thats my experience!
The new system is more sensitive to noise, true it may be marginally faster, but as it turns out at what cost?
I have had a dozen engineers who have come round and each remarkably have "found and fixed the problem" then I get a reasonable speed for a few days before it drops again as of yet I have not had a pernament fix!
The loss of speed issues have led to a series of 'knock on effects' including my wireless BB BT mobile going beserk leading to a £260.00 bill for one month!
#Being charged £40.00 for Broadband phone calls I did not make - I had to call in the police for the theft of phone calls made before BT would take me seriously - they said there was no record and that it was impossible to hack BT broadband phones! In the end they found a 'mistake' but it was a **bleep** of a fight to get them to admit that!
Even after that, they cut me off (for non payment of these calls) and are now trying to charge me a reconnection fee!
Also I am paying for an 'unlimited' broadband package and broadband anywhere - which is a complete joke because I am lucky if I can get broadband anywhere at all!I know I really need to sort this out - but there is no one dpartment it seems that can deal with it all
After my BT Broadband Anywhere phone freaked out (Down to issues related to my BT hub losing connections - I ended up asking BT Mobile to dissconect my gprs for fear of it happening again - even though I was paying for the 'unlimited 'gprs service) and the 'stolen' BB phone issues, I dissconected my wireless completely!
So NO BB on my BT mobile, on average I am lucky if I get a week a month on maybe 1mbps, the other three weeks on 0.3mpps on my home broadband.
The trouble is that I am so sick and tired of being pushed from department to department and repeating myself on a weekly or even daily basis. I can never get one individual who can deal with all my problems in one go, #I am absolutely fatigued with it all.
Going somewhere else is not an option I am imformed where I live.
I have written letters to the customer service department and they have phoned me back and said things often at times when I am off-guard , so its hard to remember the details.
Now my policy is to have everything put in writing.
Despite using BT's 'contact us' form to report the latest speed issues and ticking the box that says
"respond by email" and stating "Please don't phone me" as well on my message body....I get a series of phone calls! Both on my mobile number and on my landline!
No comprehensible message returned as requested by email but phone calls from polite and friendly Indian help advisors...and guess what?   The calls the BT staff have made on my landline, has knocked my profile down even further!
Even though I headed my message with "Please do not phone me on my landline phone number"
    How ignorant is that?
I have even asked for my landline calls to be diverted, but that costs £5.00 pm - I don't see why I should have to pay for this.
What I would like is for one BT person who can sort out All of these problems for me
(That'l be technical department, security department, billing department, sales department, customer service department and more and then back again - I hav'nt got the stomach or time for being pushed from pillar to post!)
    - but from BT that is probablly asking too much!
I fell I have had so many problems with the BT Broadband service, with the time I have spent trying to get things sorted, BT should be paying me! And  they should take a good hard look at how their system works!
Bt have a **bleep** cheek to charge me £150.00 per quarter for all this!
My father pays £96.00 for this same service, gets 8.00mbpsm, can use his landline and hubphone, can use his wireless, plus BT vision as well - How fair is this?
I think its time for Ofcom

It would be Otello and not Ofcom but in my experience they are very much in the pocket of BT (not least since they are funded by the telcom companies).

  • Intermittent broadband, phone interference - and t...

Hi, i have constant problems with my phone and a broadband connection that comes and goes. BT say broadband is picking up interference from my phones. There is no underground cable connection to my house. My phone and broadband come via overhead telephone wire. I have one computer connected via ethernet cable to hub. My hub and hubphone are connected to a dsl filter which is plugged in to socket on wall in living room. I also have one phone connected to dsl filter and plugged into socket in bedroom. I have a third phone connected to socket in study, this does not have a dsl filter. Tried unplugging this one so now study socket no longer in use but same problems still persist. What I can't seem to make anyone at BT understand is that I have three main sockets, I'm sure this is part of the problem.
When I moved here 7 yrs ago there was one main socket (in study). I asked for an engineer to fit broadband. He replaced cable to house with thicker cable. I also asked for extensions to be fitted in living room for PC and bedroom for phone. Instead of running cables inside house from main socket in study, he fitted two new cables to box under the eaves on outside wall of house. These two extra cables run down the outside wall, one goes to bedroom window, thru window frame into bedroom and into a main socket on bedroom wall. the other goes down outside wall of house to living room window, thru window frame into living room and into a main socket on living room wall.
Could having three main sockets be cause of problems? Have put up with this for 7 years now, its getting worse each year, at peak times I lose my connection every few minutes, or I cannot get connected at all. If the phone rings when I'm on the computer I am guaranteed to lose either my broadband connection or the phone will go dead. It can't cope with both!
    Any suggestions?

  • Total Broadband Option 3 how to cancel it all?

I have today requested, received and used my MAC code so that I can move broadband providers, only reason for move is that my usage is increasing majorly with 3 kids at home.
Question 1: Will the "Broadband Talk" which is obviously linked to my broadband account automatically stop when the migration is complete? (I pay an extra £5 a month on my broadband bill to have free calls on the hubphone), obviously dont want to pay for something i can't use.
Question 2: Will the "ToGo" phone (which is on a different account number) also automatically cancel when my migration is complete? I have never used the ToGo phone from day 1 never wanted it but was given it with a new hub upon recontracting last time.
I've phoned BT till i am blue in the face to cancel the ToGo handset account and i'm at a loss as no one seems to know, one person says it will automatically go with the broadband and then another says it will stay i have to cancel seperate etc...
Can anyone please shed any light on to this and/or a mod kindly take a look for me please?
    Thanks.

    Hi Stigfish,
Broadband Talk will be cancelled automatically as its tied into your broadband package.
Not too sure about the ToGo if its under a different account number but if you drop me an email with all your BT account details then I can double check the order if you like and make sure everything is going through ok.
    Just send to [email protected]

  • Using hub phone without BT

    Hi All,
I recently left BT to go to another supplier for BB and phone line.
Since the switch last week i have still been able to use my hub phone as a landline but the date and time have reset to 12am/year 2000.  I have tried to login to the hub to try and get an update but the page wont load...possible because i'm no longer a customer? Is there another way?
I also seem to still have a BT wireless connection...i thought everything would be deactivated when i left BT?
Im just a bit confused with all this!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It works as a land line because that is what it is now remember when it was a hubphone you could select to use your land line by dialling 5 all that has now happened is it defaults to land line as you no longer have a bt internet connection as to the wireless part do you mean FON or as a wireless network around your home if the latter then a wireless network works on its own with out an internet connection

  • Using two hub phones

Can anyone tell me if I can use two hub phones and use both phones simultaneously and talk to the one person, so there will be three phones used, the two hub phones and the other persons phones. The reason I ask is because at the minute with the dect phones we have me and my wife can both talk to my mother at the same time. Thanks for your help.

No, the hub phones will not work like that as if you make a call on hub phone 1 and then switch on hub phone 2 by doing this you will get dialtone on the second phone and not just switch into hubphone 1s call.
It is an actual feature of the hubphones to make multiple simultaneous calls, but in your situation this is not a lot of help.
You could just plug a standard cordless phone into the back of the hub that has multiple handsets, in that situation it would work just how you want.

  • Home hub stopped working

I have a BT broadband hub, the kind with an ordinary phone socket on the back for using an additional broadband line. It has worked well since installation 2 years ago, but has suddenly stopped working. Broadband and the ordinary phone work perfectly, but the hub phone has suddenly gone dead. I have: 1) checked the phone, by substitution. It works in an ordinary socket, another working phone does not work in the hub phone socket 2) I have reset the hub. All the blue lights show. 3) I have twice rung BT help, and had line tests done, and been talked through the re-setting and other procedures. It has been referred to a special team 4) If I ring the hubphone number from outside it rings a few times and then says the recipient has hung up. What is likely to be wrong? Is there anything I can do, or do I simply wait for BT to sort it out?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

BT rang last night to tell me the problem was now fixed.
    It isn't, the problem persists.
So we went through the same process yet again - resetting, blue lights, etc. She then tried to phone in on the broadband number, but nothing happened.
We had a long and fruitless conversation while she tried to explain that I had a hub phone. I explained again that it isn't a hubphone, its an ordinary phone that plugs into  socket on the back of the black hub. Nonetheless she insisted on taking its model number (Logic bog standard phone from Currys) and then said it wasn't a recognised hub phone. I explained, again that it isn't a hub phone, etc etc.
She disappeared for several minutes to consult someone, and said they will send a new hub.
192.168.1.254 doesn't work, I just get the message that the server cannot be found. So I cannot access phonehub manager.

  • BT Infinity and voice calls

    Hi,
BT have called me, sent emails and now snail mail suggesting I take up BT Infinity. My fault, I signed up as interested a long time ago.
When I read the announcements, I infer that I need the new hub and my old hub voice phones will be so much landfill.
My problem is that I do not know what I am supposed to do if I want to speak to my friends and family. The latest letter from Warren Buckley even states "as a BT Total Broadband ... customer, you may not need to pay anymore for BT Infinity - as packages start from ..."
Ok, so I can have BT Infinity at no extra cost and my handsets are useless, how do I make phone calls without buying new handsets and more importantly which handsets do I buy (at no extra cost.
If this question has been answered in simple english, please just point me too it and accept my thanks in advance.
    Yours tired and confused,
    David

Hi I have recently changed from BT broadband with HH2 with a hubphone (which I bloomin' well had to buy off eBay).
Anyhow on THIS POST I wrote.-
So on BT broadband I had.-
1.5Mb broadband with 10Gb download cap per month. Anytime UK landline calls.
For £16 + £13.90 line rental. Total £29.90 per month.
    And with Infinity I have.-
37Mb broadband with 40Gb download cap per month. Anytime UK landline calls.
    For £18 + £4.75 + £13.90 Line rental. Total £36.65.
I'm actually paying £35.35p per month with the paperless billing discount.
Approximately an increase from £30 per month to £36 per month.
Therefore for roughly an extra £1.50 per week I get Infinitely faster broadband...lol with an additional 30GB download allowance.
I felt that was worth it, and am very pleased..... so far.
I have ditched the Hub phone and bought a second hand pair of cordless phones off ebay BT Freestyle 750 for £11.
    That included the pp.
They are very good phones and have caller i/d which I have never had before.
So I am very pleased with the new set up and with the uplift to my Infinity option 1 for anytime UK calls I don't miss my hub phone at all.

  • Is it worth upgrading the BT home hub to the lates...

i have a bt version 1.5 home hub is there any advantage to going to the  latest HUB and if so how do you go about geting one?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

At the risk of repeating myself, don't bother to upgrade to the latest HH unless you can get it for free (and even then its not always a good move).
Go to that well-know internet sales site and get yourself a 2-Wire 2700HGV which is the hub issued to Business users on BT. Its very stable, hangs on to a long line very well, and you can use your BBVoice connection (albeit not with a BT HubPhone).
Just make sure that you get one that has not been "cracked" for use on non-BT services as it will not work on BT.

  • Receiving calls via BT Homehub2

I have today installed a BT homehub2 to work as a router for my computers' connection to the internet.
I have a hub phone, also provided by BT, and it can make outgoing calls.  Does anyone know if these cost me anything?
Is it capable of receiving incoming calls, and what number do people need to dial in order to ring my homehub phone (or have I missed the point!).
Finally, do BT provide any (training) support for broadband phones - do they have a contact number or email address?
    Thanks.  Andrew Mozley

Just to confirm you have the Broadband talk facility on your homehub, you will need to check the status of the light on your HH, it's the fourth one down (marked with a handset).
If this is blue you would have BB talk, this is VOIP (voice over internet protocol) You would be provided another telephone number for this, could either be a geographical number (same as you area code, 01234 etc) or it could be a 056XXXX number.
The best way to find out either way would be to call your mobile phone from this line and check what number is displayed.
More details and pricing check the BT.com website Here
Calls are normally cheaper via BBtalk and you will prob have the free evening and weekend package.
PS. To switch from a BB talk call and a normal landline call you will need to dial a 5 on your hubphone, you can tell when it's switched as there is a different dialtone.
You can also setup what rings in your house when people call your BBtalk number, check in the homehub setup.
No training, just info on the BBtalk website

  • BT business hub any good ??

I'm looking for a new router one that you can change your own noise margin is this a good choice does anyone else have this router.??

    jjgraphics wrote:
The 2700HGV is very good at hanging on to a poor or long line with a high attenuation and in my experience almost always lowers the noise margin and consequently ups the sync and profile quite significantly.
    Typically on my line (49.3dB) . . . HH2: Sync 4250, Profile 3500 . . .  2700HGV: Sync 5696, Profile 5000.
You cannot change the noise margin manually on this router AFAIK.
BB Voice works fine with the 2700HGV, too. You cannot use the HubPhone, but a wired or wireless phone plugged into the router's phone socket via the supplied adaptor does the business.
If you buy one from that well-known internet sales site, make sure you don't get one that has been "cracked" to work with non-BT ISPs as it will not work with BT.

  • Searching for hub

Just over a week ago, I returned to BT Internet from another provider and have the 2.0 hub. I recently purchased, from a well known online auction house, a BT 2.1 hubphone which had been connected by the previous owner for one day only. I have spent the last day trying to get it to connect, but the only message I can receive is "searching for hub" and it will not register, All four lights are working solidly and if I plug in a corded phone to the hub, it works well. I have tried switching all off and rebooting, and pressing the wireless association button and find handset buttons on the side of the hub all to no avail. Any ideas on how I can get the hub phone to work. Mnay Thanks

    Ooo err
Being as the phone light is lit on the hub, you MUST of asked for BBT (broadband talk)
and BT forgot to send you a brand new hub phone out.
I'd be on the phone to them, to ask why no phone was sent out
