HUGE Bug With ITunes

I already posted this message in the ITunes Forum and I'm posting it here also. I just can't play any of the stuff that I bought in years. It is much more then frustrating. Could be a hardware problem, so I'm posting this message here also. Thanks in advance.
Hi. I have bought a brand new Macbook Pro and was already listening for my music and watching my videos bought at ITunes store as usual. Then, this week, my computer stopped playing all my protected stuff. It asks for authorization at ITunes Store, I authorize it, the ITunes says it is ok with a dialog window, in my account settings I see that there is one more machine authorized and when I try to play my stuff again... it asks for authorization. Just before that happened, I heard a weird sound wile playing brand new songs from ITunes Store. Then I had a system crash. Everything freeze. I restarted the computer by pressing for some seconds the power button (that was the only way) and my computer was never more able to play protected stuff.
I've reinstalled my ITunes and QT and did not work
I restarted my computer as another user and did not work.
I bought one new song to see if the problem was with my media and did not work.
I've tested my media in another computer and it works.
I'm pending to think that is a hardware problem... don't know. Is there is anybody out there who nows what is happening and how to solve it, please help.
PS: the guys from Itunes Store support were very correct. They even gave me a redownload of my stuff, even when I asked then not to do it because the problem was clearly another. I mean it. They were nice, but never saw this bug before and that made me more worried.

What I was also going to say about this is that it certainly appears that itunes is referencing albums to sync based on relative position in the list of aperture album items. Obviously there is a better way to do this, such as name referencing. I'm sure this wouldn't be too hard to fix.

I did that and nothing changed half my songs still have examination marks beside them
I also just tried dragging my folder of music int he playlist and it duplicated all of my songs? My playlist was at 5k now it's at 10k becuz of 3 duplicates of songs. Is there a way to delete multiple duplicate files?

Possible bug with iTunes 11 ?? (with Smart Playlists)

Hi folks
New to Apple Support, but after upgrading to iTunes 11 earlier today (on my Mac Mini) I've discovered a potential bug / difference in the way it operates compared to earlier versions. Can someone else try something similar and see if they get the same result - I think I read somewhere that v11 is not available on Windows yet, so I cant compare what happens there
I've imported all our CD's into iTunes, and we've set up several Smart Playlists (SP). Using the Rating setting for the songs, we can break them up into groups, eg
Rating 0 = not yet processed
Rating 1 = not interested in listening to again
Rating 2 = kids songs (for our children)
Rating 3 = christmas songs
Rating 4 = songs i like, but my wife probably wouldnt
Rating 5 = songs we both like - good for background music etc
Using Home Sharing to our iPad's rocks !!
Now, onto the bug.
Using the SP that has just songs with Rating 0, I could play any song, set the Rating to whatever, and naturally once set, that disappears from the SP
In all earlier versions of iTunes, playback would continue with the next song, so I could set that Rating, etc etc. Worked really well to churn through a chunk of songs in say 15 minute blocks
With iTunes v11, playback stops as soon as I set the Rating.
How can you help ?????????? Set up a smart playlist with whatever criteria you like - make sure you have a number of songs returned and ensure Live Updating is set, have a song playing, and make that song no longer valid for that SP. Anyone doing this in earlier versions of iTunes should have the next song begin, and if this is a bug, then those using iTunes 11 will have playback stop
Sorry for the long post, but in order to determine a potential bug, you need to describe the situation and how to test it.

PS I'm on a 2010 Mac Mini with OSX v10.7.x (whatever the current release of that is) and just upgraded to iTunes 11

Soo, maybe it isnt possible bug, but the way Apple have changed iTunes when going to v11. Stooopid
Anyway, found this link about downgrading to an earlier version. I've just completed it and found one or two "errors" in the method, which I'll detail below

In the latter part of the instructions
11) Open your iTunes Music Folder.
If you never moved your iTunes folder it’s located here:
Your HD/Your User/Music/iTunes
Or go to the Finder type: Command + Shift + G
Paste this into the the dialog: ~/Music/iTunes
If you moved it to another hard drive, you will know where to locate your iTunes folder.
12) Open the “Previous iTunes Libraries” folder.
13) Find the most recent copy of the “iTunes Library 2012-xx-xx.itl” file.
Normally it will the last file at the bottom of the list.
14) Drag a copy of the file into the iTunes folder.
15) Delete the “iTunes Library” file.
16) Change the name of the “iTunes Library 2012-xx-xx.itl” to ”iTunes Library” with no .itl extension.
In #11, I simply went to "My HD"/Users/"My User"/Music/iTunes
Copied the latest .itl and moved it up a directory level
The old file in #15 is called "iTunes Library.itl" - which I renamed, and renamed the copied version back to "iTunes Library.itl" = though I do have extensions showing, some people may not and hence wont see the .itl
Anyway all is fixed in my world, and when I launched v10.7, it asked me if I wanted to upgrade to v11 - I said No and not to prompt me again. Playcount issue is resulved, as is changing SmartList criteria with playback continuing
Apple - please correct these bugs before releasing any new versions of iTunes... you've made a very large number of people unhappy

Huge Bugs with Many Legs Still Living in Premiere Pro - (Border from Sharpening & Flickering from Adjustment Layer)

I haven't edited video in awhile. While working on a new project I've run into a bunch of what I suppose are well known issues in Premiere Pro CC 2014. It seems Adobe has know about these issues for some time, but that for some reason, nothing is being done about them. Here is my most recent experience with editing a video using PP:
1. Found that color correction tools in Premiere Pro for setting White Balance Suck for folks who don't edit video 8 hours a day.
Searched on web to find solution find that Adobe has no fix but random humans have found hack solution: White Balance in Premiere Pro CC on Vimeo
The dude shows you how to use the Cyroce Color Neutralizer plugin from After Effects - but sure enough the current version of the plugin that ships with AE CC 2014 doesn't work with premiere any more so you have to download the old version from dude's website here: http://www.sternfx.com/tutorials/136

2. Found out that adding an Adjustment layer can cause flickering in footage.
Searched on web to find solution find that Adobe has no fix but random humans have found hack solution: PP CC 2014 - adjustment layers flickering problem : Adobe Premiere Pro AND Re: image flickering from adjustment layer
Added mask to control flickering. More specifically, I turned each effect in the adjustment layer on and off until I found the particular effect that was causing the flickering. Then I created a mask in that effect which covered the entire frame. Mystically the flickering disappeared. Learned that if you make any changes to adjustment layer effects, flickering will return and you have to delete/recreate the mask once again. Ridiculous.
3. Thought all was good and that I could now peacefully continue to finish my project. I was wrong. Found that adding sharpening in adjustment layer causes a small border to form around the entire frame. The pixels seem faded or translucent or something.
Searched on web to find solution find that Adobe has no fix but random humans have found hack solution: Sharpening bug Premiere Pro - - Fourmedia
So now I've learned that the sharpening effect needs to go on it's own adjustment layer. Awesome.
Flickering returns because I made a change to adjustment layer 1. Re-mask. Sweet.
That's it. Pretty sure this post will help folks out, but man I am going to run out and give another NLE a shot. None of these operations should be this difficult. Makes me wonder if Adobe even attempts to use their own programs. I don't see how anyone could possibly let a huge tool like Premiere Pro suffer from these issues -- and for so long a period of time. Absolutely ridiculous. Adobe truly seems to be asleep at the wheel. This is some amateur crap here.

Does anybody have a current status on all the bugs with iTunes 10.5.2 and Windows 7?

I guess that fact that iTunes isn't even available as a drop down kind of answers my question!

Most of the info on the web page you link to is 2-4 years old. I doubt it applies. Your workaround is actually the best solution: It's always preferred to use the latest PDF viewer. Reader and Acrobat can exist on the same machine.
Also, why 10.1.2? There have been 6 releases since then with documented security enhancements (meaning there are also published vulnerabilities which are patched), bug fixesm, and feature enhancments.
I'll ping some folks about the error you are getting. . .

2 HUGE Issues with iTunes Match that I am having...

Okay, so I have now had iTunes Match for one week and am having two MAJOR issues which I cannot seem to sort out. Apple is at least investigating the first, but unless anybody here has any suggestions I am out of luck on the second for now...
Issue # 1: Literally every song that was uploaded to iCloud because it could not be matched is freezing when attempting to download them to my iDevices (all high-quality to begin with, encoded at 256kbps AAC "iTunes Plus quality)
Say, for example, I wish to download an entire album. It will download each song one by one, but whenever it is finalizing the download on an uploaded song, the little progress wheel stops at about 11 o'clock. It then stays in that position and skips to the next song, repeating this process any time it hits an uploaded track. The end result is a partial album where I can play any songs downloaded from Apple's matched selection, and a whole bunch of progress wheels next to my songs I had to upload. I have tried deleting my iCloud and iTunes library, and then re-adding the entire collection, with no luck whatsoever
Issue # 2: Not quite a technical glitch like above, but rather a playback experience issue due to the fact that Apple likely has many different versions of the same album from country to country. Any matched Gapless albums (such as most live albums, Pink Floyd's discography, etc) end up skipping even though they are the Apple downloaded (matched) versions straight across the album. The volume also seems to vary from track to track as they skip, leading me to believe that it must pull the songs at random from one of likely many albums spread across Apple's worldwide iTunes stores. This is likely due in part to the fact that many albums have varying distributors across the world, resulting in a different set of AAC files for each distributor's release of the album. I'd like to say that the problem is isolated to one or two albums, but pretty much my entire collection suffers on at least a few songs
Any thoughts, opinions, suggestions or commiserators out there on these two problems???

Reading this, I assume you mean they were imported into iTunes, then AAC copies were made and the originals deleted. If this is not how you produced the AAC versions, I may know at least part of the answer.
iTunes Match will allow some flavors of AAC to be matched/uploaded, but the uploaded files will not play. If they are part of an album where some songs were matched, when it comes time for them to play, playback will either stall, or skip forward until a matched track comes up.
I know this through personal experience. I identified two encoders that I used in Audacity to create AAC files that Apple let through, but simply would not play. My fix was to delete the offending files from my iTunes library and from the cloud, re-import to iTunes, make new AAC copies within iTunes, then start up iTunes match again. The new files uploaded and played just fine.

N8 Mail client huge bug with hotmail mailbox

I just want to remote a bug to Nokia software support ASAP.
On the mail client, when a hotmail mailbox if configured.
When creating or answering to a mail:
- all acute accent are remplaced by "?"
- subject of the mail is remplaced by "? ??? ? ...."
- all word wrap are missing.
Does this problem happens any other user ?
Does Nokia Software care knows about this issue ?

Well, I discovered that the option "my name" of the email app on the Nokia N8 does not take over the windows live services profile name .
So now with this new 2011 version(unified nickname and user name), if we have fanzy name in WLM, with special caracters, it sent or reply to email with this same fanzy name, whatever we write in the option "my name" of the Nokia N8 email app.
On my ovi email setup (on Nokia N8) the option "my name" perfectly works, it takes over the usual one. BUT not with Hotmail account ! So be aware of that.

HUGE Problems with iTunes 7

Besides the fact that that OSX in the meanwhile looks almost like Windoof (each application has got its own interpretation of Aqua... looks absolutely AWFULL in my opinion), the software´s got more and more problems.
The videos on my G5 run jerky as if my machine wasn´t powered by 2 G5 Processors but an old Motorola 68400...
APPLE APPLE... who´s develloping your software? Microsoft???

Are you still having problems, I thought it sounded as though you had resolved the issue by a restore.
I'm not sure where you are, this morning could very well be before last night at infinite loop, or indeed there are a couple more reasons the update may not have shown itself to you.
A couple of points worth thinking about;
7.3.1 and 7.3.2 had similar issues for a handful of people, your experience may well be related.
There is a difference between the tv listed under devices and the tv listed in preferences. The tv listing under devices will only appear when the tv is actually connected to that library, the one in prefs shows which and how many tv's have been linked to the library, it will stay in there even if you totally remove the tv itself.
Obviously I'd never say never, but I don't see how an itunes update can interfere with the tv's connection to the network, to the itunes library-yes, but not the network, clearly this seems to be the case in your instance but it does seem rather strange.

Huge problems with iTunes -can anyone help?

I have a iBook G4 and a first-generation iPod. I purchased 2 lengthy audio books from the iTunes store and synchronized them to my iPod.
When the books play on the iPod, the sound is garbled. It is like 2 voices are interposed, one on top of another. This problem does not manifest when the audio book is played on the mac.
I can't burn the audio books to a CD, because each section is over an hour long, and iTunes won't let me. Basically, I'm running into a DRM problem of some kind, and Apple support refuses to answer my emails.
Has anyone had this happen? Any ideas? Standard mp3 audio books work fine when synchronized with the iPod.

Hi Mike,
The Math.random() is a static method that returns a double value with a positive sign, greater than or equal to 0.0 and less than 1.0.
It does not return an array or a int. If you use the Math.random method, you will have to cast your double into an int. Also you need to create a for loop to fill your array and add code to check that the value returned from the Math.random method has not already been used.

Bug With iTunes 6 cut and paste?

I've just installed iTunes 6, when I try to cut and paste lyrics into the lyrics box, it doubles the paste (it does it twice). I'm not having this problem in any other app, and I've rebooted, and it is still happening. Very very very annoying. Has anyone else had this problem. Is there a work around? I've replicated the problem on my G5 desktop.

Yes, but that was posted before 6.0.1, and they didn't fix it in 6.0.1...
He did not say it would be in the next update (6.0.1) which cam out very quickly, but that it would be fixed in a future update. At least you know they are aware of the problem and are working on it.

Time Machine Bug with iTunes ?

On my MacPro, Time Machine does not backup the "Local" folder, inside user/music/itunes/album artwork
(i have erased the backup and relaunch Time Machine: same behavior)
(it does however backup the "download" folder which is also in the same folder)
In the "Local" folder are some artwork i have added manually.
I have checked: they are not included inside the song they relate to (the mp3 file)
So the consequence is that if i had to backup after a hard disk crash, i would loose a great number of the art covers I manually added (the ones that are currently in the Local Folder), which is ...bad
This is particularly strange, since the download folder (containing artwork from apple) is backupped

I have the same problem and my music is kept all in the iTunes folder using the default settings (i.e. iTunes keeps the folder organized). So I dont' have any songs anywhere else besides the iTunes music folder.
I don't like this thing either, since I have a LOT of album artwork manually set up for my albums and I don't want to get it manually back if I have some issues later on and I have to use Time Machine to get my computer the way it was. I remember Steve Jobs saying: "We back up EVERYTHING!" Not so, Mr. Jobs. Disappointed.

Bug/Anomaly with iTunes

Not really sure if this is the right place to ask this but I'll try anyway!
Today my iTunes (6.0.4.2) seems to have gone a little nuts. Normally when using the browser you can press a key (say, S) and it will jump to the first artist starting with the letter S. The normal behaviour when pressing the T key is that iTunes ignores any artist beginning with The and jumps to the first artist entry really beginning with T.
Today it's jumping to the first artist beginning with The. (In this case, The Arcade Fire). As you can imagine, this is really annoying as the A section is miles away from the T section.
Is it something I've done? Is it a bug with iTunes? Can I fix it because it's sending me round the twist?

I hadn't changed the language settings at all. I just tried it though (changed to french, restart itunes, change to english, restart itunes) and it's still exhibiting the same behaviour.
The only thing I did earlier was lean on the keyboard, which caused the browser to vanish. I had to make it reappear using the Edit menu... Could I have pressed some other key near that shortcut that might have caused this?

Problems with itunes 10.5 and syncing iphone (both 4S and 4)

Since upgrading my 3gs to the iphone 4s and getting the new itunes 10.5 neither my 4s or my wifes iphone 4 are seen in itunes and will not sync.
Occasionally get error messages but most of the time just nothing!
Have tried all the troubleshooting advised on apple site, plus one or two others and nothing changes.
Reinstalled countless times and again nothing changes - any advise out there???
- or can you just get it sorted and improve the bugs with iTunes 10.5 please apple

Anyone had issues with iTunes 11.0.4 like me? Keep getting initial (post upgrade) tutorial screen when going into iTune and loss of sync with 1st Gen Apple TV (infuriating as have to re-connect and re-sync everything!!!)

Following upgrade to iTunes 11.0.4 I have had intermittent but numerous (at least 10 incidents) where I go into iTunes and I am presented again with the initial (post upgrade) registration/tutorial screen....as if I have just upgraded iTunes!
This is very frustrating as apart from having to keep re-setting my preferences (e.g. display side bar and menu bar), iTunes no longer recognises my Apple TV (1st generation) as a device. If I check on my Apple TV under 'Computers' my iTunes library is displayed but 'grayed out' indicating the Apple TV can no longer 'see' my iTunes Library. To resolve, I then have to disconnect the Apple TV from my iTunes Library then reconnect again (which works) but ou've guesses it...al the music and movies I have synced across to Apple TV needs to be synced across again....which takes time as we know.
I have re-installed (and re-downloaded) iTunes twice and ruled out any connectivity issues. I suspect some form of bug with iTunes.
Anyone else experienced this and any tips to fix this?

Yes stupid itunes 11.0.4 does not sync to my Apple TV. I tried resetting it and no luck.
