Huge Download File? Why is upgrade a reinstall instead of an update?

I don't understand why every few weeks for an update to iTunes, Apple makes you completely reinstall iTunes. That's what it's doing. Just to update from one version to the next, it uninstalls it and then reinstalls it. That's why it's such a huge download. Minutes ago I updated to the latest release (7.3.2.6) by using the "Apple Software Update" program, and the download file was 56.87 MB---just to update! That's huge!!! Why can't it simply be an update (like every other program out there) instead of a reinstall?

When downloading Premiere Pro CC, in Creative Cloud, I'm getting a message:

I had the same problem on a Mac (CC update failing with a U44M1210 error.
. I just finished a chat with an Adobe specialist who walked me through the solution. So I recommend a chat to solve the problem for me (and I suspect all Mac users).
The Solution essentially this came down to the following:
Deleting the following:
OOBE and AAM Updater folders from ~/library/Application Support/Adobe
OOBE and Adobe Application Manager folders from /Library/Application Support/Adobe
Reinstalling the Adobe Application Manager.
Restarting the Creative cloud Application.

Firefox does not recongnize some downloadable file (e.g., Adobe Flash Player); instead it opens a new tab with nothing in it.

Firefox cannot download the files I want to download sometimes. For example installing Flash Player. It opens a new tab with URL "http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/mac/9.x/9.3.4/enu/AdbeRdr934_en_US_i386.pkg.zip" and title "adberdr.pkg.zip (application/zip object)" on it. It happens when I have to download some dmg or compressed files.

-> Tap ALT key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar
-> go to Help Menu -> select "Restart with Add-ons Disabled"
Firefox will close then it will open up with just basic Firefox. Now do this:
-> Update ALL your Firefox Plug-ins https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
-> go to View Menu -> Zoom -> click "Reset" -> Page Style -> select "Basic Page Style"
-> go to View Menu -> Toolbars -> unselect All Unwanted toolbars
-> go Tools Menu -> Clear Recent History -> '''Time range to clear: select EVERYTHING''' -> click Details (small arrow) button -> place Checkmarks on '''Cookies, Cache''' -> click "Clear Now"
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Content -> place Checkmarks on:
1) Block Pop-up windows 2) Load images automatically 3) Enable JavaScript
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Security -> place Checkmarks on:
1) Warn me when sites try to install add-ons 2) Block reported attack sites 3) Block reported web forgeries 4) Remember Passwords for sites
-> Click OK on Options window
-> click the Favicon (small drop down menu icon) on Firefox SearchBar (its position is on the Right side of the Address Bar) -> click "Manage Search Engines" -> select all Unwanted Search Engines and click Remove -> click OK
-> go to Tools Menu -> Add-ons -> Extensions section -> REMOVE All Unwanted/Suspicious Extensions (Add-ons) -> Restart Firefox
You can enable your Known & Trustworthy Add-ons later. Check and tell if its working.

I can´t download files with Real Player whwn I upsated Firefox.

I was told to update Firefox whichI did. After that I can´t download files with Real Player which I could before I updated.

You cannot download files to the iPad via Safari. You download them on your computer and synch them through iTunes.

Sounds like you transferred programs from another drive? This isn't a very good way to do it. Yes, re-install the Adobe apps.

If the "it" refers to a compressed (zipped) spreadsheet that you downloaded, the ".ods" extension is used by LibreOffice and probably OpenOffice (which are free versions of MS Office) for spreadsheets, which would suggest that wherever you're getting that "Excel" file from has switched to one of those programs. I've tried opening an .ods file from LibreOffice using MS Office 2013 for Windows and it does open though with a warning that some things have been changed. I don't know if Office for Mac can normally open .ods files. But if your need is to just open .ods files, take a look at LibreOffice.

I did what you said and updated FF, now the download goes to the external HDD that I specified, but now FF bugs, it freezes (not responing) :s
I reinstalled it but it doesn't fix the problem. I don't know what to do :(

Can't download files after Snow Leopard upgrade

Hello all,
yesterday I upgraded my leopard to snow leopard, since then I cannot download files with safari (also tried firefox, camino). When I click some link it looks like its going to start downloading but it doesn't. Most of the links are .dmg files. I have tried these steps so far but the problem still occurs.
1) Repair the Disk Permissions.
2) Downloaded onyx to clean the system.
3) Cleaned the safari cache and settings, as well as the plugins directory.
4) installed firefox and camino but they act the same.
5) I uninstalled iGetter (if I copy the link location and add it to iGetter I can download the file).
6) I created a new User to check if the problem was system wide or with the user account. The problem is the same in the new user account as well.
Any ideas what to try next ?

Try using your OnyX to clean the LaunchSevices caches, or use Terminal.
Launch /Utilities/Terminal and copy & paste this at the command line to rebuild LaunchServices:

You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

Why are the downloaded files unable to be extracted?

I've downloaded, or attempted to download the first app 3 times. An hour later a message stating that the files are unable to be extracted. I have Windows 7 and don't understand how interesting this thing can be if it's this hard to simply download the stuff I've already paid for. Not looking forward to Photoshop. Please help.

The downloads are huge and if you have an iffy internet connection they are probably stopping before being fully downloaded, which the extraction process can detect and give an error about.
You might try another browser or at least clear your cache on the browser you’re retrying on, so it doesn’t continue to use the partially downloaded file.
It also could be a virus-scanner or other internet-protection that is blocking access to the file once it is downloaded, so you might disable those sorts of things for the time you’re downloading, although make sure you’re download from an Adobe site, not somewhere else.

You need to define the table field type as binary and develop and RFC with one i/p parameter of binary type.
UPload:
From front end you can browse and upload the file using file upload ui element then send the binary file to the RFC input.
Download:
Get the binary format file from rfc by passing ID as parameter and download it using IWDCachedWebResource.

I am having trouble trying to open downloaded sit files since upgrading to Tiger. I saw a similiar problem while browsing the forums but it didn't solve my problem. I "got info" on the file and tried to open with the Installer in the utilities folder but it was not selectable. For some reason it defaults to my Photoshop 7.0 program. What happened to Aladdin Stuffit expander that was with the previous versions? How do I open these downloaded files since I don't have Stuffit expander?

Stuffit Expander isn't included with Tiger.
You have to download it yourself.
