Huge increase in saturation onupgrade to LR3

I have searched the forums and other sites to see if anyone else has this prob lem on upgrading from LR2 to LR3, but I cannot find anything similar.
I have upgraded to LR3 but in doing so ALL of my Library (Photos) have seen a huge increase in Saturation - mainly Red which is bordering on Pink.
This is on a Lenovo W700 with built in calibration. Anything I have tried to do hasnt worked. There seems to have been an issue with Logitech Setpoint but I updated that and eventually uninstalled it. I also downloaded LR3.2
When upgrading to LR3 on my PC nothing similar happened. I also tried to report this as a BUG but to no avail. Has anyone had similar problems and has anyone any idea how to remove this significant saturation issue
thanks

just to let you know that after a lot of further research I have temporarily resolved the huge saturation increase. It meant an awful lot of work in moving the HSL sliders to get my images back to normal. I have read a good few other items on the forums about a big magenta hue on a number of peoples images after upgrade to LR3 .. so there is an issue there .. some of the contributors were very critical of the LR3 developers and I have to say that I am pretty upset as well.. I was a very very early user of LR1 and progressed to LR2 without any difficulty. I even used the LR3 Beta for a while with no problems. I hope the LR4 developers do a better job on any future upgrade because it seems to me that there are a significant number of "real" issues with this new LR3 - there are too many questions on the Forum for the case to be otherwise. Thanks for your contribution

  • Huge increase in monthly payments AND billed for w...

I moved back to BT for calls a couple of years ago and set up a monthly payment plan to help with the cost as I'm on  a low income. In March I also signed up for BT Broadband. My payments up until then had been £45 a month, BT anytime plan ( I use about £12 a month on non-inclusive calls to mobiles)  I thought this was high  just for calls but was told this was as low as they would allow.  On checking my online account recently I discovered that the monthly payment has now increased to £81!?   I knew that adding the Broadband would increase the payment but almost double it??
This was apparently due to the way BT now bill. Fair enough but surely it's unfair to pass on such a huge increase in payments for something BT have chosen to do - and with little notice.
Anyway, long story short - I decided to allow a couple of these £81 payments to come out of my account so as to clear what was a £36 CREDIT and is now a £124 Debit, due to the changes,  and then call and ask if the payments could be reduced.
Imagine my anger when checking my bank account the other day to discover that BT had tried to debit £82 from my account for the WHOLE BILL AMOUNT! Unfortunately I did not have the money in the account and the direct debit was returned - leaving me with a £30 bank charge for a returned debit that should not have been taken in the first place. I phoned CS an was told  'sorry, our mistake'.
Where do I stand with regard to having this charge reimbursed to me? I cannot afford to lose £30 due to BT's incompetence.
Could a mod please look into this for me and let me know how I can reclaim the bank charge? And is there any chance my monthly payments could be reduced?
    Thank you.

    Hi onlythebun
I'll be happy have a look into this and see whats going on.

  • Huge increase over past few months on data usage.

Huge increase in data traffic, even at times when systems are in sleep mode - like at 6am in the morning.  For months by usage levels varied between 10Gig and 12 Gig and I would adjust my plan as needed to prevent single Gigabyte overcharges.  However, in the past 4-6 months I have had to go to 15GB then 20GB, and what we actually do internet wise has not changed any where near that much.  Yesterday I had 600 meg of data transferred at about 6am when all systems were either off or in sleep mode.  The usage tool on verizon is no help in identifying what is driving this other than broad categories.
Last night I turned off the MiFi device and there was no data recorded until I turned on at 8:30am then it recorded 800 megabytes only based on turning on the PC and not even using it.  And the hard file light was on solid for a long long time.
I really need a tool that runs on the PC that shows what program or service is doing this much internet traffic.  I have seen disk I/O using Windows Task Manager that shows a number of Chrome services actively working I/O, as well as Google sync, but there is nothing new here that I have done over the past 6 months - my usage is very consistent. And that tool does not show who is driving the MiFi load.
How can I get a handle on this?  This is getting very expensive and there is no obvious answer why.

Personally, I use BitMeter OS for my PC. Any bandwidth from your computer (down/up) is logged & you can view certain days to see when it was used.
    https://codebox.org.uk/pages/bitmeteros
Also, you may be able to view Mobile AND WiFi data usage (separate tabs) on your mobile devices, under Settings > Data Usage. Click the 3 dots for options.
I had the same issue, but it was due to Verizon Cloud backing up... all 12gb (mostly pictures I don't even care about!).
You may have that or another app that syncs data. It should tell you under Data Usage, though.
I disabled Verizon Cloud through the App Manager.
    Hope that helps!

  • Increase color saturation

I've been transferring some of my old VHS tapes into iMovie. Lots of fun, particularly on a rainy Sunday afternoon. I've noticed that prior to importing, a few of the tapes (particularly those filmed with my old VHS camcorder) don't have quite the brightness and intensity of color that newer mini-DV's are capable of. I'm wondering if there is a set of controls in iMovie where the color saturation can be increased so that the film doesn't look quite as washed out.

Even though Karsten's suggestion may help you, I recommend you download and try this plug-in:
    http://imovieplugins.com/plugs/hsv.html
It allows direct control of saturation, and allows you to increase the 'livelienss' of colors in your clip.
    Hope this helps,

  • Huge increase in speed over the past 3 months, but...

Under the recommendation of users on this forum, I have made a point of leaving my modem on and connected to my line for over 90 days. This has yielded good results. My download profile has slowly crept up from 48Mbps to 64.85Mbps, and my average download speed is around 8MB/s. I'm extremely happy with that. But one thing I cannot understand is why DLM didn't remove maximum interleaving before adding so much more bandwidth. I treasure low pings over pure bandwidth (as I am an avid gamer), so I was hoping that at some point DLM would be logical and assume that if it's worth increasing my IP profile, it's also worth lowering interleaving.
I still currently get a minimum of 31ms to bbc.co.uk and other London based servers, and I live in Greater London, only a stones throw in geographical terms. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could get interleaving dropped on my line? Or is it just another one of those "keep the modem on for another three months and wait for DLM to sort itself out" jobs?

So the mods can put you on FastPath?
Well I contacted them about a speed issue and mentioned the pings and he said maybe they could put me on FastPath if the line is stable in the future.
    Are you now on fastpath?
No, I've not requested to be as I'm still having problems with my line which another Mod is assisting me in.
Just looked at the email from the mod, I talk about a rise in the ping he mentions that interleaving was applied so I'm assuming it was on FastPath before? but he talks about removing it this meaning it turns to FastPath or am I missing something?

  • Has anyone else seen a huge increase (data loss?) in available disk space

I installed Mavericks on my Mid 2012 Air (i7, 512GB SSD) last night - all good, no problems, with the exception of fan running (as it did before).  However, before I installed it, I had 17GB remaining on the disk.  After installation, I magically had 99GB remaining.  So, I thought, maybe it was still pulling cloud sync'd data in (Mail (huge), Evernote, Dropbox), and figured I would wait until this morning before getting worried about it.  Well, now I have 113GB!! It doesnt seem to be getting larger, but I am very confused on what changed, and not sure how to even begin to understand if I lost data, or if the new OS just purged a sh*tload of cache or something from 10.8.  If I click on power, where it now tells you apps using significant power, it has Spotlight listed always. Thoughts??  Thanks in advance

I have not observed any noticeable change on my systems but given Mavericks' dramatically improved RAM memory management, it is entirely possbile that a big chunk of what you are seeing is from reduced swapfile and cache file requirements. I suspect it will take a while before many (any?) of us comprehend the full impact of the changes.

  • New Blackberry, huge increase in data usage

    Hi,
After 2 years with a Blackberry 8520, which I just used to keep track of emails and browse occasionally, I have upgraded to a Blackberry 9720.  With the 8520, my data usage each month never went above 33MB, so the advisor I saw at EE said that I could reduce the data allowance to 100MB and still have plenty.  Since having the new phone, I have been checking the data usage with an Orange app and after just 5 days, I am at 20MB used.  This is despite me uninstalling any other applications that may use data and deliberately avoiding the browser.  Even about 10 emails a day without attachments are hitting me for 2 to 3MB data usage.
Does the 9720 still use compressed data - I know the new OS10 models don't - as that is what I was told.  If it does, is there anything else it could be?  I'm now thinking that getting a new phone is going to cost me 10 times the data I used to use even if I don't use even half the functionality.
Good job I didn't throw away the 8520 as I might be resurrecting it: it may have been as basic as they come but it least it didn't cost me a fortune in out-of-bundle data...
    Rich Goodchild.

    Lots of reasons.
    The 9720 is using 3G and 4G network isn't?
Your 8520 used EDGE, not even 3G. Lots more data can move in 3G and 4G.
The 9720 is a more media savvy device, more data will be used. And it's brand new? You're using it more.

  • Sudden huge increase in project size

So I've got this problem with projects where when I go in and maybe tweak an automation parameter and save, the project size shoots thru the roof, and for instance after doing this a few times with one of my projects, it has gone from 33 MB to - I kid you not - 297 MB.
Scared to make any more changes to it now, it will be at 1GB in no time.
This is not including audio files or anything - just the project (song) file itself.
    Anyone else encountering this?

Are you maybe recording your Automation in "write" mode? Try latch/touch mode instead where only the automation is written which you are actually using on your tracks. Check your Automation event lists for redundant automation data.

  • Huge increase in CD read speed

    Hey All,
Last night while copying a CD to iTunes I noticed my drive was much louder than normal. It sounded like the spindle was noisier. I looked at the read speed of my drive and it ranged from a low of 12x to a high of 16x. I've never seen my SuperDrive record such speeds. It copied a full CD in a minute or two. My usual write speed seems to be 5-6x. Does anyone have an explanation for this? Was there an update that may have done this?
    Thanks,
    Jason

I've noticed this too on my new iMac with Pioneer superdrive. It does it on some CD's and not others. It doesn't do it all on my other iMac with Matshita superdrive. It also makes a continuous ticking sound the entire time it is importing a CD. Any ideas about what might be wrong?

  • HUGE increase in TC speed

I have had TC for about a week now and have been pretty unhappy with the speeds. I have been running in N only mode at 5GHZ and have averaged about 5MB transfer speed to the TC hard drive or to a SMB shared drive. I decided to try and change the Multicast rate from 6MB to 12MB and now I see an average transfer speed to and from other devices of about 12MB. The speed test was using Activity Monitor.

Sorry but the "wide channels" option is ONLY available if you are using 5 GHz, 802.11n only network setting in your Time Capsule/AEBS. As soon as you throttle it back to 2.4 GHz for compatibility with older standards b/g then you loose that speed. There is another option. You can set up a "dual-band" network by adding another b/g device (like an AirPort Express) running at 2.4 GHz at the same time as the Time Capsule running at 5 Ghz. This is explained (not very well) in Apples "Designing Airport Networks 10.5". Then you get full 270 Mbit/sec 802.11n for your n compatible computers and your older macs would connect to the b/g network. You would give the networks different SSID names.
Thanks Jeffrey, probably will leave it as is, I only have one n compatible machine out of 3 so probably not worth the extra setup. Even so by making my TC my base station I did my final first backup (the G4 ibook) and wow with making TC my basestation and using the new 7.3.1 firmware this backup (which I am doing as wireless since this machine is elsewhere in house) is booking unlike my first attempt with old setup and 7.3.0 firmware. It is going to finnish in 5-6 hours as opposed to several days when TC was added to my existing computer to computer network and using old firmware. So it is worth making it the basestation so I could use the 7.3.1 firmware (which could not to the old WEP my computer to computer network could only do).

  • Huge increase in disc activity and need for permissions repair

I didn't know whether to post this here or in the OsX section. I'm posting here because it started after I put in an Airport Extreme.
My hard disc seems to be working almost non-stop now, churning away in the backgound like never before. Also, I've done a "repair permissions" every day since I put it in, and the list is now massive, every time! Before I'd have about 10-20 lines, and it was done. Try again the next day and much less. Now, every day it goes on for ages, mostly repairing stuff to do with core services and Java (and quite a few Airport thingies too!).
Is it just my imagination or is the Airport doing something odd with my system?

  • In Photoshop CC (2014), Hue/Saturation adjustment layer properties disappear

I am running Photoshop CC (2014) under Windows 7 Professional.  The program is up to date.
Today, while editing an 8-bit image, I added a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer.  Then, in the properties panel for this layer, with the on-image adjustment tool selected, I clicked a color in the image to get a range of colors whose saturation I wanted to adjust.  Next, using the saturation slider in the properties panel, I increased the saturation of this range of colors. Finally, I closed the properties panel by clicking on the double arrow in the upper right corner.
Later, I wanted to modify this adjustment layer.  I double-clicked on the layer thumbnail to reopen the properties panel, and found that, although the previous increase in saturation was still operating, the saturation slider was back at its default position, and the range of colors that I had previously established was gone.  Thus, I could not make further adjustments to this range of colors.
I then did some further experimentation:  I deleted the first Hue/Saturation adjustment layer, and created a new Hue/Saturation adjustment layer. I then again established a range of colors as above, again increased the saturation of these colors, and then again closed the properties panel by clicking on the double arrow in the upper right corner.  This time, however, when I wanted to try to modify this adjustment layer, instead of double-clicking on the layer thumbnail to reopen the properties panel, I right-clicked on the layer and then clicked on "Edit adjustment..."  This opened the properties panel, which, this time, correctly showed my original adjustments -- the saturation slider showed the positive adjustment that I had previously made, and the range of colors established earlier was still shown. But then, on a hunch, I added a Curves adjustment layer above the Hue/Saturation adjustment layer.  Now, when I again opened the properties panel of the Hue/Saturation adjustment layer (by right-clicking on the layer and then clicking on "Edit adjustment..."), my previous settings were gone -- the saturation slider was at its default position and the range of colors was gone!  (But the increase in saturation was still operating.)
Thus, it appears that there is a bug in the functioning of the properties panel of the Hue/Saturation layer: In short, once you have added a further adjustment layer, you can't then go back and make changes to the properties of the Hue/Saturation layer.  I would be interested to hear if others have noticed this.  Also, is Adobe planning to address this?

OK, I am not entirely sure I have understood your post completely, but when you edit a colour range with a Hue/Sat layer, and click off and back on again, it will default to showing the RGB values, which you may not have made any adjustment to.  If you pick the previous colour from the image, or a similar colour, it _will_ show you the adjustments.  So long as your picked colour is contained within the range of the previous adjustment.
Ypu could also use the RGB drop down (actually they call it Master nowadays), and chose the colour that is closest to your previously picked colour.  I expect you are away that you can edit the colour range being operated on by dragging the four sliders on the two colour bars at the bottom of the Properties panel.
Does that make sense, or am I going in the wrong direction?
