Huge number of merge entries

HELP!!!!!
I have about 300 email contacts, today I thought I would check these using duplicated entries and found to my surpise I had about 90 duplicated entries and 474,000 merge entries, whats happening please? thanks I also have entries that I can not see, these appear in email when you type in the persons address but are not listed in the address book, is this normal or has my address book been hijacked somehow?

Not sure about the first problem but I have only 90 contacts in the Address Book and just used the look for duplicated entries function and it indicated that I have 4 duplicated entries. Doing a manual check, I found only one duplicated entry.
Do you use any sync function with the Address Book - with .Mac, Entourage, Plaxo, a cell phone, etc.?
Regarding the second problem, the Mail.app stores all message recipients in a list of Previous Recipients which is stored in the Address Book database.
At the Mail.app menu bar, go to Window and select Previous Recipients. A previous recipient already entered in the Address Book will have a vCard icon to the left of the name or email address.
You can remove a previous recipient from the list or add a previous recipient to the Address Book. Removing a previous recipient from the list has no effect on Address Book entries.

How can i organize a huge number of events?

I just began with mac and iphoto. I imported a lot of photos from windows (google picasa) in iphoto (>17000). Now I have a huge number of events, which i would like to sort by e.g. years and months. Within the years and months, the events should be placed.
Is this possible or what would you suggest to handle a lot of photos?

Assuming that you have events sorted by date (event menu ==> sort events) your events will be sorted by date & time - you can not create a substructure within events - it is a large flat set of photos
If you want a hierarchal structure use albums and folders - albums hold photos and folders hold albums or other folders - you also can use smart albums to instantly find all photos from a date or a date range - or the search window in the lower left
Events a a very basic, inflexible and pretty much automatic organization - just a starting point to hold photos
I generally merge trips into a single event and leave the other time based - others merge even more having events like 1st quarter 2010 etc

Lightroom or Photoshop Elements for administrating huge number of photos?

Dear photo experts,
at home, we have a huge number of photos we took over years. We are looking for a software able to organize all of them. We currently have:
Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 (Mac)
Adobe Lightroom 3 (Mac)
However, for organizing photos we so far use none of them but a third software (here, we are not happy about how it handles our huge catalog of photos).
Our photos are stored on a server (network attached storage), organized by date and event.
I read that Adobe Photoshop Elements cannot organize photos stored on a network drive.
Now my questions:
- Can Adobe Lightroom organize photos stored on a network drive?
- Is Adobe Lightroom capable to organize a huge amount of photos in one single catalog (separating them via tags)?
What are your experiences?

Yes, this is one of Lightroom's strengths

I use Lightroom for all of my photo management (yes, I said ALL). I never use the operating system for photo management. Lightroom works great. People here in this forum who have much larger catalogs than I do (over 1/4 million photos) also use Lightroom to manage their photos.

Document number ranges in entry view and in General Ledger view

What is the difference between Document number ranges in entry view and in General Ledger view ?
We have new GL activated in our system , and found that the GL Document types ( SA) are assigned to document number ranges in entry view . What is the need to define document number ranges in General Ledger view ?

Hi,
Document Number Range in entry view is the document numbers which are posting in your leading ledger. You cant achieve the same document number range to the general ledger view. A General ledger view can have both Leading ledger view and non leading ledger view therefore document number range should not be kept same for both ledgers as your running document number gets skipped.
That to some times you can only post documents to only Non Leading ledgers. Therefore a separate number ranges needs to be created for general ledger view

How do I delete a huge number of duplicate albums from my itunes for mac library?

I have a huge itunes music library, over 900 GB, and as it turns out I have a huge number of duplicate albums. Is there a way to automatically get rid of the duplicate albums so I am left with only one of each? If not, what is the best way to identify and remove my library's duplicate albums? Thanks!

iTunes does not have any automated way of deleting duplicates.
You can identify the duplicates by
View > Show Duplicates
or
Alt + View > Show exact Duplicates
(or if you are on windows Shift+ View > Show Exact duplicates
There is a third party tol which is free to download and then register. Although the copy I tried worked fine as a trial download

Huge number of files in the profile directory with at sign in the name

I noticed that my wife's Firefox v35 running on Windows 8.1 32bit has a huge number of files like:
cert8@2014-03-25T19;02;18.db
content-prefs@2014-01-30T21;28;58.sqlite
cookies@2014-01-08T18;12;29.sqlite
healthreport@2015-01-20T06;44;46.sqlite
permissions@2015-01-19T10;26;30.sqlite

Some files are quite new.
The original files get somehow backed up, but I cannot figure out how. My own PC does not contain such files.

Query using system parameter LEVEL returns incorrect huge number of records

We migrate our database from Oracle *9.2.0.6* to *11.2.0.1*
The query below throws "ORA-01788: CONNECT BY clause required in this query block".

Based from online resources we modified "*_allow_level_without_connect_by*" by executing the statement.
alter system set "_allow_level_without_connect_by"=true scope=spfile;
After performing the above, ORA-01788 is resolved.
The new issue is that the same query above returns *9,015,853 records in 11g* but in *9i it returns 64 records*. 9i returns the correct number of records. And the cause for 11g returning greater number of records is due to system parameter LEVEL used in the query.
Why 11g is returning an incorrect huge number of records?
Any assistance to address this is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The problem lies in th query.
Oracle LEVEL should not be used inside a subquery. After LEVEL is moved in the main query, the number of returned records is the same as in 9i.

Recording number of qRFC entries from SOLMAN

We have qRFC's inbetween ECC, SCM, XI. We have configured CCMS agent,EWA,SMD etc on these system.
Is there any way we can measure number of qRFC entris (inbound/outbound) per hour from these system with help of Solution Manager.
Is there any thing through which we can generate report for this.
I checked EWA report its showing weekly or daily total entries.

Huge number of idle connections from loopback ip on oracle RAC node

We have a 2node 11gR2(11.2.0.3) oracle RAC node. We are seeing huge number of idle connection(more than 5000 in each node) on both the nodes and increasing day by day. All the idle connections are from VIP and loopback address(127.0.0.1.47971 )
netstat -an |grep -i idle|more
127.0.0.1.47971 Idle
any insight will be helpful.
The server is suffering memory issues occasionally (once in a month).
ORA-27300: OS system dependent operation:fork failed with status: 11
ORA-27301: OS failure message: Resource temporarily unavailable

Package number in service entry

Hi
I understand package number(PACKNO) is a unique number in service entry and also this is system generated.
In my case service entry should be created automatically from a third party system.
XI gets data from third party system and will put into BAPI - BAPI_ENTRYSHEET_CREATE.
Now XI will not get package number.
Now how service entry will be created? I have not tested this.
Anybody who worked in scenarios like this then please explain me in detail how system gets package number?
Should I need to do some custom in this BAPI for this?

In the case of service package created by BAPI the packno related fields
in structure BAPIESLLC are:
PCKG_NO PACKNO      NUMC 10 0 Package number        (ESLL-PACKNO)
LINE_NO SRV_LINE_NO NUMC 10 0 Internal line number (ESLL-INTROW)
have strictly internal character. The values for them are created
internally based on the current status of number range for PACKNO
and database entries for INTROW.
The best way is to enter some default values in these fields as this
is recommended in the note:

Create huge number of IDOC

Hi All,
I am asked to create a file to IDOC scenario in PI. The problem is, the file will have around 200,000 records, 96MB. That means I have to get the 200,000 records from the file and create 200,000 PO IDOC at once. I know this is not possible. Does any one have this experience? How did you solve the problem?

Few ways to implement this.
Though the file has huge number of records, you can tweak or control the number of idocs creating at the reciever side.
Refer michal blog for edit the occurence of target idoc structure to sent the number of idocs as per the need.

if your sender side is flat file then in the content conversion you set the parameter Recordsets per message like 100 or so.. so that you create 100 idocs each time from the sender message structure. Refer SDN forum for fcc parameters and sender fcc adapter scenario.

In RZ20 (Solution Manager), I have one alert for monitoring Transactional RFC and Queued RFC --> Inbound Queues --> Number of queue entries, with this alert i look number of queue entries.
But i don´t have the alert for PI System....( not Number of queue entries)
How add this alert for PI System (PI 7.0) ?

It should be there already. Also take a look on notr 441269 and try to do a warmup on this local segment. To do this, go to RZ21 -> Context Overview -> Transactional RFC and Queued RFC -> Topology -> Reset to WARMUP status.

I can load that site no problem.
If you see Develop in the Safari menu bar (top of your screen) click Develop.
If you see any check ✔ marks, select that item one more time to deselect.
Then try that site.
If the Develop menu was not available, go to Safari > Preferences > Extensions
If there are any installed, turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
And in Safari > Preferences > Security
Make sure Enable plug-ins, and Java are enabled and deselect Bllock pop-up windows
Quit and relaunch Safari.
If installled, try temporarily disabling anti virus software.

Change the number of history entries on the Back Button

Firefox allows 15 history entries when holding the Back (or Previous) button. If I want to go to the #31 entry in the history, I have to press and hold Back many times to reach it.
I want to change that number for more entries like 50. Is it possible?

You cannot change how many are displayed in the back/forward drop down at a time.
You can change the number but not how many are displayed at a time in the dialog window.
Select the earliest entry you can on the back button (the lowest entry), and then invoke the Back button again, and go to the earliest entry.
