HUM vs. inbound delivery (or HUM vs. me)

Dear All,
Trying to pack an item in an inbound delivery (VL32N) I got this error message:
Items that are not relevant for goods movements cannot be packed
Message no. HUDIALOG111
1. The item and the packaging material has been used several times in case of outbound deliveries with packaging item generation. I'm just writing this that basic settings have been done.
2. PO created > Shipping notification entered > Inbound delivery created with reference to the PO > when I use menu > Edit > Pack I receive the above mentioned error message.
3. I checked OSS note 868762 but SAPKH60007 is not relevant. (our package number is SAPKH60011). But of course the proble may be some config...
Please give a hand in this issue.
Thanks,
Csaba

Hi,
if goods receipt is carried out within inbound delivery (with transaction vl32n), you should set the flag for 'Goods receipt relevancy' and 'GR assignment' under the confirmation control key customizing (T163G-WEREL and T163G-WEZUO).
You could also check note 199703 for more information.

  • HUM Packing Proposals in Inbound Delivery

    Hi All,
    I have the following issue.
When we receive a delivery from a vendor and we perform the inbound delivery, the delivery defaults in the purchase order quantity. As we have setup packing proposals for that vendor, when we go to the pack view the HU structure has already been created, which is Ok for complete delivery.
When we have partial deliveries and try to change the receipt quantity we get an error that HU's have already been packed.
We do not want to have to go in and unpack everything each time we do a partial deliverya s this is very common.
Is the system working this way due to an auto pack option or is this how it works with packing proposals.
I would expect that when we change the dleivery we can go in to the pack screen and ask it to pack per the delievry quantity.
    Any ideas?

A few years ago I got some help that got some Inbound delivery functionality working, but it was never put into production.
    1. Receiving storage location specified on the STO.
    2. Receiving points set up in the receiving plant: IMG > Logistics Execution > Shipping > Basic Shipping Functions > Shipping Point & Goods Receiving Point Determination > Assign Goods Receiving Points for Inbound Deliveries.
    3. On packaging material to be used the assigned packaging material group should coincide with the IMG setting of the packaging material type assigned to the packaging material group.
    4.  Assigned movement type 101 to the DIGN item category: IMG > Logistics Execution > Shipping > Basic Shipping Functions > Deliveries > Define Item Categories for Deliveries
    Other settings but not mandatory
    1.  In delivery copying control assigned source NL to target DIG: IMG > Logistics Execution > Shipping > Basic Shipping Functions > Deliveries > Copying Control > Specify Copy Control for Deliveries > Define Item Categories for Deliveries
    2.  Make packing control mandatory for item category DIGN: IMG > Logistics Execution > Shipping > Basic Shipping Functions > Deliveries > Packing > Packing Control by Item Category
    3.  HUM Required for Plant/Storage Location: IMG > Logistics General > Handling Unit Mgmt > Basics >  Technical Basics > Materials Mgmt > Inventory Mgmt > HU Requirement for Storage Locations
In our process the HU was already created in the Outbound delivery for the STO.  These HU were then copied to the Inbound delivery.  It still works in our DEV client, but it's not being used.  Hope it helps.

  • Packing material in inbound delivery - intercompagny process with SPED

    Hi,
I am processing intercompany stock transfer using SPED functionality, with automatic creation of inbound delivery.
Using HUM and WM storage location managed, I would like to add automatic packing material items in inbound delivery.
    What I did already check:
    1. there is a plant in HU (packing material type in transaction VHAR; plant determination: B).
    2. there is an item category in HU (transaction 0184; following entry: EL / "blank" / PACK / / ELP -> Inbound delivery type EL,  packing material has general item category group "blank" , then I expect item cat ELP in inbound delivery).
With these settings, automatic creation of inbound delivery does not work anymore: output SPED failed. Error message is VN056:
"Processing log for program /SPE/STO_ID_PROCESSING routine STO_ID_CREATION". When I check output analysis, it is mentioned for SPED : "Output ignored (requirement 408 not fulfilled)".
I also tried with following setting:
transaction 0184; delete previous setting; add following entry: EL / VERP / PACK / / ELP -> Inbound delivery type EL,  packing material with general item category group VERP.
In that case, automatic inbound delivery creation OK but no packing material in it.
    Any idea to help me?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Automatic Inbound Delivery Creation in HU Managed Storage Location

    Dear all...
I have created PO, packing instruction, and packing instruction determination.
Storage location was set to HU managed already.
Now I want do GR for PO (with MIGO transaction) which can create inbound delivery automatically, and also do the packing process.
    Which config/setting should I do?
    Thanks before.

    HI,
In IMG-Logistics general-HUM-Basics-MM-IM-HU req for SL and default values for deliveries
Select the plant and click Sto Loc there u can find HU ReQ, Check that HU Req Box.
If you set this indicator for a storage location, the system does not create a material document when it carries out a posting, but creates a delivery via Shipping

  • L9 528 - Material cannot be used in Inbound Delivery because QM is active

    Hi Colleagues,
So we have HUM products going into a warehouse managed location and we know that we cannot create an inbound delivery for these items if QM is active without 'HU inspection' selected in the QM inspection type of the material master
    So the question
Is there anyway round this so that we can trigger the inspection lot creation at the goods receipt posting rather than at the HU level in the packing of the inbound delivery
Does anyone know if SAP plan to support this in the future?
    Thanks
    Steve

We are not using HUM however using WM. Nonetheless, the problem persist while creating inbounds.
We are trying to use the following approach to address this problem.
uncheck 'relev. for putaway' indicator from 'ELN' item category thus enabling VL31N to by-pass the hard stop incurred due to QM activation.
SAP's reason for this hardstop is to avoid inconsistencies that may arise when TO's are created for inbound deliveries before GR is posted. This scenario does not pertain to us since TO for inbounds before GR is not applicable. Therefore, we are enabling the above configuration. By doing this, we are breaking the link between inbound delvy's and WM, and thus disabling the functionality of creating TO's referencing inbound delvy's (transactions like LT03, LT0F become irrelevant).
But, this process will not work if we implement HUM since standard SAP will not allow to create a putaway TO referencing a TR or a material document. It becomes imperative to create a TO referencing a delvy, but this configuraton will break that link hence it will not work.
    Best Regards.

  • Is it possible to create an inbound delivery with MB31

    Hi,
I would like to know if it's possible to create an inbound delivery with transaction MB31. It's a requirement of the client that all goods that come into the warehouse (HU managed) get in with an inbound delivery.
So, for the scenario of production (non HUM storage Location) to warehouse (HUM storage location) a transfer posting will be done with MB31, A inbound delivery must be created.
    I hope this is possible.
    Regards,
    Alexander

    Hi,
You can use an STO to transport stock from production to your warehouse and you can use VL31N with reference to your STO to create an inbound delivery document.
    Thanks

  • Choose the Inbound delivery type for STO process

    Hey guys,
I am struggling with this process.
For STO process we are going to use SPED output type to create the Inbound delivery automatically after O/B delivery PGI.
The thing is I do not want the I/B Delivery type to be EL. Cause we are using HUM. I want it to be HID.
I can't find where in config I can't set up the system to choose HID rather than EL.
    Does anyone have an idea?
    Cheers Guys

    Hi,
Thanks for your answer. But  what you are describing is more for PO (external purchase) not STO.
What I want is to control the I/B delivery type that get created after PGI of the O/B delivery via the output type SPED (special function).
    Cheers

  • Inbound Delivery for Subcontracting Stock

    Hello Experts,
I have some material supplied to the subcontractor via outbound delivery and material document is posted through 543 mvt type. Now, there are some quantity which is left during the subcontracting process and I want this material back to our unrestricted stock using INBOUND DELIVERY. (I can do it using MB04 without inbound delivery). Any suggestion?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Reverse teh Inbound delivery

    1) A P.Order created with 234 items, Inbound delivery created as the stock is to  be received in HUM storage Location.
    2) for 234 items Inbound delivery, HU Packing , Transfer order creation & confirmation, Goods Receipt posted done
    3) another inbound delivery created mistakenly by the user with reference to the P.O with 234 items, then HU packing done , Transfer order created and confirmed, but GR is not taking place because PO line item is with 234 item only.
    4) Now if i'm trying to reverse the document for this delivery , its not happening.
    5) I cannot cancel the HU, cant reverse the TO whcih is already completed, and cannot reverse the delivery also.
Anyone can help me in sorting out this problem. I want to reverse the Inbound delivery.

There are several OSS notes discussing related problems. You may find your answer in them. You might also try using a confirmation control key that does not have the "GR Assignment" box checked.
OSS 1225077 discusses two inbound deliveries when using 103 / 105 movement for the receipts. This note does not dicuss how to recover from the situation, though.
OSS 359247 discusses the use of transaction MBRL to create a return to vendor. This would force you to create a new inbound delivery to bring the material in again.
OSS 1373027 discusses reversal of GR in Solution step 4 and 5, depending on your scenario.
    Good Luck.

  • Inbound delivery can be deleted despite confirmed TO

    Folks,
I am facing a situation in which the inbound delivery has been deleted despite a confirmed TO. I believe deletion was only possible when TO status is "A" and not "C" (and "B").
Anyone seen this before? SAP bug?
    MZ

The WM postings are (to an extent) independant of the IM postings.
Assuming that you are not working with HUM, you can do putaway against a delivery and confirm the TO. This does not enforce you to post the GR for delivery. If you decide to delete the delivery then obviously you have to clear the negative quant in 902.
You can always do a GR regardless of whether putaway has been done or not. To achieve this, I think it is reasonable for SAP to allow deleting a delivery with pick status C.

  • Mapping for Inbound Delivery (ASN) Idoc

Can anyone post the mapping and fields needed for posting Inbound Delivery against PO using incoming IDOC from vendor.
We are not using Handling Unit Management for inbound deliveries, but still getting the error "Field EXIDV empty" Field EXIDV is for Handling Unit Number.
How to overcome this error "Field EXIDV empty".
    Thanks

    Hi,
I would check to make sure that your receiving storage location is not activated for HUM management
Normally an Inbound delivery would only request EXIDV if you were trying to post stock to a HUM managed storage location
Can you create an inbound delivery without this issue directly in SAP (via VL31N with the same IDOC data?)

  • Creation of inbound delivery without reference to a PO

    Dear gurus,
Let's say that a normal inbound flow is something like this:
PO > Create inbound delivery with reference to PO > inbound shipment > Transfer Order > Confirm Transfer Order > Post Goods Receipt > Putaway
    Issue:
My client does not want to create the PO because the PO serves no purpose to them. They want the process to start from inbound delivery.
    Question:
    1. Can a standalone inbound delivery be created WITHOUT reference to a PO ? If yes, please tell me the configuration and transaction code involved in order to create this standalone inbound delivery.
    2. Based on standard configuration, can an inbound delivery be created automatically with reference to a material document (for eg MIGO Mvt Type 501). Once again, for this scenario, no PO should be involved. If yes, please tell me the configuration and transaction code involved in order to trigger the creation of this inbound delivery (I'm not looking for the answer of an inbound delivery creation BAPI to being triggered directly after the creation of the Material Document).
    3. Based on standard configuration, can an inbound delivery be created manually with reference to a material document (for eg MIGO Mvt Type 501). Once again, for this scenario, no PO should be involved. If yes, please tell me the configuration and transaction code involved in order to create this inbound delivery.
    Thanks.

    Hi Peter,
Actually, my intention is not really to create an inbound delivery based on a goods receipt. Since my client is not keen on the idea of creating a PO, I'm actually trying to provide alternatives and workarounds. From what I have gathered, I already know this much
-> An inbound delivery must be created with reference to PO unless Handling Unit Management is activated. If Handling Unit Management is activated, the creation of a Material Document will trigger the creation of an inbound delivery (I havent tested this out yet). Therefore, a PO will not be necessary in this case.
I was kind of expecting answers along this line, unless of course, something better pops up. Maybe someone out there may know something more.
As for Handling Units, I'm not familiar with it. Hopefully somebody can give me a good configuration guideline on what to do in order to activate it so that I can simulate the scenario of a Material Document triggering the creation of an inbound delivery (I'm not looking for the kind of answers which simply cuts and pastes the SAP HELP URL, 4.6C Handling Unit PDF, Best Practice Document and etc). Hopefully somebody out there can really give me a good guideline on how to do this.
    Thanks..

  • Creation of Inbound delivery mandatory for ASN process in classic scenario?

    Dear Experts,
We are going for classic scenario for our green field SRM implementation process. Our client is not using  ASN process in their existing MM process. However, they are now looking for an oppurtunity to enable Suppliers to trigger ASN using SUS. In such case, is creation of inbound delivery from Buyer side a mandatory process?
Is the below the process correct?
PO -> ASN (Supplier using SUS) -> Inbound delivery (Optional) -> Goods Receipt (Mandatory) -> Invoicing.
Here, I understand that Goods receipt can be verified against the PO or via Inbound delivery to PO. ASN will inform the store keeper in advance about impending goods receipt and smoothen the confirmation process.
Could you please comment on the above process? Could you please suggest the best practices followed here?
    Thanks and regards,
    Ranjan
    Ranjan Sutradhar

    Hey Ranjan!,
    You are on track.
The process flow you have shown is true. ASN is available as a standard as part of the MM-SUS process. It makes the buyer aware of any delays in delivery or to make arrangements on shipping docks to receive goods on a said date etc.

  • ASN creation based on ECC inbound delivery

    Hi All,
I have a scenario in which we are creating an inbound delivery in ECC and corresponding ASN should be created in supplier system.
In order to achieve this functionality of ECC to supplier system is there any way to map this functionality through any custom development ?
    Kindly suggest
    Thanks
    Gaurav Gupta

    Hi,
What I understand from the requirement is - The Supplier dispatches the material to Purchasing company & informs about the same via ASN. This ASN triggers inbound delivery in ECC. When the material reaches the Purchasing Company, GRN is posted with reference to the Inbound Delivery.
    Is this correct?
If so, you can achieve this through RFC function, which can be called from vendor ERP system or through Vendor Portal by directly calling the RFC or by using Web Service.

    Prashant
