Husband upgraded to new computer and lost my tunes.  Help!

Husband bought me a new computer, moved all programs, files, etc. Now my ITunes has reverted to an older edition which does not include much revamping, playlist organization, and purchased tunes. We can't seem to find the more current file/folder/version. Real novices here, but would appreciate any help.
Thank you.

If he moved "all files," it would have included the purchased music. If he missed something, send him back to the old computer to copy them to an external drive (or other convenient medium) and then copy them from the drive to the new computer.

I have a new computer and lost music. I dont have a itunes backup. I have my music and downloaded music from Apple on my ipod touch. How do I put it to the new computer and then continue the normal process?

you transfer iTunes purchases to your computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
Transfer non-iTunes music by the info provided in this previous discussion:
    Best iPod to PC
After you move the stuff to the new computer let iTunes erase your iPod and replace its contents with what is now in your iTunes library.

Have you copied your content over from your old computer and onto the new on ? If not, and you still have your old computer, then there a number of methods described on this page which you can use to copy your library over : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527 . If you no longer have your old computer then have you got a backup of your content that you can copy onto the new computer and add into iTunes ?

  • I just synced my iphone to a new computer and lost all my itunes libary.  It's on the computer but not on the phone.

I justtryed to sync my iPhone with a new laptop and lost my itunes library from the phone.  I'd already moved iTunes to the laptop.  What did I do wrong, and is there a way to reclaim the library?

Was the music purchased from iTunes?
Can you sync other music to the iPod?
What happens when you try to sync?
When you switch syncing computers you have to restore the iPod on the new computer. Did you do that?
You can only sync with one computer/iTunes library but you can manage music and videos among different computers. See:

  • Synching ipod with new computer and lost music

We just got a new computer and I finally got to hook up my ipod. I tried moving my songs from the ipod into itunes and they wouldn't transfer so now I am synching the ipod with the computer; however, I seem to have lost the original songs that I had on my ipod before I downloaded the new songs. Did I really lose my songs or are they there? If they are there, how do I find them?

If you syncronised your iPod with a new and different library it will have erased your original songs. You could have a look at this post for possible solutions but there's no real guarantee you'll get anything back: Buegie - Recovering Songs

  • Re formated my computer and lost my tunes and itunes cd

Hi, my mum re formated her computer and lost my itunes. I know want to create a new iTunes but have lost the cd to set it up. I've created a new itunes through the website but cannot install smart sound and when i plug my ipod in it says I have to sync my ipod. i don't know what to do! Please help.
    Many thanks.

I'm sorry, I'm not following your response. If you mother has iTunes on her computer and you want to add your music back, you can use the article links I provided above to transfer your music from your iPod back to your mother's computer.
If you have Windows XP and internet explorer 7 you can get rid of the downloads you don't want to install by going to Start>Then right click on Internet at the top of your first column.
When the menu opens, choose Properties. On the first tab, click on Delete under Browsing History. When the next box opens Click on Delete Files next to the Temporary Internet Files box. That should clean out your temporary folder where these downloaded files are being stored.

  • I recently got a new computer and lost the email that contained my serial number.

I recently got a new computer, my old computer had all my adobe products installed on it and was backed up to an external hard drive. Consequently, I don't have my serial number that was sent to me via email, because it was lost when I lost my other computer. Is there a way I can get one resent to me?

Your serial number should be available online if you purchased from Adobe or if you purchased somewhere else and registered your product with Adobe.

  • Bought a new computer and lost my account info - HELP!

I finally got around to upgrading our computer and bought a new Vista based PC. I still have to worry about transferring my iTunes library from the old computer (any ideas on the simplest way??).
I downloaded the latest iTunes software and logged back in using my account info. But it treats me as if I were brand new. I can't find my account $ balance - and I can't find anywhere the info on downloading my pre-order of the new Maroon 5 CD.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks,

  • New computer and lost Adobe Pro

    Hello,
I bought a new computer a few months ago and kept struggling with Adobe.  Dah!  I finally realized my subscription had not been transferred to this computer.  Help!
    Sarah

    Hi Sarah,
If you have an Acrobat subscription, you can download Acrobat onto your new computer by logging in to your account at https://cloud.acrobat.com/acrobat.
Once you've downloaded and installed it, you'll just need to sign in and you'll be in business.
    Best,

  • HT203167 This is the third time asking this question! I got a new computer and lost all downloads and icloud says my apple id is valid but not for icloud how do I get my downloads back?

    I lost all my downloads

On your iTunes, Sign-in, Authorize the computer.
Then go to the iTunes Store and select "Purchased" from the Quick Links side bar on the right. Go through all the tabs to download again for free

  • Old Lr1 catalog on old imac upgraded on new computer in Lr3-no previews help!

So I took my old lr1 cataglog into Lr3.  I updgraded it and it opened with keywords and metadata intact.  However the grid is completly blank.  Did I miss something?  Is there something else I need to do in order to see and work on those photos?  I am working on a mac osx 10.6.2 if that matters.  I would so appreciate your advice!

I had a similar scare when moving my catalogue from an XP machine to Vista and back again.  When I opened it up on my XP machine all the files were grey.  If I imported new photo's they were fine, and if I went into develop the image showed up, and then was visible again in Libary.
Turned out that it was a permission issue... Not sure how they work on MAC, but make sure you or all users on your PC/Laptop have full access to the catalogue preview data folders and all files in it.  If you havn't closed Lightroom do so, and then open it up again and hopefully all your preview files will be visible!
    Good Luck!
    Steve

  • Music, photos, and apps lost after upgrading on new computer

Someone please help! I just upgraded 3G to 3.1.3 on new computer and lost all my music, photos, and apps. Is there anyway I can get them back. I backed up my phone before the upgrade, the phone was wiped clean, then retored to original settings, then it restored to back up, but I lost all the above in the process. Thanks Sheila

By design, the iPhone syncs iTunes-managed media content (music, videos, apps, photos) with _one and only one_ computer. That content was erased from the phone. The backup won't help - iTunes content is not backed up. You need to sync to the computer you synced to +prior to+ upgrading (the 'old computer'). Or, move your iTunes library, etc., from the old computer to the new computer and sync to that.
