HVDVD TS foler vs VIDEO TS folder

I'm trying to create an SD .img disc image (all the assets are SD and all settings I can find are set for SD), but DVDSP keeps creating a HVDVD TS folder.
What needs to be changed to create a standard DVD?
Thanks.

I figured out the problem. My previous project had been HD, and I must have imported assets before switching preferences back to SD first. Therefore, although I had selected SD, it only applies to new projects. After saving the templates, I started over, switched preferences first to SD, then re-imported all assets and reauthored the disc. This time it produced a standard .img with a VIDEO_TS file. Burning a with Toast produces a functional disc. Problem solved.
Thanks for the suggestion.

  • How can I turn a Video TS folder into a video DVD?

My superdrive can burn a dual-layer DVD, and I understand iDVD can handle it.
(My Video TS folder is too large to fit on an ordinary DVD.)
But I can't figure out how to burn the Video TS onto the DVD +R DL so that I end up with a DVD that can be played in a DVD player, on TV.
I don't find any info in Help or in the forums, using relevant key words.
I have an older version of Toast that can handle dual layer, but got drive errors when trying to do it with Toast.
Any hints, advice or direction to any written help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

I only have a Video TS folder, no DVD. If it is possible for Video TS folders to be copy protected, then it's possible that could be the problem. Is there an easy way to find out? No error message referenced any protections.
I can play the Video TS folder with DVD Player on the Mac, but I suppose that would be possible whether or not the folder is copy protected.
I'm cleaning up a drive I "inherited," so I could live without this "virtual DVD" if it can't be transferred to a physical DVD disk. But it would be nice to know what's going wrong.
Do you understand the error messages, and do you think it means the folder is copy protected?
    ========
Wait a sec... I suppose one solution would be to copy the folder onto a dual layer data DVD (the folder is 6.3 gigs), and then it could still be played on the computer using DVD Player, it just couldn't be played in a normal DVD player for watching on TV (right?). That would clear up the space on the drive.
But alas, even that didn't work. I tried using the Finder to burn a copy of the folder to a dual layer DVD (as just a data DVD) and got this error: "Burning the disc failed because an unexpected error occurred. (Error code 0x8002006E)"
This makes me think there's something going on besides possible copy protection... I AM able to make a copy of the folder right on the same hard drive (just tested it), so if some kind of copy protection existed, surely it would have prevented that. Since I'm able to copy it to the same drive, but not to a dual layer DVD, it must be a problem not of copy protection but somehow related to using the DVD +R DL (which my computer says my superdrive can handle). Think?

  • 7610s Animated thumbnails in Video clips folder

I got my 7610s last week and was flicking through the folders when I came to the Video clips folder and I was plesently supprised to see it had animated thumbnails for the video clips .
I then updated to the latest software form my phone model and now the thumbnails arent animated anymore - they just show a small video camera ontop of a previews picture.
Is this an option I need to turn on to get it working again or has this been removed from the latest firmware (If so, WHY !!!!)

    Fixed it!!!
Ok, here's how to do it, for future reference. I think in my case the problem was the frame rate. It was set at 24, but as per http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4025, apple likes 30fps for a 640px movie.
So, if this happens to you, run it through MPEG streamclip (it's a free download) and convert it to 30 FPS Jpeg mov files.
man, such a relief! I hope this helps others.

  • Video Podcast not in Video Podcast Folder

I download several video podcasts from iTunes, which do not show in the video podcast folder of my iPod. What can I do to change this???
Thank you for your any assistance!

Some users seem to be having issues with the latest build (10.2.2) where files are not moved/renamed after downloading. It works fine for me in a test library so I'm not quite sure what the issue is. You may find things sor themselves out if you turn off Keep iTunes Media folder organised and then turn it back agaqin (assuming you use that feature). Hopefully the next update isn't too far away.
Alternatively you can try my script ConsolidateByMoving which should move selected files that are in the "wrong" place to their standard iTunes locations.

  • FCP crashes when Video Filters folder is double clicked

I edit in FCP 5.0.4 with 2 monitors and like to keep the Video Filters folder open as a separate window along with the Effects folder. However, my custom window layout with this setting has disappeared and when I try to open Video Filters, FCP crashes. I've used FCP Rescue to no avail and have re-installed FCP software.

I am capturing to a Ciprico dual channel U320 array attached to a ATTO UL4D SCSI controller. I don't use the system for these data intensive captures all that often and sometimes I have no problem at all and other times I do. I noticed that the raw movies would play in the quicktime player ok without stalling or dropping frames so the issue seems to be with final cut. The last time I had this problem was with playing back 720p DVCProHD files and it would only play for a few minutes and then give a error message about dropping frames and suggesting lowering the number of audio tracks and changing the RT settings. I am thinking there must be a software conflict. We just installed FCP 6 and this was the first capture I did with it and had the same old problem right off the bat.

  • Adding a Video TS folder to iMovie?

I'm not sure honsetly if I have iMovie '08 or what. I think it might say iMovie HD. Anyways, in either case assuming it's the same for both, how do I get a Video_TS folder into iMovie? I took video off of a digital camcorder that writes to mini DVDs and it just came off as a Video-TS folder. I tried dragging that folder into the clips area, but it does nothing. Any ideas?

So I copied the VIDEO_TS file off of it, but can't figure out how to get it into iMovie.
Basically, you have just two options:
    1) The first is to "image" the file so that it appears to iMovie '08 as camcorder (i.e., either as camcorder mounted DVD or HDD content. In this case, iMovie will import the file using the "Import from Camera..." module which has its own MPEG-2 compression format converter which will transform the demultiplexed MPEG-2 stream to all I-frames (i.e., equivalent to motion-JPEG content) and place it in an MOV file container with the audio which is converted to AIFF along with a time code track and start and/or end offsets to reduce drift between the audio and vide tracks. Such image files can be created using Apples Disk Utility or by simply dropping the VIDeO_TS folder to the DVD Imager application icon. Mounting the image is normally interpreted by the platform as inserting a DVD into the optical drive or connecting your camcorder to the platform.
    2) The second method (and the one I most often use) is to manually convert the VOB tile sets to an iMovie '08 edit compatible compression format. I prefer this as it allows me to select both the compression format in which edit natively and the settings to be used in creating the intermediate file. In this case I normally use the MPEG Streamclip (free) conversion application but be advised that this route requires you have the QT MPEG-2 Playback component ($20) installed. However, other applications will also work here but may not allow as many output options or include as many features.
I did find out that I am using iMovie HD if that makes a difference.
It makes a difference only so far as limiting your conversion options for native editing in iMovie HD. Otherwise iMovie HD will re-convert a non=edit compatible file to the project native compression format which you should try to avoid. If you content is SD, then it is usually safest to convert to DV since all frame-level editors will accept it. If the content is HD, then AIC/AIFF is a compression format accepted by both iMovie and Final Cut video editors without specialized QT components.
I really can't believe this is such a hard question to answer!
The question is easily answered. It is more likely that responders simply got tired of answering the same question over and over and assumed you could just as easily use the search option to find the answer.

  • How to shrink a Video TS folder.

    Hi,eveyrone
this might be not exactly in the Final Cut pro topic but i think some of you might know this.
I have a video ts folder that is around 5 GB in size.Is it possible to do something with it,even if it means a loss of quality,to make it fit to a one 4.7 DVD-R?
I think i've heard of some kind of software for this.
Any help would be great.Thank you.

I think you have to re-encode it. It would be best if you had the original footage. You would just need to tinker with the bit rate to get it down to 4.7 (which is really still too big for a DVD)
Otherwise you'll have to rip the TS folder and then encode the resulting file. Also make sure to use AC3 audio. It will help keep you bit rate down allowing you to retain some quality.

Hello. I don't know if this is the right category for my problem but here it goes.
Since yesterday, I've been trying to open Windows Explorer folder (which include Documents, Pictures, Videos, Music, Downloads, Computer, Dropbox, Skydrive, etc.) and as a result my taskbar and my background crashes, the folder doesn't open and then my taskbar
and bg goes back to normal. I searched the problem in other forums but the responses are from last year and this is happening since 29/03/2014 (yesterday) so I don't know if this is a new thing or old. I called my sister because she has this same laptop and
asked her if this is happening to her also and she said it is so I'm starting to think that W8.1 needs an update. Idk :(. We have a Dell Inspiron 15 and it's brand new ! I ordered mine last month.

    Hi,
Did you make any change to your system recently? To fix this problem, firstly, you can try to use
SFC /scannow command to fix it for test.
If problem persists, just try to boot your system into Safe mode to test if this problem occures. If problem occures, It would be better to use system resotre to revert your system to a former timepoint state.
To find the reason about this problem, you can use Process Monitor
to capture Explorer.exe when open folder or library.

  • Bad Bug in iPhoto 8 exporting videos to folder

I have recently been archiving my photos by making a DVD slide show, and also including the original photos on the data portion of the DVD. I typically would make a slideshow in iPhoto, and then export all of the files in the album to a folder, which I would then put onto the DVD to access later with iDVD. I noticed in iPhoto 8 that when you choose File>Export, and select Original format, that it DOES NOT export the Videos correctly, like it had in iPhoto 6. It actually only creates a little image of the first frame. I learned this the hard way. And to top it all off, I tried to grab the files with TIME MACHINE, only to realize that you need to restore the ENTIRE iPhoto library, you cant just do a few videos. BUNK!!!
Apple Please get on top of this. Time machine is USELESS if I have to restore my entire 40 gig iPhoto library, and lose all the work I've done that day. Luckily I am craftier then you, and manually accessed the photos on the drive, which is a chore to navigate. Most people aren't as savvy. Git er Dun!

    cmelious:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. It's working correctly for me, i.e. exporting with Kind set to Original. What version of iPhoto are you at? Have you installed the latest iPhoto update as well as the iLife Support 1.1.1 update?
If you have try deleting the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder and try again.
    If that doesn't help then:
1 - create a new text library, import a couple of video and photo files and try again. If it works you library is the culprit. If it doesn't work try #2.
2 - log into another account and try from there. If you don't have another account it a good troubleshooting tool. Create a plain, non-administrative account, run iPhoto to create a new library, import a couple of video and image files and try the export. If it works then something in your primary account is the culprit and could be a damaged pref file for some other app that iPhoto uses. Here's how to check that out.
    Trouble Shooting Preferences in Leopard
1 - Create a folder titled "Preferences A" on the Desktop.
2 - Open the working Preferences folder, HD/Users/your_name/Library/Preferences, and move the contents to the Preferences A folder on the Desktop.
3 - Make a duplicate copy of the Preferences A folder on the Desktop as a precautionary backup.
4 - With the working Preferences folder empty run the application again and determine if the problems is fixed.
5 - If the problem is fixed:
A - open the working Preferences folder (HD/Users/your_name/Library/Preferences).
B - Open the Preferences A folder on the Desktop, select all of the contents and drag them into the working Preferences folder.
C - When the Copy window pops up check the "Apply to All" check box and then click on the Don't Replace button as seen here.
5 - If the problem is NOT fixed, empty the working Preferencess folder and move the contents of the Preferences folder on the desktop back into it.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

    Thanks,
    Hope this may help,
VIDEO_TS is a folder that contains many other files inside, like VOB (movie), INFO (info), BUP (backup). FCP is movie editing application, so..
    1. FCP can edit VOB (=MPEG2) if you have QT MPEG2 component & the right audio component.
    2. another way, open VOB file with mpeg streamclip (or others) & convert it into DV. FCP is sure can understand it.

  • Problem with video transitions folder locked

When I click on the video transitions (in effects tab) and try to drag a video transition like a dissolve into the timeline a small x appears and it wont allow me to add a transition. I noticed the folder symbol next to the video transitions has a lock symbol on it. How do I unlock the video transitions so I can use them again? I've tried clicking on the folder but nothing happens to the lock.

The x you're seeing doesn't mean the folder is locked; it means (usually) that there aren't enough handles on the media to sustain the transition. "Handles" are the frames BEFORE an IN point and AFTER an OUT point that get added to your clip whenever you add a transition. If there aren't enough frames, the transition cannot be applied properly. Look up HANDLES in the manual for more details.

  • Images & videos management - folder&subfolders

Is there a way to organize your photos, videos on your phone ( in my case x6 ) using your computer? If i create folder ( on mass memory under images where all photos are stored ) and put some of my images in this folder nothing happens on my phone. Al the pictures are still  together and created folder is nowhere to be seen .
I can create folder and subfolder using my phone, but when dealing with multiple photos it can get very frustrating since there are only two options to move those photos:
    -one photo at the time
    -all at once
Needless to say moving one photo after another is ******* , and moving all photos in not always an option.
edit: and also I cannot find folder i create using my phone anywhere using my computer ( c:, mass memory )?

Use the Photos application in the phone and/or Ovi Suite and create Albums. AND/OR create Tags. Then you can browse by Tag or Album, but in Mass memory mode you won't be able to tell which photos are in which album as this is part of the metadata.
That's about the only way to organize them.
It's really dumb in that way.
