I am not sure about Tcode to delete variables....But you can delete all unnecessary variables from Query designer itself...But before deleting variables make sure you don't need them anymore and these varaibles are not being used in any other Queries...
If you try to delete a variable which is being used in other Query,it will display a message 'Variable being still used...etc....if you click on details...it will show you where it is being used....
To delete variables:
Open any Query-->expand Characteristic->expand charactristi value variables->right click->delete.

I have written the below code in the start routine.
LOOP AT DATA_PACKAGE.
IF DATA_PACKAGE-/BIC/ZSREGIO <> AMR.
DELETE DATA_PACKAGE.
ENDIF.
ENDLOOP.
when i check for syntax errors, it gives message Delete variable does not exist.
Need your earliest help.

DELETE DATA_PACKAGE WHERE /BIC/ZSREGIO <> 'AMR'.
where did you put the code ?
there is 'insert your code here ...', put your code after that line.
if you are using BI 7.0, use source_package :
MONITOR_REC TYPE rstmonitor.

How to delete variable width points?

I've read a couple of methods for deleting variable-width tool points on a path (NOT path points or paths.)
None of them work for me; is there some trick to doing it?
I have read: A) Hover over the unwanted point (with var. width tool) and hit Delete and B)Select unwanted point with var width tool and hit delete.
Both moves result in the entire path being deleted.

Yes that is how it works. Cclick to select after your icon changes (pointere with a tilde ~)and delete. If you have only one variable width point, than it may have the appearance of the entire line getting deleted, try aon a path with 2 variable width point until you get the hang of this.

Delete Variables in Captivate 8

Hello,
I have read a previous post on variable deletion within a Captivate project but it did not solve my problem. I tried deleting the associated Advanced Actions/Shared Actions and then deleting the variables, but I am having no luck. When I try to delete the variable, I get a dialog box saying "Deleting variables used by Advanced Action, Shared Action, text objects is not allowed". However, when I look at the "Usage", in the dialog box it just says "", which I interpret as Captivate not finding where it's being used.
I have tried NOT deleting the slide with the actions before trying to delete the actions and variables as a previous post suggested, but this still doesn't work. I was glad to see that they added the ability to delete variables, but clearly either I am missing something or there is a bug. Please tell me I'm missing something!

Have not checked this in CP8 but in CP7 the Usage was not showing everything, if you don't get the message that a variable is not used, it is used somewhere but the Usage will not show it. If you do see an empty Usage list, it means that there is Usage. Hope I didn't confuse you more now, blogged about it for CP7, maybe it is still the case for CP8. I certainly logged that bug for CP7 but will first double check before logging again.

Delete variables in WEBI Documents

We are creating WEBI documents on top of BW queries(Query-Universe-WEBI) and BW query variables automatically flows into WEBI and we don't want to show all variables to the user while he is creating his own WEBI documents so we wanted to delete variables in WEBI instead of Universe. Is there any way to achieve this functionality?

but keep in mind that even when you do hide them the underlying BI query still requires values as input for the BI query to be executed.
you mentioned that you want to hide the variables from the user - so why do the variables exist in the BI query ?

Need help, MMC tree got deleted, very urgent.

My sap MMC tree, got deleted in the server. I have been trying to restore since 2 days and couldnt succeed, please help me.
1) i have uncared the sapmmc.sar from   Kernal\NT\I386\MMC\sapmmc.sar file
2) i got about 7 files, in which there is one sapmmc file i have tried to double click it, n check but no go.
3) i also tried to run the Sapstartsrv.exe file and fill in up the values in pop up window. & filled up the following values :-
                    SID: DEV
                    NR: 00
                    StartProfile: (entire start profile path given)
                    user: devadm
                    passwd; (given)
- but it says "the account name is invalid or does not exist or the password is invalid for account name specified"/
- no go in both the cases.
Please need help very urgent.

Creating text variable, urgent plz

Hi friends,
           I would like to create a text variable on fiscalyear/period. the requirement is
when user enters 001.2007   it has to display jan2007
                           002.2007   it has to display feb2007 so on.
   but when I am trying to create on fiscalyear/period it is not allowing me to create text variable. can any one suggest me please, it is an urgent requirement,

we can do this with the text with replacement path and the var which u have created u to put display as text thats it...
take a selection in the rows and create a variable in the text heading and give replacement fron the user entry default variable which the user enters.

1. log into the client to delete
2. go into SCC5 and delete client
3. log into another client and delete entry with SCC4
4. reorg database to recover database space.
Actually, if you check "on" the little "Delete Entry from T000" checkbox, you can skip step 3.
One other way of deleting a client which could give significant performance gain and save time is at OS level using - R3trans
To delete a client( eg: 100 ), you have to create a command file "del100" with following entries
Clientremove
Client = 100
Select *
Place the command file in /usr/sap/trans/bin
$ cd /usr/sap/trans/bin
$ R3trans w <log file name> -u 1 <command file name >
e.g $ R3trans -w del100.log -u 1 del100
To check the progress...
$ tail -f del100

Open the query in BEx in Development system, delete the variable form the query. The pop-up will arise for a new transport request. Capture the query in new request and then transport the same to Production.

Delete variable from Query

Hi Guru's,
I copied a query saved with a new name and made some changes to the new one, when I run the Query I get 3 variables(pop up) eg., PlanVersion, Period Interval, Year. I dont need Plan Version, Period Interval, but need just the Year...When I see the Query Properties I see all the three Variables I dont have the option to delete any of them... Any ideas would be highly appreciated...

Hi PR,
You cannot delete the variables from the query properties. You will need to delete them from the query definition (rows, columns, filter and free char areas). The period variable would be restricting char 0FISCPER (most probably) so see where it is included in the query definition and remove it from there. Same goes for the Plan Version.

i have an urgent requirement on creating an authorization variable. Please bear with me, because i havent done this before. the requiremnet is to create an authorization variable based on Sales rep id such that the sales rep should be able to see data relevant to him only. Can you tell me how do i do that? I saw many documnetationsn online but i dont understand the sequence, i am not sure how to go aobut it.

Variables Urgent......

We have 5 reports with lot of Restricted Key figures in which we are currently using avariable called Zxxxx.This variable is declared as user entry/Default and also there are many customer exist variables which use this Zxxxx variable in deriving thier logics.
Now our requirement has been changed and we need to change the Zxxxx variable(Which is Processing Type: user entry/Default) to Processing Type: Customer exit.
Please Advise the best solution.
I thought of deleting the existing Zxxxx variable and create new variable with the same technical name Zxxxx with processing type Customer Exit. But unfortunately its not allowing me to change or delete as this variable is used in other reports.

There is no direct way to change the processing type of a variable.
You can get the variable info from the BW table RSZGLOBV. The field VPROCTP of the table has the information about the processing type value 5 is for User entry and 3 is for Customer exit. It is <b>NOT</b> a SAP recommneded solution for changing the table entries manually. You can use the view V_RSZGLOBV from SM31.
