Hwo to deklet many photos at once?

Hi, I'm using the new iPad for some days together with the digital camera adapter. I was able to download the pictures into the iPad and from the iPad to the Mac without problem...
Now i want to delete the photos from the iPad, the only possibility to do so is photo by photo... but i have hundreds of photos on the iPad :-(((
Does anybody know hwo to delete an event with one operation??
Thanx in advance
Holger

When importing photos from a digital camera or from a digital camera's storage card with the Camera Connection Kit, there is an option to delete the photos from the camera or from the camera's storage card after the import process is complete.
If you are using iPhoto to import these photos from your iPad, iPhoto includes the same option - to delete photos from the source after the import process is complete. If you are using the Image Captured application on your Mac for this instead, the Image Capture application includes the same option after the import process is complete.
You can import the photos again with whatever you are using on your Mac for the import followed by deleting all the photos from your iPad after the import process is complete, or delete each photo on your iPad one by one.

  • Editing many photos at once with a subtlety

I don't know how to phrase this and maybe there's a thread that I've miss about that. So, that's why I'm counting on the community to help me.
For this example, let say that I have two image. The first one is at -0,30 in Exposure and the second one is at 0 Exposure.
I want to ADD 0,30 to bothg image. If I select both image and move the slider, after I apply the change on one image, they'll be both ath the selected value, in this 0,30.
But I don't want the modifictaion to be mirrored, I want the modifictaion to be ADDED.
So, in my example, I would to add 0,30, so my first image would be at 0 and my second image would be 0,30.
Does anyone know how to ADD a modification to a bunch of image and not MIRRORED a modification?
It sounds so simple, I'm sure there's a way to this !
    Let me know guys !
    Thanks,
    Patrice

There have been a number of dicussions about the same idea - you can search the forum for the words "relative adjustment".
Lightroom already does offer this feature, via the Quick Develop tools in the Library module. Changes made there are relative, whether just one image is highlighted or many (there are four arrows - one for a small adjustment UP, one for a large adjustment UP, and the same for DOWN).
This does not include all of the kinds of adjustment found in Develop, but a useful subset. When you alter (say) Exposure using the Library "Quick Develop", you are changing the exact same parameter as in Develop, and getting the same end outcome for a given value - only, one way works relatively on the parameter by incrementing / decrementing the prior setting, and the other way works absolutely by replacing the prior setting with a new one.
Other techniques include applying an adjustment brush over the whole image, or you can make alterations in the Tone Curve panel, and there are various ways to have this same overlald effect repeat onto other images. Sometimes it's helpful to use an independent form of adjustment, to apply a "look" or output-specific correction across many images, or virtual copies thereof, without upsetting their individualised Basic settings. So one can selectively toggle on and off, alter, sync or reset these same adjustments in isolation thereafter.
e.g.: One might save a particular Tone Curve group of settings, aimed at a particular outcome, into a Develop preset. This assumes that changes to the Tone Curve happen not to feature in your normal working method, also that a generally comparable kind of general edit will be available as a starting point.

  • Rotating many photos at once

    Hello,
Does anybody know how to rotate several photos at the same time?
    Thanks
    Yanina

    Hi Terence,
    Thanks again for your response.
I'm pretty sure that I've selected them correctly.
The reason for this is that: I select the photos I want to rotate, use the trackpad and only the first photo rotates. I then select the same photos, use the 'rotate' button, and all the photos rotate. If I was using the trackpad incorrectly, then no photo would rotate...so I'm not sure what's wrong. Could there be a problem with IPhoto and I need to re-install?

  • How can I delete multiple photos at once from the official Photos app?

    Dear fellow Apple users,
I have many pictures on my Camera Roll in Apple's Photos app. What's the quickest way to delete multiple photos at once?
Thus far, I know how to delete photos one by one, but that's time-consuming.
    Thank you.

No not box with arrow, that is share button.  Edit is where it shows in the pic I posted

  • How many photos can you load into Organizer and Editor

How many photos can you load into Organizer and Editor at one time.  I receive the error message, "Unable to Import Files", which says "You exceeded number of files that can be selecteed and imported at once...."  What is the number?  Secondly is there a way around this for either the Organizer or Editor to work on thousands of photos at the same time?
    Thanks

I have never heard of this particular limit before.
Please understand, this appears to be the limit you can import into the Organizer at one time -- you can have as many photos as you want in the Organizer; but apparently you have to import in batches rather than all at once.
I don't think it applies to the editor; and I can't imagine wanting to have more then a few files in the editor at any one time ... even if you could open 2000 photos in the editor at once, what sense would that make?

  • How many photos can I put in elements

I just recently bought a new computer.  I had someone else transfer all my files to the new computer.  I have been using Elements for years now (different versions).  I now have version 12.  Along the years, unfortunately, my photos became very mixed up with some on my hard drive and some on 2 external drives.  So, I think I have now loaded them all into one folder on my new computer.  I would like to import them into Elements.  I know I have not done this correctly and at this point, probably have lost all my tags and categories, etc.  So, I'm basically resigning myself to starting over and just loading them all in as new.  My question is how many photos will Organizer hold?  Now, I realize it is not really holding the photo merely a thumbnail that is pointing to the actual photo location. I thought if that was the case, it could hold an endless amount of "thumbnails".  My husband says that is incorrect.  Right now I have a little over 100,000 photos!!  I tried loading them all once but received conflicting messages that they loaded/did not load.  They eventually were not there. I'm trying again but am wondering if this is just too many photos.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Brenda

First, let me tell you "thanks" for responding to my question.  I really like using Elements (but am not as savvy as I should be after all these years) but have a hard time resolving issues with Adobe. So, I appreciate you getting back to me.
The good news is almost all my photos did load into Organizer the second time I tried!  It is missing about 300 because "the format was not supported" or something.  I'm not too concerned about these.  My husband keeps back ups so I'm sure we have them somewhere. I wouldn't be able to tell which ones they are anyway!
Just for info. I have an HP Envy laptop running Windows 8.1.
I was having an issue with getting the "sharing" mail feature going but finally received the verification code after adding the Adobe email address to my contacts (good advice from another discussion).
So, I guess one of the other big questions I have is about the "tags" on my photos.  When the photos were being imported this time, it did ask me what tags I wanted to import.  I selected "all" and it looked like it worked but when I open the "tags/info" view, none of my tags are there.  Do you think they are still on the photos and if so, how do I "show" them?
    Thanks, again,
    Brenda

  • I have so many photos in my iPhoto that I can't update with my Time Machine to an external drive.  What is another way to backup photos??

I need a solution for photo storage...
Can't run my time machine and store to external drive, probably because i have so many photos...
I either need a way to get more storage on the external drive or figure out a way to store photos

1 - you are fine for now but willneed to do something soon
2 - you can not backup up a 320 GB hard drive to a 320 BG hard drive using Time Machine - TM needs more space
3 - my suggestion is to get at least a 1TB external hard drive (they are cheap - often less than $100) formatted Mac OS estended (journaled) and use it for backup then once that is in place use the 320 GB external hard drive for yoru iphoto library -
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive

  • Total iPhoto crash after deleting many photos

After deleting many photos--I'm trying to cull the duplicates--and emptying the iPhoto trash, I quit the app and reopened.  But it wouldn't reopen except to a BLANK iPhoto page.  I could not quit or do anything with the app, so I had to force quit.  Did a computer restart, but still nothing, except a split second flash of photos and then absolutely nothing.  I paid for this update and have seen no advantages whatsoever from the recent version and now this.  Suggestions?!

It's likely that you've damaged the database by trashing too many items at once. Experienced users never delete more than 100 images at a time.
What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later...
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Iphoto does not load into iDVD- too many photos?

Recently upgraded to Leopard 10.5.6 and iLife '09. Ever since, iPhoto will not load into iDVD (iphoto 8.0 and iDVD 7.0.3). When trying to open current and new projects in iDVD, the project opens, and plays, but the photos from iPhoto never load, the loading icon just spins on and on. When I open a new document, the same thing happens. Tried trashing preferences in both programs, reinstalling iLife, and reparing permissions. All software updates are current. Still won't work.
I am starting to wonder if it has to do with the number of photos I have in iPhoto, which is about 4000. The photos loaded with no problem until I upgraded. Could it be that the upgrades in iPhoto just make the files too large, and it's too much to expect that many photos to load? Does anyone know how many photos is too many,— or can you suggest anything I have not tired that might work?

This is from Mac Help. It is a good idea to create another account to use in troubleshooting situations such as this. After you create the new account, open iDVD from that account. Try creating a small project to see if you are having the same problems. Post back with your results.
_Adding a new user account to your computer_
You can create individual user accounts for each person who uses your computer. Each new user has a separate home folder and can adjust his or her own preferences without affecting other users.
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences and click Accounts.
If some settings are dimmed, click the lock icon and type an administrator name and password.
Click Add and type the user's name.
If you don't want to use the short name generated automatically, type a new short name. (Once the account is created, you won't be able to change the short name.)
Type the user's password in the Password and Verify boxes.
Type a hint to help the user remember the password if they have trouble remembering it at login.
Click Parental Controls and select options to determine what the user can do with the computer.
If you change your mind while you're creating a new user account, click Delete to cancel.

  • Trying to open a received text message with many photos and application closes after 3-4 seconds

I have an iphone5s.  I received a text message with many photos attached.  when I select that message to open, there is a 2-3 second delay before it will open.  Once it does open, it will remain open for 3-4 seconds and the messaging app closes.  All other messaging features work fine.  It's just this one message with all of the pictures attached.

  • How many photos will fit on 1gb of iphone 4s storrage

I have the I phone 4s & would like to know how many photos can i fit on with 1 gb of storage left ?
hope someone can give me an answer

You may be approaching the problem the wrong way.
try using drop box (although your work computer may not be able to)  or transfer the photos to another PC and copy onto a USB stick - once again your work PC may not allow you to use USB devices,...
There is often a reason that your employer will not allow this kind of connection - circumventing this may not be a good idea either and could get you into trouble.

  • How do I change permissions on many files at once?

    Hello!
I recently had a large hard drive crash, and, long story short, I got all my data back but now have a different user account on a new hard drive.  The permissions on all the files on the computer are fine.
However, I am a recently graduated film student and use an external drive to edit video.  When I tried to open up Final Cut Pro and work on a project, I was told that the program couldn't work because I didn't have "write" access to my scratch drives.  I changed the permissions on the relevant folders and can now open the application fine, but can't actually edit because ALL the medi files don't give me full read/write access.
I can change them all one at a time, which requires I enter my password for each one, but this would take a few days of work to complete.
My question is: how can I add my user account with read/write permission to many files at once?  I've heard this can be done with Terminal, but I'm not sure how.
Please give me step-by-step instructions if you can!  I have never used Terminal before!  I am not a techie, but I want to be, and I learn quickly!
    My computer specs:
    15in Macbook Pro, early 2008.
    System 10.5.8

In the Finder's Get Info window, under permissions, you can click the little gear icon and set the "Apply to encoded items" flag. Then when you change permissions, it will apply to everything underneath the selected folder.
