Hi, my wife and two sons were buying using one iTunes account, now each has their own Itouch and want to create individual accounts, can they transfer their prevous purchases to their new account/itouch?

All iTunes purchases are tied to the iTunes account used to originally obtain them & cannot be transferred to another iTunes account. While you can continue to use this content, you cannot transfer it to your account.

You don't need to access your e-mail account, just get into your Apple account and change the e-mail address. If you can't access your Apple account, then you have a bigger issue to contend with.

I've used itunes since it's conception and have had several Ipods. Unfortunately, I also have two accounts. I'd like to consolodate all my purchases of songs and apps to one account for app update purposes and playing music on one set of authorized computers. Is there a way to do this?

My wife and I each had our own account prior to the HomeSharing feature. Once that was introduced, I jumped on it - thanks very much for doing that. But now I'm left with a few apps that I purchased on my account, and most that I shared from hers. In order to get updates, I have to keep switching accounts and re-verifying the billing info for both accounts.
Is there a way to move my license for a paid app from one account to another, so I can unify all my family's apps under a single account?
I contacted one of the app's vendors and was told that they couldn't do it... so it occurred to me to ask whether Apple could do it from their side.

No, you cannot transfer apps from one account to another iTunes account. Apps are DRM protected and forever tied to the account used to originally obtain them.

His school has assigned new iPads (that us parents have to buy out of pocket) and he was assigned to create a new iCloud account for that iPad that he will use and buy his own apps on for the rest of his public education and probably further. therefore, the current iCloud account will not get used. Is there a way to transfer the purchases from his old iCloud account to his new iCloud account and delete the old account? If not, he may have wasted up to $100 in App purchases that can't be transferred.

Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

I have just bought a new pc and downloaded itunes onto it, i have logged into my itunes account and purchased a few new tracks which downloaded fine but it will not find my previous purchases from istore. They show in my history in the store but when I click on purchased i can't get itunes to upload the previous purchases. I know there is a limit on how many computers you can download these too but I only have them on one other one.
Any ideas?

Did you ever get around to transfer purchases from your old iPhone to iTunes in your computer. If you did, your ringtone will be there and all you need to do is sync it back to your new iPhone.
Ringtones can only be downloaded once from the iTunes Store that is why the user guides recommend that you transfer purchases from the iPhone to the computer.
If you never synced your old iPhone to iTunes, then you need to do that now so that you can get your ringtone on your new iPhone.

We had received gift cards for itunes and were told we needed a separate acct but the kids cannot purchase games on ipodusing the new account that we were told we needed to set up.

We downloaded i tunes gift cards on the itunes acct but when we downloaded we created a neew account and the gift cards downloaded the money went to the new acct. My parents created an Apple ID using our HOME E-MAIL and I've been using that one since I first used iTunes. Now, I have MY OWN e-mail address and I want to use that one now. I want to know if there's a way to TRANSFER ALL the purchases I've made with that account to my new one. I really DON'T wanna have to buy them again...and I have ALOT of stuff I bought.

Stuff that was bought recently is DRM-free, and should work under any account.
Stuff that was bought when all files were DRM-protected are non-transferrable between accounts.
If you subscribe to iTunes Match, you should (not 100% positive) be able to delete your DRM-protected files and redownload them from iTunes's matching service. (Ones that are matched, of course.. Uploaded ones will stay DRM'd.) It's only $25 for a year's subscription, and all their files are 256kbps, too. I'd recommend this solution.
If you bought video files, I'm afraid you're screwed, as there's no way (that I know of) to remove DRM from videos. Either re-download or keep authorizing your computer with both iTunes accounts (the old one and your current one).
I have a couple music vids and TV show episodes that a buddy of mine gave me about 9 years ago. Every time I get a new computer, I have to have him come over and authorize my account, or I can't play them.
