Hyerlinks in widget caption area?

Can text hyperlinks be used in slideshow captions? In a series of 6 images with captions I would like 6 different links within the 6 different captions ("Click HERE" sort of thing) but so far, the preview shows the link style but with no rollover reaction and no link.

The effect that you are trying to create is not possible with Basic Slideshow, I would suggest that you try to use the Composition Presentation and let me know if that serves the purpose.

Hi All,
I am using Adobe Captivate 4. I have provided different start times in timeline settings for 4 text captions. When i preview my slide, it displays well. But when i publish it and try to view it, it is only dsiplaying the first text caption and the other text captions are not at all displayed.

Yeah..you are correct...I do have buttons in my slide.
When i adjusted the start time for my buttons after my text captions....it perfectly works fine...

In Captivate 7, how can I track which rollover captions are viewed on a particular slide?

I have a slide with multiple rollover captions. I'm trying to figure out a way to track which captions are viewed so that when they have all been viewed, they can advance to the next slide for a quiz. I would also like to show a check mark next to the ones viewed so the user can see which ones are left. I'm not opposed to using check boxes instead of the rollover captions, but then I'd have to figure out a way to get the captions to appear when checked and then disappear. Is this possible?

Sure. The Slidelet has two parts. The rollover area (the trigger) and the slidelet area (what displays when the trigger is rolled over or clicked)
So you click to give focus to the rollover area and look at the properties panel. Specifically, the Actions area. There, you should see an ability to "Execute Advanced Actions".
So you would define an action that would increment a variable (to let you know the area was moused over) and also perform a show of an image of a check mark. (or whatever type of image you want to use to indicate it had been moused over)

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Are these captions under photos on a photo page or the grid layout of an album page? Those are found in the rss.xml files for the page(s) involved.

you don't see this in your Dock? That's where all the widgets would be. Click on the "+" in the bottom left hand corner when dashboard is open to add widgets.

Flash Captions are bouncing all over the screen

Hello, I am trying to create a .swf file with captions. When I open the file up in an ordinary window, the captions are fine, but when I go full screen, the captions start wildly bouncing all over the place. I am using an XML file for my captions (shown below) and a QuickTime HDV file for my footage. Any tips on how to stop the bouncing captions??

If these occur on all sites, you may have an unwanted extension (or more than one) that is injecting the ads into sites. Try this:
Disable ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable.
Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

HT201386 After migrating the tags and captions are missing in Photo

after upgrading to IOS 8 all tags and captions from Iphoto are missing. Is there a way to recover that information? Using the searchbox doesn't give any results.

The tags and captions are not displayed any longer, but the search tool is supposed to find photos based on tags or captions:

Tags and captions from iPhoto are not displayed in Photos, but you can use them as search terms and they will show up respectively as Keywords and Titles in Photos search results.
Don't you see any tags at all in the search results, when you search for your old tags?

AC 8 - Does this version come stock with the email widget and print widget? Are there other non stock widgets I should also purchase?

Thinking of purchasing AC8 for training and quizzes / assessments. Does it come with the print and email widgets? Are there other widgets I might also need that don't come stock in Version 8?

Thanks Lilybiri for your response. I had a version of Captivate version 7 and had to purchase an email piece separately so I would receive notifications on quiz completions etc. I just need to know if that would also be the case for the print function and email function in 8.

Increase the caption area

Hello,
i am working on a photo book as a gift for family members. However, the default text area is not large enough for the caption I want to include. There is plenty of space on the page, and I really don't want to make the font smaller, so is there anyway to increase the size of the caption area from 1 line to 3-4?

The sizes of the text fields are fixed and depend on the theme and the page layout. You could try different themes or change the layout options to a different page layout.
Only be careful - switching the theme may erase text. Try the different themes on a copy of the book and not your original.

Captions Are Disappearing in Final Cut Pro X

Here's my problem. I'm currently using Final Cut Pro X to put together a 40 min movie. This movie includes various video clips as well as still images. Naturally there is a need for many captions/subtitles. However, when I'm finished for the day and close everything out, the next day upon opening up Final Cut Pro X again, i've found that many of my captions have returned to the default view. For instance, my caption may have said, "Johnny enjoys a day at the park." But upon returning, it says "title." I'm spending countless hours perfecting these captions only to find that they have to be redone. This will be the third time having to do this. The crazy thing is, not all of them do this. What is the problem here? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm finding myself having to leave my mac on 24/7 in order to keep this from happening, but even that is impossible to continue.

I'm having exactly the same problem with a ten minute movie.
Some captions revert to "title" and keep the formatting that I'd set. Some revert to the default font and size.
A very few of them are saved as I created them.
If I had the responsibility of saving my work as I go along, I could blame myself if changes weren't saved, but the program is supposed to be keeping track of every change I make.
Very frustrating.
Help please.

Hyperlink to a webpage in a media widget caption

Is there a way to make a link to an external website in caption text?
I inserted a media widget and a video clip. Below the clip is the text caption of the talking head speaker's name and a line of text describing what he is saying. I'm trying to create an external web link to IMDB when one clicks the name of the speaker. Can't seem to be able to do that!
Any ideas or am I doing something wrong here?

If you input the text in any part of iBA - within the body text or a captions - you can select whatever word or words you chose, and using the make a link option in the Inspector - select the webpage option and type in the FULL URL i.e. http://www. xxxxxxxxx.com or net etc,.
the selected text will be underlined and colour changed to whatever your style is - default - for reasons known only to Apple is red as opposed to the internationally used blue.
If you want it changed - disable - make inactive - the link text you selected - open the Styles drawer and look for "hyperlink" in red.... now change your text colour to blue ( or choice) disable the underline if you want - when done click the down arrow to the right of hyperlink in the styles drawer and choose
"redefine style from selection" your text - and every other link in the book will now be as you styled it.

Text frame rollover states in lightbox display comp widget trigger area no longer working in V 3.0

I had text frames with rollover states placed into the trigger area of lightbox display composition widgets
The rollover on the text worked fine, and then when clicked the lightbox composition widget opened
However this morning I updated Muse to the latest version 3.0 (which I was prompted to do) But now all these text frame rollover states no placed into the trigger areas of my lightbox dispslay composition widgets no longer work throughout my entire document
The lightbox will open when I click the text, but the rollover effect will no longer work
Is anyone having the same problem? Is there a way I can fix this? I was supposed to send the site to a client this morning :\

Yes. I'm having the same type of trouble with a site I'm updating for a client. I haven't updated the site since before version 2.0.
But now that I've upgraded to version 3.0 my rollovers and linking for the rollovers don't work. Very strange. I too need to get
the site posted ASAP. Please someone help us on this subject.

My iPads subtitle/captions are all uppercase, not letting me change it. Help!

I use captions and subtitles in everything that I watch. I have two iPads however this iPad is currently giving me this issue. The problem is is that the caption/subtitles are all uppercase. I tried to go under settings to fix this however it doesn't seem to be working. i've been able to fix this issue on my other iPad however on this one it doesn't seem to be working. It's very annoying to watch some of your favorite television shows and whenever you try to read the captions they're all in uppercase

It sounds as if your video content is not displaying the style of subtitles you want when playing videos. I would suggest the following -
Delete the content (videos, movies, TV shows) from your iPad.
Set the subtitle style to the way you want it in Settings > General > Accessibility > Subtitles & Captioning > Style.
Download the content again.
Play the content.

its nothing to do with itunes, its movies form the internet. i got the file preview by taking an image off the internet, pressing command c and pasting it on top of the small icon in the get info section
