HYP 11.1.1 issue

Hi,
we have installed 11.1.1.1 yesterday and we also configured shared services and planning ..etc succesfully.Today when i login to shared services console.i get this error . iwas able to see good yesterday
http 404 error.
Any help
Rajeev

Rajeev,
OK,Don't try to start the servers( i mean managed ones) from the web logic console . I have seen this and in our case we were able to resolve by restarting services.
Try to restart 'hyp planning ' service from the services.msc , and then refresh the console page . If it changes its status from 'shutdown' to 'running' with health OK , then look at the deployments.Do the same with shared services too.
So, restart the servcices and even it does not work reboot the server ( For windows,it works )

  • Windows Server 2012 R2 - Hyper-V NIC Teaming Issue

    Hi All,
I have cluster windows server 2012 R2 with hyper-v role installed. I have an issue with one of my windows 2012 R2 hyper-v host.
The virtual machine network adapter show status connected but it stop transmit data, so the vm that using that NIC cannot connect to external network.
The virtual machine network adapter using Teamed NIC, with this configuration:
    Teaming Mode : Switch Independent
Load Balance Algorithm : Hyper-V Port
NIC Adapter : Broadcom 5720 Quad Port 1Gbps
I already using the latest NIC driver from broadcom.
I found a little trick for this issue by disable one of the teamed NIC, but it will happen again.
Anyone have the same issue with me, and any workaround for this issue?
    Please Advise
    Thanks,

  • VMware to Hyper-V template conversion issue for Windows Server 2008 template

    Hello,
I am attempting to convert a Windows server 2k8 template from VMware to Hyper-V. The hosts are Cisco UCS B200 M3 blades running Win2k12 and ESX 5.5 respectively. The template boots successfully in VMware and runs through its post install process without
any issues. When I convert the template to Hyper-V the guest will display the windows splash screen and then I get the error "windows setup could not configure windows to run on this computers hardware”. I attempted to force the OOBE process
by running msoobe.exe from the CLI but got the same error on restart.
The particularly strange thing is that if I boot the syspreped guest in VMware, interrupt the post install process, shutdown the guest, then convert to Hyper-V the guest will boot successfully in Hyper-V. At this point I uninstall the VMware tools, install
the windows virtual guest services, and re-sysprep the guest. Sadly the result is the same, on boot I get "windows setup could not configure windows to run on this computers hardware”. I found http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2466753/en-us but
it references Win2k8R2 specifically. Does anyone have any ideas on how this issue could be manifesting itself
    in Win2k8?
As an aside I was able to successfully convert a Win2k8R2 template successfully using the same process, any input on this issue would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Toll_Hou5e,
As far as I know there don’t have the KB or article mention we can convert the VMware template image to VHD, you can use the MVMC for the virtual machine convert.
I don’t familiar with VMware template but base on my experience, the VMware View Connection template can execute the Windows template image sysprep program, VMware may configured
some system option, you can ask your software vendor for the further help.

  • Hyper-v Snapshot compact issue

    Hello All,
I have Hyper-v machine with three snapshot. All the snapshot size around 200GB. The total this Hyper-v machine size 800GB and physical HDD size 1TB. Now i need to delete the hyper-v snapshot and run the compact as because of Hyper-v HDD issue. But i cannot
run the delete snapshot due to Physical HDD size issue. Is their any way to delete snapshot on existing HDD size.

  • Virtual Machine Generation 2 Boot Issue!!! (Windows Repair Bootloop! ) Hyper-V 2012 R2

Hello people, I'm having the following with the GEN 2 in Hyper-V 2012 R2.
Issue: After bouncing my GEN2  Hyper-V VM I get this.
Then I get the Windows Repair and nothing happens after this point!
Does someone have experience this issue ?
The bad thing with it is as it's production there's no checkpoints and I cannot recover it!
    Note: this doesn't happens with GEN1 VM's.
Any help will be really appreciated

Hi, thanks for the quick response. Now the images are appearing... oh well...
    Quite familiar to me this one.  I have a couple of, or more, remedies;
1: increase the available memory to at least 4096 - just whilst installing you can alter it later.
2: make sure the enhanced session switches (both in Server and User) in the hyper-v manager are not enabled - you can re-enable them later
3: Disable "Enable Secure Boot" in the VM settings - Firmware - you can enable it after the install
4:  make sure Heartbeat is enabled in the VM's settings - Integration Services
5: Last, but not least, make sure the Smart Paging File Location is the same as the VM's location. Eg: VM: <D:\VMS\Machines> Smart Paging Location: <D:\VMS\Machines>
One or more of these has "always" worked for me in the past.  I don't offer any warranty with these "solutions", but by disabling or enabling the various options I have nearly always been able to get the VM started.
Is the ISO you are utilizing good?  One client of mine assured me he had never touched the ISO saved in that 'special place'.  A quick peer at the files inside the ISO revealed that he had been at the files and changed a minor file and then changed
it back to what he thought it had said...
    Cheers

  • Hyper-V causing intermittent network issues on Host?

I have a strange issue, I am not entirely sure Hyper-V is causing it, but it certainly seems that way.
    Scenario
    Host: Windows 8.1
Network Adapter: Intel Dual Band AC-7260 (Wifi)
Network Adapters (relevant ones are highlighted yellow)
    Issue
When I continuously ping my wifi router (on the host machine), it intermittently drops.  See the screen shot below.
This issue also manifests itself within the Virtual Machines as the machine constantly getting a DHCP IP address and then losing it.  This happens continuously every few minutes.
Currently, I can resolve the issues by disabling Wifi on the host and then re-enabling it.  I sometimes have to do that 2/3 times for it to stop dropping out.  But it does fix the issue.
    What have I tried?
I have been in contact with Dell (laptop is an XPS 15 2013) and Intel support.  They have replaced the motherboard and now they want to replace the WiFi card.  Personally I don't think it will help.
Why do I think it is HyperV related?
If I run the host machine with the VMs powered down, I do not get any issues.  However, as soon as I start any Hyper-V VMs, the issue will usually start pretty quickly.
    What it isn't.
This is not related to wifi signal or anything like that.
The wifi router is 2 meters from my laptop.
Other devices in the house do not exhibit this behaviour
The behaviour is consistent across all networks (office, home, coffee shop etc)
    Thanks for any help.

    @Brian,
I have done some more research.  It seems that the "bridge" is normal when sharing with wifi.
You might have also noticed that although the virtual switch vEthernet
(AGMnet External WLAN) is connected to (is using) host’s WLAN
NIC it is however showing an Ethernet LAN symbol
(connector of a LAN cable) and presented under LAN connections.
This has a simple explanation: all Hyper-V network connections are Ethernet (LAN) connections; Hyper-V does not support WiFi so
even when a virtual switch is connected to a wireless NIC, Hyper-V presents it as Ethernet connection to the virtual machine i.e. the virtual NIC on vm “thinks” it is connected with an Ethernet cable.
This also means that when we are using an external virtual switch connected to a WLAN NIC, we need an extra
network bridge on the host. The virtual NIC connects to a virtual switch, virtual switch in its turn connects to a host network bridge which creates (as its name says) a bridge between our virtual Ethernet connection and host WLAN NIC’s connection to the router:

  • Hyper-V as User on Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro

I believe I'm having permission issues when attempting to use Hyper-V on Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro.  Hyper-V seems to install cleanly, and from an admin account I can use the Hyper-V Manager without issue and connect to a running VM.  However
if I attempt to use the Hyper-V Virtual Machine Connection application from the same account, it reports "You do now have the required permission to complete this task..." And attempts to run either the Manager or the Virtual Machine Connection result
in the same on a standard user account.
Standard wisdom seems to be to add the user account to the "Hyper-V Administrators" group but when I've looked in the Computer Management utility and the group "Hyper-V Administrators" does not exist. I've tried manually adding full
permissions to the WMI interfaces for CIMV2, StandardCimv2 and Virtualization namespaces through the WMI Control Properties interface. I've also added the user to the "Administrator" role for Hyper-V services in AzMan as a long shot.  Beyond
this, I'm not sure where to go next.
The end goal is to be able to run the Hyper-V Virtual Machine Connection Utility from a non-administrative user. Any advice is appreciated.
    -Matthias

Your question might be more general to Hyper-V and not specifically embedded. WE8.1 is Windows 8.1 with lockdown features so there is nothing special. Account level (Administrator vs. non-administrator) does effect what permissions are granted to access
    certain OS features.
Maybe the Hyper-V forum can address the account level -

I've attempted to modify the permissions in Hyper-V InitialStore.xml by adding both my Dev (admin) and Test (user) to the Administrator role but this has not fixed the issue. I've also looked in the Computer Management utility and the group "Hyper-V
Administrators" does not exist.  When I run the script from Ben Armstrong that generated and assigned rights to that group before it was shipping with Hyper-V I receive a notification that my current user is already added to the group and still don't

The end goal is to be able to run the Hyper-V Virtual Machine Connection Utility from a non-administrative user. Any advice is appreciated.

    Hi Sir,

  • Hyper-V 2012 VMs freeze on large file transfers

I have a small non-clustered Hyper-V Server setup as follows:
HP ML350p Gen8 Server, 6 core E5-2620 CPU and 32GB Memory running Server 2012 (full GUI) with the Hyper-V role enabled.
The Server has 8 disks, 1 pair of RAID1 15k disks for the Server 2012/Hyper-V OS, and 3 pairs of RAID1 10K disks for 3 VMs (ie each VM has its own pair of RAID 1 disks). The NICs in the Server are 4 x gigabit ports on an internal
331i card and 4 x gigabit on an external 331T card. The Hyper-V Server is  not running anything other than the Hyper-V role, the LogMeIn client and Symantec SEP SBE 2013 (with recommended Hyper-V exclusions in place) and
the VMs are a Domain Controller, a SQL Server and a File Server. Currently all VMs have their own single 1GB NIC connection on the 331T card, all VMs have a single IP address and are on the same subnet, no VLANs are used.
I have applied what hot fixes I can from a TechNet article that recommended how to setup Hyper-V.
Initially I had a problem with NIC latency during pings, which we traced to being due to the ML350 Gen8 Server's NICs not liking VMQ enabled. When disabled all looked fine, but we had not yet tried to use the Server in production.
Recently (getting ready to go in to Production use) we have noticed when transferring a 3.5GB ISO of SQL media to a file share on one of the VMs from a desktop PC that this causes the VM to lock up. The file copy will still complete but the screen freezes
when accessed via Hyper-V manager or remotely via LogMeIn and sometimes the LogMeIn remote session is dropped too. If you cancel the file copy the console is immediately responsive again.
Since we built the server a while back, HP had subsequently released an updated NIC driver which we installed and it seems to have fixed the VMQ issue, but with or without VMQ enabled we seem to experience the lockups as soon as we transfer medium to large
size files. The issues were there before and after we upgraded the NIC driver, we were hoping it would address the issue, but it didn't. These servers are very lightly loaded and the problem occurs even on the SQL Server VM with the SQL service disabled
(ie the server has hardly anything running at all and the console freezes with a single user performing a single file copy).
We have 3 VMs on the Server, 2 are running Server 2012 and seem to be more affected, the VM running Server 2008 R2 seems less affected. VM to VM transfers seem to be working better (ie slows down slightly but no lock ups), it is only during external network
transfers. Also the faster the transfer speed is, the worse the issue becomes. If the file is copied to a share on the Hyper-V Host the issue does not occur, only transfers to the VMs.
Does anyone have any idea what might be the issue here? I saw a hotfix for 2008 for a similar issue but can't seem to find anything for Server 2012.

I think we have tried almost every combination of disabling Large Send Offload, TCP offload, IP SEC Offloading, VMQ and Receive Side Scaling possible - in the various places there are - although I will be quite honest - as there are 3 places to do this
for each Server (the related physical and virtual NICs on the HV Server, and also the NIC in the VM) it is possible we may have missed an iteration...
During our testing we have noticed that the symptoms of the problem gets worse the higher the transfer speed is. For example if you transfer to the VM from a desktop with a 100Mbs NIC, there will be subtle lag and a transfer speed of say 10 or so KBs ,
if you use a device with a 1Gbs NIC, you on average achieve 50-70 KBs transfer speeds and the higher the number, the worse the GUI / Server locks up (although the transfer completes just fine).
We also tried throttling the bandwidth via the 2012 GUI - to see if that helped, but none of the changes we made seemed to work, and we did not have time to try the powershell way of doing this.
We did replace one of the VM's NIC with a legacy one as part of our testing today, and now data transfers to the VM from a PC with a 1Gbs NIC run slower at around 30-35 KBs and the are no noticeable GUI freezes, although during the large transfer
it looks like 1 in every 30-40 packets is dropped in a continual ping that runs during the transfer period.
We have done a lot of cable replacing today (out of diligence) but there seems to be no noticeable issue. We also tried and older NC380T dual port NIC we had available and used the standard driver Windows offered instead of an HP one, but the problem
was identical no matter which NIC we used.

  • Cannot enable hyper-v in windows 8.1(EFI from bootcamp)

    Hi Guys,
I wonder whether anybody has the same issue as me.
Use boot camp assistant to follow the instruction to install windows 8.1 and failed at last step said windows cannot write into boot configuration data something
Find one remediation solution to delete the partition created by boot camp and create it from disk utitlity. everything went smooth and get windows 8.1 installed(Bios), can even enable the hyper-v without any issue
Find another thread talking about EFI boot. So try it with the way(need use gdisk to do some patching and finally need recreate bcd record). windows 8.1 installed without any issue, not sure whether it is EFI boot. But I cannot enable hyper v anymore. after tick the option in windows features and it restart twice and nothing happen. The hyper-v option still remain in windows feature.
Anybody has the similar issue and provide your valuable advice? Thanks a lot.
BTW, the hardware is rMBP 15", i7 2.3GHZ, 16G RAM and 512G SSD

    Hi TeddyIsSam
Encountered the same problem on my 27" iMac Mid-2010 (CPU i5-2500s)
I tried for hours/days and could not enable Hyper-V.
If i enabled hyper-v, windows would boot to black screen and could not be repaired without disabling hyper-v.
Found the problem. installing bootcamp from USB with always use latest EFI boot and hyper-v doesnt like it - at least on my old iMac.
Installing windows with old bootcamp style - BIOS emulation (or whatever apple call it) works OK.
non-EFI (or old bootcamp) is when you get 1-2 second of cursor flash in the top left before windows boots.
Unfortunately, i had removed my super drive DVD from iMac... so i could only install bootcamp from USB and this requires EFI boot only.
To remedy this, i used this process which was very, very time consuming, costs $ for winclone and not for beginners
    http://huguesval.com/blog/2012/02/installing-windows-7-on-a-mac-without-superdri ve-with-virtualbox/
However, i can confirm i can now happily run hyper-v with Windows 8.1. great performance. It boots in old non-EFI mode which doesnt seem to have any downside? except the 1-2 cursor flash and i had to manually install latest graphics drivers from ATI as bootcamp drivers we buggy.
Hope this saves someone a lot of time!!!
im assuming later generation Macs happily run hyper-v with latest EFI.

  • Hyper-V WMI v2 Applying a snapshot

    Hello all!
I have been successful at creating a snapshot, but I cannot figure out how to apply a snapshot. Microsoft has the root\virtualization\v2 method listed as:
    uint32 ApplySnapshot(
      [in]   CIM_VirtualSystemSettingData REF Snapshot,
      [out]  CIM_ConcreteJob REF Job
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh850022(v=vs.85).aspx
I can get the snapshot object from WMI just fine, but when calling the ApplySnapshot method, I am guessing at the InParam as:
    <snapshotObject>.Path_.Path
Unfortunately, when I run this I get a return code 32775 (invalid state). Trying other parameters gives 32773 (invalid parameter), so I am assuming I have the correct parameter, but why am I getting "Invalid State" when I can apply the snapshot
    from Hyper-V Manager without issue?
    Thank you in advance!

I started from scratch, but after all kinds of trial and error, I either keep running into Invalid Parameter or Invalid State. Baffled here...
Thank you for the recommendation. I will try there, but I am having a hard time finding a Hyper-V forum on TN. The only thing I see under Virtualization is VM Converter. Have a link?
    Thank you,
    Eric

  • [VHD][BOOT][UEFI] Boot Windows 8 From a VHD Drive On a GPT Disk Using UEFI BIOS

I had been dual booting two copies of Windows 8 prior to getting a new rig without any issues. Once I installed Windows 8.1 I can no longer boot a VHD from the GPT partitioned drive.
    My PC specifications
    Intel i7-4770k
    ASUS SABERTOOTH Z87
    16GB KINGSTON HYPERX BEAST DUAL-DDR3 2400MHz
2GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 660 Ti
    120GB INTEL 520 SSD
    4TB WD CAVIAR BLACK WD2002FAEX
4TB WD CAVIAR BLACK WD2002FAEX (two way mirror = storage spaces)
    15x BLU-RAY Writer Drive
    CORSAIR 750W PRO HX750-80
Corsair H60 Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler
    10/100/1000 GIGABIT LAN PORT
    Windows 8.1 Pro x64
So I basically copied my existing VHD to the new data drive and created the relevant BCD entry, when I chose to boot from the VHD I am presented with an error saying Windows cannot boot and to choose another OS or the troubleshooting options (I’ll post the
exact error later as I am at work at the moment).
I can boot the VHD inside Hyper-V without any issues, it just wont boot natively. I also created a brand new Windows 8.1 VHD and still the same thing happens. Once I created a new VHD I used “bcdboot j:\windows /s j:” to insert the attached VHD into the BCD
    store.
So existing or brand new VHD’s don’t seem to work for me, any advice would be appreciated.

I posted this issue on Neowin and someone kindly pointed out the answer, it's to do with storage spaces:

What types of drives can I use with Storage Spaces?
You can use commodity drives attached via Serial-Attached SCSI (SAS), Serial ATA (SATA), or USB. Storage layers that abstract the physical disks are not compatible with Storage Spaces. This includes VHDs and pass-through disks in a virtual machine, and storage
subsystems that layer a RAID implementation on top of the physical disks. iSCSI and Fibre Channel controllers are not supported by Storage Spaces.

  • Stage Play Format in an iBook?

    Hello,
I'm creating an eBook (in all formats: ePub, PDF, iBook and maybe even .MOBI) for a client and I'm trying to figure out how to format it.  It's an original stage play (theatrical...you know, like Shakespeare) that she'd like to sell and distribute as an eBook.  Is it possible to keep the formatting similar to a stage play  (with indented dialogue, character lines, and stage directions on the left)?  Something like this.
I've seen examples in the iBooks store of Shakespeare and Arthur Miller and such, so I believe it is, but I'm not sure how to do it.
Is it simply a matter of tabs and indents and line breaks?  Or is it more complicated (like coding, html, widgets?).
Is there a template or tutorial/guide you can recommend?
Of course PDF is the easiest option, but the samples I saw were iBook formats with flowable, resizable text.  I'd like to do that, instead of a fixed-layout PDF.
    Thanks,
    Justin

  • No communication with Oracle

    Hi Hyperions,
I got one issue which is not giving any hint to me.I am uisng Oracle-SQL as a database.I imported the dimensional tables and fact table in to Essbase studio .I can see the dimension name anf hierarchies under that in Essbase Studio. But when it deployed in to Essbase i can see only dimension names only and no members under it.It gives me a arror "Failed to Establish connection with Oracle-SQL".So i underastood that Essbase and oracle are not communicating properly. Please suggest me where it is going wrong or any alternate sollution.
Your suggestion is highly appreciated and helpful.

    To add...
    1) Back up the server.properties file and alter it in the following manner:
Change the server.essbase.streamingCubeBuilding=true to server.essbase.streamingCubeBuilding=false (use Essbase drivers)
    2) Set the ODBCINST variable to point directly to odbcinst.ini
    3) Then, the BPMS service should be restarted.
    The file is named:
    startBPMS_bpms1_Server.bat on Windows;
    startBPMS_bpms1_Server.sh on UNIX.
Note: The Essbase Studio Server startup file contains the commands necessary to start Essbase Studio Server. During the configuration process , the EPM System Configurator writes information to the startup file about the computer on which Essbase Studio is installed so that Essbase Studio Server can start properly. Oracle recommends that you do not manually edit the startup file.
The start up file is installed by default in:
    MIDDLEWARE_HOME/user_projects/epmsystem1BPMS/bpms1/bin

  • Autofill username/password only works on certain websites

I just started using my macbook and have noticed that autofill for usernames and passwords only functions on a limited number of websites.
I've researched this topic and only seen this answer that appears to be relevant. Some websites use a security that prohibits the saving of usernames and passwords.
If these websites were banks, or secure company portals I might buy this answer but they are not.
They are standard web forums. On my PC I used Norton password management software that saved all of my nearly 200 usernames and passwords, with limited exceptions like my bank for example. If I can not resolve this it will have a pretty huge negative impact on my web browsing experience with Safari.
Anyone know of a workaround for this or is Safari just hyper sensitive to this issue?
Is there any 3rd party password management software that functions better than Keychain?
Is Firefox a better option for password management? I'd prefer not to use multiple web browsers if possible since it complicates bookmark/favorites management.
    Thanks in advance. Steve

1Password, I find it to be the ultimate password manager. You can even have it remember and autofill credit cards, address info, just about everything.
Another great feature is it can generate random, complex passwords and remember them for you so you're not using the same generic password for everything like most people do.
