Hyp Sys 11.1.1 - Prerequisite Installations (Oracle, IIS 6.0, Sys Req)
Re: Hyp Sys 11.1.1 - Installation
Posted: Apr 12, 2009 2:23 AM in response to: JohnGoodwin Edit Reply
okay, per the .pdf, i can have a successful installation having the following O/S:
Boot 1 - Linux AS 4.7
Boot 2 - Windows Server 2003 SP1, or Windows 2000 Professional SP4, or Windows Server 2000 SP4 all of which gave me issues to download and will try again thinking my mind was on too many new things of thought.
As for the other prerequisites, please tell me what else to CONFIGURE or NOT CONFIGURE based on the following:
(1) Oracle 11g installed fine.
(2) IIS 6.0 having ASP installed successfully and configured its componets on the default web site created:
directory browsing is enabled
authenication features are all enabled
IIS Manager permissions added for Administrator and 5 users created within AD DS (thinking here about kennedy's comment to add a DCOM user)
ASP service started
Bindings - one for the http static ip using port 80 bound to domain
(3) Server Configuration involved adding features (successful services) in 2008, which is implied to be the same as outside of known version differences for 2003 or 2000, pending for download from microsoft (having issues with finding the right compliant):
AD DS
AD LDS
IIS
.Net Framework
(4) AD DS configuration involved adding users to the site domain corp.carmenwilliams.com. as for the 5 users, i practiced by adding one user giving perm, account, and member of stuff. i have one user that is not within the user folder having a DCOM name. i can't see, read, or obtain anything about kennedy's point in creating a DCOM user.
As part of the wizard setup process, the default site is added having a server successfully running.
I modified all users to have all rights access just to eliminate further study that is outside of my initial work of effort in the near future.
(5) AD LDS configuration involved a new instance using port 58089 that did not create an application partition and imported an LDF file successfully. i was able to execute LDP.exe to test a connection to my local host.
any other type connection, bindings, or to be apart of is not known how to do at this time.
With said, my hyp installation failed on HabNet and Shared Services Open LDAP which are believed to be the same problem once i install on Linux and Win 2003 or 2000 which ever can be downloaded successfully.
Please advise.
Thank you,
Carmen

Hi,
I would just try and configure Shared Services on its own first, if you have problems then check the hyperion\logs\config logs for errors.
Shared Services/Openldap are a core component and without that working there is no point in moving on to the next stage of configuration.
Cheers

Prerequisites for Oracle 9i installation AIX 5L V5.3
Hi,
Can anybody give a clear idea on the prerequisites for Oracle 9i release 2 installation IBM AIX 5L V5.3
Thanks
JibuWhere did you get that information from?
If you check the great cert matrix, you'll find that Oracle's support for 5L is rather wide. The general note/page says e.g.
"Oracle products are certified for AIX5L on all servers that IBM supports with AIX5L. ...
AIX5L certifications include AIX5L versions 5.2 and 5.3."
And 9.2 is certified on "5L" (but note that current support ends July this year) -

Edited by: user9032138 on Oct 13, 2011 12:13 AMDear Avi Miller,
I have successfully installed both of servers (VM Server 3.0.2 & VM Manager 3.0.2) as below
+ VM Server 3.0.2 on Dell PowerEdge 1950
+ VM Manager 3.0.2 in OEL 6.1 on Sun Fire X4100M2 Server
Refer to Oracle VM Server 3.0 Document, they recommend to do Discover Oracle VM Servers to VM Manager first of all step then do anything else like Creating a Server Pool so I try to do Discover Oracle VM Servers in many times but still not success.
What I try to do Discover Oracle Servers as below:
After I install both already I start to Discover Oracle VM quickly
1. Log into Oracle VM Manager
2. Select the Hardware view.
3. Select Discover from the Actions menu. The Discover Servers dialog box is displayed.
4. Enter information about the Oracle VM Server(s) to be discovered.
5. Specify an IP Address (or rang): IP_of VM Server and Click Add
6. Put password of VM Server Agent
7. Click OK
Wait a minute the Status of VM Manager show fail and when I click Detail it show as below:

Installation Oracle 8i with Forms 5.0
Hi ,
I am trying to install Forms 5.0 in windows 2000 professional which has oracle 8.1.7.
After installation Oracle 8.1.7 gets disabled and Forms 5.0 too did not run.
Please let me know the solution for this problem.
thanks ,
Nimit1. Forms 5 (Dev 2.1) must be installed onto a new oracle home, not in the same on where 817 is.
2. It is a good idea to install Forms 5 first, then 817.
Let me know if this solved your problem

Do you know why oracle queries many times sys.props$ for BACK_END_DB
I noticed that oracle executes the following query too many times.
select p.value$, lengthb(p.value$)
from
sys.props$ p where p.name = 'BACK_END_DB'
Oracle 9i DB
This query is not executed into a form, report, package or procedure.
Question is:
Do you know why oracle queries many times sys.props$ for BACK_END_DB?
or how can we avoid it?
Regards
Marcos GaleanaHi,
Internal table sys.props$ contains data for some oracle parameter/variables. Oracle makes internal calls to its internal tables for many fornt end SQL statements (recursive queries). So do not worry about those internals calls.

Error during installation Oracle on Unix...
Hello everyone,
I tried to installer Oracle 10g r2 on unix tru 64 bit. I copied oracle software in /tmp. When I run "./runinstaller" then following message arise:

export NLS_LANG

My Server 2008 R1 32bit installation is hanging on crcdisk.sys. I am trying to recover via the installation repair options. However, my hard disks, and thus my OS is not being detected. The hardware itself checks out fine, controller,
partitions, and BIOS load with no issues. This is an inherited machine so i am unsure of where to look when I click the "load drivers" option to detect the drives. Is there any way to solve this short of re-installation?Hi Llew69,
I assume you can’t see the storage when you use installation media to boot your server, it usually caused by there have not storage driver, you can refer the following article

Problems Post installation - Oracle 8i and Forms 6i
Hello,
This is with respect to the two issues I am encountering in Oracle. Kindly somebody help with these issues as it is urgent.
PLEASE GO THROUGH EACH AND EVERY POINT BEFORE ARRIVING AT A CONCLUSION
1. With the Post Oracle database installation
2. Oracle forms connectivity to the Oracle database (FORMS WAS INSTALLED PRIOR TO ORACLE INSTALLATION)
I will start with the 1st issue (Post Oracle database installation)
Steps A01
1. I unistalled an existing version 8.1.7 using the steps mentioned in the following link (http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/misc/ManualOracleUninstall.php)
2. I chose typical installation (default, all the rest of installation methods were default)
3. Gave SID as ORCL_DB
4. Created database by installation
5. connected to SYS using default password - no problem
6. Created another user usr01 and granted necessary privileges Was able to logon to the database using usr01. No problem
But if I do a restart of the machine and then I am encountering an error ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist after which I am unable to connect to the database.
##### (PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM ABLE TO CONNECT TO ORACLE FOR THE FIRST TIME WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. THE ERROR IS THROWN IF WE REBOOT THE MACHINE AND TRY TO CONNECT TO ORACLE) ###
The steps I tried to troubleshoot this
a. Checked the oracle network admin directory. All the config files are there (TNSNAMES.ORA, SQLNET.ORA, LISTNER.ORA)
b. did a tnsping
c:\tnsping ORCL_DB
NO PROBLEM WITH THAT. GETTING OK FOR THE PING
c. Checked the oracle registries.
Could find all these entries have the correct value:
ORACLE_HOME - C:\ORACLE
ORACLE_SID - ORCL_DB
ORACLE_BASE - c:\oracle
There were no extra slash or extra character with the registry entries.
Now the the post forms installation scenario
Steps A02 (FORMS WAS INSTALLED PRIOR TO ORACLE INSTALLATION)
1. Installed forms (directory c:\orant)
Steps A03
1. Copied the contents tnsnames.ora file entries from oracle\network\admin directory to the orant\net80\admin\tnsnames.ora file
2. Tried to connect to oracle forms (user : usr01, database : ORCL_DB).
Got error : ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name
3. Created an environment variable : tns_admin with value c:/oracle/network/admin. Tried to connect again
Now getting another error : unable to connect to the destination : ora-12203 (unable to connect to destination)
I have installed forms and oracle in separate directories. Can somebody help to resolve these issues?
Thanks in advance

Problem Installation Oracle 10g Centos 5
Hello everyone!
I tell them my problem:
last week I'm trying to install 10g oragle realese 2 on linux. At first attempt to install on Ubuntu 11.10 but came to the installation and always had binding problems, I always look for a missing library every forum and never knew what it was. In previous versions of Ubuntu I never had problem. Another thing I do simulate linux on virtualbox.
To all this, I decided to throw out Ubuntu and I read that the distribution Centos 5 was a clone of Red Hat distribution, so, install linux all over again.
Install linux, I saw all the documentation of oracle 10g, I saw the notes on the installation, I did all the prerequisites, download the libraries that read the notes. and install it when I get this
oracle@localhost database]$ ./runInstaller -ignoreSysPrereqs

Cannot fix installation Oracle 11g on unix
I downloaded Oracle 11g and I am trying to install it on my ubuntu machine, however, the installation wizard seems to have failed running the prerequisite checks, and, has generated some scripts (intended to fix) which seem to have failed as well.
Would you please guide me?

It is too bad that you cannot read the Installation Guide, wherein is listed the versions of Linux that are certified for Oracle. Sometimes it would be handy ... to find out that Oracle does not support their products on Ubuntu. -

SharePoint Foundation 2013 Prerequisite installer keeps installing and restarting the server
Hi,
I'm trying to install SharePoint foundation 2013 on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard SP1.
I already install SQL Server 2012 SP1 and TFS 2013 on the server.
I don't have internet connection on the server so i install the next prerequisites manually:
SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 Native Client
Microsoft WCF Data Services 5.0
Microsoft Information Protection and Control Client (MSIPC)
Microsoft Sync Framework Runtime v1.0 SP1 (x64)
Windows Identity Extensions
Windows Identity Foundation (KB974405)
Windows Management Framework 3.0
Then I ran the prerequisitiesInstaller.exe from command line -
prerequisiteInstaller.exe /appfabric:[Full AppFabric Installer path] /KB2671763:[AppFabric update path]
the prerequisiteInstaller start to run - after some steps it request for server restart, after the server upload the installer start again and after some steps it request for server restart.
This loop is never ending.
I tried to do some action to fix this issue:
http://spreza.blogspot.co.il/2013/05/sharepoint-2013-prerequisite-keeps.html
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/bccdb9f1-dd91-4db1-bd19-6bfa658727f5/sharepoint-server-2010-setup-keep-asking-for-reboot?forum=sharepointadminprevious
There is any reason or solution for this scenario?Have you checked the log to see at what point and what update is requiring the re-boot? I suspect one of your manually installed pre-requisites may be an older version and when it restarts it starts the regular automated installer, which is causing
the loop. Check the log for more specific errors. The installer creates the log in the following location %TEMP%\prerequisiteinstaller.<date>.<time>.log
