Hyper v 3 instance of SBS 2011 reboots at the same time, daily.

Hello Guys.
Got one that's really got me stumped!
HP DL 380P, dual processor - about 32 virtual cores, 8X 300Gb SAS, 2X R5 logical drives (1=3X300Gb, 2=5X300Gb). Host OS is Win 2012 full install (not R2). About 6 virtual guest, mix of Win 2008 R2, Win 2012 and Ubuntu. Main VM is SBS 2011 and it's VHD WAS
on the first logical drive with all other VMS on the bigger logical. since first logical was running out of space (bad estimate on install about 18mnths/2 years ago) and second logical was mostly empty, we had a bit of a move round. Now, SBS plus a few others
are on second logical and a couple of small servers are on first. These moves were performed in Hyper V Manager Console and there were absolutely no issues with the moves. Now, at a few seconds past 20:00 EVERY DAY, the SBS instance re-boots. I have been through ALL
scheduled tasks on ALL servers and absolutely nothing co-insides. There is nothing in any event log anywhere preceding the reboot that hints of any problems and no schedules AV scans. Backups are scheduled to run at or after 22:00 and all run OK. There are
no shadow copies happening except at 07:00 on the SBS (other end of day). No memory dumps are produced (mini or full). Oh, all firmware/BIOS updates were done about mid February 2015, but didn't fix it. All Windows/MS patches and updates have been applied.
I have re-visited the issue several times over the past month or two and can find absolutely no clues. I can only assume it is something external (e.g. other end of VPN or other non-server device on the LAN) that is trying to "communicate" with
the SBS in a manner to which it takes exception.
Greatly appreciate any suggestions before I raise an incident with MS.

Well, the server has stayed up and running.
The Only thing I can put it down to is that I disabled a scheduled task that is supposed to cause the server to BSOD/memory dump when a specific event ID happens. We did this several months ago as GRT generation in CA D2D backup was causing the server to
become unresponsive and required "Turn Off" in Hyper V Manager. We scheduled a util called "NotMyFault" which was supposed to trigger when an event ID happened only during the D2d backup. That fault was cured long ago by an undocumented
config of afstor.ini, but the scheduled task was left in place. The task never triggered - or at least there were no events showing it had triggered and in the task history, the last time was a month ago. Funny though how it was the ONLY change I made yesterday
and the server stayed up. I will monitor for the next few days, and if the server is OK, then must conclude that it was the cause. I suppose I could re-enable it at some point to prove the point.

they are all client machines and not on a ups. funnily you should say that though as i have had a few problems with power around my workplace. random plugs just not working at verious times.
im starting to think maybe we have sudden surges in the morning when they start up. i have 110+ computers.

Why do 3 instances of Firefox open at the same time?

Every time I start up Firefox, 3 different instances of Firefox will open at the same time. Do I need to uninstall it and start over? I don't know why this is happening. When I open IE8 only one page opens; but when I open Firefox 3 tabs open at the same time.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.<br />

I cant start 2 Virtual machines at the same time in a Hyper-V enabled machine

I have installed Windows 2008 Enterprise edition. Updated all patched from windows updated. Add the Hyper-V role and installed Windows 2003 in one Virtual Machine and Windows 2008 in another. After the first VM installation itself i had the problem as the below error was coming ibn.
I has to shutdown the Windows 2003 to install Windows 2008.
Now i can only run 1 OS at a time. Shut down 1 to start the other

I have both the vm's created in different drives. E drive is my DVD drive....
I renamed them,Reinstalled OS, Created a new set of vm's after the first i get the error
It works fine if i stop 1 vm and install the other or stop 1 and start the other...Running both at the same time is the problem

Assume that i have 10000 PSD files in 10 different folders
I have a script that just save as them as PNG
And these files are each 3000x3000 px
My computer has 8 cores and 1 photoshop exe is only using 1 cpu core
Also i have SSD raid system it has 750 mb read write per second
So right now i am wasting my time with running only 1 photoshop exe instead of at least 4

I'm not aware of a way to run multiple instances or different versions of photoshop at the same time on windows.
Assuming of course they are all installed on the same operating system.
On mac versions you can running two different versions of photoshop at the same time, but i don't think that's possible on windows where it
appears that only one version of photoshop can run at a time.

I am using Indesign CS3 to generate the bulk reports automatically(programmatically) using Adobe indesign library . One of the key limitation to this tool is it allows to open only one instance at a time unlike word where multiple instances can be opened at the same time. Is there any adobe indesign too version desktop/server which allows to open multiple instances at the same time. Any help on is appreciated. Thanks.

I thought that meant you had read the EULA. It's pretty unambiguous on that point.
For everyone's edification about multiple installations and server use with a standard license here's the relevant text:
2. Software License.

There is also language stating that if you have a dual boot or other system capable of running more than one OS you will need a separate license for each platform if you want to run the software on more than one.

Dear Experts,
I have 500+ Win7 VMs in Hyper-V 2012 R2. I'd like provide my guys to access these Win7 VMs' console using Virtual Machine Connection (VMConnect) w/ Enhanced Session Mode. My guys are simple workers. I assume they may execute a bat file(vmconnect [<Servername>
<VMName>]) from the command prompt, then access their Win7 VM console and copy/paste into the virtual machine. So, there may be 500+ Win7 VMs are interacting with like physical computers. My question is if Hyper-V 2012 R2 have limitation when the

Avoid 2 instances of a BPEL process executing an activity at the same time?

Is there a way I can avoid execution of an activity from two or more different instances of the same BPEL process at the same time?
I would like to know if I can lock the activity across BPEL instances so that only one instace can execute an activity at a time?
Kindly give me possible ways I can achieve this? We are using BPEL PM 10.1.2.

the idea behind a singleton is you can only make one instance of the process. In the process you can handle the sap-activity.

I have a Problem, after the installing from Acrobat Testversion and acrobat reader in version in "all Combination" 8 an 9.
I get this misstake information "you can not use multiple instance of Program at the same time" if I want open more then 1 .pdf.
If I have no pdf open, but acrobat/reader so i can´t open with the same Misstake.
I have deinstalled and installed, Allways I bekame the same information. I tryed all things to clean and know i don`t know forward.
Important: by Drag an Drop in the Acrobat Reader it is going, but by direct click on the pdf i get mistake.
Maybe, you know what I can do!

Installation of both Acrobat and Reader in the same Windows machine is not advisable. If I were you, I would remove both completely and then reinstall the one you want to keep.

Cat3750 stack, sw-upgrade without rebooting the whole stack at the same tim

i've gout a question regarding catalyst 3750 stack software upgrades.
is there any possibility to do a software upgrade to the stack without rebooting all stack
members at the same time?
i tried to do this manually with "archive download-sw /overwrite"
(without using /force-reload or /reload parameters) and then reboot one of the two members
in the stack. the remaining switch correctly becomes the Master. But when the member with the
new software comes up again, a version missmatch is detected (by the switch running the old sowftware) and the upcomming switch stucks in the boot process.
so everything i tried, i've got a network down for the whole stack.
we have a scenario where servers are connected to both members of a stack (for REDUNDANCY and
bandwidth aggregation). it would be nice if' there's any procedure to do an upgrade in the stack without
losing both connections to our servers at the same time...

thanks for your reply. i tried your described procedure, but with no success.
rebooting both switches, regardless which software the have in their flash, will interrupt the connected servers, because both links (to the stack) are going down at the same time (to achieve this, its easier to use the standard procedure as described in the config guide).
the idea with a seperated sw-download with different feature-set's sounded interesting for me in the first moment.
unfortunately it doesn't work too. after the sepedated download to the switches as soon as i reboot one the switches to load the new software, the other becomes (or stays) master of the stack. once the rebooted switch with the new software comes up again, the mastes displays a version mismatch (and the upcoming switch stucks in operation, awaiting the pretended correct software).
at this stage i can only reboot the master switch which results in complete outage of the stack (the upcoming stucking switch reboots too).
i have posted the question in the "ask the expert, high availability.." threat too, so maybe the expert has an idea to accompish this task ;-)

I need to run two web apps at the same time in JDeveloper. Each on must run in its own OC4J instance, in different ports. I don't want to run a remote OC4J instance, I want two embedded instances and JDeveloper 10g comes just with one.
Wny ideas?

no, there is only one embedded OC4J instance possible. The option is to install OC4J stand alone locally.

I have two HP proliant dl360 servers. We are trying to set up one as a file server. Can we install a copy of Windows sbs 2008 on both machines (we have the license) in the same network

Every one is quite right you can not install SBS2008 on both machines. Only 1 server on a network can have SBS on it.
However all you need for the second file only server is Server 2008 (it doesn't need to be SBS)
Things to investigate
1. If you have a license for SBS2008 you may run Server 2008 on other servers with no additional client licenses (if you install server 2008R2 or higher on a second or more servers, you will need both SBS2008 and Server 2008R2 client licenses for each user)
So client licenses are sorted
2. If you already have 2 copies of SBS2008 for install, you may find you can downgrade SBS2008 to server 2008 (you will need to double check this, but generally means you can install Server 2008 without having to spend the extra money as you already have
paid for the SBS2008)
3. You may find a old retail copy of Server 2008 on ebay you can buy
Generally the solution to this is, SBS2008 goes on the most powerful server, and is set up as the domain controller, exchange etc.... then on the second server you just install Server 2008 and join it to the domain to be controlled by SBS2008 server, you
don't need to worry about extra CALS, as long as you stay Server 2008 or under
You then set up this second server independently with backups, shadowcopies and shared folders
Group policies for both are configured on the SBS box so you can set up predefined mapping etc
The difficulty you will have is obtaining the old software
If you uses SBS2011 you can use Server 2008R2 and before with no additional CALS
CALS relate to the core OS used, in SBS2008 it is 2008 in SBS 2011 it is 2008R2
