Hyper-V bridge (Wi-Fi external network) stopped working

Well, that: Used to work, had to remove it. I added it back a couple of hours later and now it isn't working.
I can bridge the connections and Wi-Fi seems to connect. But the other connection won't work on the parent OR child machine. I also tried a "regular" bridge with the same result; doesn't seem related to Hyper-V itself but to networking.
I'm not sure where to start looking what went wrong. Seems the bridged adapter is not getting anything from the Wi-Fi at all (doesn't even recognize the network or get IP).
I don't need a workaround, I just need to troubleshoot what got messed up with the network bridge. Please, any help will be welcome.

  • [Solved]Vbox 3.1.2 - Bridged networking stopped working on Arch guest

After upgrading Virtual Box to 3.1.2 (both ose and puel versions apply here) bridged networking stopped working on an Arch guest which I use as a test server.
    While writing this post I solved the problem. What I did was to enable NAT on the first adapter and Bridging on the second. After booting into to the guest I did the following;
    # ifconfig eth1 up
    # dhcpcd eth1
I shutdown the guest and removed the NAT adapter so only the bridged one remained, booted it and voilá for some mysterious and unfathomable reason bridging now works again.

But to be honest I have no idead what I am doing here people so please any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    P.S.

  • External Speaker stopped working - get sound through headset

I have a Zire 72.  The external speaker stopped working.  If I listen to music or voice memos through a headset, I can hear the message so the programs are working.  I have tried a soft reset but no results.  Has anyone had this expierience?  Sounds and alerts all set to high in preferences.
    Thanks.
    Post relates to: Zire 72

The speaker cutoff switch may be stuck in the headset jack.
    Try this procedure.
Turn the Z72 off. Get a non-conductive electrical contact cleaner (Home Depot has this in the electrical dept.)
Spray a few drops on the headset plug.
Insert and remove the plug in the headphone jack 5-10 times.
Wait several minutes for the cleaner to dry.
Power on the Z72 and see if the speaker works. If not, try the procedure again.

  • External speakers stopped working when Yosemiti was down loaded

My external speakers stopped working when I downloaded Yosemiti! how can I remedy this?

Dunno what it has to do with Yosemite, but:  press the alt/option key, while clicking on the speaker icon at the right hand top of your screen. This will show you all the sound inputs and outputs for your mac. Ensure that it is set to "Line Out" or "Digital out" (depending on your speaker's capabilities. Hopefully
    that works

  • External Speakers stopped working on Imac

External speakers stopped working.   Verified speakers operating with Iphone.   Checked that speakers plugged in correctly.   Tried usual power cycling step.   External speakers do not show up in sound preferences.    Anyone with any advice?
    Thanks,

If you unplug the speakers to the internal speakers work OK? If not try  resetting the system PRAM see Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
If they still don't work or if the internal works OK then look into the speaker plug. Do you see a red light? There is a switch inside the plug that detects the presents of a  jack and sometimes it gets stuck or breaks entirely.
You could try gently using a non-conductive device (a toothpick is good) probing inside the plug to see if you can free the switch. Of course this could be harmful if done incorrectly. If the system is still under warranty you might want to take it to have it looked at.

  • Left external speaker stopped working

Left external speaker stopped working, right works fine. When I connect headphones, they work fine. Have tried two different sets of speakers, deleted plists and reset pram. Please help!

Hmm. I think its not a sound card and its not a speaker problem because both parts (left speaker and sound card) seems to be ok as you have posted in your message.
Im not quite sure what could be wrong but possibly this issue has something to do with the headphone jack there is a tiny switch inside the headphone jack which enables and disables the speakers if the headphone jack has been plugged.
Maybe this switch does not work properly.
What to say in such case the hardware needs to be replaced but in most cases the headphone jack is a part of the motherboard and in such case the whole mobo needs to be replaced and I think this is not worth because of the high parts costs

  • My phone fall down and suddenly the network stopped working can't find for any coverage, And I already reset the all settings and network settings!!! plz help me

my phone fall down and the network stopped working can't search to any coverage

It is not properly connected to the network.
Make sure location is set correctly
DNS should be on auto (settings - general - network)
    Try ethernet
Signal strength on device won't account for issues, you would need a network report from istumbler, netstumbler or similar. This will show accurate signal strength along with noise and nearby networks

  • TC guest network stopped working after last update

Hi, I got the new 2TB TC. And it was working fine. Since I updates it to 7.7.3. The guest network stopped assigning IPs. I can see it and change the settings but I can't join it anymore. It was working fine before.
I Am setting it from iOS devices not a Mac.
The TC is in bridging mode.
I Also tried restoring it to default settings.
Any ideas how to fix this?
    Thank you.

I had it working right out of the box when I bought it, there was no double NAT warning or error message, unlike now I have to ignore the double. NAT error message for the light on the TC to turn back to green again.

  • Network stops working in Tecra M9 with Vista OS?

We have four Toshiba tecra M9 (2.2ghz T7500 processor) laptops with factory installed windows vista business version and one with fresh non toshiba installation of Vista Ultimate version. All these laptops have exactly same problem.
Network sometimes stops working and nothing but restarting computer helps?
Thing is that usually you cant event restart computer because it hangs to logging off or to shutting down state.
Theres no clear reason to this hang and it happens now and then.
Sometimes many times a day and sometimes it works for days. Doesnt matter if you are docked or undocked. We have several desktops pcs and other brand laptops with exactly same configuration/programs and no problems.
Any help would be great because users are not very pleased to this situation and we wouldnt want to change back to windows XP (which is working in M9 without problems).

All vista updates are installed to all these computers. BIOS is newest 1.50 that is available from web site. Toshiba Value Added Package for Windows Vista (v1.1.7; 12-14-2007; 38.89M) package is only new driver that has released from Toshiba since purchase of these machines. Four factory installed Vista M9 models have original driver versions (not sure if they are newest ones). One Vista Ultimate has drivers downloaded from Toshiba support site and it even has Vista Servicepack 1 RC-1 version installed.
I installed that new value added package two days ago and no networks hangs yet but still have to wait because it might work for week and then start hanging again.

  • SOLVED: W510 Wired Network Stops working

I had a problem with a W510 I ordered with Windows 7 32 bit. At random times, the exclamation point icon would appear over the network icon in the system tray, and the network adapter would no longer be recognized. I could use the built in Windows facilities to reset the adapter, but it would quickly fail again. The only cure was to restart the machine, which was annoying. Wireless networking was not affected - just the wired Ethernet connection.
I downloaded the latest drivers from the Lenovo site and that did not fix it. I have had numerous Thinkpads over the past 12 years and have NEVER had any sort of hardware fault before, so I doubted that it was a hardware fault. Therefore I wiped the machine clean and installed 64 Bit Windows 7 instead.
The first problem I had after installing Win7 x64 was that the internal USB controller was not recognized by Windows. Therefore, USB devices (i.e. my thumb drive with all the x64 Lenovo drivers on) were no longer recognized. Therefore, I burned the x64 drivers to a CD and used that instead.
All the devices including the USB controller then came to life, and it looks like the problem has been completely solved.
I post this, in case anybody else has such a problem.

I just started seeing this issue with my pen silo.  The Wacom tablet component has completely stopped working, and I'm seeing "USB device not recognized" every time I insert and draw out the pen.  My guess is that all the peripheral components in the tablet are connected to the motherboard via crappy silver trace ribbon cables, and they're susceptible to the tiniest amount of flex, heat, and disruption.
Since the USB device is, at least in my case, still operating well enough to report that it is having trouble, I'm guessing that the issue is transient, but that doesn't fix my problem - and probably won't fix yours.  I'd recommend getting a refund.
Here's how to see if the device is reporting a problem:
    1) Wait until you see the "USB device not recognized" message again.
    2) CTRL+X -> Device Manager
    3) Other Devices -> double-click "Unknown device"
    4) Go to "Details" tab
    5) Select "DevNode status" from the drop-down; the Value pane will have DN_HAS_PROBLEM on one of the lines.
    6) Select "Problem code" from the drop-down; the Value pane will likely show "0000002B", or Microsoft USB problem code 43 in decimal.

  • External monitor stopped working after 10.6.7 update

I have a MacBook Pro, model identifier MacBookPro6,2 with an NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M.
When I updated last night from 10.6.6 to 10.6.7 I stopped being able to use my Dell S2409W external monitor.
I have tried resetting the pram, resetting the SMC, booting with extensions off.
When I plug in the cable to the external monitor the Mac screen goes blue for about 0.5 second and re-appears but nothing displays on the external monitor; a second monitor is not listed in the Display preferences and the monitor reports that it is not receiving a signal.
I don't see anything in the system.log when I plug or unplug the monitor cable (I'm not sure if I should).
At random intervals while the external monitor cable is plugged in the screen goes blue for a half second and then re-appears.
The screen does not go blue if I wiggle or flex the monitor cable.

I see this in the windowserver.log after reboot, login with shift-key, and the external monitor connected.
There might be a clue here but I don't have anything to compare it to since I haven't collected these data when the external monitor was working.
I'd be curious to see the same data from the windowserver.log for somebody else with a MacBook Pro with an external monitor connected that does work.
You can view this log with the console application located: /Applications/Utilities/console.
If you are willing to share these data please reboot, and hold the shift-key down when logging in to disable extensions (thanks). If you look at the time just when the desktop appears when you end up looking at the windowserver.log you'll be able to see the windowserver starting up about 10 seconds prior to this time.

  • After LR 5.3 update external editors stop working.  PS , NIK collection

I updated lightroom from 5.2 to 5.3 and my external editors NIK and Photoshop CC stop working. I click on them, but nothing happens the applications do not open. In the case of Photoshop I make sure that I had everything updated including camera raw to match lightroom's 8.3

OMG!!! Thank you so very much!!! I went ahead and checked in preferences and the store preset was unchecked, so I checked it "on" to see what would happen.  It took NIK off the edit tab, but it still showed photoshop, so I clicked on Photoshop and it worked!! The file was exported to Photoshop, so I went back again and unchecked the box and the NIK collection came back to the edit tab and it started working!!! So thank you so very much!!!

  • External Display Stopped Working

I've been using an external Dell 19" monitor with my beloved and faithful Macbook Pro for years.  All of a sudden, I was unable to select the propert setting for the external monitor.  Two days later the monitor stopped working altogether when plugged into the Mac.  The Mac screen acts like the other monitor is working, but there's nothing on the external screen.  The Dell monitor tries repeatedly to turn on, but the power button repeatedly changed from amber to blue while saying it's entering power save mode and never turns on.  I've tried changing screen savers as recommended on another forum to no avail.  I also ordered a new mini-DVI to AVG connector in the hopes that is the issue.  I've confirmed that the Dell monitor still works fine by connecting it to my old PC, so that's not the issue.  Any advice is appreciated.  I read copy for a living and really need the larger display.  Thanks!
