Hyper-V Error - Never Before Seen - Google Doesn't even know

Here's the Error
'VMName' failed to start worker process: no such interface supported (0x80004002)
I have no idea why this has occurred.. I'm away from home and this is on my home server... All VMs won't start... also any new VMs I create won't start... There's been no changes... I think there was a power outage though... I considered a windows update...
but none have been installed at all....
I won't install any updates just in case as that may only compound the problems..
The only things in the event logs are the messages with the above error.. it doesn't explain further and there doesn't appear to be any extra messages which give more detail.
The OS is Server 2012 R2 just running Hyper-V
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ryan,
"I think there was a power outage though..."
Based on my experience , it might cause some files corruption , my suggestion is running command "sfc  /scannow".
Here is a link referring to using sfc :

Hope this helps

  • A never before seen Conntrans Issue.

    Dear Mobile Heroes,
    I have been working with SAP CRM Mobile Sales since I was a boy, and I am now an incredibly old man, but never before have I seen this conntrans issue....
    (I am on version MSA 7.0 SP04 on a PC with OS XP SP3)
    All connections from MSA <-> Comm Station <-> CRM  seem to be fine.
    I have ASiteId'd fine.
    Running qmtcnfg (on mobile) works fine.
    Running qmtcnfg (on Comm St) works fine.
    Running Client Console 'Test adapter connection'  - test connection (on MSA) works fine.
    Conntrans App launches, but when I press 'Synchronise', after 10 seconds I get both 'send' and 'receive' in red, and then a pop-up dialogue saying
    "GUI MFC Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
    WTF!
    Has anyone seen this before? How do I fix this?
    Regards,
    Richard

    Yes, I had exactly the same issue. What you have to do is check the connection string on the commstation and enter that string in QMTConfig (replace / overwrite <default>).
    I lost 1,5 days in my project to resolve this issue. In our case we had 2 commstations on one physical machine and the IP address alone could not point to the right commstation.
    Hope that helps.
    There is definitively no note which you have to apply.

  • Never-before seen icon on monitor

    PowerMac G4 running OS 10 starts making recurring and methodical chirping-whirring noises obviously coming from within the box. After usual startup noises and a lengthy wait (the noise stops somewhere in here) to boot, I get a screen image of the Apple logo. After a bit more waiting (seems like minutes), I get the universal Do Not Enter symbol of the O with a slash through it. I've never seen that before in any Mac dating back to the mid 1980s. The Mac won't boot beyond that. Any thoughts?

  • Never before seen problem?

    Hey all, new to this great forum, but here is my problem.
    I have a 3G 10GB ipod. When i try and turn it on the Apple logo flashes on about 5 seconds (I can hear the HD spinning) and it will make a clicking noise and the screen will flash, and the process begins all over again.
    Well, i tried reseting it by holding down play/select- didn't do a thing. I reloaded all software to try to resset it through my computer but the ipod is drained of power for the computer to even recognize it through the usb.
    So, i tried plugging it into the wall adapter and letting it charge. The apple logo still shows up and freezes while it is "charging" (I dont know if its even charging b/c the screen gives no indication it is). After about an hour in the wall adapter, I will unplug it and bring it to my computer to try and restore it, but by the time I bring it over from the wall to the computer-the ipod flashes a low battery sign and powers off.
    The computer is reading the ipod because a message will pop-up when it is first connected. So my problem now is that my battery basically won't charge?
    If you made it this far in my story, I appreciate it. Any help would be TREMENDOUS!

    When it's plugged in it IS charging--you just can't see that it is.
    If your iPod is generating a LOT of heat, it's possible the hard drive is toast :-/
    Try running diagnostics on your iPod. Here's instructions for getting to Diagnostic Mode: http://www.methodshop.com/mp3/ipodsupport/diagnosticmode/index.shtml.
    Run the HDD SCAN. It takes 15-30 minutes to complete. Let me know if it reads PASS or FAIL.

  • Never before seen screen at start-up?

    I don't quite know how to pose this question. When starting my Mac, I got a white screen with a flashing image of a Folder with a question mark in it ,in the center of the screen, where the Apple logo usually is. I held down the power button and restarted and it started fine then. This has happened twice now. Once when starting up from sleeping and once when starting up from completely off. Any suggestions or answers as to what this means?

    There's probably an issue with the startup disk in your system settings (or worse case scenario you may need to reinstall everything on your hard drive).
    You can read more here:

    You could also try running the system hardware test from the DVD that came with your computer.

    Lately I have been getting a rectangular screen titled Login Setting, with my Username and Password and asking me to Login.  This screen shows up on opening the computer and has never been seen before the last month or so.  It has one box titled Login Credentials with a username and password field and a second box titled Login Status at the bottom where it says "Profile not found" in red.   I've never seen this before and ignoring it does not effect any operations.   Is this legitimate or some kind of identity fishing?

    Hello,
    Have you done the recent Security updates?
    Is this from Sleep or on bootup?

    Flashback - Detect and remove the uprising Mac OS X Trojan...
    http://www.mac-and-i.net/2012/04/flashback-detect-and-remove-uprising.html
    In order to avoid detection, the installer will first look for the presence of some antivirus tools and other utilities that might be present on a power user's system, which according to F-Secure include the following:
    /Library/Little Snitch
    /Developer/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/MacOS/Xcode
    /Applications/VirusBarrier X6.app
    /Applications/iAntiVirus/iAntiVirus.app
    /Applications/avast!.app
    /Applications/ClamXav.app
    /Applications/HTTPScoop.app
    /Applications/Packet Peeper.app
    If these tools are found, then the malware deletes itself in an attempt to prevent detection by those who have the means and capability to do so. Many malware programs use this behavior, as was seen in others such as the Tsunami malware bot.

    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom

  • As of a few days ago, I can no longer import photos from my Nikon Coolpix s7c into iPhoto. Never before had a problem. (it is the version prior to iPhoto 11--all Apple software is UTD)

    As of a few days ago, I can no longer import photos from my Nikon Coolpix s7c into iPhoto '08. Never before had a problem.  I sent a request to Nikon for help and they referred me back to Apple.  Help, if possible, please.

    As the photos imported to the test library you know that it works with your version of iPhoto (so, you can skip the paranoia about Apple making you upgrade). The issue then is the Library, so
    Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download <a href="http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/"><b><u>iPhoto Library Manager</b></u></a> and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
    To create and populate a new *iPhoto 08* library:
    Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
    In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
    Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
    Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
    Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
    When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
    In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.
