Hyper-V Integration update not installing

I have Build 9926 and Hyper-V running.  I installed Win 7 SP1 (Guest OS) and did a full update / rebooted.  I am still not able to see the integration package as an available option.
So I setup a WSUS server and I see the package but it's not applicable to my win 7.  According to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3004908/, all I need to have for Win 7 is SP1.
Is there a bug that I am not aware of?
And for god's sake, don't tell me to upgrade to the latest version.  The client not installing the package so I want to know why the client is not working properly.

I tried the values:
HostingSystemEditionID = 4
HostingSystemOSMajor = 6
HostingSystemOSMinor = 4
I then tried the values you provided in your screenshot.  Still Windows Update from MS (Not my WSUS) says I'm fully up
to date.
Upon restarting the guest, the registry values were changed back to:
HostingSystemEditionID = 48
HostingSystemOSMajor = 10
HostingSystemOSMinor = 0
Still not able to install the package.
I am not able to find any further documentation on this.  Is there anything else I can try?
Thank you

  • Windows Updater Not Installing and Troubleshooter Wizard Is Not Working???

I am in need help desperately!
I have tried to install the Windows 7 latest update since late October 2014 and every time that I have tried it has failed, this is messing with certain programs to either not run such as my Troubleshooter,
leaving me unable to fix the issue, and making my computer to run poorly as well as when I am on Firefox unable to load pages, do downloads, watch movies & TV, or watch videos on You Tube without having to move the mouse around to keep it running and just
freeze the picture on the You Tube and Xfinity but the sound keeps playing though. I am unable to run the Troubleshooter Wizard at all; gives me an error code  0x80131018. I have gone to the forums to find a solution I tried everything possible. Such
as trying to do all the maintenance; disc clean ups, compressing files to save on space, checking the disc drives for errors, defragmenting the drives, try to use the Fix It (MicrosoftFixit.malware.RNP.1343648269423620.1.1.Run,  as well as: MicrosoftFixit.ProgramInstallUninstall.RNP.1343648269423620.2.1.Run,
as well as:  MicrosoftFixit.wu.FISC.1341772369343897.1.1.Run,   and:  MicrosoftFixit50123) all the these would not help.
I also tried to run what information I received from viewing options from the Error Code 0x80131018 and all the HP Support Assistant and Windows Help and Support. These are some of them;  SCUDownloader,
    Windows6.1-KB947821-v34-x64,   HPSupportSolutionsFramework-en-11.51.0048,   HPSupportSolutionsFramework-11.51.0048,   HP CoolSense Technology - sp65424,   HP Notebook System BIOS Update (Intel Processors) - sp55068,
HP Power Manager Utility Software - sp55151,   HP On-Screen Display Utility - sp55152,   HP System Diagnostics UEFI - sp52407, and    Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver - sp55101. All these with running the maintenance,
I also installed Boost, also ran the scans through my Norton Security, and so much more to try and fix this problem, I just can't remember everything that I tried I have been working so hard at solving this problem since of the effect of how this Windows Updater
failing at updating and Troubleshooter not working to leaving me unable to find and fix these issues.
I am a Graphic Design Artist and I am pretty computer savvy but I am at a loss on this . If anyone has any advise on these issues please help me ASAP, I use my HP everyday and it is important for
me to have it for work purposes, concepts and so much more. My Mother got this computer for me when I graduated from college in 2012 for my graduation gift so I can do what I do.
Thank you so much for your help in trying to get this resolved without having to take it into somewhere and pay $$ that I do not have.

I recently had a similar problem - Windows 7 Ultimate. Apart from updates not installing and troubleshooters not running I started getting crashes and BSOD's
I checked that my Cryptographic services was set to auto (it was)
Press the 'Windows key" and and key "R" together   to launch the  RUN  box. Type
services.msc in the box and press Enter. It'll open Services Manager.
Scroll down to  "Cryptographic Services" in the list. It should be set to Auto ( mine was)
I then checked my Windows updates to see when the problem started
Taking the bull by the horns I deleted the last 20 updates installed.
I restarted the computer and was amazed to find the troubleshooters working ok
I downloaded the Windows updates and installed them 5 at a time checking the troubleshooter after each batch. Everything was ok .
I can only assume the troublesome update was not re-offered or the one that installed itself was corrupt.

  • EAS Updater Not Installing

Anyone encountered EAS Updater not installing properly.  In the documentation to verify In VersaMail, press Menu . From the Options menu, select Preferences, then select AutoSync. There is now an option for "As items arrive."  I don't see this on the Treo.  Any ideas?

I've heard about several different versions of VersaMail (e.g., 3.0/3.1 on the Treo 650; 3.5 update; 4.0 on the Centro). You might check and see whether you have the correct installation instructions for your version.

  • System updates not installed/downloaded

I noticed in the ThinkVantage Systemupdate history several Windows 7 updates that did not install or download, but I am not able to select them from the history to try again. Why do Windows updates not install and hoew can I move the failed installations back into the upgrade list?

It is possible that in the meantime, Windows Update downloaded and installed the same updates, which would cause TVSU to not detect it as there is no need. Check in the Windows Update history for the same updates.

  • New Hyper-V machine will not install guest OS from ISO image. Your PC ran into a problem.....

Thanks for any help in advance....
Here's the scenario.  I have a new Dell PE R630.  2012 Standard R2, fresh install.  All drivers and updates are installed.  When booting a newly created VM from an ISO of 2012 R2 Standard, attempting to install the OS on the VM,
I get the blue screen of "Your PC has run into a problem" screen.  It just loops over and over again.
I've tried Generation 1 VM and Generation 2 VM.  I've disabled Secure Boot in "Bios" on the Generation 2 VM.  I've tried different ISO files.  I've tried disabling all integration services.  I've tried just about every single
settings change there is to try with the same result.
In the Bios of the hardware R630, I checked that Virtualization is enabled.  I looked for any other settings that could be off, but don't see anything out of the ordinary.
I don't know what else to try. Thanks to anyone with input.
    -Josh

    Hi Sir,
I would suggest you to  :
    1. check if there is any power saving mode was enabled on R630 BIOS .
    2. check hyper-v host "Power Options" selected "High performance" .
    3. please try to disable " NUMA spanning " in hyper-v settings .
Then install OS for VM again .
In addition , please check hyper-v host's event log to see if there's any error recorded :
    "event viewer / applications and services logs / microsoft /windows / hyper-v* "

  • SCCM 2012 Software Updates not installing (bothh Windows patches & 3rd party updates)

Using SCCM 2012 R2, I am having a problem getting Windows updates to install.  Applications published to people work, and basic software installations published to machines for a straight install work.  However, both Windows patches and Adobe patches
fail to install on clients. I have imported the Adobe catalog into SCUP, and publish through WSUS. I can see the Adobe patches and Windows patches in SCCM, and can publish them. However, in deployment status out of 4 machines in my test group the Windows patches
installed on 1 and the other 3 are still in Unknown status with category of "Client check passed/Active". However, none of them are installing the patch - they don't even seem to try.  All of those are Windows 7 PCs, incidentally. On Adobe patches,
one PC fails and the other 3 machines still sit in Unknown status.  Certificates are distributed,
Any ideas what might cause the deployment to not push some targets, even when it's past the deadline?
    Thanks,
    Andy Maslin

An unknown status means that the clients are not reporting back to ConfigMgr correctly. This is often due to the WUA not pointing at the correct WSUS instance. You can verify this by examining the WUAHandler.log on one of those clients and it will clearly
indicate an issue with this which in turn is often due to a group policy overriding the ConfigMgr behavior.

  • Adobe Acrobat 8 - file updates not installing on Win 7 Professional

How do I install MSP file updates to Adobe Acrobat after downloading them? I have just installed Acrobat 8.0 from the original installation CD on a new PC running Windows 7 Professional (64 bit) and have downloaded the update to 8.1.0 to begin with, but on clicking it get the error messsage 'This patch could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package'. Updater is not working at all. It says it cannot find any updates. Even when I place the MSP file in the Updater folder to which it is supposed to download updates, it does not find updates. What is wrong? Why won't this patch install? Thank you! I really don't want to be stuck with 8.0.0 when I know that years of updates through to 8.3.1 are available, but for some reason they will not install intuitively.

    Hi ,
Acrobat 8 is not compatible with Win 7. Please find the mentioned Kb: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/system-requirements-acrobat-family-produ cts.html#main_System_requirements_for_Acrobat_8_Pro showing system requirement for installing Acrobat 8. As Acrobat version 8 is very old product so I would recommend you to purchase Acrobat11 which has more enhanced features and functionalities.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 - Updates not installing

    Hi all,
I have a SCCM 2012 R2 setup at a customer which has problems with distributing updates to the Windows 7 computers in the environment. The update group (with updates that are 100% sure required) is deployed to some test computers but the updates don't get
installed. It is also configured to be able to install the updates without looking at any maintenance windows.  I see in the reporting that the updates are required, so in my opinion they should get installed.
I've checked the registry and the Windows Updates registry keys are pointing towards the right server (my SCCM primary site server). I've created a new software update group with fewer updates, same problem.
What I find in the UpdatesDeployment.log on one of the test machines is rather strange:

The SERVICEWINDOWEVENT events originate from the business hours set in the client settings I suppose?

    Hi,
What's the status in Software Center on clients?
Please check ScanAgent.log, WUAHandler.log, UpdatesHandler.log and Windowsupdate.log on the client to see if there is any helpful information.

I, too have the same problem with Windows 8.1, only it's 12 updates, not 11.
The following will not install (It says they were installed.  It also says they were "not needed")
Security Update for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (KB3023562)

The update settings were set to automatically install, but I changed them to download automatically and install manually, and deleted the SoftwareDistrubution/Download folder contents to re-download the updates.
    They don't re-download.
The log says the last updates were installed 1/24/2015 (which should be correct), and no new updates have been installed for this cycle.
Windows Update is running correctly.  This is the only Win 8.1 machine in the network with this issue (Mixed OS network with about 8 Win 8.1 machines).  All other Win 8 machines have installed THESE UPDATES successfully.  There are no known
    differences in configuration between them.
    Thoughts to fix this?

  • Java update not installing

The latest update from mac "Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 4" "Version 1.0" is not installing. The software update is downloaded then at the point of installation it comes up with a message saying that the update installation failed.
Also I have just started noticing my macbook pro is getting very hot when running simple applications and that the battery fails when it still says it has 20 minutes life left. This has only started recently after the last macbook update and has got progressively worse.
Any help would with either issue would be great.

    HI,
Repair disk permissions. First, Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.
Launch Software Updates from the Apple Menu 
Follow the instructions for the Java installation. When it's finished, launch Disk Utility again, and repair disk permissions one more time and RESTART your Mac.

  • Updates not installing during Maintenance Window

    Hi,
I have a task sequence that runs on the weekends and when it runs it puts the server into maintenance mode so that updates can then be installed by the task sequence. I do this for about 40 servers and about half of them failed to install the updates. Before
the weekend I did verify that the updates were already available on the servers. I have been looking at many of the log files and the only thing I can find is the following:

Ok, we have these 40 servers in a collection with a MW set for the weekend on a Saturday. So we deploy the TS to this collection that is immediately available but with an assignment schedule 2 hrs before the MW begins. So the MW for the servers begins
at 5am and I have the TS set with an assignment schedule of 3am. The task sequence does not run until the service window is reached. But for these few servers it seems as though it never even runs or I get the errors above. Sorry maybe its just not clear enough
how it works in my environment. I just didn't know if there was something I was missing in the TS deployment etc..

  • Software updates not installed at shut down

I just used software update to download about 7 updates. It finished downloading and I shut down the computer. (I don't believe restarts work as well as a full shut down). Starting Up and re-running software update reveals no updates were installed. I just wasted 20 minutes downloading them. I know they are on the computer somewhere. How do I find them and install them?
    Thanks

I think you have been misinformed. The restart(s) are a part of the installation, and turning off the computer may have an adverse effect on the process. A restart is a "warm" reboot. An off/on is a "cold" restart. In most cases this may not matter, in some it might.
Starting Up and re-running software update reveals no updates were installed. I just wasted 20 minutes downloading them. I know they are on the computer somewhere. How do I find them and install them?
It's not easy to say what happened to them.
If they were lost, you need to reinstall them properly.
You might try a safe boot to clear anything out first.
As an aside, I never install more than one update at a time, especially those that require a reboot. And never when one is firmware related.
I also use a manual combo download for all OS updates.
If the updates do not reappear as autoupdates again, then you can either search for the boms and remove them, or download the updates manually from the Apple site.
Before doing anything I strongly suggest running a permissions repair.

  • Updates not installing on some computers

I am pushing IE9 to computers. I have ~800 of 1600 computers that have installed the update. On the machines that the update has not installed I can find the below in the UpdatesDeployment.log, which references the update, no other logs show it:
<![LOG[Raising client SDK event for class CCM_SoftwareUpdate, instance CCM_SoftwareUpdate.UpdateID="Site_07BE0050-1DAB-4F0B-BE99-524582FE38AF/SUM_83cbc483-0437-4808-8b90-871bc8d04e96", actionType 12l, value NULL, user NULL, session 4294967295l,

As the snip shows, this was detected on the 14th, 3 days later it still isn't installed on this system and doesn't show in the software center.
    83cbc483-0437-4808-8b90-871bc8d04e96 = IE9
I have checked the UpdatesStore.log, WUAHandler.log and UpdatesHandler.log for that entry and it doesn't exist. The system is still getting EP updates though. I don't see any errors in the logs either.

    Hi,
In addition, have you examine PolicyEvaluator.log on the client when you run the Action Softwares Updates Deploy, ent Evaluation Cycle manually? And the PatchDownloader.log?
    Best Regards,

  • Safari and firefox freezing, updates not installing

Last week I had a problem with my laptop freezing a lot so I shut it off and it wouldnt turn back on. I brought it to the Apple store and the guy found that some system updates were not installing properly and he said that may have been the problem. He re-installed the OS and it was fine. I have brought it home and am now discovering that it is still having problems. Here are the problems I am experiencing:
    1.  Both Safari and Firefox are constantly freezing (showing the spinning ball). Sometimes it lasts a few seconds, other times 30 seconds or more.
    2. I just downloaded some more system updates and when my computer re-started it said they could not be installed.
    3. My printer no longer works. It says I need to install software in order to print, said to get the system updates. Before I got my computer fixed I never had to install anything to use the printer, I just plugged it in and it printed no problems.

It sounds like you will have to create a external storage drive, copy your User file folders to it and remove all drives, then perform a
Restoring OS X - 10.6  "fresh install method"

May I note if you had previously made a clone and updated it from time to time, leaving it disconnected that you could have restored from it, even if your hard drive failed to function simply by holding the option key while booting. Would have avoided this "fresh install method" which is the hardest.
Please make a clone after the fresh install, you will be glad one day you did.
