Hyper V internal network no ping between real and virtual server

Hi
I have a 2012 server with a static 192.168.1.102 ip address and a 255.255.255.0 subnetmask. This server can be pinged by other servers.
On this server I have Hyper V installed, and configured a virtual
internal network switch.
In Hyper V, I installed a 2012 server, using the virtual internal network switch, with the static 192.168.1.111 ip address and 255.255.255.0 subnetmask. The virtual server can ping other virtual computers using the same virtual internal network switch.
However, the host server can't ping the virtual server and vice versa. What am I doing wrong? I there something else that needs to be configured?

Hi,
If you want to connected your guest vm and your host you must setting this vms to the same virtual switch and at the same subnet, the Hyper-V internal virtual switch can't connect the host directly.

    Hi,
While i am doing VA32 i got this message  plz advise me..
Internal error in communication between configuration and sales document
    in the form GET_CONFIG_MODE
    bit urgent  issue..
    Regards,
    San Rao.

    Hi
Pls check the OSS note 836097, which can solve your problem.
In my experience, I can tell you something
When configuration is done, the configuration object is stored in VBAP-CUOBJ for the item. For this CUOBJ, you can find the configuration in the tcode CUTABLEINFO or in tables IBIB, IBIN, IBEXTINST, IBINOBS,IBINOWN,IBST,IBSTREF,IBINVALUES.
If for the order if VBAP-CUOBJ is not available, then it will not be able to get the configuration. The error message in this case is V1 854 of message class V1.
You can search for some other OSS notes also using this error message and the form name.

  • Network Load Balancing between SharePoint 2013 App server and WFE

    Hi,
Can we do NLB between SharePoint 2013 App server and WFE Server ?
    Below is our Architecture,
    1. WFE Server (1)
    2. APP Server (1)
    3. Database Server
    4. Domain Controller
We have configured NLB but, when we stop IIS on APP server, SharePoint 2013 web app link is not working.
    is it possible ?
    Please help us

You can do NLB between WFE and APP server however make sure that web application service is started from central admin which host sharepoint sites.
Why do you stop IIS on APP server, definitely it will not be able to host web app sites. rather you can just disable APP node on NLB to test it.

  • How to create database link between oracle and SQL Server

    Hello Everyone,
Here i have Oracle Database 9i and SQL Server 2005 databases.
I have some tables in sql server db and i want to access from Oracle.
How to create a database link between these two servers
    Thanks,

    Thanks for Everyone,
I was struggle with this almost 10 days....
I created Database link from Oracle to SQL Server
    Now it is fine.........
Here i am giving my servers configuration and proceedure how i created the db link...@
Using Generic Connectivity (HSODBC) we can create db link between Oracle and SQL server.
    Machine (1)
    DB Version : Oracle 9.2.0.7.0
    Operating System : HP-UX Itanuim 64 11.23
    IP : 192.168.0.31
    Host : abcdbt
    Machine (2)
    Version : SQL Server 2005
    Operating System : Windows server 2003 x86
    IP : 192.168.0.175
    Host : SQLDEV1
    User/PW : sa/abc@123! (Connect to database)
    Database : SQLTEST (exsisting)
Table : T (“ T “ is the table existing in SQLTEST database with 10 rows)
    Prerequisites in Machine (2):
    a)     Oracle 10g software
    b)     User account to access SQL Server database (sa/abc@123!)
    c)     Existing SQL Server Database (SQLTEST)
    d) Tables (testing purpose) (T)
    Steps:
    1)     Install Oracle 10.2.0.1 (Only SW,No need of database) *(Machine 2)*
    2)     Create a DSN where your windows Oracle 10g SW resides *(Machine 2)*
Control panel >> Administrative Tools >> Data Source (ODBC) >> System DSN ADD
You can follow this link also.....
    http://www.databasejournal.com/features/oracle/article.php/3442661/Making-a-Connection-from-Oracle-to-SQL-Server.htm
    I created DSN as
    DSN name : SQLTEST
User : SA/abc@123! (Existing user account)
    Host : 192.168.0.175 (machine 2)
Already I have 1 database in SQL Server with the name SQLTEST
You can create DSN with different name also (not same as db name also)
    3)     Create a hsodbc init file in $ORACLE_HOME\hs\admin *(Machine 2)*
    Create init<DSN NAME> file
    Ex: initSQLTEST
    Copy inithsodbc to initSQLTEST
    And edit
    initSQLTEST file
    HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO = SQLTEST    <DSN NAME>*
    HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL = OFF*
    save the file....@
    4)     Configure Listener.ora *(Machine 2)*
    LISTENER_NEW =
    (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 192.168.0.175)(PORT = 1525))
    SID_LIST_LISTENER_NEW =
    (SID_LIST =
    (SID_DESC =
(SID_NAME = SQLTEST) *+< Here SQLTEST is DSN NAME >+*
    (ORACLE_HOME = G:\oracle 10g\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1)
    (PROGRAM = hsodbc))
    (SID_DESC =
    (SID_NAME = PLSExtProc)
    (ORACLE_HOME = G:\oracle 10g\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1)
    (PROGRAM = extproc) )
    :> lsnrctl start LISTENER_NEW
    5)     Configure tnsname.ora *(Machine 2)*
    SQLTEST11 =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 192.168.0.175)(PORT = 1525))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVER = DEDICATED)
    (SERVICE_NAME = SQLTEST))
    (HS=OK)
    :> tnsping SQLTEST11
    If No errors then conti….
    6)     Configure a file *(Machine 1)*
    Cd $TNS_ADMIN ($ORACLE_HOME/network/admin)
    Create a file
    $ vi TEST_abcdbt_ifile.ora
    something=
    (DESCRIPTION=
    (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST =192.168.0.175) (PORT=1525))
    (CONNECT_DATA=
    (SID=SQLTEST))
    (HS=OK)
    $ tnsping something
    $ sqlplus system/manager
Your connected to Oracle database *(machine 1)*
    create database link xyz connect to “sa” identified by “abc@123!” using ‘SOMETHING’;
select * from t@xyz;10 rows selected.

  • Difference between logical and virtual terms

    Hello,
This is not purely oracle question; but in documentation so many times we find 2 terms:
    A. Logical
    B.Virtual.
So what is the principle difference between logical and virtual? As I know physical is that which I can see and touch; while logical/virtual is that is imaginary. We say tablespace is logical not virtual; while Java Virtual Machine; not Java Logical Machine. So I want to know; what is the principle difference; why two words for an imaginary thing. Before posting question; I searched in google as “Difference between virtual and logical” but I couldn’t found the answer.
    Please quote your comments.
    Thanks & Kind Regards
    Girish Sharma

    Girish,
I wont say that I am correcting you as this is like that half glass full/empty thing.May be what I see is half empty , you would see the same as half full.
Well now coming to the explanation.I am saying honestly , I got more confused after reading your definitions. What do you mean by saing that tablespace is not virtual.I see it as purely virtual. We don't say it as virtual tablespace or logical tablespace but it is actualy logical/virtual, having no existance but just the definition right?
How can you say that the size of virtual is larger than logcial? The size of tablespace is actualy the sum total of size of datafiles. So it actualy becomes very larger right?Much larger than JVM which is of few megs only.
The point 3 totally knocked me out.I have no idea what you said.
Ok I tell you this.Just remember the definition that Hans gave already. If you ask me than its the best definition that we can have. Just remember this and if some one asks you more further than give them your point 3 definition and tell them understand this ;-).Please don'tmind I am just kidding. Its just semantics.Don't get lost into it.You will find many people using both the terms interchangibly. So its ok.I shall stick with Hans's defintion, simple and concise. There are lot more other topics to dig upon in oracle.I can mail you lots of them.Spend time on those.Don't think that I am demotivating you.I understand you asked only because you have a doubt. But we got a good resolution of it and beyond that, its not of much use to dig it atleast not in the technial terms.
    Cheers
    Aman....

  • Question about transfer between oracle and sql server

Could i program to transfer lots of data between Oracle and SQL Server quickly?
I have tried make two connection between two databases, but it took me lots of time to transfer data.
    How could I do it?
    Thanks

    Hi,
If you need to move data fast, then use the Oracle Migration Workbench to Generate SQL Server BCP data extraction scripts and Oracle SQL Loader files.
This is the fastest way to migrate the data.
In the Oracle Model UI tab of the Oracle Migration Workbench, right mouse click on the tables folder. there is a menu option to 'Generate SQL Loader ...' scripts. This will help you migrate your data efficiently.

  • Need to establish Connection between CRM  and   Virtual Directories.

    Dear All,
I am working for Telecom project.
I have one requirement that we need to establish Connection between CRM and   Virtual Directories.
This is existing in Access management system.( SAP EP environment )
The basic requirement is, with  SAP EP environment we are integrating 8 different application. But for all this Application we have a one more system called Access management system (like Basis in Sap). This will validate the user access and BP(Business Partner ) data for users who logon to a different respective application. For all this applications Company data (Master Data) has to provide from CRM and the changes took place for Company data in CRM will be updated in to Virtual Directories .For this service we need to establish Delta mode connection between SAP CRM and Virtual Directories.
Which is existing in Access management system .
Do we have any standard connectors from SAP CRM to connect and who we can achieve this .
Please let us know..Certainly there will be a reward points
    Thanks & regards.

  • Data sync between oracle and sql server

    Greetings Everyone,
Your expert views are highly appreciable regarding the following.
We at work are evaluation different solutions to achieve data synchronization between oracle and sql server data bases. Data sync i mentioned here is for live applications. We are runnign oracle EBS 11i with custom applications and intending to implement a custom software based on .NET and SQL Server. Now the whole research is to see updates and data changes whenever happens between these systems.
I googled and found Oracle Golden Gate, Microsoft SSIS, Wisdom Force from Informatica....
If you can pour in more knowledge then it's great.
    Thank You.

Most of the work involved has to be done through scripts and there is no effective GUI to implement OGG.However using commands is not vey togh and they are very intutive.
These are the steps, from a high level:
1.Get the appropriate GG Software for your source and target OS.
2.Install GG on source and target systems.
3.Create Manager and extract processes on source system
4.Create Manager and replicat processes on target system
    5.Start these processes.
First try to achieve uni-directional replication. Then Bi-directional is easy.I have implemented bi-directional active active replication using Oracle DBs as source and target. Refer to Oracle installation and admin guides for more details.
Here is a good article that may be handy in your case.

    GE26 & GE27 have been added in LAG2
    VLAN 1UP, 10T, 20T, 30T & 40T have joined the LAG
In VMware, a vswitch has been created, using the 2 NIC connected to the LAG; and a Virtual Machine Port Group has been created for each VLAN member of the LAG
In Windows 2012, the 4 Network adapters have been added (1 for each VLAN), but they cannot ping their gayeway
However, the interfaces receives correctly thei IP addresses (and options) from the DHCP server, via the DHCP relay of the SG300
I also following the configuration described in this link (http://it-erate.com/setting-lag-vmware-esxi-5-cisco-sg300/) but without any success.
Do you have any idea ?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Please make sure the load balance mode in VMware is Route based on IP Hash.
The default value is virtual switch port ID, which cannot work together with port-channel in upstream switch, as explained in:
    http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/virtual_networking_concepts.pdf
"Note: If you select either srcPortID or srcMAC hash, you should
not configure the physical switch ports as any type of team or
    bonded group."

  • JDBC Connection between Unix and SQL Server 2000

I have SQL Server 2000 installed in a pc as a data server and SQL Server 2000 JDBC Drive installed in a Unix machine. Both machines are connected and can ping each other. After setting up the environment data, I ran a test code to test the connection and got exceptions. ( I did the same process between a pc and the data server, it works well.)
Attached are the test code and error message. Hope someone can help me.

If it works from a PC and not from the Unix box then you may have a network issue of some sort, I.E. firewall not letting it through etc.
Try using telnet on the Unix box to see if you can connect to the sql server on the port that the SQL server is listening.
    E.G.
    telnet server_name 1433
You may need to change the port number to the one that the SQL server is using.

  • Configuration the connection between portal and srm server only via JDBC

    Dear all:
We want to implement the SRM server and present the supplier web/page in the portal server. Our SRM and portal server install in intranet network.
For internal employee use the SRM server and the Supplier access the portal server via Internet, we install Web Dispather in DMZ to exchange the HTTP request.
         Network TOP like this :
        SRM server--Portal||FireWall||-Web Dispatcher--Supplier
      (--Internal|firewall--|DMZ|-Internet )
The question is : Between DMZ zone and our internal network zone ,there is the firewall and it only allows JDBC protocol (SQL statements or result set) to pass. Other protocol and port could not pass this firewall.
So ,it seems that  no way to implement  this ,right? Or any other way to implement it ?

    thanks

  • CSMARS reporting ICMP traffic between hosts and Exchange Server

We recently added a CSMARS box to our infrastructure so it could correlate and report on our 4260's alerts. I've noticed that CSMARS is reporting on ICMP's from multiple hosts within our network sending ICMP packets to our Exchange server. The total amounts of packets are between 15 and 30 and then the ICMP's from the specific clients stop.
I know that Windows XP clients will send ICMP traffic to domain controllers in order to test connectivity and I'm wondering if we're seeing the same occurrence with our Exchange clients.
    Thanks,
    Javier

Hi, the signature that is firing is ICMP Flood
Signature ID: 2152/0. According to Cisco's site this signature should not fire under normal circumstances. However, when we first setup the IPS sensor it would deny all vpn users' access to our exchange server as the Win Nuke signature kept firing. Of course this was a false positive.
However, once I tweaked the CSMARS rule a bit the noise calmed down and it reported on two hosts that were trying to send ICMP floods to Google.
