Hyper V what to do to maintain?

Hello everybody
We sold an HyperV Cluster to one of our customers it was a promotion from HP. The customer got a 2 node cluster with a HP MSA on this we installed Windows Server 2008R2 and installed the Hyper V role.
On this there are several virtual machines running now our boss was able to persuade the customers that he needs a support contract or better a maintain contract.
We what do we need to main when this thing runs? :-) The system is not connected to the internet and it's not allowed to connect to it because it resides in a bank.
So the questions:
1) What to check (logs, paritions, CPU, RAM, Role?)
2) What to update? Windows Only other componets=
3) How to find out which updates are missing when i can't use the internet?
4) How to get the updates and how to bring them to the system and install?
5) Way to backup situation before install? Disaster Recovery?
I know this sounds stupid but i really don't know how to handle this.

I'm being a bit sarcastic here, but if you didn't know that stuff going in, why did you sell it? And then to make matters worse, you don't even provide the customer with the latest software (Windows Server 2012 R2).
1) What to check? Depends upon what you are looking for. Need more information.
2) What to update? Everything. Need to update VMs and hosts - operating system, applications, utilities, etc. No different than any other computer system.
3) Set up a Window Server Update Server in the environment. Then you just have to manually load the patches to that server and have all other servers look at the WSUS server. Does the bank prevent all systems from accessing the internet?
I set up a WSUS system with two NICs. One on the Internet and the other on the isolated network. Then I don't have to manually find updates, but it isolates the other systems from the network. Otherwise you have to manually pull them, put
them on USB and load them in.
5) Backup before install???? Don't you mean backup after installation? Windows Server Backup.
Your questions are very broad. Technical forums are good sources for getting answers to specific questions. It sounds like you need to take a series of classes to come up to speed in Windows Server management.

A BW datasource is a structure, which is created in the source system and replicated to the BW system. Maintaining a datasource in a source system is doing any changes related to the datasource. It could be adding/deleting fields or checking the flags in the datasource like the hide and selection flag. Also, if the datasource is provided in the LO Cockpit, changes can be made there too depending on how the extraction of data is made for that datasource. Extraction could be of flat file extraction or of multiple flat structures ie., hierarchies.
There are four types of DataSource:
1) DataSource for transaction data
2) DataSource for master data
      a. DataSource for attributes
      b. DataSource for texts
      c. DataSource for hierarchies
NetWeaver 7.0, a new object concept is available for DataSources. It is used in conjunction with the changed objects concepts in data flow and process design (transformation, InfoPackage for loading to the PSA, data transfer process for data distribution within BI). The object type for a DataSource in the new concept - called DataSource in the following - is R3TR RSDS. The new DataSource concept cannot be used for transferring data from external systems (metadata and data transfer using staging BAPIs), for transferring hierarchies, or when using the IDoc transfer method.

What to use to maintain strucuture: BufferedReader InputStreamReader UTF8?

I have a reader that reads from a utf8 xml file:

where as, when just writting out the string a/n/rb

whats going on here?

Im using alsova xml spy, but also occurs in note pad
writer: (using this writer with a string maintains the /r and /n so didn't think it was writer)
- note pad: when just the string is written, it contains [] (one char), (I assume this is /n) but when reading in from the xml source it does not contain /n ( no []'s )
- so assume there is something wrong with the reader??
I need those /n and /r to maintain structure

Hyper-V - What is the correct VMQ Adapter Setting

Hello all, I'm setting up three Win2012R2 servers as a three node hyper-v cluster. I'm using converged networking and am using 4 nics; 2 nics will be for an infrastructure nic team that supports Management, Cluster, Live Migration, and the guest
OSes. The other 2 nics will be used for a storage connection. After the 2 infrastructure nics are teamed, I want to set up the correct vmq settings on each of the two network adapters based on the processors that are in the server. I
have two 6-core processors in each server giving 24 logical processors. To prevent overlap in the processors that the vmq's will use, is this the best configuration?
set-netadaptervmq NIC1 -baseprocessornumber 2 -maxprocessors 6
set-netadaptervmq NIC2 - baseprocessornumber 14 -maxprocessors 6

I have the same setup.
Until I assign -baseprocessornumber 0 (vs 2) maxprocessors 6 the system will not utilize VMQ.
I receive the following error:
Failed to allocate VMQ for NIC 13DADF6A-8BFF-4648-A10E-D52BA691F126--D08CC85B-D4BD-4BC0-9D17-F70D6F1E01F4 (Friendly Name: Network Adapter) on switch B54E0E56-17D0-4468-8252-F315AA32CF16 (Friendly Name: VM). Reason - The OID failed. Status = An invalid parameter
was passed to a service or function.
Upon changing baseproc to 0, the VMQ's are utilized, but I receive a proc overlap error.
I am using Brocade 10G adapters with the latest drivers.
I have had a ticket open with MSFT for many months.

MacBook Pro Getting hot... what temperature should it maintain?

My MacBook Pro seems to be getting hot lately, the fans seem to 'idle' at around 2,200rpm, but the CPUA temperature is 65*C. This seems a little high to me. The temperature also seems to oscillate quite a bit. As i sit and type this, the fans have maintained 2,200rpm, but the temperature is starting to creep up to 68*C. It then goes above 70*C and the fans whiz up to 4,500 rpm or more until the CPU cools down again. Is this a firmware issue?

I have tried some tests, I could not beleive that I've never noticed the fans beforelast week and now they come on almost instantly. So I unplugged everything and turned the MBP on. This time, the fans were settled at below 2,000rpm, and the CPU temperature was 55*C. No fan noise, and noticably cooler chassis.
So I then started to plug things back in to see if they made any difference... power cable - no problem. iPhone - no problem. Firewire audio interface... ah ha!!! Temperature immediately starts to rise... reaching 65*C within minutes, with nothing else happening.
I did a few searches and found others with similar issues, however they were claiming it was an issue with the Firewire chip in the MBP. The people on such forums were complaining of an Agere chip.
So I restarted my MBP and hit COMMAND-S, the Firewire device mentioned in the text list was a Lucent ID 5901. So this appears to be a problem independant of the Firewire chip. Could it be an issue with the software? I have the latest drivers for my Firewire device (Presonus Firebox)

What views of Vendor should be maintained in MDM

Hi Experts,
During vendor data model what views should be maintained in MDM and what views should be extended in the respective systems.for egs:- vendor has views such as basic,purchasing ,finance etc.So as per SAP guidelines can anyone recommend me what all views should reside in MDM keeping performance factor in mind.Basically I need some SAP doc to advocate the fact.

If you want to get the Vendor data in MDM from R3, the ideal thing you can do is use the business content that has been provided by SAP for Vendor Master.

It will automatically cover all the fields pertaining to Vendor Master Data which should be taken into MDM.
If you still want to make any modifications, you can make the changes in the standard business repository for Vendor.
Take the repository from the zip fiel and keep in the Archive folder of the MDM server and Unarchive the repository.

In what all Hyper-V related scenarios SCSI 2 and 3 commands are fired.

I am performing Hyper-V operations on a remote disk which is added to the hyper-V.
What to know if SCSI 2 and 3 commands like register, reserve etc. gets fired during hyper-V operations like creating VM's, checkpoint etc.
Please share any other Hyper-V related operations that can trigger SCSI commands.

I got the same problem, than Anjan, only the char A, L, C, P, I, T are taken in accompt when I use the function RSKC_ALLOWED_CHAR_GET:

Server 2012 Clustered Hosts - How can I place a Hyper-V Guest in the DMZ?

I have 3 server 2012 hyper v clustered hosts. I've been recently asked to create a VM where external parties will have local admin rights. I've been resisting things for a variety of IMO valid security reasons. What I'm trying to understand is if it would
be possible to build a guest VM that was not part of our domain and put in our firewalls DMZ zone. In this way these folks could be local admins but there's be no connection with the internal network.
In a single host environment if I'm understand things correctly I'd create a external type virtual switch, connect it to a specific physical network card on my host and then connect that card to my switch's DMZ port. But my environment is clustered... does
that mean I'd designate a physical network card on all 3 hosts, connect them to all the same named external virtual switch and plug all 3 in to DMZ ports on my firewall? Could I also instead of plugging all 3 in to DMZ ports on my firewall plug all 3 into
some little rinky dink 4 port gigabit switch and then plug that in to my firewall's dmz port?

When your guest vm using the external vswitch, it can be considered as the physical host, therefore it has the physical network features, in the DMZ zone we often create the
decided subnet for the security reason. Therefore the decide NIC is needed, it will used for the Hyper-V host VLAN settings.
When considering Hyper-V for server consolidation in a DMZ it is recommended not to run VMs of vastly differing trust levels on the same physical host in production environments
(i.e. do not consolidate all DMZ boxes on one physical host).
Instead, the recommendation is to consolidate all the front-end boxes on one physical server and do the same for the back-end, depending on the workloads.

How Do You Maintain OS X?

Yea. I'm not sure there's any one good way to maintain a Mac. I've been supporting Macs for a few years now, and have discovered nothing works better than a solid knowledge of OS X and your applications. Around here, most problems are app-specific. Problems with PDF or Postscript settings, corrupt preference files, stupid users, corrupt Entourage dbases, silly users, network issues, etc.
For the most part, our OS X systems are very solid, rarely having system-level issues. It's our old OS 9.2 systems with Quark that tend to break down daily.
Diskwarrior is a great tool. So it Cocktail and Onyx. Probably the best thing you can do to make sure a system keeps running is to keep the number of variables low. Install the apps you need, then don't mess with it. Don't install tons of third party software or extensions that screw with the internals of OS X. Don't upgrade software mid-project, and make sure you have a reliable backup system. If you're worried about hardware, you can run Hardware Tests, or just check the SMART status of your drives periodically.
Basically, good systems support is born from experience and paranoia. And remember, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

BDC ---Data maintainance at flat file

Iam a BI resource learning ABAP.
I have started learning abap in that currently working with BDC.
Here iam trying to extract data from flat file(note pad) for practice purpose and extraxting data by session method fore ground process.
Here in flat file i want to maintain two table of data and want to insert this data in related tables.
i have created note pad file
for vendor data and customer data have maintained data horizontally like
lifnr    name1     land1     kunnr    name1   land1
1      xx               US      2        yyyy            UK
Finally the data is geting inserted in the lfa1 and kna1 table are like
lifnr 1 record s at vendor table and kunnr2 record is at customer table.
but now i want to maintain data at note pad as in vertical like
lifnr    name1     land1 (not maintaining these fileds in note pad only values giving in note pad)
1      xx               US
kunnr    name1   land1
2        yyyy            UK
So is there any way to maintain my data in note pad like this.
please advice.

I hope i understood you well, you want to maintain many records in your flat file you are still able to pick them all. Please elaborate what you mean by maintaining your records in vertical format???
Vendor file
1,200,ABC,02
2,200,DEF,02
Customer file
1,200,QWE,02
2,200,SDW,02
The two sets of data seem to be different ie Customer and Vendor thus i think you should maintain the two as separate files and pick both at the same time.

What Oracle Table contains Partition Key Field Name?

What Oracle table/view maintains the partition key field name?
All_Tab_Partitions does not appear to maintain such information.
When I use Toad -> Schema -> Tables -> Partitions, it lists the partition key field name that the partition is based.

Yes you can copy the conditions from STO into delivery. For this you need to have the same condtion types defined and also need to write routines in SD pricing.
