Hyperion Analyzer 7.x to System 11.1.2 Web Analysis

Dear All,
Is there any approach to migrate Analyzer report from 7.x to 11.1.2 or 11.1.1.3 ???
I found that Oracle supports Hyperion Analyzer 6.5, 7.0.1, 7.2, or 7.2.1 to System 9.

The Reporting and Analysis migration tool is shipped with 11.1.1.3 and the documentation lists that it supports v7 Web Analysis. It just connects from the source relational database to the target.

I would give that a try.
You should always backup your Hyperion_Home and the reporting relational database if you need to revert.

Hi,
I have a traffic lighting issue here. I have accounts in rows and periods in columns.
I want to appy traffic lighting on one period over the previous. However since expense and revenue behave differently, I want it to apply differently on different accounts in comparison with previous periods.

Best bet is to complete the variance in Essbase itself using @VAR/@VARPER and expense reporting flag to ensure that variance is evaluated correctly.
You can then traffic light on the results in WA.

Hyperion analyzer installation issue

Hi,
I am installing Hyp analyzer 7.2.5. Can any one tell me ..why the below warnings are arising
The InstallShield Wizard has successfully installed Hyperion Analyzer 7.2.5. Choose Finish to exit the wizard.
However, the following warnings were generated:
*Could not use FileService to add required bytes : ServiceException: (error code = 200; message = "catalina.policy (The system cannot find the file specified)"; severity = 0; exception = [java.io.FileNotFoundException: catalina.policy (The system cannot find the file specified)])*
and also one more thing
I am trying to install hyp analyzer with sql server 2000 as relational repository,
I have an issue in selecting JDBC driver, they mentioned I need to give the path for the driver folder, but there are three files in that folder.
mssqlserver.jar,msutil.jar and msbase.jar.
My question which jar file I need to select while installation.
I tried keeping only dirver loaction but when I hit next I am getting dialog box saying C:\Microsoft_SQLServer2000_Driverfor_JDBC\lib ,
So it makes me to select one of the three files.. so which file I need select out of three.
If I select one of the file it is letting me allow to the next step...so help me with

If I remember it correctly, you will need to copy all 3 jars into the WEB-INF\lib and select mssqlserver.jar as the driver.

Hyperion Analyzer/Reports using Windows 7 and I.E. 8

Is there anyone in the user community is currently using Windows 7 operating system and Internet Explorer 8 successfully with the current versions of Hyperion Analyzer 7.2.5.4 and Reports 7.2.5.3?

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Can you tell who is logged onto Hyperion Analyzer?

In Wired 4 you used to be able to look at the Wired Application window to see who is logged onto Wired. I have just upgraded to Analyzer 5.0. Anyone know how I can find out which user is on the system?Also, is there a log I can look at to see which users were on the system the past few days?Thanks folks.Cornelius.

Reports export in Hyperion Analyzer ver. 7.2.5 gives error ?

OS : Windows server 2003 sp2
IBM websphere application server 5.1.1.10
Oracle database version: 10.1.0.2
JRE : 1.4.2_12
I installed the hyperion analyzer v 7.2.5 build 36 with last supported version of oracle 10g i.e 10.1.0.2.I'am able to successfully create reports and save them.Only issue is export of reports.sometimes i'am able to successfully export:simple and advanced reports from one essbase datasource.but from a completly different essbase datasource i'am not able to export even a single ,basic report. i'am enclosing the java console output below:

Hyperion Analyzer 7.5.5

We are upgrading the Hyperion analyzer version to 7.5.5. We are planning to use JRE 1.4.2_12 with this release. Problem we are facing is that if the user has got higher version of JRE than this, it doesn't use the 1.4.2_12 JRE version but the higher version. We have tested that the higher versions than this eg 1.5.0_9 and 1.6.0_5 JRE versions have got some issues with Analyzer.
Question :- Is there an option in Analyzer setting that will force analyzer always to use JRE 1.4.2_12 even though you may have higher versions of JRE on your desktop ?

I'm not aware of a version 7.5.5. We have 7.2.5 and JRE 1.5.0 is supported and works fine. JRE 1.6 is not supported and there is part of your problem. If you have JRE 1.5.0 installed, you can force it to use 1.4.2, but there is no need since 1.5.0 works fine. If your user has JRE 1.6 installed you have a problem. JRE 1.6 will override anything you are doing in the application and force the app to use 1.6. There was a write up about this a while back it has to do with the way the JRE developers are handling security patches. This has nothing to do with Hyperion. In those cases, you need to remove JRE 1.6 from the client machine.

Out of memory error on Hyperion Analyzer

When I tried to access a report through Hyperion analyzer HTML client, Out Of memory error comes up.I tried changing the virtual memory on windows 2000.Even then I am experiencing the same problem.Environment:Windows2000/Tomcat 4.04/IIS/Analyzer 6.2.1.Is there any parameter or setting to be set on properties file on App server side?Can anyone help me out of this problem?Thanks in advance.Jaya.

Hyperion Analyzer 7.2 HTMl Export problem

I am using the HTML version of Hyperion Analyzer 7.2 I have Office 2003 installed. For some reason when I export to excel using HTMl version, a screen opens but closes back and no data is displayed. It works fine on the Java version. Please advise

Hyperion Analyzer Server

I installed Hyperion Analyzer 7.2.5.3 on the window server. I also installed IIS and it seems to be working. I need to connect this to Essbase and I did change the Essbase server name in Analyzer.properties file, but when I click on the url from my application, I get the error "Page not found".
Does anybody know the cause? Do I need to install Essbase Client version for Windows on the server?

hi,
In order to connect reports, tomcat service should be run contionously. If you logged off the server, these services can be shutdown.
You can make the tomcat service as windows service, so even if you logged off (serivce will remain active).
To move analyzer reports from development to production, take the export (from dev) and import (in prod).
Export is available in analyzer by using File->Export. You can export one report or all reports in one file.
Once export file is complete, copy it in prod server and take the import from analyzer.

Hi Atih, For your print-screen action questionI do not have a an answer for this. This has never been thestrength of analyzer. WE use it more for ad-hoc analysis and ourbeautifully printed reports either come out from Hyperion Reportsor Brio. For using specific analyzer version: This answer is almost "yes".Why almost? this is because, you can use only the versions thatare shipped with hyperion analyzer installation. If you check youdeployment folder, there should be 2 version of java executableshipped with it. One should be from 1.3 family and one from 1.4. Soyou can make analyzer choose from these version. How is this done? This is done from analyzer.properties file. Ifi remember correctly, it should have 2 line with something likeJava class id commeted (with #) in the file.To force it, you need to uncomment the version the line with theclass id of your needed version. Note: you might already know this but remember that having higerversion of java can cause issues with analyzer. Sometimes thereport looks crooked and sometimes the things dont appear on thereport. So you should look forward to forcing your users to use theright versions. Hope this helps

Hyperion analyzer 7.2.5 - Issue with drop downs

We are using Hypeirn Analyzer 7.2, I am trying to customize 2010 drop downs for the users.- For this I am going to the cube navigator -select the year dimension and check mark the 2010 year-- Now I am able to see the drop down 2010, but for some other reports when I hit cube navigator the year dimension is under Filters and it is bold- I double click the Year dimension and selected the year 2010...now for this report I cant see the drop down 2010...
what I need to do to get the drop down 2010 when year dimension is bold font under filters??

Hyperion Analyzer Drill thru issue

I have some drill thru reports attached to the one of the cubes. I am using hyperion analyzer for reporting. When i am putting more than one filter from same dimension i am getting below error and drill thru not working.
All selected data cells must be contiguous. Selected cells can span multiple members in one dimension only. Selected cells must share a common parent and must come from same relational column.
The drill thru reports are working for some combination of filters but some other combination it is not working(here the combinations are siblings in outline). Even i saw if i put a filter with child and parent combination the same error coming.
I am not able to figure it out what is the cause? Any help/suggestion wll be of great help.

Hyperion Analyzer Installation 7.2

I need a little help from you about installing Hyperion Analyzerstandalone client here in Mumbai office with the repository storedon the Air Canada server which is Acn103 (12.41.51.133) at USA I am installing Hyperion Analyzer version 7.2. When I reach the screen which provides the option- Select the repository type for Hyperion Analyzer; I select theMicrosoft SQL Server 2000 option. Since I am not creating the database I deselect create databaseoption and click next. Here it asks me the Server name which put it asACN103/12.41.51.133. Then it asks me to put the Analyzer RDMS Username and AnalyzerRDBMS password which I put in as Air Canada (User Name) &aircanada (pw) respectively which is my SQL user ID and passwordfor AirCanada server Here it also asks me the path to Microsoft SQL JDBC driver which ininstallation manual says may be the mssqlserver.jar, msutil.jar andmsbase.jar file. Since I could not locate these files on my machine I could notprovide the path and hence the Test connection to repositoryfailed. So I don’t know where am I going wrong? So where can I locate these jar files and whether I am followingthe right process or not. I have dowloaded these executable jar files from net so whther itll help or not. Please suggest. all ideas to fix the prob are welcome

Now when i attempt running the executable jar file ie(mssqlserver.jar) i get the error failed to load Main-classmanifest attrbute. Now i m clueless as to how to fix this problem.
