Hyperion Data form issue

Hi,
I have created one dataform,in that data form for one particular member the data is aggregating with additional value(10)
But the same data form in another folder is working fine.
Can any one help me on this issue with a solution.

Hi Ram,
It cannot be the case .
The cell values of dimensions does not depend upon the folder, in which the data form is saved.
You need to recheck.

About the header creation:-
Howz about adding a formula row instead of using xml code?
Like you can add a formula row and label it as A-Type.
As it is formula row, it will be greyed out.
Remember to validate the formula or else you might see "#error" in the rows.
Also you can use label only members for the scenario.
About the grouping by coding, it will try something by self and then can comment.

Hyperion Planning Data form alias issue

Hi,
I am using Hyperion Planning version 11.1.2.2. I created data form and after member selection is over I selected alias in dimension properties. But when I am opened the data form I see member names but not alias. I want to see alias name in the data form instead of member name. Please give me solution to this?

In the later releases you now as a user override the data form setting with your own personal user preferences.
Navigate to FIle->User Preferences and then Planning. In there within the display properties you will see an area for Alias settings. There is an option for member name/alias display. Make your selection there.

Oracle Hyperion Forms Issue.

Help required regarding Hyperion Planning Forms,I am experiencing issue regarding Oracle Hyperion Planning during accessing data forms.
Let me tell you the whole background.
I have installed Oracle Hyperion successfully on two machines
(1) DB Tier (2) Application tier
after this i import application (i.e Hyp_Live exported from Prod),
and add following entries in registry.
Open Registry
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\TCPIP\Parameters
Add new DWORD Value named
     TcpTimedWaitDelay, right click and select Modify. Select decimal radio
     button, type in 30.
Add new DWORD Value named
     MaxUserPort, right click and select Modify. Select decimal radio button,
     type in 65534
Add new DWORD Value named
     MaxFreeTcbs, right click and select Modify. Select decimal radio button,
     type in 6250
Navigate

After that i import Business Rules although my application import activity was not complete successfully , and data load data into Essbase .
Now The problem is that when i try to access any form in Oracle Planning ,
then i got two type of errors
first Error "The data form 1.1 TD Non Performing Loans is invalid. Check log for details."
and 2nd error is .
i am working on this issue since last one week , but all in vain ,
A kind help is required ,

I have seen both Planning and Essbase log ,

Here there are 2 things, once your epma heirarchy is ready did you deploy it against your planning App ? and incase if you haven't deployed your planning application, then old outline would be existing in Essbase and if you load data for old outline it will still take into but when you deploy the database gets restructured and older data gets restructured/removed.
Before going onto that level first check if your load data to essbase completed successfully. and did you load data for the combinations on dataform ? ? Try manually inputting a number through data form and submit and do a refresh to see if value comes up. ? Check your data form settings , if you have enables suppress missing rows/blocks.

Issue on the Data Form - Implied Sharing

Hello,
We have a data form on which the user can drill down till Level 0 Customer in rows to input data. The issue is for some customers when the user is trying to input the data at Level 0 Customer it is not saving the input number but was getting overridden with the parent value automatically. If the user was inputting at parent customer it was filling the same value to the level 0 customer too.
When I checked in the outline...I noticed that these were the Customers that had only a single child and I am guessing that this is happening because of the implied share property. I am not sure if there could be any other reason for this to happen. If I am wrong please do correct me.
Now I know if you change the property of the parent customer to Never Share it might resolve the issue.But the problem here is - there are a lot of such customers. And every month we do get new customers that could belong to the same case. It would be tough to manually go and change the property to Never Share for all those Customers and keep a track of it. It might be a maintenance issue.
So are there any other solutions? Can we somehow resolve it? Please let me know your suggestions or ideas on what you think would be the best way to get this fixed.

Yes you are right since both the parent and the children are set to store in our outline more blocks are being created.
Taking the parent off the data form might not be the best solution as there are many such customers and in that case they might have to keep a track to not include such parents on the dataform specially while designing it..and also then its like some of the customers will show parent and children both and some only children in rows. I think they wouldnt like it and it might hurt consistency. But yes I will surely check on the option of turning on the Implied Sharing in the Essbase.cfg

Unable to SAVE data through a data form in Hyperion Planning

Hi,
I recently migrated an application from development to QA using the LCM tool and refreshed the outline into Essbase using Planning Web. Once completed, i loaded the level0 data and aggregated it.
I opened a data form and tried to SAVE data and i get an error stating: "There was an error during the save process".
I tried saving the data using another form and i was successful at it. I re-migrated the data-form i was having an issue with and tried again. Thist time I get an error "Communication error with server. Callback failed for data entry page". This error shows up now on every form and every application.
Any suggestion on how to fix this?

I don't know if that patch will help you or not. It addresses a specific issue related to text data types. Your issue sounds similar, in that it appears to be triggered via the existence of specific data. The issue we were describing above presents itself when opening the form, and not when saving the form. I'm just guessing here, but it sounds as though there is some type of mismatch between the data types that Planning is expecting to display and save on the form, and the format of the existing data in Essbase.
You said that you can't save the form once the data is loaded into a particular version. Here's what I'd do to narrow the issue down:
1) Copy the data into your version so that the form will NOT save. (ensuring that the issue is present)
2) Start selectively deleting data from the version. Write a quick calc script that clears certain data, account, by account.
3) After each selective delete, make a note of the account you cleared. You'll only need to clear accounts that are present on the form.
4) After each selective delete, refresh the form, and then try to save.
At some point, I expect the save will be successful. You'll then know what data was causing the issue. I'm guessing that this data (probably a specific account) will have a data type that doesn't match up with the data in Essbase. It could be defined as a Smart List that wasn't migrated. Or a text value that doesn't exist in the app repository. Something like that.

I think we can't show it in ASO, but if we have a BSO cube then we have to connect our reports with the Planning data source instead of an Essbase data source and specify on the report to show supporting detail.
You have to do some settings in the FR_Global.properties which are:
AllowCellTextAsAnnotation=true, the Cell Text check box on the Report Property sheet is shown (for Financial Management and Planning, not Essbase yet). The default setting will be unchecked (turned off).
AllowPlanningUnitAnnotationsAsAnnotations=true, the Planning Unit Annotations check box on the Report Property sheet is shown for Planning. The default setting will be unchecked (turned off).
AllowDocAttachmentsAsAnnotations=true, the Document Attachments check box on the Report Property Sheet is shown for Financial Management. The default setting will be unchecked (turned off).

Forcing use of Supporting Detail in Hyperion Planning data form

Hi everyone.
We're using Hyperion Planning 11.1.1.2 and for one particular data form, I'd like force users to HAVE TO use Supporting Detail on specific cells. I think there might be a way to do this using custom JavaScript functions and modifying the form code but I am wondering if there is a way to do this without code on the form. Any suggestions?

Strange Hyperion Planning data form bug...

Hi all,
I'm having a very strange problem on a data form in Hyperion planning. When trying to input a number against a percentage type member, after pressing enter it sometimes displays as the number I put in - 0.00000000000000001 !!
So, for example, I input 0.47%, hit enter, and it changes to 0.469999999999999999 in the form. Even after I save the form, it continues to display this way. This only seems to happen for specific numbers - i.e. if I input 0.46%, press enter, it displays correctly as 0.46%. But I have this problem with 0.47% and other specific numbers, across all data forms, regardless of the member intersection where they're entered.
A retrieve in smartview shows it correctly as 0.0047, so I suspect it is not a problem with how the data in being input, but rather how it is being displayed by Planning.
Has anyone ever come across this or anything similar before? Any solutions that come to mind?
I'm using EPM 11.1.2.2. Have tested with Mozilla and IE - problem occurs with both.

Formatting header rows in data form in hyperion planning

I want to format header rows in data form in hyperion planning (formatting like Bold, Italic etc...) Is there any way to do that?

Customizing the Style of Header Cells in Forms
Applying a bold style to all forms
1. From HyperionPlanning.war\custom, open HspCustom.css and insert this class code:

Font-family:<font>;
Font-size:<size>;
Font-weight:bold;
For example, to use bolded garamond 14 as the style for header cells you would specify:

Font-family:garamond;
Font-size:14;
Font-weight:bold;
You can also change the font and the font size in the same portion of code.
Perform the tasks in "Registering Customized Skins in Applications".
Applying a bold style to one form
Determine the ID of the form to customize by running this query in which ‘<FORM_NAME’ is the name of the form:

where object_name like ‘<FORM_NAME>’
For example, to modify a form called "1.30 Per Payor – Metrics”, you would run this query:

Hyperion Planning Data forms - conditionally/dynamically populate rows

I am building a budgeting data form which I am trying to invoke some dynamic capabilities so that it is either not one giant for, or one that users have to load to multiple pages through a drop-down, which they will essentially see as too cumbersome and not accept it as a good solution.
The basic relationship is one entity owns multiple cost centers. I am trying to find way that a user can select their entity in the header row drop-down, and from that have the data form only pull in their relevant cost centers into the rows, then repeat the set of accounts we have defined for each group.
Essentially i want it to provide something such as below (the spacing is not being recognized, but the accounts should all be justified into a row). The set of entities are pre-defined. No problem. As are the set of accounts. The issue is getting it to vary which cost centers are on the page to load to. There are thousands of cost center in the system, so again I can't list them all. Also there are hundreds of entities so I can't have a different form for each. Way too much maintenance. I have a few ideas on how to link the relationship between the entity and cost centers. Probably an attribute on each cost center to tell it which entity owns it. Or worst case an alternate rollup in the Cost center dimension, grouping them together under a CC-Entity parent. Problem again is how do I use this in the form? Open to any suggestions at all. Thanks

If you have data tied for the cost centers of entities 'supression' options should only bring the related cost centers.
You can put all entities and accounts in a single form , member level access will only let the users see what they have access to...
There may be other solutions from experts here..

Hyperion Planning - Link a web analysis report in a data form

is actually possible to link a web analysis report in a planning data form? I tried from a custom menu but discovered that isn't possible. Any other way?

Indeed, it is possible to link a web analysis report in a planning custom menu.
Follow this procedure :
- From the explorer :
-> Go to the folder where your web analysis report is stored
-> Right click on the document and left click on "properties"
-> Copy the "smartCut" link
- From your planning application :
-> Edit the menu where you want to link your webanalysis report :
-> Create a URL item and past the link in the input field

Hyperion planning data form in smartview: problem with summary time period

We are using Planning ver. 11.1.2.2.300.20 and smartview 11.1.2.2.300 (build 070)
We use common Data Form:
In columns: Periods (Descendants including YearTotal - with no checkbox on start expanded)
In Rows :accounts
In some of our users computers,
When they open Data Form in Excel (with Smart View) - its appears very strange:
Summary Accounts are displayed as level 0 account in the summary Period columns (i.e. not in grey) and permit entering data.
In addition when Entering data in summary time period (i.e. Year or Quarter),
strangely, the data doesn't spread to the descendants months (level 0) .
This phenomenon occurs just in few of the computers.
Please help, how can we overcome this problem?

All computers have the same version of planning and smartview.
The computers where the Periods spreading and aggregation properties in Data form are not working,
do work wonderfully when opening the Data forms in the web.
I've tried everything, (remove suppressing, validations etc.):
In all kind of data forms the spreading and aggregation properties on summary time periods are not working in smartview -
and summary accounts on rows are not displayed in grey and permit entering data.
We remove and reinstall MS-Office (2007) from the problematic computers, but it didn't help.
Do you know if there is any kind of settings or softwares that might cause this phenomenon
i.e. interrupts the smartview translation of the web Data Forms.

User In Planning unit Hierarchy unable to see data form in editable mode

hi all,
we are facing a problem in planning unit hierarchy in Hyperion planning, where we have 4 users, Hierarchy is define as
hierarchy: budget approved
version: approved
Entity: Finance
Senario:Budget
haroon asghar ( owner)
adeel javid (Reviewer)
Naeem asghar (Reviewer)
Imtiaz (Reviewer)
Issue is that,after start the budget activity (promotional path) by Admin, the data form editable to Owner haroon asghar
but after completing his work by haroon,when he promote the planning unit ,the next user in Hierarchy "Adeel javid" unable to see data form in respective planning unit in uneditable data form not only for this user but all rest of the users as well,while i think data form should only uneditable(grayed) for user Haroon Asghar who promote the planning unit.
we have checked all security rights to the users those are "Write access" but still Adeel javid is unable to enter data,so the budget activity is stop due to this problem.
when i remove the planning unit then i log in with all user one by one and see all data form required version,scenario and entity were editable to all users mention above
we want to run budget activity with the above planning unit hierarchy.
plz any one provide the proposed solution of the said issue

Reviewers will not be able to write data to the intersection. Reviewers can only review the data and follow-up with a Reject, Promote, Sign off, Delegate, Originate or Freeze.
