  • Hyperion Enterprise client and server version

    All,
We are using Hyperion Enterprise version 6.1 for a long time and currently it supports and works fine on windows 2000 server. We are planning to move to HFM shortly but in the meantime i wanted to see if there is a version out there between 6.1 and 6.5 that will enable us to install client on "xp" and still talk to version 6.1 on the server?
    any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Srikanth

    Rk,
Thank you for the response. Do you happen to know which version of Hyperion retrieve on the client side works with xp and still be able to talk to version 6.1 on the server side. I looked into the version 6.5 and it does not support version 6.1 on the server side.
Also, where can i find the installs for older version i looked in the edelivery site and have not been successful.
    Thanks again,
    Srikanth

  • Although I've updated Firefox to 6.0 it is not recognized by any other website as that. It is recognized as an old version, 3.5. The 6.0 installation does not show a failure. Please help me work through this. I'm running Windows XP

I am unable to use Google+ or many of my games as they say that I need to update Firefox. I doggedly have done so many times, to 6.0, yet I still cannot access Google+ or some sites as they say I'm using an old version of FF. Something is going wrong with the installation, even though I get no error messages.

Well, it says I already have the most recent version. However Google Plus still says my version is out of date.
A friend suggested I back up my bookmarks, then try uninstalling & reinstalling Firefox the traditional way, and rebooting my system afterwards.
I'm going to try that to see if there is some kind of other issue going on between Google Plus and all of the websites that say my browser is out of date (ie. version 3.5) when it is not.
    Thanks!
ps. I did try what you suggested, and that's where I found out my browser version is current.

  • Installation old version Photoshop Elements 4.0 Windows 7, IE 4.0 required, what if you have IE 11.0

I have an old Version of Photoshop Elements 4.0 on CD and used it long time on Win XP, now i use Win 7.1 and need a new installation.
Worked till i was asked after Internetexplorer 4.0 was required, and i have IE 11.0 - that is higher - and the Install stopped and doesn't go further.
How can i install it? IE 6 or 7 won't work with Win7.
Any ideas? Will not buy another PSE, for my business it's good.
    Thanks!

You might try XP mode if you have the right version of Windows 7:

I was wondering if it is still possible to download old versions of application server (older then 9.0.4)? I have searched on the oracle site, via google and this forum but I can not find any usefull links. I know every version under 9.0.4 it is desupported but does it automacally mean that old versions are not avalable anymore for downloading?
I'm looking for the 9.0.2 installation cd's. I have 9.0.1 but I'm not sure if all the patches are available to upgrade to 9.0.2.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Hyperion Enterprise version???

    Hello Frndz,
What is exact version of Hyperion Enterprise??
Im very new to HFM side and I need to migrate Hyperion Enterprise to HFM 9.x ...so ,could you please help me out in this by providing any suggestions or related links, posts etc.,
    Thanks.

    hi
i am also very new to hfm, as per my knowledge i am giving some information whatever i know. This information may be useful for you.
The exact version of hyperion enterprise is "4.0".
The "Hyperion Enterprise" is having some limitations like "Dimensionality Limitations", "Multiuser Scalability Limitations", "Budgeting and Planning Limitations" etc...
The Hyperion Enterprise is having lot of limitaions eventhough many companies are using hyperion enterprise only becoz of flexibility. These limitations are overcome in Hyperion Financial management 9.3.1.
So I am not having sufficient knowledge on these limitations. I am providing one link of a pdf which is having sufficient information regarding why should we migrate from hyperion enterprise to hfm 9.x.
This doc will be useful to you.

  • Troubles with the installation of an old version of Elements

I have a quite old version of Elements, regularly purchased. I have just changed my system and I would like to install my Elements Package on my new PC. But it seems to be impossible as an error message appears, saying : "before the installation it is necessary to get Explorer 4.0 (or a more recent version). In fact, MS Explorer is already installed on my machine (the most recent version). My operative system is MS Windows 7 Professional. How can I solve my problem? Many thanks in advance.

There is apparently a problem with IE10+ in that it is mistakenly seen as being IE1.  To get around this either use a different browser or use compatibility view (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility -view#ie=ie-10)
It might not be possible to install your older version on a new machine but it depends on just how old it is.

    Hello together,
next month our IT-Department will change the virus scanners at our hyperion enterprise server.
Can someone please tell me what we need to consider?
May be some files are not scanned? Specially configurations?
For your help in advance thank you.

    Hi Martin,
Please check the below mentioned Knowledge article found on Oracle knoweledge base.
Hyperion Enterprise: List of Settings and Recommendations to Avoid Corruption (Doc ID 588620.1)
Seems that you are in very old version of Enterprise. Download the latest version 6.5.1.1 (Maintenance Release) a full installation could be performed though, which comes with Backup utility and Enterprise Extraction utility where you could convert or migrate the Enterprise application to HFM application.
Below are the links where you could find the documentation.

    Hi Rakesh,
1.) Please confirm you followed the steps below during your HEWEB initialization process? (The first time you enable HEWEB - the applications added need a long time to cache depending on their complexity.)
*How to Prevent Hyperion Entperise Web Components from Timing out and Dropping from Memory on HEWEB Server [ID 1134663.1]*
Modified 03-AUG-2010 Type HOWTO Status PUBLISHED
    Applies to:
Hyperion Enterprise - Version: 6.5.0.0.00 and later [Release: 6.5 and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
    Goal:
What steps are required to prevent an application loaded into HEWEB from timing out and dropping from memory thus requiring users to wait for the application to re-load whilst the connect?
    Solution:
In order to use Hyperion Enterprise Web (HEWEB) and Hyperion Smartview for Enterprise (HSE) the application you wish to connect to needs to be Enabled for HEWEB on the designated HEWEB server.
To enable an Application for HEWEB the designated HEWEB Server needs to have Microsoft Internet Information Server (MIIS) and ASP.NET installed.
If the HWEB component has never been installed, the Enterprise Installer needs to be run selecting the HEWEB option on the Install component list. Once selected and run the install. This will install the required version of HEWEB and ASP.NET.
If the HEWEB server has been installed, in order to Web Enable the application(s) required follow the steps below:
1.Login to Enterprise as a user with Admin Rights.
    2. Enter the Application Module from the Enterprise Desktop.
    3. Choose the Navigate menu followed by Server Administration.
    4. In the Web Server pane select the Enabled check box.
Set the Web Server URL to read http://YOUR SERVERNAME.
Set the Session Manager, task Server and Web Application Controller to be just the server name.
Set the upload location to be a suitable folder on the server in which to store dataload files.
    5. If using Hyperion Enterprise Reporting Web (HERW) as well as HEWEB:
Set the Server name for your HERW server in the Hyperion Enterprise Reporting Web Server.
    6. Leave the number of connections set to 12.
    7. Once these parameters are all set. Hit Apply.
Depending on your application size and complexity of your metadata, after a delay, three processes will start up and consume memory and CPU. These are HeAppController.EXE, HeDataController.EXE and HeAppMgr.EXE. The time taken is a function of application metadata complexity and NOT the amount of data within the application.
Once the HeAppController.EXE has settles to 0% CPU utilization and the process memory usage has stopped increasing the application has loaded into HEWEB and should be visible in the list of applications when you hit the link http://YOURSERVERNAME/HeWeb/default.asp from a browser.
If the application takes a very long time to load, the amount of time can be reduced with no adverse affect by editing the Applicationname.ini located in the application folder to include the line ENABLECACHEFORSMARTVIEW=”0” towards the end of the file.
After some time these 3 processes, HeAppController.EXE, HeDataController.EXE and HeAppMgr.EXE will drop from memory and if the line WEBAUTOSTART=1 is set in your server Hypent.ini file, these processes will re-load when a user hits the HEWEB server via a browser or makes a Smartview Connection attempt.
Note if the load process for your application takes a long time, the first users to hit the server will have to wait while the processes re-load.
This can cause user confusion and lead users to think the server is down!
To prevent these processes dropping from memory perform the following steps on your HEWEB server:
    1. From the Start Run command run INETMGR to bring up Microsoft Internet Information Manager Console.
    2. Identify the Default Application Pool in the left hand pane by drilling down into Application Pools.
    3. Right Click on the Default Application Pool and select properties.
    4. Find the re-cycling TAG and edit the value in Recycle work processes in minutes to a long period i.e. 28800 (20 days).
    5. Find the Performance Tag.
    6. DESELECT, Shutdown worker processes after being idle for (time in minutes).
    7. Exit from the Web pools setting and close down INETMGR.
    8. From the start button re-set IIS services by issuing the command IISRESET from the run box.
    9. IIS will now re-start and then once initially called the process for HEWEB should not remain in memory for the duration of the period specified.
Note: Be wary of taking back-ups while the webserver connection are held open. It is advised that the internal Enterprise back-ups are used which will not be affected by the HEWEB process remaining active.
2.) In your previous post you mentioned that you followed all of the installation steps required for installing HE 6.5.1. Could you please confirm that this was a new installation? Or was this an upgrade from an older version?
Let me know how you get on.
    G'Luck,
    -David

  • Upgrade to Hyperion Enterprise 6.5.1.1.102 - Performance Issues

We are testing an upgrade to Hyperion Enterprise 6.5.1.1. We have applied the Update 2 patch which I believe officially takes the version to 6.5.1.1.102. In testing reports and consolidation between the new version and the old 6.4.1 version of Enterprise, we are seeing a delay in how long it take reports to generate and for Consolidation to complete. With reports, we see the delay specifically when running large reports that pull a lot of data.
Currently, our 6.4.1 Hyperion application is installed on a Win2003 server and our users access Hyperion via Citrix. The 6.5.1.1.102 version is installed on a Win2008 server and is being accessed through Citrix.
To isolate this issue, we loaded Hyperion locally on a server and the timed some reports. The 6.5 reports take just as long to run as on our current v6.4 platform. So, it appears there is a performance issue running 6.5 enterprise through Citrix. Has any one else experienced this type problem or have any suggestions. We have been referred to numerous performance tuning notes from Hyperion support but nothing seems help.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I would suggest you to apply the latest patch 6.5.1.1.103, and I would strongly recommend you to upgrade to HFM.

    u2022     Create a Back_Up of "FileStore" folder located at ..\Business Objects\Business Objects 11.5\"
    u2022     Create a Back_Up of complete registry.
u2022     If the Business Objects system is customized for AD authentication,SSO etc., create a Back-Up of files on which changes are made.
u2022     If there are any Service Packs or Fix Packs installed, uninstall them in the reverse sequence of version.
u2022     Uninstall the base install of Business Objects Xi Release 2.

u2022     On the settings of CMS System database configuration, click specify.
u2022     Use "Copy from another Data Source" to migrate data from previous database to new database.
u2022     If the SIA fails to start, create another SIA and point it to the new Database with the migrated database.
u2022     Click on update objects and then start the SIA.
u2022     Login to "Central Management Console(CMC)" using Enterprise "Administrator" account.
u2022     Verify the License of Business Objects XI 3.1.
u2022     If the servers are showing disabled under CMC, enable all the servers.
u2022     Restore the "FileStore" folder to location "..\Business Objects\Business Objects Enterprise 12.0\".
u2022     If any report is missing database credentials, provide them and the reports will run ok.
These steps are for the BOE XIR2 and BOE XIR3. However you can also be useful for too.
    I hope this helps you.
