Hyperion Enterprise historic data access (tool)

we are moving from Hyperion Enterprise to SAP SEM.
As the historic data won't be moved we are looking for the best and easiest way to be able to access that data in the future.
Is there an option of not using Enterprise anymore? Reading the data with another tool where no infrastructure is needed?
Has anyone done something similar already?
Thanks
Jonas

for anyone interested:
talked to Oracle and they said other customers were running a virtual server till it was not used anymore.
so there is no other option than running the system as long as you need it or export everything to excel

  • Windows Service Enterprise Library Data Access Application Blocks Connection Pooling Issue

    Hello,
We are developing a windows service using c# .net v 4.5.1 which communicates with SQL database (SQL 2008 R2 x64), communication with SQL server is done using Enterprise Library data access block v 6, The windows service does a file copy process in bulk &
updates the database about the status of file copy, it is observed that as soon as we start the service the number of connections get max out & we start receiving a "Timeout expired.  The timeout period elapsed prior to obtaining a connection
from the pool.  This may have occurred because all pooled connections were in use and max pool size was reached."
This issue is only observed when we run the code logic by deploying it as a windows service, When we run the exactly same code as a standalone exe (right click -> run as administrator) / non windows service, the connections on database are not exceeded
& we do not receive the above mentioned error.
The code block which makes calls to the database is under the c# "using" statement, hence connection pooling should be handled by default.
Could you please recommend any suggestions on areas which I might have missed on to investigate this issue.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
The issue got resolved after refresh the SCOM Data base access service  account in SQL 2012.
Unable to launch the operations manager 2012 R2 console after extended the C drive of the SQl server ,getting error "The Data
    Access service is either not
    running or not yet initialized.
Got to your SQL server -->databases-operationsmanager--security-users--locate the daa service account and refresh.issue fixed and am able to luanch.

  • Help! Hyperion Enterprise 6.5 and importation data

    Hello everybody,
I need help for importing data from SAP FICO to Hyperion Enterprise 6.5.
In first i think that Ledgerlink is my solution but in fact it's not because this tool is for importing account and entity, that's all!
My purpose is to import amount in HE respecting a mapping.
    Any idie?
Thank's a lot and sorry for my english...

FDM would easily handle your request.
As Enterprise is end of life in May, there will be fewer and fewer people able to respond to these questions.

  • Issue with Enterprise Library's Data Access Application

I do not know if I have the correct forum for this post. I hve put it in what I believe is the most likely best forum, but please move this if there is a more germane forum for it.
I have inherited a solution (C#) which uses the reference Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data. The reference was included with the codebase I inherited, there are no missing references.
When the library is called with:
    Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data.ExecuteDataSet("configConfigurationKeysSelect", parameterValues);
It complains with the runtime error:

This is true, there IS no stored procedure  'configConfigurationKeysSelect'  but there is a table named  'configConfigurationKeys.'
I assumed this stored procedure is built on the fly to select from that table? Must I do something regarding  Enterprise Library's Data Access Application so that this works on the system I am running it on? (I am simply accessing the references

Why do you assume that a stored procedure is create on the fly?  Looking at the documentation for this component, I don't see a mention of such.

  • Best practice to extract data from Hyperion Enterprise 5.5

We are looking into extracting high-level data from our Hyperion Enterprise 5.5 and am in the process of researching what are the best practices to do that. I am reading the docs for the APIs that I can call from VB6. I am also interested if there are available Java APIs out there. Thanks in advance and Happy Holidays to everyone!Angelito [email protected]

The easiest is using HAL (Hyperion Application Link). I have used HAL to extract data, organizations, account, subs, entities, etc.

  • Oracle Data Access Layer - w/Enterprise Services

I'm looking for an example Oracle Data Access layer incorporating Enterprise Services with at least a simple window form inserting and updating data tables.
Can somepoint point me in the right direction?
    Thanks,
    Tony

    Hi Tony,
I would recommed you hit some of the popular .Net Development sites on the Internet. For example, just googling on .Net Enterprise Services provides links where simple samples can be reviewed. These generic code samples can then be tweaked to include ODP code for data access. If your components or code will be enlisting in transactions with MTS, hence your class or aspx page is transactional, you will need to install the Oracle Services for MTS in addtion to the ODP driver.

  • Standards data migration process from Hyperion Enterprise to HFM 11.1.2.1

Client currently has HEM and we are implementing EPM v11. I am wondering if there is any standard process to migrate historical data from HEM 6.5 to HFM 11.1.2.1?

First you need to migrate to v9.3.1 HFM (Fresh implementation of HFM) and then upgrade from 9.3.1 to 11.1.2.1

    Hi user_jedi,
Yes, the data is persisted in the database and is permanent until deleted. The recommended practice is to use the Delete Data Alert Action to periodically purge historical data.
So an overall approach that you could use is:
    * Incoming data is written both to BAM for the real time dashboards, and also to a system of record (database, datamart, data warehouse, ...).
    * Use a Delete Data Alert Action to periodically purge historical data from BAM.
    * If you want to access the historical data from BAM on occasion, you can use an External Data Object. Or use another reporting tool that's optimized for non-real time data.

  • Upgrade to Hyperion Enterprise 6.5.1.1.102 - Performance Issues

We are testing an upgrade to Hyperion Enterprise 6.5.1.1. We have applied the Update 2 patch which I believe officially takes the version to 6.5.1.1.102. In testing reports and consolidation between the new version and the old 6.4.1 version of Enterprise, we are seeing a delay in how long it take reports to generate and for Consolidation to complete. With reports, we see the delay specifically when running large reports that pull a lot of data.
Currently, our 6.4.1 Hyperion application is installed on a Win2003 server and our users access Hyperion via Citrix. The 6.5.1.1.102 version is installed on a Win2008 server and is being accessed through Citrix.
To isolate this issue, we loaded Hyperion locally on a server and the timed some reports. The 6.5 reports take just as long to run as on our current v6.4 platform. So, it appears there is a performance issue running 6.5 enterprise through Citrix. Has any one else experienced this type problem or have any suggestions. We have been referred to numerous performance tuning notes from Hyperion support but nothing seems help.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I would suggest you to apply the latest patch 6.5.1.1.103, and I would strongly recommend you to upgrade to HFM.

  • Web-based data visualization tools

Hi.  I originally posted this question to the LV forum, but I am going to modify my question because I think Diadem may be a good solution for us.
I am embarking on a interesting research project that will involve recording lots of physiological signals from patient monitors in a hospital.  I will be recording signals like BP, spO2, Pulserate, ECG, etc.
Right now, my main design concern is how to give clinicians access to the data after it is recorded.  I think Diadem might be a good solution, but I really want it to be web-based.
    Here is my wish list:
    - Store the data securely, where access can be restricted and controlled (e.g. user must login)
    - Allow users (who are granted access) to login and view historical data via a simple web browser
    - Allow users to pick datasets amd zoom, scroll, etc.
    - Allow user to view data in stacked plots (e.g. so they can see multiple signals simultaneously on the screen and scroll the time axis)
    - Allow user to annotate data (e.g. add comments at specific timestamps)
Do you have any reccomendations for a web-based data visualization tool like this?  Do you think Diadem meet my needs?

    Hello J Osborne,
You application sounds like a great fit for DIAdem and the DataFinder, with the exception of the Web-based nature of the application. We currently do not offer a native web interface to DIAdem and it's features, but there are ways to accomplish that using established technologies such as remote clients ...
Here are my comments to your individual questions:
    - Store the data securely, where access can be restricted and controlled (e.g. user must login)
    * The DataFinder Server (which works with DIAdem) technology can be used to give specific users access to only data they are supposed to see, so we can cover this part of your application
    - Allow users (who are granted access) to login and view historical data via a simple web browser
    * This would have to be achieved via a remote client solution, since DIAdem offers no native Web client
    - Allow users to pick datasets amd zoom, scroll, etc.
    * This is something that the DIAdem NAVIGATOR and DIAdem VIEW are very good at, including the ability to search for data sets based on specific key words, patient names, etc. and the ability to look at multiple data sets simultaneously in multiple windows with zooming and scrolling.
    - Allow user to view data in stacked plots (e.g. so they can see multiple signals simultaneously on the screen and scroll the time axis)
    * That's DIAdem VIEW, sounds like a perfect fit: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/7384
    - Allow user to annotate data (e.g. add comments at specific timestamps)
    * DIAdem VIEW has the ability to highlight events with cursors, and we could easily add the ability to add comments through a custom dialog and a short script. We could prepare and demo this feature for you ...
I would be happy to discuss your application with you in more detail. Feel free to contact me at (800) 531-5066 (ask for Otmar Foehner) or via email at    otmar DOT foehner AT ni DOT com.

  • Reccomendations for web-based data visualization tools?

    Hello again,
I am embarking on a interesting research project that will involve recording lots of physiological signals from patient monitors in a hospital.  I will be recording signals like BP, spO2, Pulserate, ECG, etc.
Right now, my main design concern is how to give clinicians access to the data after it is recorded.
    My wish list is:
    - Store the data securely, where access can be controlled (e.g. perhaps in a RDBMS like SQL Server)
    - Allow users (who are granted access) to login and view historical data via a simple web browser
    - Allow users to zoom, scroll, etc.
    - Allow user to view data in stacked plots (e.g. so they can see ECG, BP and HR simultaneously on the screen and scroll the time axis)
    - Allow user to annotate data (e.g. add comments at specific timestamps)
Anybody have any reccomendations for a web-based data visualization tool like this?
I know that people are probably going to reccomend Diadem ... but I don't think its web-based is it?

There is actually a new thing available called LabVIEW Web UI Builder.  This allows you develop web-based applications that have a custom GUI that can interface with other LabVIEW applications.  You can find more information on the Web UI Builder page on ni.com. There is also a dedicated forum that you can use to post questions about the Web UI Builder.  That forum is located here.  I hope that you find this helpful!

  • Hyperion Enterprise Web Server  - Error 406

    Hi,
The problem occurs when trying to activate the Hyperion Enterprise webserver from the Server Administration. The error message displays "HTTP 406 error".
We have tried many things including a full reinstall but have not managed to find a solution or pin point what's causing the problem.
Has anybody experienced this issue before or have any suggestions as to why this is happening.
    Thanks

Does anyone have a solution to this error? We are seeing the same.
The Web service is running fine and we can try to enable the application from either Server Administration application or selecting application setup from the web login screen.
The Server Admin application returns the error HTTP 406 : The resource cannot be displayed. When trying to enable the application for web access.
The Web server application setup shows no applications within the application dropdown selection control.
Tried using alternative applications, all of which appear to working perfectly OK other than not being web enabled.
