Hyperion Installation and Sample Application Problem

Hi,
I am a new user of Hyperion Planning 9. I am an Oracle DBA by profession with training and experience in Data Warehousing.
After the installation of Hyperion Planning 9.3.1, I do not have dimension library under http://server4:19000/workspace -> navigate
I want to load the Sample Application to practice with Hyperion functionalities.
Implementation: (VMWare Server)
1. Oracle Database - Server1
2. Hyperion Shared Services - Server2
3. Hyperion Essbase - Server3
4. Planning, BI+ - Server4
Any advice/assistance will be appreciated.

Did you give your self admin access in Shared Services (http://localhost:58080/interop/)? When installing the application the admin user only has provision rights and can't access the dimensions.
You can also go to planning directly by going to this link instead of going through workspace:
http://localhost:8300/HyperionPlanning/LogOn.jsp

SSO java sample application problem

Hi all,
I am trying to run the SSO java sample application, but am experiencing a problem:
When I request the papp.jsp page I end up in an infinte loop, caught between papp.jsp and ssosignon.jsp.
An earlier thread in this forum discussed the same problem, guessing that the cookie handling was the problem. This thread recommended a particlar servlet , ShowCookie, for inspecting the cookies for the current session.
I have installed this cookie on the server, but don't see anything but one cookie, JSESSIONID.
At present I am running the jsp sample app on a Tomcat server, while Oracle 9iAS with sso and portal is running on another machine on the LAN.
The configuration of the SSO sample application is as follows:

Pierre - When you work on the sample application, you should test the pages in a separate browser instance. Don't use the Run Page links from the Builder. The sample app has a different authentication scheme from that used in the development environment so it'll work better for you to use a separate development browser from the application testing browser. In the testing browser, to request the page you just modified, login to the application, then change the page ID in the URL. Then put some navigation controls into the application so you can run your page more easily by clicking links from other pages.

Sample application problem

I am following the guide to construct pages.
My problem is that i just create a page in the sample appliction and
i want to run it but when i click the run page
icon the page is not run. A user/password screen appear,
and then i am sent to the main form of the demo application.
Not the page i just build and want to test.
Should i have to mmodify the login screen to point to
my page?
Where is located the name of the first form in the login screen? I just cant find it

Avitek Sample Application - problems after imported to Eclipse

I downloaded "Avitek™ Medical Records Sample Application" and started a domain successfuly with this aplication. Then I imported its to my Eclipse Juno with the interest to debug this sample application. I included every lib are need. Now I am getting the error "Default target install does not exist in this project" in every build.xml on the target "<project name=".
Other error I got is "The type javax.jms.Message cannot be resolved. It is indirectly referenced from required .class files" in the PatientNotifierBroker project. I looked for javax.jms_1.1.2.jar and I had already added this library.
Have someone face both problems after imported this sample?

11g by default is case sensitive username/password.
You can disable that with setting parameter SEC_CASE_SENSITIVE_LOGON to false.
SQL> SHOW PARAMETER SEC_CASE_SENSITIVE_LOGON

Mobile WebDynpro Sample Application Problem

I have a application which is already developed using Java Webdynpro, now i want to view the application in the mobile. What should i do in-order to show it in a blacl-berry device. Any webdydnpro application can be viewed in the black berry emulator (UI elemnts rendering will be different though)
You need to have MDS and blackberry emulator installed on your system.
Run the webdynpro application make note on the URL and type the same URL in the blackberry browser.

ITunes and iPhone - Applications problem.

Is normal *to lost all my applications* from my iPhone (or to spend a lot of time to download it again from app store - _without save games or information from my applications_ )if I bought a new computer or I reinstall my operating system (by upgrading hardware components) ????
I just finish to reinstall my operating system and I purchase an application form app-store and when I pres SYNC I received a message:
Are you sure you want to sync applications? *All existing applications and their data* _will be replaced_ with applications from iTunes library.
and in my iTunes library I have only one application the one I just bought!!!
I have same problems with Music, Movies, Photos, Ringtones .. etc

Probably the music collection is corrupted on your iPhone (in that case you should see a lot of memory used for "other" on the bottom of the iTunes window.
Check the settings in iTunes; Reset the iPhone: Hold Home and Sleep/Wake button at the same time, ignore the shutdown slider, keep holding until you see the white Apple Logo (you do not loose any data); Sync again.

Software Installer and wireless internet problems after upgrade from Leopard to Lion.

Last weekend I upgraded the OS on my MacBook Pro from Leopard to Snow Leopard, and then from Snow Leopard to Lion. I'm having a couple of problems.
First, I cannot get the wireless internet to work. My internet connection is fine, I can plug the ethernet cord in and all is well. But I cannot get wireless signals to work. Have tried both my Airport Express and an old linksys router, and neither seem to work. They both worked just fine before the update. I had very fast wireless internet, and now nothing. With the Airport Express, when I plug it in iti'll just continuously blink orange, and the Airport Utility refuses to recognize it. The linksys router seems to work, because it puts off a signal and my iPhone connects to it. My computer recognizes the signal, but it won't open any internet pages, says I'm not connected.
Today I tried to install Apple's Migration Assistant software to help with my first problem. But a funny thing happened. The software installer says I don't have enough space. But I have plenty- I have almost 200 GB, and I only need 5 MB for the program. I've never seen this happen before, it's so odd. Any suggestions?

Installer and software update problems

Hello! I just bought a new Hard Drive for my iMac G5 and installed Mac OS 10.4.6 from the DVD I had. The first thing I did when i got my system running, was to open Software Update. I didn't want to wait, so I selected for download only iTunes 7 and Java 5. I had planned to download Mac 10.4.10 later.
However, an hour later, I tried to open Software Update - and it simply refused! I download 10.4.10 Combo from the Apple web site and tried to open the file. No luck! Downloader starts for a second and then quits. Any help? Much appreciated!

Yuri, welcome, I would Erase the hard drive and re-install the OS, then apply the Combo Updater. There have been so many problem reported here when trying run the new i-apps and not upgrading the OS.

i can't use community and mail app with GPRS. always "comunication error, try again later".
With my Wlan at home, or with operamini no problems at all.
i've tried several times to reboot the phone, remove battery for a while, but nothing helps!

HFM: Sample applications and tutorial

Does hyperion have a sample applications? Because as of now i am using the HFM applications and i'm not connected to workspace. But i dont have sample data or applications.
If you have some tutorial can you please give me.

For 9.3.1, you can choose to have sample application during installation. In 9.5, the sample apps are copied during installation.
For 9.5, you can see sample applications in C:\Hyperion\products\FinancialManagement\Sample Apps.
For the sample apps, you have to load the data into HFM on your own, including profile, security, metadata, rule file, data, journals,..etc to review the content.

Sample application using the Eclipse BIRT schema

Somaco have produced a sample application based upon the Eclipse BIRT example schema (customers, orders, products, etc). Hopefully this will be of some use to new-to-Spring developers looking for other example applications and sample applications.
So far we're tested/run the sample application on Tomcat, using JOTM transactions against the MySQL version of the BIRT schema. We'd like to (a) offer the sample application to those Weblogic users looking for sample applications (other than petstore), and (b) get some feedback on the sample application from Weblogic users - both for the deployment and for the app itself.

The sample application uses the following Spring MVC Framework features:
<ul>
<li>Various Spring controllers including: SimpleFormController, AbstractWizardFormController, and MultiActionController.</li>
<li>Validation and Custom Editors (including a CustomTimestampEditor for java.sql.Timestamp fields).</li>
<li>Clearly tiered application design with web, application and persistence tiers.</li>
<li>Ibatis/DB persistence tier using result maps, correlated result maps, dynamic and iterative map definitions.</li>
<li>Simple QBE on text fields.</li>
<li>Externalised messages (for i18n/l10n).</li>
<li>WAI-friendly page structure (e.g. CSS2 styling, use of divs, not tables).</li>

Air 3: Installs files, app not functioning ERROR/This installation of this application is damaged.

MAC OSX 10.6.8 / iMAC Intel Core i7 / ADOBE AIR 3
1- Previously this configuartion of the AIR Installer and our application installed correctly from a CD we supply clients. We needed to update the signing certificate and now the install does not function as before.
2- Recent Changes: Download AIR 3.0 installer, Recompiled our app with RoboHelp: added new signing certificate (.pfx) same name as old certificate, added time stamp.
3- When we run the installer, both Air 3 and our app install onto the system, but this AIR error window appears and our app does not function:
We have worked with several different copies of the app files in case one of them were damaged.

I new to Hyperion and currently i am learning. If i say end to end implementation of Hyperion Planning and Budgeting application....what does that exactly mean in real time of perspective? I have sales database so please explain me keeping sales database in your mind.

I don't think a Planning implementation is any different than any other IT project:
1) Requirements gathering
2) Tool selection
3) Development environment install (concurrent with 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8) Install prod whenever 3 works
4) Design sessions
5) Design docs
6) Prototypes
7) Metadata and data sourcing
8) Repeat of 4 thorugh 7 as required
9) Sign-off
10) Build in prod
11) UATs/Assembly Test/whatever test
12) Happy shiny day -- lo, the project is complete
Lots of other steps but again, is the above any different than anything else? Just specialized skills (business, tool(s)) on the analysis and implementation side.
As to that:
Essbase
Some hint about the way a Chart of Accounts works
Data sourcing
Metadata sourcing
Planning "quirks" knowledge
Hopefully others will chime in, but I've given you at least a straw man view of it.

Problem with packageing and deploying a sample application

I have tried to download and install the server in my system. I am able to deploy a sample application using autodeploy utility.
But when i tried to package a new sample application and deploy i am getting 404 error. For application server i have used 7070 port and not the default 8080 port will this a problem to package & deploy sample application provided with this software.
The error is as below:

Btw, verify that the url you are trying to access is correct. For instance, assuming you deploy app. without --contextroot option. By default, the url is http://<host>:<port>/<web module name>/<value of url-pattern in web.xml> if your app contains servlet. If your app has jsp then it's http://<host>:<port>/<web module name>/<value of url-pattern in web.xml>/<name of jsp>
