Hyperion MDM 9.3 to 11.1.1 - Credentials Warning

Hi,
I am in the process of upgrading Hyperion 9.0 to 9.3 and during installtion, having the following problem:
Credentials Warning
The installer was unable to determine whether the supplied credentials are valid. Invalid credentials will prevent the proper operation of the COM+ applications. If you proceed with the installation you may have to manually reset the Identity information for these applications before the MDM service can be started. Consult the installation guide for information on the appropriate manual steps if the service does not start.
Click OK to proceed with the installation
Click Cancel to enter difference credentials
I am installing the server and validated the credentials are correct. I really appreciate, if someone could able to resolve my issue.

Don't upgrade directly. uninstall hyperion 9.0, use difference credentials.

Hi ,
I want to know that is Hyperion MDM is contrained by Operating System to support no more than 2 GB of memory?
Does it true for DRM 9.3.2 and Version 11 also?
If yes...Can it still support more than 80,000 member data into a single verion of DRM hierarchies?

There is a new 64 bit version of DRM coming mid year that should do away with many of the memory issues. You should contact your ORACLE rep for a proper roadmap.
Can you elaborate a bit on what you will be doing that you anticipate that volume. I have been involved in many implementations and I know that right now there are at least 3 Oracle customers that have over 1M and are running DRM successfully.

OBIEE integration with Hyperion MDM?

Has anybody seen or worked on a project that integrated OBIEE with Hyperion MDM/DRM? I'm not familiar with MDM but it seems to me that MDM creates metadata that may overlap what OBIEE already has.
Any information on this would be greatly helpful.

Cannot connect to Hyperion MDM application server through MDM client

Hi,
I am using Hyperion System 9 MDM.
But after installing the MDM server on a MS SQL database, i installed the mdm client.
Now when i tried to create a new connection from client app and gave the application server URL "http://localhost/mdm_ntier" as stated in the installation guide, i was getting the error.
"cannot connect to the URL".
Can anyone help me in this regard.

Hyperion Enterprise Web error when trying to do application setup

MDM 9.3 and CSS authentication

Hello All,
I installed MDM 9.3 selecting the MIX authentication option and everything works fine when I'm using internal authentication, I need to enable CSS authentication and this is what I did:
-Install Shared services 9.2 where the MDM server is running
-Update the system path and class path in the CSS section of the MDM console pointing to the right path
-Restart the server
Click on enable CSS, when I do this I'm getting this error:
LoadLibrary("E:\Hyperion\master Data Management\mdm_ntier_css_validator.dll") failed, the specified mudule could'n t be found.
I see the same error when I'm manually trying to register the specific dll doing this on a DOS command prompt window :
regsvr32 mdm_ntier_css_validator.dll
Any ideas?, any help would be really appreciated

MDM Logon Error

Hi All
I have successfully installed the older version of Hyperion MDM, having the 'razza' as MDM_SYSTEM password.
Using MDM authentication i am able to start the MDM server but while creating connection and trying to logon to client i am getting an error which reads:
Server was unable to process the request. ---> Access Denied (Exception from HRESULT:0x80070005(E_ACCESSDENIED))

Single logon for multiple reports in Hyperion Portal Insight

Hyperion Portal Insight 8.3
I have 3 reports that are to be migrated into Hyperion Insight. They are at
present in Hyperion Explorer.
It has a single login page where login information (user name and password) is
captured and then the menu page opens up.
In the menu page there are 3 links pointing to different dashboards,charts and
results. Also, this login page is a seperate query and this query calls other 3
reports and based on java script intelligence it passes on actual report
name,dashboard name and also user authorization details.
Now while migrating it onto Hyperion Portal insight, since it is web based -
1. How can I have single logon for these 3 reports stored and passed onto other
reports? since here the method for web sessions is OpenURL method.What do you
suggest? how can I achieve this (java Script,AD,Seperate reports)? Please help.

Once you are logged in to the "Hyperion Portal" as you call it, your user credentials are automatically passed among all the components. Therefore, a lot of the logic you created to pass credentials between BQY files in a desktop environment are no longer needed.

I defined only one RKM for Hyperion Planning. There is a IKM SQL to Hyperion Planning. There are two technologies defined: one for Generic File and another to Hyperion Planning. These steps are defined on the sample manual of ODI - Hyperion Planning.

How can I force DRM-BATCH-CLIENT to create a non-combined Book export

We are running EPM 11.1.2.1 and feeding master data from DRM to Planning via a Book.
This process has been working fine run from a client. We export the Book and DRM delivers a zip file to the client PC which we can place on the server and load.
We are now trying to automate the end to end process so are looking at using the DRM Batch Client.
If we run with "CombineExportOutput=Y" we can create a single text file no problem.
Whenever we set "CombineExportOutput=N" we can't get any export file created.
We really want to do is to get the same zip file with multiple dimension files inside it as we do when running from the client. How do we do this?
The manual indicates that the files created take their names from the exports but I am not sure about where this comes from.
The exports and books are set with a target of 'Client'

OK, I can see that now. Strange that DRM is under System Integration and not EPM (kinda understand it but the various EPM bits do seem to be treated differently across the Oracle website).

Oracle DRM 11.1.2 ( WEB Version)

Hi Guys,
There is urgent requirement in my project of Oracle hyperion DRM 11.1.2(web version) knowledge. I have experienced in Hyperion MDM 9 and Hyperion DRM 11 version, but i am not familiar with Oracle Hyperion DRM 11 (web version).
So, i need a favour, can anyone tell me how to sync DRM 11(web version) with MDM 9 version environment. And what are the complexity we faced while working in Oracle DRM 11.1.2(web version) than the MDM ( 9 and 11 version).

This is a much simpler process than it used to be. There's quite a bit more to cover than I can do justice in a casual response, but as far as critical path items to bring up your new environment:
The latest version of the installer will allow you to point to a v11.1.1.2 database and will 'upgrade' this into your target database. If there are any interfaces or other important processes using the DRM API or WDK these will require some reengineering effort. You'll also want to revisit your import and export process to leverage external connections before running a full regression test suite.

System 9 Services

Hello, I am having issues with System 9 services such as InteractiveReporting Base Service 1 and Communication Service not beingstarted. We run backups everynight and we have scripts thatbring the services down and then start them. We have added 5minutes delay in each service to start and stop. Since last couple of weeks, the interactive reporting baseservice 1 and communications service will not start up. Afterall attempts i have to reboot my windows server and then everythingworks fine. Production Reporting should be the old SQR product Analytic High Availability Services should be Essbase Deployment Services and I'm betting Spreadsheet services gets wrapped up with this package. Analytic Administration Services is the old Essbase Administration Services and it includes Hyperion Business Rules as a plugin. Hyperion HUB is now Shared Services (Hyperion Central is gone and has been replaced with System 9 BI+) Hyperion Intelligence is Interactive Reporting. Hyperion Performance Suite was a package that included two products, Intelligence and SQR. Enterprise Analytics is the Essbase product and refers to the Aggregate Storage feature. Essbase Analytics refers to the Block Storage feature. Business Modeling, I'm pretty sure is included in the Hyperion BI+ suite, it's now a module along with Interactive Reportin, Web Analysis, and the others. Not sure about Hyperion Objects.

Question on Include/Exclude descendent nodes option during Exports.

In the descendents option below the top nodes page on Exports, I understand the a simple listing of nodes that you want to include or export need to be listed. When I did that, it asked me that the file should be placed on the server. Does that mean that the file should be placed on C:\hyperion\mdm or something like that?

The message simply means that the file should be located on a path which exists on the server (the machine which MDM is installed). If you went to the server and the directory C:\hyperion\mdm existed, and you placed your file in this folder then it would work. If you had the same folder on your PC, then it would not work if you placed the file in this folder on your PC.
The message wants to ensure you are aware that the application can only read files in a folder that it can access. It can't access folders on your PC.
