Hyperion Performance report

Hi gurus,
I have been gng through the same error from couple of weeks, tried to resolve but could not. I have installed Reporting and Analysis, HFM and Planning. I am able to access all the components except performance scorecard.. when ever i try to open it it gives ne an error saying
"Please make sure that the Application you are trying to launch is registered with SharedServices.Shared Services must be running for the feature you are trying to access.Close the current browser window and try logging into workspace again after a little while.Contact your administrator for further information."
please help me with this......

Performance issue with Hyperion Interactive Reporting Report

Hi,
We created a report in Hyperion Interactive reporting using Hyperion Essbase as database connection file .
Report performance was good in Interactive reporting Studio we don't have any problem in studio.
when we open the report in Hyperion Workspace report performance is very very slow. We are using system 11.1.1.3
Any suggestions to resolve performance issue will be really helpful.

Thank you so much, It is working fine when the report is in table structure (List Report. I mean insert a table and drag and drop the fact items and dimention items in to the table)
The requirement is looks like that, it is not a pivot table. Now I want apply the different color or shadow for Item1 and Item 2 in all groups... Please help me.

Hyperion Interactive reporting performance issue.

Hi,
We created a report in Hyperion Interactive reporting using Hyperion Essbase as database connection file .
Report performance was good in Interactive reporting Studio we don't have any problem in studio.
when we open the the report in Hyperion Workspace We are facing performance issue of the report and also when i hit refresh button to refresh data in the Workspace,i am getting the following error message
*"An Interactive Reporting Service error has occurred - Failed to acquire requested service. Error Code : 2001"*
Any suggestions to resolve this will be really helpful.

i also faced such an issue and then i found the answer on metalink
Error: "An Interactive Reporting Service Error has Occurred. Failed to Acquire Requested Service. Error Code: 2001" when Processing a bqy Report in Workspace. [ID 1117395.1]
Applies to:
Hyperion BI+ - Version: 11.1.1.2.00 and later [Release: 11.1 and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
Obtaining the following error when trying to process a BQY that uses an Essbase data source in Workspace:
"An Interactive Reporting Service error has occurred. Failed to acquire requested service. Error Code: 2001".
Cause
The name of the data source in the CMC contained the machine name in fully qualified name format whereas the OCE contained the machine name only. This mismatch in machine names caused the problem. Making the machine name identical in both cases resolved the problem.
Solution
Ensure that the name of the data source as specified in the OCE in Interactive Reporting Studio matches the name specified in the CMC tool in the field "Enter the name of the data source".
In fact, all fields need to match between the OCE and the CMC Data Source.

Hyperion financial reporting studio not responding

hi all,
I have Hyperion financial reporting studio "client" (Hyperion 9.3.1) installed in my local machine - windows 32 bit machine.
The machine configuration is:
P4 3.0 GHz and 1 GB RAM.
When I launch Hyperion financial reporting studio with username , password and report server information the System performance parameter ( As found in task manager) goes following change:
CPU usage:fluctuates between 45 - 100% which was initially 1%
PF usage:jumps to 1.32GB which was initially 362MB
Physical memory available : drops down from 762188(K) to 1728(K)
application status: Not responding
AND ULTIMATELY THE WINDOW OF FINANCIAL REPORTING STUDIO VANISHES .There is no error log created ??
I cannot proceed further. Please help me out...

Query : Hyperion Performance Scorecard Rollup Functionality

Hi All,
Hyperion Performance Scorecard Rollup Functionality in measure and scorecard template.
Query: We are implementing Hyperion performance scorecard for a client using measure template and scorecard templates after build client came up with following new requirements-
Strategy hierarchy as follows-
Level 1- SBU (Parent) Level 2- Groups (Child), 3- Teams( Chilld), 4- Desk ( Child), 5- RM (Child)
1 Along with Existing scorecards functionality they need to roll up 2 KPIs (Credit Quality1,Credit Quality2) explicitly only at RM level ( at lowest level).
2- Need to follow this hierarchy for these scorecards roll up (RMs to Desks to Teams to Groups to SBUs)
3- No of KPIs to be used/modified (credit quality2 means bad assets-non performing loan & Credit quality 1 means good assets-performing loan)
4- Both these KPIs should roll up to all RMs only but KPI bad asset (Credit Quality2) should not roll up to Desk, to Teams, to Groups, To SBUs but KPI1 Good Assets (performing asset) should roll up to all levels.
4.1-Example let’s assume there are 2 RMs (RM1 & RM2) RM1 is having bad asset & RM2 is not having bad asset then only for RM1 both KPI should roll up but at above levels 1st KPI (non-performing assets ) should not roll up but second KPI ( performing assets) should roll up.
5- No of scorecards required means RMs * approx 3000, Desk*Total numbers ,Teams*Total numbers ,Groups*total numbers, finally SBUs*total numbers.
As per my understanding in the existing HPS design we are using Measure Templates & Scorecard Templates in which all KPIs are automatically rolling up to RMs then from RMs to all above hierarchies, now for this new requirement explicitly we need to create another scorecard (secondary scorecard) with 2 KPIs both should roll up to RMs (3000 approx) but should not roll up to above hierarchy (to Desks to Teams to Groups to SBUs) only we need to roll up 1 KPI to all above hierarchies not the other KPI or this new scorecard.
As per my understanding in the current design all KPIs are rolling up to all levels.
Question : In current scenario is there a possibility or solution to restrict a particular KPI to rollup to above levels?*

I'm not sure that the Power Pivot plugin for Excel will be available here. We use Excel 2010. We have restrictions in our environment. Additionally, we have 32bit Office installed and my understanding is that you need 64 bit on both client and
server when working with Power Pivot. So exporting Excel Power Pivots from SharePoint 2010 to a 32 bit client wouldn't work (or vice-vera) wouldn't work.
By robust I mean the ability to utilize different types of data sources (CSV, EXCEL, SQL Server, ORACLE) as well as Data Models, (transactional, analytical, tabular). The ability to handle large datasets, pivot table funcitonality, drill down and drill
through, rich data visualizations.
Currently this data is in Oracle. I will need to export it to SQL and I would like to leave it as OLTP since OLAP technologies are not currently in our skill set. Hopefully these can be added in the next year or so. If Power View loses the bulk
of it's reporting power when moving to OLTP, I will just build these in SSRS UNLESS, I can use Group By, Rollup and CUBE in my queries to give Power View a data set where it's capabiliities can be utilized.

Hyperion Performance Scorecard - Accessing via parameterized URL

Hi everyone,
I would like to access Hyperion Performance Scorecard via a URL using predefined parameters. We want to create matrix in Interactive Reporting which will act a menu. The menu will consist of products in the rows of the matrix and regions in the columns. If the use clicks on a specific cell in the matrix that pertains to a specific product and region I want to then use a URL to access Hyperion Performance Scorecard with the region and product as parameters which in turn will take me to a specific strategy map or scorecard in Hyperion Performance Scorecard.
Does anyone know how to do this or point me to documentation that will provide insight on this?

Cell Text Annotations of Hyperion Planning on Hyperion Financial Reporting

Hello,
There is a business requirement to show Cell text entered as annotation on each cells in data form to be reported using Hyperion Financial Reporting.
Also there is a case of some of the data types being text. Some of the forms also have supporting details.
Now I want to check how easy or difficult is it to report from Hyperion Planning V11.1.2 for the above mentioned.
Are there any noticeable performance issues?
Is it possible to report the cell text annotations , Supporting details & Datatype 'Text' from data form on Financial Report?

I haven't used the text data type, however I have done quite a bit of reporting on supporting detail. All you have to do is use a Hyperion Planning data source instead of an Essbase data source. (and specify on the report to show supporting detail). In general, Hyperion Planning data sources are slightly slower than Essbase data sources. How much slower depends on a lot of factors, but supporting detail can certainly slow things down.
One key limitation with reports that display this type of data is that it doesn't "roll up" the hierarchies. Your report has to be at the same level (in all dimensions) where the supporting detail was entered. So you can't pick an upper level Entity and show all of the supporting detail for it's descendants unless your report also includes the descendants. I understand why this limitation exists, but I routinely have clients that would like this functionality. (For Example - Show me all of the supporting details for the entire plan.)

Hyperion Financial Reporting - Need Help

Currently I am working on to create new Financial reports in Financial Reporting Studio. I am very new to Reporting and trying to create new reports, was able to modify existing reports, but facing problems while creating new reports.

How to dynamically calculate sub-total of rows and display when member changes in Hyperion Financial Report

Requirement - I am writing a very large reports from Hyperion Performance Cost management.
Account is in Row. We are taking all level0 members in Row. In columns we are taking Entity,Cost Centers
Current Structure of the Report
41100 Entity1 Cost center1 20
41100 Entity1 Cost center2 30
41100 Entity1 Cost cenetr3 40
41200 Entity 10 Cost center1 200
41200 Entity 10 Cost center2 210
41200 Entity 10 Cost center3 200
Grand Total 1000 ( For Example)
User wants to dynamically add a sub total into the report when account (41200,41100) changes i.e. This is because , its a very large report of 100's of pages,

maybe re-consider this approach and say no to the users who request this. Try to think about other solutions.
Sometimes a "no" helps them more than doing what they ask.
You might export the whole in Excel. Then they can make their subtotals at every line.

Hyperion Finance Reports - Get previous Column value using cell function

Hi Guys,
In Hyperion Financial Reports, i am trying to get the value of the previous column.
I have tried hard coding the reference of the previous column by putting Col[B] as a cell formula.
But i need to achieve it using dynamic formula for example
Cell(Current Row, Current Column -1)
The above explanation is syntactically incorrect, i am looking out for the correct syntax which helps me get the value of the previous column.

What are you trying to achieve? Maybe there are different ways to look at it.
There is no function (that i'm aware of) which performs a previous column display. Why you do think that [B] when you are in C is not working?

Cleaning active alerts list in hyperion performance scorecard

Hi all,
does anybody know how to delete the active alerts posting within hyperion performance scorecard without going to the database?
When an alert is triggered, it is put to the reports page: active alerts of the subscriber.
Question: Is there a possibility to clear this list?
