While configuring Hyperion reports (9.3.1)with shared services got the error" Registration with shared service is failed".

It was working fine for me earlier.Once my system got shut down automatically and after that i am facing this problem.
I have restarted all the services which i used to start for strating hyperion financial reporting client.Actually while starting
the hyperion finacial reportng services(embedded java container)itself i am getting the following error

Hyperion Reports Error when running a report against HFM application

Hi,
Trying to run a report that the source is a HFM app and get this error:
5200: Error executing query: ALE syntax error near: line number 1 position 137 token Period
Anyone know what might be the cause.. I have no idea as to what it could be. I'm not a Reports expert, mainly an Essbase person...

Error while running batch in Hyperion Reports

Has anybody run accross this error while trying to run a batch in Hyperion Reports:
Unexpected Error creating query to datasource in createCubeViews:
The book the batch is running is big...

Have you ever successfully scheduled a batch? Make sure the scheduled batch name does not contain an ampersand "&" symbol or an apostrophe/single tick symbol. Those cause batches to error out for us.

Hyperion Financial Reporting : Error 1001

While connecting from Hyperion Reports 7.0 to an Essbase cube (Ver 7.1.6.6) stored on another server, I am getting an error (Error 1001: Unable to connect to datasource) while running any report. However I am able to create reports using the metadata of the cubes.
The problem occurs only when I try executing any report. :-(
Is there any API issue out here?
Can anyone help me debug this situation?

Hyperion Reports - HFMCurrency function error when expanding rows

Im using Hyperion Reports 7.2.On the report in the production environment, Ihave a cell containing a HFMCurrency function with a conditionalformatting: In<<HFMCurrency("Grid1", 5, A, 1)>>Thousands Conditional formatting applied: IF Member NameValue contains Contributions OR IF Member NameValue contains Parent OR IF Member NameValue equals Proportion THEN ReplaceString Value : In USD Thousands The report contains multiple expandable rows. Everytime a row isexpanded it returns this value with an error on the cell containingthe formula: In Error: Unable to get cell valueThousands It's weird because the error on the report does not persist inthe development environment. Any insights will be helpful. You mayreply on this thread or send directly your comments to:[email protected] Thanks. 

If you use this function/syntax on the row without expansions does it work? If so, I believe the issue has to do with the syntax. You might need to use the current keyword to make the function dynamic (for example, <<HFMCurrency("Grid1", current,A,1)>>). When you write the formula with a fixed value for rows, it's not dynamic (for the expanded rows). Although, I wouldn't expect you to get an error, just the wrong description. To narrow it down, I would try the function on a row w/o expansions or conditional formatting. Then add expansions. If that works, add back the conditional formatting.

Report Error from Hyperion 9.3 Dashboard

I have created a button to process the query using hyperion 9.3 dashboard and encounter this error below.
This error only occur when i'm using in client but in the website itself no error but result of the report is incorrect.
Server Error [1003]: Failed to acquire access to database.
Oracle Error - 1: ORA-1007 : invalid username/password; logon denied
May I know what missing sript or additional script that may trigger this error? How to I ensure in future this error will not pop up again?

It appears- You've not configured the DAS from-
Start -> All Programs -> Hyperion -> Reporting & Analysis -> Utilities and Administration -> Service Configurator
Please note that- Restart of BI+ services is mandatory after DAS configuration to process the queries from IR web client !!!

When I try running my hyperion reports it throughs me 5200 error....I checked all DB connection and reports format and formula's everything seems fine to me.

Hyperion Reports 1.7 error 2005 trying to connect

User trying to login to via VPN to Hyperion Reports 1.7 from one of our european offices gets follwing message:2005: The system cannot access the Report Server at this time. try again later or confirm the reports server available"1. User's laptop work fine when connected at home office2. tried IP address and alternate DNS names for Reports server3. I tried from my house via VPN wityh no probelem4. user ID/password verified & testedIdeas an where to start?

along with nqsconfig.ini file you need to do the changes in instanceconfig.xml file too see below:
Stop Oracle BI Server and Presentation Services on all nodes except where you are refreshing the user GUIDs. For example:
cd ORACLE_HOME/admin/instancen/bin
./opmnctl stopproc ias-component=coreapplication_obips1./opmnctl stopproc ias-component=coreapplicaiton_obis1
Update the FMW_UPDATE_ROLE_AND_USER_REF_GUIDS parameter in NQSConfig.INI:
Open NQSConfig.INI for editing at:
ORACLE_INSTANCE/config/OracleBIServerComponent/coreapplication_obisn
Locate the FMW_UPDATE_ROLE_AND_USER_REF_GUIDS parameter and set it to YES, as follows:
FMW_UPDATE_ROLE_AND_USER_REF_GUIDS = YES;
Save and close the file.
Update the Catalog element in instanceconfig.xml:
Open instanceconfig.xml for editing at:
ORACLE_INSTANCE/config/OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent/
coreapplication_obipsn
Locate the Catalog element and update it as follows:
<Catalog>
<UpgradeAndExit>false</UpgradeAndExit>

Important: You must perform this step to ensure that your system is secure.
Update the Catalog element in instanceconfig.xml to remove the UpdateAccount GUIDs entry.
Restart the Oracle Business Intelligence system components again using opmnctl:
cd ORACLE_HOME/admin/instancen/bin
./opmnctl stopall
./opmnctl startall

Hi, While running a report on Hyperion Reports, I get this error, "5200 : Error executing query: Watessp1/SBU/SBU/nimbalkh/Error(1013033) ReportWriter exit abnormally". I can generate reports in excel though. Any help? Thanks, Hank

We were not experiencing this issue before. We have a dense dimension and added a new member to this dimension. Since then we have been experiencing this. I tried the following steps: 1. Removed the new member from the dimension. Still we were getting the error. 2. Made the dimension as sparse. Did not help. Do I need to reload the cube and re-calc it again after I change the setting from dense to sparse?

FR reports error-5200: Error executing query

I'm working on FR-11.1.1.3.0238 version. i'm facing issues with some of the reports related to planning application db while launching reports in workspace. Where as the reports are opening with out any issues in FR studio and there is no error message recorded in the studio.The error message is recorded in the workspace related log file.
I thought that there might be any pov corruption issue so i ran the ManageUserPov utility as well but there is no luck.
Let me know the cause of this error message and also the resolution for it.

Neeraj,
In the FR report server the settings are as you suggested except the TcpTimedWaitDelay = 60, this setting is set to 30.
The same settings are there in Essbase and Planning servers.
So i would like to know what exactly is all about the setting and the possible cause of the problem. It would be very helpful if i can get the cause.

Hyperion Reporting and Analysis - DAS, IR and Job Services Replication..

Dear All,
We are on Hyperion System 9.3.1 on Windows box and Repository in Oracle 10g Database. We have around 300 Interactive scheduled jobs.
When these jobs are getting executed Hyperion Services are getting hang and In logs we are getting "Process out of memory..".
In order to overcome "Process out of Memory.. Exiting" error. We need to replicate DAS, Interactive Reporting and Job Services on the same machine.
I am doing Hyperion's IR, DAS, JOB Services Replication in Development environment. To achieve the same I performed the following tasks :
# I have installed and configured Hyperion System 9.3.1 below components on MS Windows XP professional SP2 and Repository in Oracle 10g database.
Hyperion Shared Services 9.3.1
Hyperion Reporting and Analysis BI+ Services
Hyperion Reporting and Analysis UI+ Services
Every thing was configured fine.
# To replicate the IR, DAS and Job Services. I started the Hyperion Reporting and Analysis BI+ Setup on the same machine then I select IR, DAS and Job Services.
# Next I started Configuration Utility. Which ask me to configure Database. I selected the same database which I used for BI Services previously. Database Configuration was successful.
# I changed the Port as below
Core Services to 7801 instead of 6801
Chaged the port for Job Service 7796 instead of 6796.
# Next started Service Configurator where System was showing one more Job Service (JF2_<hostname>) in Remote Service Configurator. And in Local Service Configurator System was showing new BI and DAS. Then I configured Data Sources in DAS.
# Started the Services.
Next I started the Scheduled Jobs. It is taking same time as earlier. In logs it is showing that Only JF2_<hostname> Service is getting used. System is not using JF1_<HOSTNAME> anymore.
I have few query regarding this.
1) Why Configuration Utility didn't ask for GSM host and Port? Do I need to configure it manually?
2) I have not chaged the port for DAS and IR Services. my concern is regarding port usage by new DAS and IR Services ? Do I need to configure it or It will be managed by system itself?
Please show me the direction. Any help would be highly appreciable.

We have replicated the Hyperion Reporting and Analysis Services by changing the port number of Replicated Services to non-default port.
Services are working fine.

Reports error 80020101 when accessing through workspace

We have a distributed environment(11.1.2), and every time our users try to access financial reports via workspace, it errors out after a while:(restarting reports services makes it work again-for a while)
Error executing file: "http://<servername>:19000/hr/modules/com/hyperion/reporting/web/common/HRCore.js
Error
Could not complete the operation due to error 80020101
Could it be a bandwidth/network traffic issue?
For now, we have increased the number of "active connections" for both EPMSystem registry and RA framework through the admin console(JDBC data sources).
Only reports errors out. workspace works fine all the time.

It appeared when I itried to open one report that I exported from Financial Report that I generated previously in Development Environment. Once, I imported it to Test Environment and I opened the error appeared. In order to solve the problem I checked database connection and I realized it was missing. So, you coluld try looking for the currect database connection! Good luck!

Financial Reports error

Hi xperts,
We just installed Financial Reports and webanalsis on the same server. I am able to connect to essbase properly with webabalysis, but the problem is with Financial reporting. I am able to login in to reports but when I am creating a new report. when I am giving the info regarding the essbase I got a information dialog box saying " Failed to connect to server" .. can anyone help me out with this.
