Hyperion Reports preferences issue

Hi ,
We are using version 7.x Hyp Reports, I am wondering how to change the user preferences to PDF View from one center location where the change must be applied to every user. I gone through the doc but no use... if any one face this issue let me know.

I have been through this.. So I do conditional formating to solve this.. If Gen1 , Indent 2 spacesIf Gen 2, indent 4 spaces I am using these for different generations on row level and itworks absolutely fine..

Im new to using Hypreion Reports. I am using a variancepercent function the calculation is correct, but the %format isnt being carried down the the total and subtotal line items. Im using a Descendants of (Member) (Inclusive)function and have tried inherent formatting. am i doing somehing wrong??

As you suggest me, i restarted my PC. When again connected to FR studio -> It gives error. I opened the "FRClient.log" file, the content looks like this

Hyperion Reports 11.1.2.2 database login issue

HI ,
We are on Hyperion reports v11.1.2.2 , for some reason whenever user logged in and try to pull the report ..it is prompting for database user credentials for first time(first report).
After that it wont ask for any other report. How to avoid this prompt?? ..is there anyway that we can save password forever, ...so it wont ask for each login. or is there anyway that we can pass the login credenitials of workspace to even for database.
Did anyone faced this issue.?? Can you please post your experineces on this..

Hi,
11.1.1.3 and 11.1.2.3 are totally different in many aspects. Again there are various factors which decide the performance like OS, DB, App Server, Web Server and Component level. So its hard to forecast the performance even before we get in to the the environment. In general unlike your 11.1.1.3 there are so many performance tuning parameters we have in 11.1.2.3.

Hyperion Reports Batch Email Issue

Hi All,
I am having trouble getting Hyperion Reports (v11) to send emails after running a batch. We have gotten it to work with Taskflows in the Hyperion Workspace but not in Hyperion Reports.
Does Reports use the same email address as Taskflows? [email protected]?

I figured this out. It was something on our mail server that needed to be set up. The emails come from the user who sets up the batch.

Hyperion Reporting Studio 9.3.1

Any idea on how to import batch reports from previous Hyperion Reports. Currentyl, I have to import one report at a time and it is time consuming. Also, I would to know how to set up Web Forms and Data Grid in Workspace 9.3.1

I was wondering if you might know what my problem is! (Well hyperion related anyway).
I built an entire development environment for our 9.3.1 systems, including Financial Reporting. I attempted to export / import an entire zip folder full of reports; however, nothing happens on the import! When you supply the file, the status meter starts working and then it quickly ends without any success or failure message. Additionally, when I look in the folders, none of the reports have been imported. At first I thought the issue might have been related to the size of my zip file as I exported a large number of folders/reports. Unfortunately, I still receive the same issue when I try importing a much smaller file of ~10 reports.
Any thoughts as to what the issue might be?

Hyperion Reports 7.25 Report Runs 10 - 20 Times Slower in FR 11.1.1.3

I exported a Report from Hyperion Reports V7.2.5 and Imported it into Financial Reporting V11.1.1.3 via Workspace. When I run the report in Financial Reporting Studio 11.1.1.3 or Workspace 11.1.1.3 it is 10 to 20 times slower.
Note, no changes have been made to the Report structure or the structure of the Essbase database that is being used as a datasource.
However, the Essbase Version is now 11.1.1.3. It was 7. Also, the server hosting the Financial Reporting 11.1.1.3 application is a VMWare Server - the server hosting Hyperion Reports V7.2.5 was a physical server not VMWare.
The only thing I did notice that was different in the report is when you highlight the entire grid and right-click to view Data Optimization Settings - there is an option in 11.1.1.3 that says "Essbase Queries use MDX" "Combined Queries with Member". This doesn't exist in Hyperion Reports V7.2.5.
Has anyone experience a simlar issue with this extreme performance degradation? I am using more robust servers with faster cpu's and more memory.
I did play around with the tcp/ip settings as recommended in a version 9.x support document, but this did nothing.

Unfortunately I don't have a physical server to play around with. This was one of my concerns with using VMWare.
I didn't make any product configurations for Hyperion Reports V7.2.5. The only configurations I made were for tcp/ip settings.
I did try to run a V 7.2.5 report against Essbase 11 and it ran just as fast as it did against Essbase 7. This definitely leads me to believe the slower performance is related to Financial Reporting V11.1.1.3 or something on the server - note the performance issue is only on reports that retrieve large data sets. For all smaller reports there is no issue.

Wrong sign in Hyperion report

Hi,
I am facing a strange issue with Hyperion reports. In the report created through FR studio I am pulling a particular balance sheet account. When I pull that same account through smartview, it shows up correctly as a negative amount, but surprisingly in the report it shows up as a positive amount!
Any suggestions to resolve this issue?

Are you sure you have assigned the correct formatting for the cells to take into account for negative value? You can check it by opening the report in reporting studio.

Hyperion Reporting and Analysis

Hello Gurus,
So I installed Hyperion (11.1.2.2) foundation services(all componants), essbase(all componants), planning (all componants. well, it was only one componant), Reporting and Analysis framework (web application, services and common libraries. i installed only these two because hyperion planning depends on them), financial management ADM driver (chosen by default when i want to install hyperion reporting and analysis). i installed them and configured them all togather. I'm using a Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.7.0 - 64bit Production on Windows 2008 SP2 32bits.
Configuration of Reporting and Analysis framework failed, and that caused several problems when i ran the EPM system Diagnosis. this is what i got. Note: I'm gonna list only the errors/warnings in anything other than reporting and Analysis. as for reporting and analysis, i'm gonna list everything. sorry it's so long....

yes, looks like i didn't have moduke 7 downloaded. however after i did and installed it, i still got the following errors that seemed to do with connectivity to RAFRAMEWORK and it's database. Hyperion Reports - automating reports by e-mail

Hi, I have recently upgraded to Hyperion Reports 7.2. I'mrunning on Essbase 6.5.42. Our old version of HyperionReports was 2.6, and I always had problems running reports usingthe batch scheduler, so never used it. I was hoping to beable to use it once we upgraded. While I am able to schedulebatches and have them run successfully now, the e-mailing of thepdf output always fails. Has anyone had this issue? There is really no error message given except to say that itfailed. I don't know if there is some setup that's supposedto take place that is causing this failure or what. Hyperionsupport has, as usual, been no help, so any assistance would begreatly appreciated.

Go to \Hyperion\HyperionReports\lib on your report server, open hr_schedulebatch.properties and change the logging option to DEBUG. You may need to do this for other property files in the folder as well depending on where the source of your problem is. Does any emailing work? You said PDF fails, does HTML email succeed, or can you send a notification email, but not with report attached? Wondering if the issue is the mail settings, or the PDF generator. Simple check is to see if you can manually run a report and select view as PDF and see if it works.

Hyperion Reports - HFMCurrency function error when expanding rows

Im using Hyperion Reports 7.2.On the report in the production environment, Ihave a cell containing a HFMCurrency function with a conditionalformatting: In<<HFMCurrency("Grid1", 5, A, 1)>>Thousands Conditional formatting applied: IF Member NameValue contains Contributions OR IF Member NameValue contains Parent OR IF Member NameValue equals Proportion THEN ReplaceString Value : In USD Thousands The report contains multiple expandable rows. Everytime a row isexpanded it returns this value with an error on the cell containingthe formula: In Error: Unable to get cell valueThousands It's weird because the error on the report does not persist inthe development environment. If you use this function/syntax on the row without expansions does it work? If so, I believe the issue has to do with the syntax. You might need to use the current keyword to make the function dynamic (for example, <<HFMCurrency("Grid1", current,A,1)>>). When you write the formula with a fixed value for rows, it's not dynamic (for the expanded rows). Although, I wouldn't expect you to get an error, just the wrong description. To narrow it down, I would try the function on a row w/o expansions or conditional formatting. Then add expansions. If that works, add back the conditional formatting.

Where are Hyperion Reports 7.2 e-mails addresses stored?

In Hyperion Reports 7.2, where are the e-mail addresses that you select to send output stored? Is there a way to export/import a list? We just upgraded from Reports 2.6 and the users are complaining that the list has been wiped out. Regards, Tom M. [email protected] Essbase 6.5.7 

Will, Go to \\Hyperion\HyperionReports\lib\hr_global.properties on your report server. Open the file in a text editor and look for the SMTP settings section. There you should put the name or IP Address of the SMTP server. Restart your report services and you should be set to go. As far as the sending email account, from the Hyperion client, go into Preferences and input the email address you want to send with in the "Your email address" field. Now that will take care of sending emails from the client. If you plan to send reports via email from a batch file, it will default to a system account for the email, most email systems will not allow this so you will have to code the sending email address into your XML file used to send the batch. This is not overly obvious as the SENDER tag is not one of the defaults (don't ask me why) you need to go through the doc for an example or if you need one, send me an email and I can forward a sample to you. HTH

Hyperion Reports 7.2.5 -generating base level only of selected Organisation

Hopefully this is the right place to ask about Hyperion reports - 7.2.5
I'm trying to design a report and need a nudge in the right direction...
The user should select their division and the reports should then display only the base level children of the selected division.
I've tried selecting Functions -
children of current pov for organisation - which gives the next level of the selected org
descendants of current pov - gives all levels below the selected org. (therefore duplicating parent/child levels)
Bottom of Hierarchy - gives all the base level of the whole organisation (rather than just the one selected)
Lists - level 0, organisation - as above, gives level 0 of the entire org
Someone tell me its possible to just get the level 0 of the current pov organisation...it must be something obvious I'm missing!

(level o of Account) Union (descenants of Corp Cost), but the result are still not " level o of Corp cost".
How to get " level o of Corp cost", Corp Cost is one member under "Account" dimension.

Hyperion Reports Services stop

Hello
We are having an issue while running Oracle Hyperion Financial Reporting 11.1.2.674 on Win 2003 R2 X64 os.
Every so often the report services stop and with it suspend the workspace services too. We can get the workspace restarted but not the reports. The only solution so far has been to either restart the server, which doesn't always work or re-install Hyperion Reports. Now, I was told that it is an undocumented feature in this release and there is nothing we can do.
I find that hard to believe so I'd like to know if anyone is experiencing strange services related issues, that cannot be explained. And if so has anyone got any ideas as to what could be causing this problem.
I realise it's difficult as this does not happen all the time, but is certainly has a regular pattern to it. The server is regularly restarted as a standard procedure.
If any one has any wise answers we could try I would appreciate it.

Hyperion Reports Scheduler stopped working after 4 years of reliable servic

Hello,
I'm puzzled by this, but today at 4:00 AM, the scheduler stopped working. I tried to manually restart the service to no avail. I rebooted the server, nothing. I reinstalled Reports (but selected retain configuration), yet nothing. I'm perplexed as this has been working without issues for 4 years. Next step is to check whether the IT group did a patch upgrade of the OS and may have caused this.
If anyone has an idea, pls forward. Many thanks.

schedule.xml must be deleted if it reaches 8 megs. Surprised that Hyperion did not come with something more intuitive.
