Hyperion Reports SmartView Provider Logs

I am unable to connect to my Financial Reporting and Analysis provider through Excel. Does anyone know where the logs are for smartview connections? I am using Websphere 6.1

I have the same setup with the same problem. I was wondering if upgrading to Websphere 6 or higher might fix the problem.

We are on Oracle/Hyperion v11.1.1.3 (BI/Foundation/Planning Services on Solaris Unix; Weblogic; Essbase on Windows).
Our users have created some MS Powepoint presentations that contain pages that run a Financial Report (FR) which queries data from a planning application using a "Hyperion Reporting and Analysis" Independent provider connection (example: "http://server_name:19000/workspace/browse/listxml").
I am unable to find the location of the log files that shows where logon/activity is tracked. We have looked and only find tracing information from Essbase log files when the query runs and authentication happens at the Essbase level but need to find where the other log information (including APS service activity) is logged to.

Hyperion Reporting and Analysis

Hello Gurus,
So I installed Hyperion (11.1.2.2) foundation services(all componants), essbase(all componants), planning (all componants. well, it was only one componant), Reporting and Analysis framework (web application, services and common libraries. i installed only these two because hyperion planning depends on them), financial management ADM driver (chosen by default when i want to install hyperion reporting and analysis). i installed them and configured them all togather. I'm using a Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.7.0 - 64bit Production on Windows 2008 SP2 32bits.
Configuration of Reporting and Analysis framework failed, and that caused several problems when i ran the EPM system Diagnosis. this is what i got. Note: I'm gonna list only the errors/warnings in anything other than reporting and Analysis. as for reporting and analysis, i'm gonna list everything. sorry it's so long....

yes, looks like i didn't have moduke 7 downloaded. however after i did and installed it, i still got the following errors that seemed to do with connectivity to RAFRAMEWORK and it's database. Unable to register Hyperion Reporting and Analysis with Shared Services

Hello everybody,
I'm trying to install and configure Foundation Services in order to schedule Brio Query documents execution and distribution.
IBM DB2 Express has been installed and configured.
Shared Services have been installed and configured.
Reporting and Analysis - System 9 Services have been installed and not yet configured.
Reporting and Analysis - System 9 UI Services have been installed and not yet configured.
When proceeding with Hyperion Reporting and Analysis configuration in registering with Shared Services, provided with the same host, port, user profile and password used for configuring Shared Services, I get the following message:
"An unknown CSS error occured.
Please check that the information entered is correct."

The service runs until I try to confirm the registration while configuring HRA. Then it stops.

Hyperion Reports unable to connect to HFM

I have a problem with Win32 version of Hyperion Reports 7.2.1.6.
Server: Windows Server 2003
WorkStation: Windows XP Professional [Version 5.1.2600]
HFM server version: 4.0.2.0.967
Reports client version: 7.2.1.6
HFM client version: 4.0.1.0.750
Description of problem: In Reports Win32 client, File>Database Connection Manager>Edit [HFM application] connection, attempt to connect, fails, giving access error,
"Failed to Connect to Server. [Show details] Error connecting to database connection SENAOD: Access is denied"
On the HFM server, the security event log shows rejection of the userID that is in use on the workstation. This ID has no rights on the server. This configuration worked fine, I believe, until a group of Windows patches was applied.

My bet is that at least one of these patches eliminated unauthenticated access to HFM connectivity. My challenge now is to reconfigure HFM and Reports to work under these new Windows security rules. Can anyone help?
More information:
Browser client works fine, Win32 client does not.
Win32 client works fine from server's client installation and from client installation on another server. These servers are all in the same MS Active Directory domain. My conclusion is that success comes because I log into these servers using a valid MSAD ID.
Failure is only on workstations trying to connect to the servers.
Workstation user authentication is LDAP via Novell eDirectory

You may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPad a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the "i" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.

I already Installed and Configured FDM.
I need to provide Drill through functionality on Hyperion Planning Workspace (Hyperion Reports built using Hyperion Financial Reporting Studio and Data Forms) to Oracle Financials(GL) by using FDM.
I think 1st i need to develop Application in FDM Workbench to Push data from Oracle Financials to Hyperion Essbase.
than i need to enable "Drill" on Hyperion Finaical Reports.
Can you please share link , guide or any thing.

Hyperion Reporting and Analysis - DAS, IR and Job Services Replication..

Dear All,
We are on Hyperion System 9.3.1 on Windows box and Repository in Oracle 10g Database. We have around 300 Interactive scheduled jobs.
When these jobs are getting executed Hyperion Services are getting hang and In logs we are getting "Process out of memory..".
In order to overcome "Process out of Memory.. Exiting" error. We need to replicate DAS, Interactive Reporting and Job Services on the same machine.
I am doing Hyperion's IR, DAS, JOB Services Replication in Development environment. To achieve the same I performed the following tasks :
# I have installed and configured Hyperion System 9.3.1 below components on MS Windows XP professional SP2 and Repository in Oracle 10g database.
Hyperion Shared Services 9.3.1
Hyperion Reporting and Analysis BI+ Services
Hyperion Reporting and Analysis UI+ Services
Every thing was configured fine.
# To replicate the IR, DAS and Job Services. I started the Hyperion Reporting and Analysis BI+ Setup on the same machine then I select IR, DAS and Job Services.
# Next I started Configuration Utility. Which ask me to configure Database. I selected the same database which I used for BI Services previously. Database Configuration was successful.
# I changed the Port as below
Core Services to 7801 instead of 6801
Chaged the port for Job Service 7796 instead of 6796.
# Next started Service Configurator where System was showing one more Job Service (JF2_<hostname>) in Remote Service Configurator. And in Local Service Configurator System was showing new BI and DAS. Then I configured Data Sources in DAS.
# Started the Services.
Next I started the Scheduled Jobs. It is taking same time as earlier. In logs it is showing that Only JF2_<hostname> Service is getting used. System is not using JF1_<HOSTNAME> anymore.
I have few query regarding this.
1) Why Configuration Utility didn't ask for GSM host and Port? Do I need to configure it manually?
2) I have not chaged the port for DAS and IR Services. my concern is regarding port usage by new DAS and IR Services ? Do I need to configure it or It will be managed by system itself?
Please show me the direction. Any help would be highly appreciable.

We have replicated the Hyperion Reporting and Analysis Services by changing the port number of Replicated Services to non-default port.

Hyperion Reports 11.1.2.2 database login issue

HI ,
We are on Hyperion reports v11.1.2.2 , for some reason whenever user logged in and try to pull the report ..it is prompting for database user credentials for first time(first report).
After that it wont ask for any other report. How to avoid this prompt?? ..is there anyway that we can save password forever, ...so it wont ask for each login. or is there anyway that we can pass the login credenitials of workspace to even for database.
Did anyone faced this issue.?? Can you please post your experineces on this..

11.1.1.3 and 11.1.2.3 are totally different in many aspects. Again there are various factors which decide the performance like OS, DB, App Server, Web Server and Component level. So its hard to forecast the performance even before we get in to the the environment. In general unlike your 11.1.1.3 there are so many performance tuning parameters we have in 11.1.2.3.

Wrong sign in Hyperion report

Hi,
I am facing a strange issue with Hyperion reports. In the report created through FR studio I am pulling a particular balance sheet account. When I pull that same account through smartview, it shows up correctly as a negative amount, but surprisingly in the report it shows up as a positive amount!
Any suggestions to resolve this issue?

Are you sure you have assigned the correct formatting for the cells to take into account for negative value? You can check it by opening the report in reporting studio.

i have started all Hyperion services

In the services, the Hyperion Reporting and Analysis Framework is not STARTED. When I start it manually, it starts but again after a minute the START status goes away, meaning it stops by itself.
What could have happened?

Hyperion Reports - automating reports by e-mail

Hi, I have recently upgraded to Hyperion Reports 7.2. I'mrunning on Essbase 6.5.42. Our old version of HyperionReports was 2.6, and I always had problems running reports usingthe batch scheduler, so never used it. I was hoping to beable to use it once we upgraded. While I am able to schedulebatches and have them run successfully now, the e-mailing of thepdf output always fails. Has anyone had this issue? There is really no error message given except to say that itfailed. I don't know if there is some setup that's supposedto take place that is causing this failure or what. Hyperionsupport has, as usual, been no help, so any assistance would begreatly appreciated.

Go to \Hyperion\HyperionReports\lib on your report server, open hr_schedulebatch.properties and change the logging option to DEBUG. You may need to do this for other property files in the folder as well depending on where the source of your problem is. Does any emailing work? You said PDF fails, does HTML email succeed, or can you send a notification email, but not with report attached? Wondering if the issue is the mail settings, or the PDF generator. Simple check is to see if you can manually run a report and select view as PDF and see if it works.

Hyperion Reporting 7.21 - E-mail / SMPT Configuration

I need to update my SMTP configuration to point to our new Exchange server as my Scheduler within HR no longer sends e-mails. I have updated our hr_global.properties file to reflect the new server and recycled the services. I can also send test messages via telnet which also works properly. Hi Ekta,
Probably the best Hyperon tool is Financial Reporting, which creates Production ready reporting/PDFs for export or bursting scheduling.
Although I'm not sure about supporting JavaBean as a data source - one way around it might be to export the data from the source into an essbase "reporting cube".

Hyperion Reports Scheduler stopped working after 4 years of reliable servic

Hello,
I'm puzzled by this, but today at 4:00 AM, the scheduler stopped working. I tried to manually restart the service to no avail. I rebooted the server, nothing. I reinstalled Reports (but selected retain configuration), yet nothing. I'm perplexed as this has been working without issues for 4 years. Next step is to check whether the IT group did a patch upgrade of the OS and may have caused this.
If anyone has an idea, pls forward. Many thanks.
