Hi while starting services Hyperion S9 BI+ 9.3 Financial Reporting Scheduler Server is stopping automatically why this is and if i launch FR Studio i am getting a error message "You are not authorized person. Contact your administrator" could I know the reason and how can i rectify.

I believe- What you mentioned is a classic example of Memory leakage with Windows-Hyperion duo.
We used to face similar situation with Windows & Hyperion EIS. So, during the off hours, a scheduled batch script kills
the process & re-start the service +(as you seem to be now doing manually)+ .
TASKKILL /F /IM olapisvr.exe > %LogFile%
NET START "Hyperion Analytic Integration Server" >> %LogFile%
I'm not quite comfortable with this solution. However, we didn't face problems after doing this.

App Store Financial Report Schedule
Hi, everyone,
So my app went up for sale on Oct. 13. I'm wondering what the schedule is for receiving the financial report and then payment. Reading the forum, I see that payment does come about three weeks after the financial reports come, but when do the financial reports come? I had expected that I would receive one close to the beginning of this month, but none has come yet. Is a month defined to be "a month from the day your app went on sale," i.e., will I see a financial report closer to Nov. 13? Is it just that I won't receive one for October because my app wasn't for sale the entire month? Just trying to get a sense of when I can expect to receive a report and then payment.
Thanks!Report for October should be available next week or so. The payment comes up to 45 days after that.

Hyperion smart cut link of Financial report not opening as pdf in tasklist 11
Hi ,
I am using Smartcut Link to open FR from tasklist.
Reports are opening properly in HTML but didn't show any option for PDF.
While I am opening the same report from Explorer->Right click->Open as html. This will show option to save/open report as pdf.
I am working on 11.1.1.4.

Financial Reports - Schedule Batch
I have a report Book that has a User POV. In the Book, the reports are set to Book POV. There are multiple reports in the book, with 3 different datasources. I have created a batch with this report books. I am trying to schedule the batch using "MULITPLE" members for the POV so that the batch creates mutliple books - one for each of the cost centers in my Multiple Batch POV. The issue is that I cannot seem to define the Multiple POV list for all three datasources - only the last one seems to count, the rest resort back to the User POV? Does this only work if the report has onl a single Datasource or is there something special that has to be done to override the User POV with the Batch POV for each of the three datasources?

Financial Reporting Scheduling: File Permissions not saved
I have created a batch using Workspace Batch Scheduler (Workspace 9.3.1.0.0.248, FR 9.3.1.0.0.0325) however when I assign permissions to the batched files none are actually given when the batch is run.
This is only an issue using Firefox (all versions), it works using IE.
Is this a known issue? I've tried assigning permissions to the folders for the Schedule users ID (who has Content Manager and Schedule Manager roles) but no luck. Any other ideas?As a work around, I have found I can push the reports/snapshots then change the permissions on the files. Subsequent pushes don't change these newly assigned permissions.

I would like to know if there is any way scheduling an FR report outside workspace. Please let me know the process of doing the same if any.

Financial Reporting - Scheduling a Batch to Output/Email an Excel File
We're using version 9 and have no good way to systematically schedule a batch report and have the output saved/emailed as an Excel file, only pdf. Is this functionality in version 11? Has anyone developed creative alternatives?
ThanksYou may be able to utilize Excel and SmartView VBA features to achieve the same goal as this. With enhanced security in the newer realeases of Excel automacally sending emails could be a bit tricky, but if you look around on the web you should be able to find something with this ability. I'm not sure that you could use an FR report, but a report utilizing HSGetValue or ad-hoc functionality should function.

Financial Reporting 9.1.3 - Modifying Email Body text of cmd line scheduled
I would like to add text to the body of the command line scheduled email that is sent out using Financial Reporting.
Ideally I would like to suppress the text that is automatically added to the body of the email by Financial Reporting as well.
I have modified the subject line by modifying the XML files.
I tried adding text to the body tag, but that does not seem to be working. (no matter what I put into the body tag it does not show up).

Have you configured the SMTP server settings in the various config files for the new version that you are using? Your log seems to suggest that it is still set to 'mail' which I think is the default.
I think the minimum you need to do is Essbase, Financial Reporting and Workspace, files as detailed below (paths may vary depending upon platform, windows & tomcat provided below even though it sounds like you've done this before).
Essbase: C:\Hyperion\AnalyticAdministrationServices\server\ OlapAdmin.properties
Financial Reporting: C:\Hyperion\BIPlus\lib\ fr_global.properties
Workspace: log in and select Navigate > Administer > Notifications
You may also need to restart the related services.

Financial Reporting services distributed.
Hello All,
I see that the five services of Financial Reporting is distributed on different servers.I mean three of the services on one server and rest two services are replicated on 2 different servers.
I want to know what is the need of keeping services on different servers...

There are 5 services for Financial Reporting as shown below and I hope you may see the following three Financial Reporting Services out of 5 on one Server:
If the version is 11.1.1.3 or lower, you would be the services as follows:
1. Hyperion Financial Reporting - Java RMI Registry
2. Hyperion Financial Reporting - Report Server
3. Hyperion Financial Reporting - Scheduler Server
The rest two would be as follows:
4. Hyperion Financial Reporting - Print Server
5. Hyperion Financial Reporting - Web Application.
Please correct me, if I'm wrong. I suggest you to update the Services info that you see on your two server, based on which I can clarify you and describe you the reason behind.

Unable to connect in Financial Reporting Studio
Hi,
I am trying to connect to Essbase from FR with the following database connection properties and am getting errors as follows.
Database connection Name - abcd (some name)
Type - Essbase
server - phani (this is the database server)
User ID - admin (this is the db user name)
password - password (this is the db password)
Application -
database - basic (this is the database name)
1) The first problem is when clicking on the icon next to Application text box, it displays the following error.
"Failed to connect to server"
I have also done the Stop_BIPlus.bat and Start_BIPlus.bat but still i am getting the same error. Can anyone of you kindly help me what should i do.Hi,
If you haven't checked it might be worth checking that all of the necessary services are running, and there are a few! I have also experienced issues if services are not started in the correct order.
For Hyperion Financial Reporting (Studio or Workspace) the following order works for us:
1. BI+ Core Services
2. Workspace
3. Financial Reporting Java RMI
4. Financial Reporting Print Server
5. Financial Reporting Report Server
6. Financial Reporting Scheduler Server
7. Financial Reporting Web Server
We have always tended to manage services from the control panel (Windows OS) so I am afraid that I'm not sure how the above relates to your .bat options.

Financial reporting - Perfect for producing standardised monthly reporting such as P&L, balance sheets etc. Highly formatted, print well in PDF format.
Web Analysis - Highly graphical, web based analysis tool more suited to dashboards, pinboards etc with slice and dice capability.
Workspace - Common environment where reporting content in deployed. Users can access web anlysis, fin reports, Interactive reports plus other content through the workspace. It was the start of the 'log on to one place for all reporting' concept instead og logging on to multiple products.

How to email the Financial Reports to selected set of users - Hyperion

I was wondering if there is a way to email a financial report (in Hyperion Financial Reporting Studio) to selected set of users based on the selection of Entity from the POV. If yes can it be automized in a way that everytime the report is run for a particular entity, it will email the report to the selected set of users?.

I am not super technical and I am not the developer of this script, but it basically grabs the log file (I believe it is either FRReportSvr or FRUserLogin) loads it into Oracle and parse it. Then we report the outcome on Oracle Application Express (APEX). It basically shows how many people ran which report, when, how many times, etc. We also do ranking of report usage based on periods, so you can track which reports are being used, which report usage has been declining over time, how the newly developed reports have been doing, etc. It is pretty useful.
Does it sound like something you would develop?
