Hyperion SQR Production Reporting and EBS 11i

Hi all,
Is there a way to purchase only "Hyperion SQR Production Reporting", working with Oracle EBusiness Suite (11i) ?
The scope is to migrate Oracle Applications 11.0.3 to 11.5.10.2 (unix platform) including a lot of sqr specific programs (batchs and reports).
-> Instead rebuild them on pl/sql or XML Publisher, we plan to do this by upgrading sqr (actually v4.3.2 running on Oracle 8.0.5).

thank you. I could not answer on friday, was not at office.
I tried according to the instructions of oracle ( http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/pr_studio/frameset.htm?data_connection.html ). See comments:
To create an Essbase data source connection:
1. OK
Select Connection on the main SQR Production Reporting Studio screen.
The Create Data Connection wizard is displayed.
2. OK
On the first page, enter a name to identify the data connection.
For example, you could enter Essbase to identify a connection to an Essbase data source.
3. OK
On the second page, select DDO to identify the data source provider.
4. NOT OK. The messages shown: "Unable to start the JVM. Ensure that the JRE section of the SQR.INI file contains the correct directory. (4)"
"Unable to erad DDo Registry.Properties file. Check location and accessibility, an that the sqr.ini DDO pathvariable settings are correct (DDO.3)."
On the third page, select an Essbase data source.
The wizard displays the available registries and data sources.
Seems some setting problems. We would check that. Any suggestions to that error??

Hyperion SQR production reporting 11.1.2 performance after migration from Peoplesoft

Hi,
I am provided with sqr report includes multiple select statements but with simple small joins and also have reference to standard sqc files and other sqc.
I installed SQR on AIX and database as oracle 10g.But now hyperion does not provide any sqc file.
So manually created all sqc.But the report is taking more than 4 hours to produce the output file.Previously users get it in 10 minutes as informed.
Kindly help and suggest how to improve the time,

SQR - Production reporting deployment in standalone mode

Hi,
I am an essabse developer/admin , and never worked with SQR - production reporting. Now here is an urgent need of an upgrade from version 8 to 9 or 11 for this tool. When i read the oracle documentation they say, we need workspace and HSS. But my question is can we deploy sqr - production reporting in standalone mode like how we do for essbase.
Also if any body has installed , any answer can be helpful thanks!!

you can install the PR-client/ PR-studio only. All pure SQR/ PR functionality is in it. But off course you can not mke use of the job and publish functionality.
There is also commandline utilty to overcome most of the missing parts.

SQR Production Reporting Error

Hi All,
We recently did an upgrade from 9.3.3 to 11.1.2.3 and when I try running a SQR rpoduction report I get the error "Internal error: system 9 platform error: C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\foundation1\ReportingAnalysis\data\JF1\tmp\sqr.exec.bat (access is denied). I see the file sqr.exec.bat is created in teh job factory only when we run the job so not sure how to control it...
Did anyone face the same issue.

Can you check JRE version being used for SQR in 9.3.1 version and 11.1.2.2 version?
Note: JRE version should match.
Just for information, the 32-bit version of SQR uses the sqr.ini file and the 64-bit version uses the sqr64.ini .
Please check value of the Environment Variable EPM_Oracle_Home. If this is not set to the proper value than SQR cannot find the SQR, which contains the Hyperion_Home variable.
Please check this location for the sqr.ini and ensure that it contains valid entries.
sqr.ini is located in %EPM_Oracle_Home%/products/biplus/common/SQR/lib directory.

how can we use dicoverer reports with 11i
how to register them,run them from 11i.
and where are these reports stored.like if i created a open periods report that shows all the open periods in AR,AP modules,where do i need to place these reports to run from applications 11i.
i never used discoverer,i am just asking these questions assuming discoverer reports work similar to that of reports 6i

Discoverer can be called from Oracle Apps or more usually from it's own XML version (Plus) or from it's own HTML version (Viewer).
Discoverer reports (workbooks) are created with a client / server version (desktop) or the XML version (Plus).
Once a workbook has been written it is possible to call it directly from Apps, but again, it's more usual to firing up Discoverer directly and going from there.

Hi,
Is there a report in OAM that shows the activity for the last 24-hr? Say what process has encountered problem, or what process took so much resources CPU/IO/MEMORY, or how many users has login within this period, or anything
important that transpired within this period?
Or something that extact data for V$SQLAREA? or another V$ tables that stores historal activities.

Hi,
You can monitor the activities/sessions from (OAM > Site Map > Monitoring > Current Activity).
When you click on (Logs > Advanced Search) you can search by date/time.

Hyperion SQR - Create Word document reports

We are using Hyperion SQR Production Reporting v8.3. Does this have the ability to create a Microsoft Word document as a report?
If not, does a more recent version have support for creating Word document as a report?

SQR does not support creating word document. However you could check this link which might help as a workaround :

What could be the query to get Spend Amount for a Product name in EBS?

Hi Experts,
I need a help to write a query in EBS to get Spend Amount for any given Product Name and Top Level Category (Segment1).
It can be two different query or a single one. Please reply if anyone knows how to do it. I need it for testing purpose.

If you don't want to use the PO_LINES_ALL, is there any other sourced you are planning to use for spend.

and do not need the po_lines_all table. I'm doing a data validation between OBIEE reports and EBS test data. In report i'm keeping only Product Name and Spend Amount to make it simple. Now I need to check the values are same in report and EBS. Thats the criteria.

Opportunity Products report - Unspecified rows

Hi All,
I tried to create a report that shows all product lines per opportunity. However the report allways shows an unspecified at the Product Name Columns, even if there are products specified in the opportunity it adds an extra row with 'unspecified'. I used an CASE statement to make the row blank:
CASE WHEN Product."Product Name"='Unspecified' THEN NULL ELSE Product."Product Name" END
But, i can't make the row disappear completely. Is the only way to get this richt to make an union (one report with filter on Product Name <> 'Unspecified' and the second with Product Name = 'Unspecified') or are there easier ways?

i've had the same problem with all of the Opty-Product reporting and I just add a filter Product Name not equal to unspecified and it removes them all. I asked Customer Care about it and got this back:
Why does an Opportunity-Product integration create 2 products?
I recieved confirmation from PM that these records are expected and are automatically created when using recurring revenue. If you do not use the recurring revenue fields suchs as #number of periods and frequency, these records will not be created and the results of the export will be as you expected.

Hi Anil,
You can create Conditions to display Ton N ro Ton N % report in query designer.
But not sure how to get Ton 10 to 20 % .
In query designer go to conditions (in standard toolbar)->Create Conditions
You can select operators like Ton n, Bottom N, Ton %, Bottom % etc. Take whatever suitable for you and provide Value for N in front of that.

Invalid database schema for product hyperion reporting and analysis

I tried to re-configure the BI core service to a new database
But I get the message "invalid database schema for product hyperion reporting and analysis"
The database is a restore of a production backup on a different MSSQL2005 server.
I can not believe its really a sql schema matter.
Does anyone know whats wrong?

You cannot restore a BI+ database from backup...It is somewehere in the doc. There a re lots of references to the old server and config in the BI+ tables and you d need to edit/remove some files on the file server too. There is a doc available to do that but its far from simple.
Best way is to export the content of your repository, configure a new DB and then reimport the content.
If you re really stuck, drop me an email and ill send you that doc. I think ive still got it.
