Hyperion Workspace 9.3.1 compatiblity with IE8

Good Morning,
We are having difficulting with the Workspace tabs when opening multiple reports within an IE 8 browser. The Workspace navigation appears unable to use it's version of tabs in the window with this version of Internet Explorer. We do not have a problem with IE 7.
Is there a setting or a patch that we need to apply so that full functionality can be restored?

Hi there
When a SWF plays in IE, it uses the Flash Player ActiveX control. I'm not 100% sure that different versions of IE would share the install. So if you have one version of IE on your machine, perhaps it either doesn't even have the control added in or it's the wrong version.
One thing I would check in the browsers where the content seems to be missing is to right-click the blank area and see if you coax a Flash pop similar to below:
Then note the version number.
You may find that all that you (or others) need to do is ensure you have at least a specific version of the player/add-in installed.

Rotated transparent images Muse CC 2014 not compatible with IE8.... they all appear with a black box behind them.

IE 8 is supposed to be supported by muse CC 2014 but its not in the case of rotated transparent images.. Did not have this problem in the previous version of Muse. The code did not have progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Matrix... now it does...
Had to add ie8 specific css and code to the page and use a composite image instead of the individual images to get a page with no black boxes...

I see this is still an issue even after the latest update.... Will this problem be addressed? Right now I have to manually update the html code for each page after export. This is a site that I update regularly so every time a change is made I have to fix each page so it can be viewed without the black boxes in ie8.

Yes As John suggested 11 X support only Office 2002 (XP), 2003, 2007, Its always better to use only supported Ver of Office/

login to shared services
go to user directories
select user
right click on user and click om provision
give the appropriate provision to the user

Webi reports compatibility with IE8

Hi All,
BO 5.1 reports are published as webi reports on web server.Users would view/edit the reports from the webpage. Currently IE6 is installed on web server and it will be upgarding to IE8 on it.
My question is - Is BO 5.1 version webi reports compatible with IE8 or not ?
If yes,then can you please tell me what browser based components that has to be tested for BO and the test plan(If any).

Email distribution options with the Hyperion Workspace Scheduler

Hello everybody,
We have scheduled several Hyperion Workspace Batches that use an email-bursting list to email out pdf reports to our user community. All of this works fine but the problem is that we have no detailed trace of the sending of report / destinee combination.
Also the emails are individualised, so even if serveral users receive the same report, we cannot do a single check with a user to see if all the other destinees are also in the To-section of the email.
The questions we have are the following:
* can we change the sending of the email in scheduler in such a way that all destinees are on the same email (in the TO section e.g.)? We would add ourselves on each email, so we receive a copy of all outgoing smtp email traffic.
* if not, can we alter the way messages are logged, so we can see the destinee and the report in the email?
* is there a way to have the outgoing emails in the Sent of our Exchange system?

I solved this issue...It was with Hyperion Services those were stop responding some how.....but I stopped each service and restarted then those started working again...

Periodically Hyperion Workspace Will Hang with msg "Authenticating User.."

Hi,
Periodically Hyperion Workspace Will Hang with the Message "Authenticating User.." after Supplying the Username and Password for the Login. But FDM, Smartview are working fine. The problem is only with workspace.
No errors has been recorded in HSvevent log and workspace logs.
We are using Weblogic application server and the version is 11.1.1.3.
It is working fine once we restart the Hyperion workspace- Agent service.
Please advice the possible root causes for this, so that we can put a permanent fix for this issue.

I've encountered this issue in my slow network environment, and it was rectified after we've done the following:
Enable IE ActiveX controls:
1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options
3. On the Security tab, click the Custom level button
4. Scroll down the Security Settings list until you see ActiveX controls and plug-ins
5. Enable Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls
6. Scroll down to Download signed ActiveX controls and click Enable or Prompt
7. Scroll down to Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins and click Enable or Prompt
8. Scroll down to Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting and click Enable or Prompt
9. Click OK, and then click OK again
Add 3 DWord items to the registry under
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
ReceiveTimeout 900000
KeepAliveTimeout 900000
ServerInfoTimeout 900000
These values are in milliseconds. So, 900000 is 15 minutes
Access URL using the pop-up: http://server:19000/workspace, not the http://server:19000/workspace/index.jsp <-- not sure what's the differences on how this works, but apparently it worked well in my slow network environment.
Increase the workspace server timeout settings.
Use supported browsers in the Oracle certification matrix.

Yes it is supported. Check the EPM System Basic Platform tab under supported platforms matrices: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/oracle-hyperion-epm-system-certific-2-128342.xls

do you have some old external authorization entries in your css.xml? (they occuur if you delete external user directopries from the sort order (see documentation of HSS). In our case we had arudimantary entry there. We deleted it (via HSS UI) en till now its running fine. The error did not occur after the change. (you have to re start HSS service after the change)

Also: you mention 100 users? But how many groups are you imortinh/caching?

Oracle 9.2.0.8 compatiblity with Planning 9.3.1.1.5

Is oracle 9.2.0.8 database version compatible with Hyperion products 9.3.1.x
we have essbase 9.3.1.3,shared services 9.3.1,planning 93115 . and right now we use oracle 9.2.0.6 and are going to migrate to 9.2.0.8

This being said it doesn't specifically mention 9.2.0.6 or 9.2.0.8 being supported. I'd say your technically on a non-supported platform anyways I doubt it will change how it interacts on a minor "dot" release.
Someone may be on this version although a lot of people will be on 10g and 11g.

Interactive Reporting is not opening in Hyperion workspace

Hi,
I have installed Hyperion Foundation Services 11.1.1.1.0 and IR 11.1.1.1.0
I am trying to access IR through Workspace
I could see the procedure like File-> New-> Document_> interactive reporting document.
Then i have selected a .oce file to make connection. but i am not able to progress to the next window.
after selecting .oce file a new pop up is getting populated.Then it is closed automatically in a fraction of second...
I dont know what is the problem.

I have tried the same with Mozilla Browser.
Here I am ablwe to open a page saying
Checking Hyperion Interactive Reporting Web Client status......
then another one new win dow is getting opend.
In that window It was asking for the
"Press the 'Begin' button to start the installation."
asking for a confirmation.
I hav pressed Begin then an error comes

OBI 11g Enterprise Manager (EM Website) does not work with IE8 (v8.0.6)

I am unable to login to the 11g EM website on Windows x64 2003 server. I get the below error:

How to Schedule Hyperion IR 9.3.1 reports on Hyperion Workspace

I am new to this Hyperion Workspace.
Can anyone please guide me how to schedule a report on workspace?
What are the things need to be considered before uploading the report on workspace or during the process?
Can I schedule a report which will save the report with result after the job is complete?

Hi Ujjawal,
To run or schedule the reports in the workspace first we need to have a connection file which is the OCE. See the below steps.
--Launch IR studio and create a OCE file which connects to the source database and save the file (By default it will be .bqy file)
In the Hyperion server Goto StartPrograms--Hyperion--Interactive Rporting--Utilities and Administration and Launch service configurator.
--Now click on 3rd icon which is the Local service configurator and login with an admin account (Default: admin, Password: password).
--Select DAS_SERVERNAME and goto properties there will be a tab for Datasource selct it and add a new datasource.
--restart your Hyperion Core and IR and workspace services.
--Launch workspace
Navigate to the folder in which to place the file.
2 Select File > Import > File.
The first Import dialog box opens.
3 Click Browse, navigate to the folder where the desired Interactive Reporting connection file is located, select
the file and click Open.
The name of the selected Interactive Reporting connection file populates the File field on the
Import dialog box.
4 Click Next.
The second Import dialog box opens.
Click Finish
Now import a BQY as a File as Job and select and browse the file and next give your OCE connections and go next and select the time would like to run the job by selecting the Custom Event.
If you want to schedule a job, you can right click on the file and then add a schedule.
