Hyperion Workspace Customized message

Hi Gurus,
I have this query about if we can have some customized messages in Planning/workspace.
Twice each day, we have a SPREAD job that runs during which time we would not like users to log in to workspace. We have a system where users get notification when the job takes place. So the users are aware of it. However, sometimes some users forget about it and then try to log in and pull reports in workspace.
The job takes about 30 minutes to complete.
My question is:
Is there any feature or any customization that we can do so that during that time, when users try to log in to planning they get a message in the home screen which would make them aware that the job has not completed yet.
Also,
when users try to pull reports during this time, they get the "report.reportviewer" message because the Reporting services goes down during the job. Is there any way we can change the message during that time so that they can get message like "job not done" etc.

You can use broadcasting and together with that you can remove the workspace permissions till the job is done.
There is a thread in Reporting forum. Automacially remove permissions from a report folder in Workspace

Hi,
Periodically Hyperion Workspace Will Hang with the Message "Authenticating User.." after Supplying the Username and Password for the Login. But FDM, Smartview are working fine. The problem is only with workspace.
No errors has been recorded in HSvevent log and workspace logs.
We are using Weblogic application server and the version is 11.1.1.3.
It is working fine once we restart the Hyperion workspace- Agent service.
Please advice the possible root causes for this, so that we can put a permanent fix for this issue.

I've encountered this issue in my slow network environment, and it was rectified after we've done the following:
Enable IE ActiveX controls:
1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options
3. On the Security tab, click the Custom level button
4. Scroll down the Security Settings list until you see ActiveX controls and plug-ins
5. Enable Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls
6. Scroll down to Download signed ActiveX controls and click Enable or Prompt
7. Scroll down to Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins and click Enable or Prompt
8. Scroll down to Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting and click Enable or Prompt
9. Click OK, and then click OK again
Add 3 DWord items to the registry under
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
ReceiveTimeout 900000
KeepAliveTimeout 900000
ServerInfoTimeout 900000
These values are in milliseconds. So, 900000 is 15 minutes
Access URL using the pop-up: http://server:19000/workspace, not the http://server:19000/workspace/index.jsp <-- not sure what's the differences on how this works, but apparently it worked well in my slow network environment.
Increase the workspace server timeout settings.
Use supported browsers in the Oracle certification matrix.

How to Schedule Hyperion IR 9.3.1 reports on Hyperion Workspace

Hi All,
I am new to this Hyperion Workspace.
Can anyone please guide me how to schedule a report on workspace?
What are the things need to be considered before uploading the report on workspace or during the process?
Can I schedule a report which will save the report with result after the job is complete?

Hi Ujjawal,
To run or schedule the reports in the workspace first we need to have a connection file which is the OCE. See the below steps.
--Launch IR studio and create a OCE file which connects to the source database and save the file (By default it will be .bqy file)
In the Hyperion server Goto StartPrograms--Hyperion--Interactive Rporting--Utilities and Administration and Launch service configurator.
--Now click on 3rd icon which is the Local service configurator and login with an admin account (Default: admin, Password: password).
--Select DAS_SERVERNAME and goto properties there will be a tab for Datasource selct it and add a new datasource.
--restart your Hyperion Core and IR and workspace services.
--Launch workspace
Navigate to the folder in which to place the file.
2 Select File > Import > File.
The first Import dialog box opens.
3 Click Browse, navigate to the folder where the desired Interactive Reporting connection file is located, select
the file and click Open.
The name of the selected Interactive Reporting connection file populates the File field on the
Import dialog box.
4 Click Next.
The second Import dialog box opens.
Click Finish
Now import a BQY as a File as Job and select and browse the file and next give your OCE connections and go next and select the time would like to run the job by selecting the Custom Event.
If you want to schedule a job, you can right click on the file and then add a schedule.

can plz help to configure the hyperion workspace.i'm tried so many times but i i'm able to login in work space..i'm getting this errotr:plz suppliy valid username and password.
after workspace configuration i got error message i.e sso :could not login to work space
and slaso i'm having one dought : is it reqire to configur the databse connection for workspace.

Hyperion workspace log-in issue for only one (in Shared Services) active di

Hi All,
This is Raj, working as Hyp support analyst.
I have big issue in Hyperion production environment. (version No. 9.3.1)
Issue is, we had issues with TWO active directories of Hyperion Shared Servces which ad1 and ad2. We found that the TWO respective active directories (ad1 and ad2) of their hosts are not working.
After that we changed those two active directories hosts with new host names respectively. We have implemented these changes in DEV first and those TWO active directories user able to access Hyperion workspace (HFM users) which are under ad1 active directory. offcourse we have all the servers as well.
But ad2 users are NOT able log-in to the Production workspace but they are able to log-in with DEV workspace.
Not really sure what happened... (Please note that, No access is changed for any of the users)... if it is LDAP issue...how it to resolve...
Can some one please help oout in this...

Hi,
Those error messages usually happen when Shared Services has just started up and before the other services have started, it sends out a ping to see if it gets a response from the other application servers, the pings will fail until the other services have started, once they have started them messages should disappear.
I would check that if any changes have happened to your MSAD or the account that shared services uses.

Could not start the hyperion workspace-web application Error 1067

Hi,
I have installed hyperion from scratch in a distributed environment...everything was working fine.......i.e. shared services, workspace, essbase, sql server, and hfm. I was able to logon and navigate different options in the hyperion products...but essbase stopped working when I re-started all four servers ....?
(1) When I restarted all four servers and stopped and restarted all hyperion services as per giving sequence then everything works fine but essbase EAS console and workspace web console...i was getting error message " could not connect to administration server" whenever i try to connect EAS console to essbase then I went to services there I saw workspace agent and workspace web application service is down.
(2) as soon as I started those both services then my shared services automatically stopped but I was able to logon in Essbase console and workspace console but my shared services are down...
(3) as soon as I start shared service they started but my workspace agent and workspace web application automatically stopped...and when I try to start again workspace web application then I get this error "[ Could not start the hyperion workspace-web application services on local computer. Error 1067: the process terminated unexpectedly]"
I have been searching online and googling but have a hard luck to get some best solution for this...can some one help me or guide me to walk through with this issue...

I solved this issue...It was with Hyperion Services those were stop responding some how.....but I stopped each service and restarted then those started working again...

Email distribution options with the Hyperion Workspace Scheduler

We have scheduled several Hyperion Workspace Batches that use an email-bursting list to email out pdf reports to our user community. All of this works fine but the problem is that we have no detailed trace of the sending of report / destinee combination.
Also the emails are individualised, so even if serveral users receive the same report, we cannot do a single check with a user to see if all the other destinees are also in the To-section of the email.
The questions we have are the following:
* can we change the sending of the email in scheduler in such a way that all destinees are on the same email (in the TO section e.g.)? We would add ourselves on each email, so we receive a copy of all outgoing smtp email traffic.
* if not, can we alter the way messages are logged, so we can see the destinee and the report in the email?
* is there a way to have the outgoing emails in the Sent of our Exchange system?

I solved this issue...It was with Hyperion Services those were stop responding some how.....but I stopped each service and restarted then those started working again...

FDM/ODI/ERPI, but note it is feasible to load data using ERPi without FDM (but still need ODI installed) in which case it should drill back via the ERPi landing stage.
Before going any further i think you need to decide on your data flows and whether you use ERPi or ERPi / FDM to load data, and perhaps search the internet and read some documentation to understand the system, or, get some consultancy.

Custom message required on log on pop-up in SAP CRM WEB UI

We required custom message to the log- on popup, right now the message is coming after we give the user ID and password "starting SAP CRM" instead of that
user required welcome message.., how can achieve this ?

Custom message is not getting displayed after raising do_not_save

Hi all,
In Order_save BADI, based some conditions, we were throwing custom messages.
FYI., code used,
CV_OWN_MESSAGE = 'X'.
MESSAGE 'xxxxxxxxxxxxxx' TYPE 'W' Raising do_not_save.
After Solman upgrade from 7.0 to 7.1, system is not displaying custom message and
system throwing message like "The document could not be saved" only after execution of above message statement.
How can I overwrite this system message.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Adding custom message on the login page

I have done the following to try and get a custom message to display on the oracle login page:
1:
In the System Administrator Responsibility, went into the System Profile Options and searched for "Local Login Mask" The default value was 32, I set it to 96. This was done because 64 is the number to display a "Corporate Policy Message" on the login page (32+64 = 96).
2:
Switched over to the Application Developer responsibility, and went to Application->Messages. Here I did a search for "FND_SSO_SARBANES_OXLEY_TEXT". A result came back with current message text: "Corporate Policy Message". I changed this to a test message and hit save.

Still in Application Developer responsibility, I went to Other->Requests->Run and chose "Generate Messages", for parameters I chose:
Language: US
Application: Application Object Library
Mode: DB_TO_RUNTIME
while leaving the others blank. I submitted this request and it completed normal.

I logged out of applications, closed my browser and cleared my cache. I went to login into the apps and at the login page... it does display "Corporate Policy Message" but it never updated it to my custom one.
Question: Do I need to restart the HTTP server or something to see the updated results? I am confused why it will display "Corporate Policy Message" but the value for FND_SSO_SARBANES_OXLEY_TEXT is clearly changed. Even when you go back into it and look.
The Generate Messages conc prog is a spawned process so I cant find out what its doing.
Any help would be loved!

Custom message on list view in SharePoint 2013

I have created a list with multiple view and i set the target audience for each view.I set the views for each dept.So when a person not belongs to the corresponding group click on the other view,he will get a custom message like " you are not authorized
member for this view".

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to display custom error message when a user who does not belong to the corresponding group clicks the view.
Per my knowledge, the view will not be available if the target audience is set for the view and the user does not have permission to access the view.
If the target audience is set based on the groups, then the user who does not belong to the group will not have the permission to see the view on the view menu, and he will not be able to click the view.

Have you ever successfully scheduled a batch? Make sure the scheduled batch name does not contain an ampersand "&" symbol or an apostrophe/single tick symbol. Those cause batches to error out for us.

I have recently installed Hyperion 11.1.2.2(Foundation Services and Interactive Reporting) in our environment.
The installation and configuration are successful. Also when I ran a sample BQY it works fine.
If I try to run the sample programs on the Hyperion server in their actual location, they work fine.
I am having problem setting up the SDK remotely and run the sample program.
I am getting the following error when trying to run the sample Login.java provided in /EPMSystem11R1/products/biplus/SDK/samples/java/
Unable to setup SDK for Hyperion 11.1.2.2 remotely
