Hyperion Workspace issue - Scrollbar Missing on Workspace 11.1.2.0.00

Hi EPM Experts,
I am having problems with the Workspaces scrollbars. They are vanishing without no reason.
Only temporary resolution is to restart the services, but it is recurring issue.
Any hints to FIX this issue will be highly appreciated.

Can you see the calculation manager service in services.msc, have you checked the logs under Oracle\Middleware\User_Projects\epmSystem1\dignostics\logs and\services?
I should have tried redeploying CalcManager and checked the configuration logs.

Hyperion Workspace Financial Reporting Export to Excel "Query-Ready" option is Missing in the dropdown when you go to File>Export>Excel
Only the "Fully Formatted" option is available.
From what I recall this option for a "query-ready" export should be available from the HTML preview?
Is there something in configuration that needs to be enabled or something that needs to be checked on to get this option?
We are running 11.1.1.3
The Query-Ready option is available when exporting forms in Planning.
When opening Financial Reports in Smartview the option for "Query-Ready" is available.
For some reason this is not showing up in workspace, does it not exist in 11.1.1.3? Is this a bug?

The option to export the financial report output in "Query-Ready" format is actually at the bottom right hand corner of the report page (look at the report footer) instead of File>Export>Excel.

Hyperion workspace log-in issue for only one (in Shared Services) active di

Hi All,
This is Raj, working as Hyp support analyst.
I have big issue in Hyperion production environment. (version No. 9.3.1)
Issue is, we had issues with TWO active directories of Hyperion Shared Servces which ad1 and ad2. We found that the TWO respective active directories (ad1 and ad2) of their hosts are not working.
After that we changed those two active directories hosts with new host names respectively. We have implemented these changes in DEV first and those TWO active directories user able to access Hyperion workspace (HFM users) which are under ad1 active directory. offcourse we have all the servers as well.
But ad2 users are NOT able log-in to the Production workspace but they are able to log-in with DEV workspace.
Not really sure what happened... (Please note that, No access is changed for any of the users)... if it is LDAP issue...how it to resolve...
Can some one please help oout in this...

Hi,
Those error messages usually happen when Shared Services has just started up and before the other services have started, it sends out a ping to see if it gets a response from the other application servers, the pings will fail until the other services have started, once they have started them messages should disappear.
I would check that if any changes have happened to your MSAD or the account that shared services uses.

We are currently facing a issue with server frequently going down.
could you please let us know what are the reasons that the hyperion sever goes down.
And also how can i look in to the log file,when the hyperion server goes down.

Yes,its a specific service.
if the hyperion server goes down we usually do stop and start services by running some shell script, but we still dont what could be the reason ,why the hyperion server goes down.
How could i see the log when the server goes down.

Header Missing in Hyperion Workspace

Hello,
I am having a problem with the header of my report in Hyperion Workspace. When I do a preview is designer the header appears with no problems, however, when I run the report in Workspace the header does not appear. Any suggestions?

Hi,
Maybe check the position of the objects/grids on the report to make sure one isn't positioned over another or that one object is set to Top and Left (therefore having precedence over the other objects).
Maybe also check to see that you don't have extra returns in the header code as that can sometimes push the title to be hidden.

Issue in Hyperion workspace tool menu

Dear all,
I'm using Hyperion workspace version: 11.1.2.1.0.83. I found a problem in the tools menu. The problem is " $ symbol in the tool menu" instead of actual menu names.
The following steps I followed before I found the $ symbol in the tools menu.
1) I login to workspace.
2) Clicked on Explore to view the reports.
3) Selecting the Tools menu.
Actual tool menu is having the following menus
Change Password
Change related Contents Links...
Change Database Connections...
Database Connection Manger...
Manage Key Figures....
Now the Tools menu is showing as follows.

Hello,
You should check at least for the following services. As Cameron suggested you can stop these services and then start them in the following order (always waiting at least a couple of seconds after the service is up and running..then continue with the next one):

can plz help to configure the hyperion workspace.i'm tried so many times but i i'm able to login in work space..i'm getting this errotr:plz suppliy valid username and password.

Not able to run any IR jobs in hyperion workspace 11.1.2.2

Hi Everyone,
We are not able to any IR Jobs in hyperion workspace(11.1.2.2)
It's throwing error saying:
"Unable to perform request
A general error was encountered contacting the server.
Recommended Action: Contact your corporate technical support."
I have checked the services(DAS,BI and IR job ) and raframework too.Everything is working fine.
Can Someone please help me in resolving it.

Could not start the hyperion workspace-web application Error 1067

Hi,
I have installed hyperion from scratch in a distributed environment...everything was working fine.......i.e. shared services, workspace, essbase, sql server, and hfm. I was able to logon and navigate different options in the hyperion products...but essbase stopped working when I re-started all four servers ....?
(1) When I restarted all four servers and stopped and restarted all hyperion services as per giving sequence then everything works fine but essbase EAS console and workspace web console...i was getting error message " could not connect to administration server" whenever i try to connect EAS console to essbase then I went to services there I saw workspace agent and workspace web application service is down.
(2) as soon as I started those both services then my shared services automatically stopped but I was able to logon in Essbase console and workspace console but my shared services are down...
(3) as soon as I start shared service they started but my workspace agent and workspace web application automatically stopped...and when I try to start again workspace web application then I get this error "[ Could not start the hyperion workspace-web application services on local computer. Error 1067: the process terminated unexpectedly]"
I have been searching online and googling but have a hard luck to get some best solution for this...can some one help me or guide me to walk through with this issue...

I solved this issue...It was with Hyperion Services those were stop responding some how.....but I stopped each service and restarted then those started working again...

Email distribution options with the Hyperion Workspace Scheduler

We have scheduled several Hyperion Workspace Batches that use an email-bursting list to email out pdf reports to our user community. All of this works fine but the problem is that we have no detailed trace of the sending of report / destinee combination.
Also the emails are individualised, so even if serveral users receive the same report, we cannot do a single check with a user to see if all the other destinees are also in the To-section of the email.
The questions we have are the following:
* can we change the sending of the email in scheduler in such a way that all destinees are on the same email (in the TO section e.g.)? We would add ourselves on each email, so we receive a copy of all outgoing smtp email traffic.
* if not, can we alter the way messages are logged, so we can see the destinee and the report in the email?
* is there a way to have the outgoing emails in the Sent of our Exchange system?

I solved this issue...It was with Hyperion Services those were stop responding some how.....but I stopped each service and restarted then those started working again...

Hyperion Workspace...

Hello Experts,
Whenever I run job in Hyperion workspace, it creates 3 outputs.
First is bqlog_<filename>,
second the simple output of the bqy file
third the web client version of the bqy file.
I want to hide the bqlog_<filename> from every user.
And even an user with Viewer and explorer provision is able to see the web client version output..well they are not able to open it but still they could it there on the workspace output folder.. so I even want to hide this outputs..
So please experts help me to solve the issue.

But need more help.
We are currently on Hyperion 9.2 but at the same time i m getting another server ready with Hyperion System 9.3.1.
Now in the older system we have folders in workspace and in the same folder i m importing the .bqy as jobs and as well as getting the output in the same folder. But in the output folder the users( according to their provision ) cant see the unwanted things. Like i said before. So, I just want to replicate the whole thing to the new system.
So...
Lets say for example..
User1 who is provisioned as Viewer and explorer , logs in workspace.
He see the folder Folder1 in workspace..
Now I as an administrator , have imported a akp.bqy file as a job, scheduled it and everything else..got the output in the same folder i.e in the Folder1...
Now when the User1 open the output folder.. He could see 3 outputs
bqlog_akp.bqy
akp.bqy (simple version)
akp.bqy( Web client version)
As I mentioned before he is provisioned as a Viewer and Explorer.
He could see the content of bqlog_akp.bqy
He could see the content of akp.bqy (Simple version)
But when he tries to open web client version , it throws an error saying that he is not provisioned to see this file...
Thats is perfect ...he cant see the file ...as he is not provisioned..
And the issue is as an Administrator I dont want this user User1 to see the unwanted outputs.
So now may be you could help me with this problem...

Periodically Hyperion Workspace Will Hang with the Message "Authenticating User.." after Supplying the Username and Password for the Login. But FDM, Smartview are working fine. The problem is only with workspace.
No errors has been recorded in HSvevent log and workspace logs.
We are using Weblogic application server and the version is 11.1.1.3.
It is working fine once we restart the Hyperion workspace- Agent service.
Please advice the possible root causes for this, so that we can put a permanent fix for this issue.

I've encountered this issue in my slow network environment, and it was rectified after we've done the following:
Enable IE ActiveX controls:
1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options
3. On the Security tab, click the Custom level button
4. Scroll down the Security Settings list until you see ActiveX controls and plug-ins
5. Enable Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls
6. Scroll down to Download signed ActiveX controls and click Enable or Prompt
7. Scroll down to Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins and click Enable or Prompt
8. Scroll down to Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting and click Enable or Prompt
9. Click OK, and then click OK again
Add 3 DWord items to the registry under
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
ReceiveTimeout 900000
KeepAliveTimeout 900000
ServerInfoTimeout 900000
These values are in milliseconds. So, 900000 is 15 minutes
Access URL using the pop-up: http://server:19000/workspace, not the http://server:19000/workspace/index.jsp <-- not sure what's the differences on how this works, but apparently it worked well in my slow network environment.
Increase the workspace server timeout settings.
Use supported browsers in the Oracle certification matrix.

Have you ever successfully scheduled a batch? Make sure the scheduled batch name does not contain an ampersand "&" symbol or an apostrophe/single tick symbol. Those cause batches to error out for us.

I have recently installed Hyperion 11.1.2.2(Foundation Services and Interactive Reporting) in our environment.
The installation and configuration are successful. Also when I ran a sample BQY it works fine.
If I try to run the sample programs on the Hyperion server in their actual location, they work fine.
I am having problem setting up the SDK remotely and run the sample program.
I am getting the following error when trying to run the sample Login.java provided in /EPMSystem11R1/products/biplus/SDK/samples/java/
