Hyperion workspace login error

Hi,
The following error occurred when I try to login workspace.
''Could not find a Hyperion reporting and analysis server running on local host at port 6800.Please verify your server connect string and confirm that the server is up.''
Kindly check and let me know how to get rid of this error.
Thank you.

You could stop all the Hyperion Services.Kill any java.exe process if running by checking the task manager.Then restart the services again.
You could check the stdout_console.log to find if there are any errors.

    I can able to login to hyperion planning and shared services with admin's username and password. But I'm not able to login to Workspace with that username.

    There was a bug for a while in FDM, I'm not sure if it's been resolved in a recent patch, but FDM used to have an issue with the & character in a password.  Drove us nuts trying to figure out why it didn't work.  I have one user that connects (11.1.2.2) using MSAD and her username is 22 characters, they had the same username on 11.1.1.3 and it did not pose a problem there either.
    What version are you on for FDM?  I had always thought FDM did not support provisioning through groups, I guess I missed that this has been addressed in a more recent patch or version.

    I have recently installed Hyperion 11.1.2.2(Foundation Services and Interactive Reporting) in our environment.
    The installation and configuration are successful. Also when I ran a sample BQY it works fine.
    If I try to run the sample programs on the Hyperion server in their actual location, they work fine.
    I am having problem setting up the SDK remotely and run the sample program.
    I am getting the following error when trying to run the sample Login.java provided in /EPMSystem11R1/products/biplus/SDK/samples/java/
    Unable to setup SDK for Hyperion 11.1.2.2 remotely

    Getting null point exception while scheduling the batch in hyperion workspace. Iam new to the hyperion workspace and financial reporting. Please helpme.

    Have you ever successfully scheduled a batch? Make sure the scheduled batch name does not contain an ampersand "&" symbol or an apostrophe/single tick symbol. Those cause batches to error out for us.

  • Could not start the hyperion workspace-web application Error 1067

    Hi,
    I have installed hyperion from scratch in a distributed environment...everything was working fine.......i.e. shared services, workspace, essbase, sql server, and hfm. I was able to logon and navigate different options in the hyperion products...but essbase stopped working when I re-started all four servers ....?
    (1) When I restarted all four servers and stopped and restarted all hyperion services as per giving sequence then everything works fine but essbase EAS console and workspace web console...i was getting error message " could not connect to administration server" whenever i try to connect EAS console to essbase then I went to services there I saw workspace agent and workspace web application service is down.
    (2) as soon as I started those both services then my shared services automatically stopped but I was able to logon in Essbase console and workspace console but my shared services are down...
    (3) as soon as I start shared service they started but my workspace agent and workspace web application automatically stopped...and when I try to start again workspace web application then I get this error "[ Could not start the hyperion workspace-web application services on local computer. Error 1067: the process terminated unexpectedly]"
    I have been searching online and googling but have a hard luck to get some best solution for this...can some one help me or guide me to walk through with this issue...

    I solved this issue...It was with Hyperion Services those were stop responding some how.....but I stopped each service and restarted then those started working again...

  • How can we disable user to login Hyperion Workspace

    We understand we can set to admin mode for Hyperion Planning so that only administrator can login the system. Any other ways to disable users to login Hyperion Workspace? We are using Hyperion version 11.1.1.1

    Thanks John. We just want to disable user using FR report prepared in Reporting Studio and put under "Explore" of Workspace. We found that we can't do that once the user is login into Workspace. The only way we can do is to setup the security setting of each FR report based on the group setting.

  • How to Simulate Login to Hyperion Workspace?

    We have some cases which Hyperion Workspace URL is up and running but
    when user login to the site, it's simply hang. Sometimes, it's fixed after restarting
    Foundation Services. We want to put monitoring around this case.
    How can we simulate login to workspace using a script, e.g. Powershell or others.
    The objective, is to notify administrators as soon as it is detected that the
    workspace login is not behaving well.

    Check the JVM settings for RAF and increase it if its low. Yes as its windows you have check windows registry
    For Topaz:Mercury Topaz Monitor, a software product originally from Mercury Interactive, subsequently renamed Mercury Global Monitor, BAC, and finally BSM after the company was purchased by Hewlett-Packard.

    Actually Topaz is recording the action and generating the script concept. Where we can give at login action min and max time to response, else it will generate an alert and notify you.

  • Workspace login issue

    Hi All,
    Need your help.
    One User cannot login to workspace.Once he has entered the username and password the page is stuck at loading.
    History:
    There are 6 sites for the client. 4 sites are fully functioning and have no problem.
    Management had decided that the remaining 2 sites need to have access to Hyperion Applications.We have suggested the IT support team to give the same access to the ports as of the 4 sites to access Hyperion applications .
    Only two Users-one from each site. Provisioned the Users to the group and cost centers as mentioned by the client.
    1.One user from one site has no problem-can access all applications.
    2.Problem with the other site :*User can login to Hyperion planning applicaiton but cannot login to Workspace--no error msg displayed-stuck at loading the page.*
    Can you please help me in this regard.

    It sounds like a issue with FireFox and Workspace.

    When you log into Workspace 9.0 using the Firefox 3.6.x web browser in Windows, you are unable to enter text in the User ID or Password fields. The current workaround is to select another window (or empty area on the desktop), reselect the web browser to reset the focus, and then enter text in the User ID or Password fields.

  • Periodically Hyperion Workspace Will Hang with msg "Authenticating  User.."

    Hi,
    Periodically Hyperion Workspace Will Hang with the Message "Authenticating User.." after Supplying the Username and Password for the Login. But FDM, Smartview are working fine. The problem is only with workspace.
    No errors has been recorded in HSvevent log and workspace logs.
    We are using Weblogic application server and the version is 11.1.1.3.
    It is working fine once we restart the Hyperion workspace- Agent service.
    Please advice the possible root causes for this, so that we can put a permanent fix for this issue.

    I've encountered this issue in my slow network environment, and it was rectified after we've done the following:
    Enable IE ActiveX controls:
    1. Open Internet Explorer
    2. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options
    3. On the Security tab, click the Custom level button
    4. Scroll down the Security Settings list until you see ActiveX controls and plug-ins
    5. Enable Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls
    6. Scroll down to Download signed ActiveX controls and click Enable or Prompt
    7. Scroll down to Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins and click Enable or Prompt
    8. Scroll down to Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting and click Enable or Prompt
    9. Click OK, and then click OK again
    Add 3 DWord items to the registry under
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
    ReceiveTimeout 900000
    KeepAliveTimeout 900000
    ServerInfoTimeout 900000
    These values are in milliseconds. So, 900000 is 15 minutes
    Access URL using the pop-up: http://server:19000/workspace, not the http://server:19000/workspace/index.jsp <-- not sure what's the differences on how this works, but apparently it worked well in my slow network environment.
    Increase the workspace server timeout settings.
    Use supported browsers in the Oracle certification matrix.

  • Unable to reach Workspace Login Page

    Hi,
    First some background - I am an Apex developer / administrator. I do not have a DBA background. DBAs install the Apex software and I administer the webserver (although my experience with webservers is that which I've picked up using Apex) and develop applications.
    We are currently upgrading our DEV, QA and PROD APEX installations from 2.2.1 to 3.1.1 (specifically 3.1.1.00.09).
    We are using Oracle HTTP Server from the Oracle 10.1 companion disk.
    We completed this for our DEV and QA environments without a problem. We have not done this for our PROD environment yet.
    We also installed APEXLIB 1.7 in both DEV and QA. This was working successfully in DEV. We had not tried it yet in QA.
    Both 3.1.1 upgraded environments have been running successfully for about 10 days since the upgrade.
    However our QA environment (Oracle 10.2.0.3 running on HP-UX B.11.11 ) experienced a problem yesterday - we can no longer access any Apex applications including the Workspace login pages or application login pages.
    The error we get in the browser is:
    Expecting p_company or wwv_flow_company cookie to contain security group id of application owner.
    Error ERR-7620 Could not determine workspace for application ().
    We experienced a problem with our QA environment before (prior to upgrade) and we needed to flush the shared pool a few months ago as a temporary fix for this as has been noted on this forum. The problem in question was addressed in this forum post: Re: ORA-06502:PL/SQL: numeric or value error: NULL index table key value
    However, with the current problem, flushing the shared pool has not solved the issue. It may not be related.
    When we access the workspace login page: http://our_url/apex/crmqa/f?p=4550:1, I see nothing in the Apache logs to indicate an error.
    The access_log.xxx file in the Apache logs lists this ...

    The DAD entries above point to databases on which Apex is version 3.1.1 and we have modified the image prefix on these database to be a value of /i31, using the script reset_image_prefix.sql.
    This DAD file also contains DAD entries (not included above) for other database running Apex 2.2.1 which are using the default image prefix value of /i
    I can ping the database ip address from the machine on which the OHS webserver is running.
    I have installed OHS on my local laptop and have the same problems.
    I can however execute a procedure on the database using the same OHS / DAD configuration running something like http://our_url/apex/crmqa/schema_name.test_connection?v_wait=1where the proc test_connection proc sleeps for v_wait seconds before returning a simple html page confirming that it worked.
    I can login to the apex_public_user account via my SQL Developer client
    At this point I do not know what else to try to resolve this issue. I am about to start trawling through metalink for related issues if I can find anything.

    Symptoms
    On the Application builder page, when attempting to click details to view the applications, the following error occurs:
    ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: NULL index table key value
    However, the problem seems to disappear after a while..
    Changes
    Upgrade of database (from any version to 10.2.0.1 or 10.2.0.2)
    Cause
    The reason is due to database Bug 4752541 Abstract: APPSST 10G: ORA-6550 AFTER UPGRADE TO 10.2.0.1. However Patch 47552541 is obsoleted and not available via metalink, it was superceded by Patch 5705795.
    This bug is fixed in patchset 10.2.0.4 and above. For current and older versions, Patch 5705795 must be applied. If the patch cannot be found for a particular version or O/S , log a service request with Oracle Support to obtain the patch.
    This is also documented in the Apex forum page: Re: wwv_flow.accept error lists the following bug as
    root cause.
    Solution
    Interim solution:
    Flush the database shared pool when the problem occurs
    Permanent solution:
    Upgrade database to 10.2.0.4 or above
    OR
    Download and apply database Patch 5705795. If the version for your database is not available , create a new Service request from metalink under product RDBMS to request for a patch

  • Interactive Reporting is not opening in Hyperion workspace

    Hi,
    I have installed Hyperion Foundation Services 11.1.1.1.0 and IR 11.1.1.1.0
    I am trying to access IR through Workspace
    I could see the procedure like File-> New-> Document_> interactive reporting document.
    Then i have selected a .oce file to make connection. but i am not able to progress to the next window.
    after selecting .oce file a new pop up is getting populated.Then it is closed automatically in a fraction of second...
    I dont know what is the problem.

    I have tried the same with Mozilla Browser.
    Here I am ablwe to open a page saying
    Checking Hyperion Interactive Reporting Web Client status......
    then another one new win dow is getting opend.
    In that window It was asking for the
    "Press the 'Begin' button to start the installation."
    asking for a confirmation.
    I hav pressed Begin then an error comes
    "Firefox could not install the file at
    http://10.23.7.6:45000/InsightInstaller/Insight.xpi?-l0009
    because: Download error
    -228"

    For the second error
    I could not see any option named
    programs--Hyperion--Intercative Rporting--Utilities and Administratio--Service Configurator--Local Service Configurator
    i could see only a service configurator under workspace-> utilities and administration.

    Can anyone please guide me how to schedule a report on workspace?
    What are the things need to be considered before uploading the report on workspace or during the process?
    Can I schedule a report which will save the report with result after the job is complete?

    Hi Ujjawal,
    To run or schedule the reports in the workspace first we need to have a connection file which is the OCE. See the below steps.
    --Launch IR studio and create a OCE file which connects to the source database and save the file (By default it will be .bqy file)
    In the Hyperion server Goto StartPrograms--Hyperion--Interactive Rporting--Utilities and Administration and Launch service configurator.
    --Now click on 3rd icon which is the Local service configurator and login with an admin account (Default: admin, Password: password).
    --Select DAS_SERVERNAME and goto properties there will be a tab for Datasource selct it and add a new datasource.
    --restart your Hyperion Core and IR and workspace services.
    --Launch workspace
    Navigate to the folder in which to place the file.
    2 Select File > Import > File.
    The first Import dialog box opens.
    3 Click Browse, navigate to the folder where the desired Interactive Reporting connection file is located, select
    the file and click Open.
    The name of the selected Interactive Reporting connection file populates the File field on the
    Import dialog box.
    4 Click Next.
    The second Import dialog box opens.
    Click Finish
    Now import a BQY as a File as Job and select and browse the file and next give your OCE connections and go next and select the time would like to run the job by selecting the Custom Event.
    If you want to schedule a job, you can right click on the file and then add a schedule.
