Hyperion Workspace, Mxl, essbase

Hi,
I'd like to know if it's possible to run a MXL objet by Hyperion Workspace?
If the anwer is Yes, Please could you tell me how and where I can define it on Hyperion Workspace?
We have installed the version 9.3.1

I don't think you can...I think you can create batch scripts if you want the users to be able to execute these.

Could not start the hyperion workspace-web application Error 1067

Hi,
I have installed hyperion from scratch in a distributed environment...everything was working fine.......i.e. shared services, workspace, essbase, sql server, and hfm. I was able to logon and navigate different options in the hyperion products...but essbase stopped working when I re-started all four servers ....?
(1) When I restarted all four servers and stopped and restarted all hyperion services as per giving sequence then everything works fine but essbase EAS console and workspace web console...i was getting error message " could not connect to administration server" whenever i try to connect EAS console to essbase then I went to services there I saw workspace agent and workspace web application service is down.
(2) as soon as I started those both services then my shared services automatically stopped but I was able to logon in Essbase console and workspace console but my shared services are down...
(3) as soon as I start shared service they started but my workspace agent and workspace web application automatically stopped...and when I try to start again workspace web application then I get this error "[ Could not start the hyperion workspace-web application services on local computer. Error 1067: the process terminated unexpectedly]"
I have been searching online and googling but have a hard luck to get some best solution for this...can some one help me or guide me to walk through with this issue...

I solved this issue...It was with Hyperion Services those were stop responding some how.....but I stopped each service and restarted then those started working again...

Startscen from Hyperion Workspace

I am successfully running an ODI routine via the startscen command, ie:

Any ideas?

FDM/ODI/ERPI, but note it is feasible to load data using ERPi without FDM (but still need ODI installed) in which case it should drill back via the ERPi landing stage.
Before going any further i think you need to decide on your data flows and whether you use ERPi or ERPi / FDM to load data, and perhaps search the internet and read some documentation to understand the system, or, get some consultancy.

Hyperion workspace and Planning

Hi,
I have installed Essbase, Essbase Admin service, Hyperion Planning, Hyperion Reporting & UI service for workspace, SQL seerver and Weblogic 9.2 web application server. I have configured all. However i m not sure about Configuration whether it is right or incorrect.
I want to open Hyperion workspace to see & create planning application
Please guide me all the required steps to open Hyperion workspace

Hi,
First of all make sure the account you are using has been provisioned with the roles of Application Creator, Dimension Editor in Shared Services.
Also you will need to have created a datasource in the config utility before creating an application.
The first application you created it is often easier to go direct to planning http://<planning machine>:8300/HyperionPlanning/AppWizard.jsp
If that is all working you test the web server plugin is working, if you are using apache then http://<workspace machine>:19000/HyperionPlanning/
If it takes you directly to planning then it is configured.
Now you can go directly to workspace :- http://<workspace machine>:19000/workspace/index.jsp

Can an obiee dashboard expose a hyperion workspace

Hi all,
I have no experience with hyperion workspaces, does anyone know how (or if) an obiee dashboard can expose a hyperion workspace?
In other words, have obiee provide a link to a workspace, or, better yet, have links to hyperion documents within an obiee dashboard.
I've seen articles the other way around, where obiee can be integrated into hyperion workspaces, but not what I'm looking for.

Hi Dj,
As of now it only supports essbase integration and use the cubes directly in BI.
If you mean hyperion workspace which is application oriented it doesnt support,hopefully next release of 11g is planning for it its in the road map.Should see how it goes.

Error while scheduling batch in hyperion workspace

Getting null point exception while scheduling the batch in hyperion workspace. Iam new to the hyperion workspace and financial reporting. Please helpme.

Have you ever successfully scheduled a batch? Make sure the scheduled batch name does not contain an ampersand "&" symbol or an apostrophe/single tick symbol. Those cause batches to error out for us.

I have recently installed Hyperion 11.1.2.2(Foundation Services and Interactive Reporting) in our environment.
The installation and configuration are successful. Also when I ran a sample BQY it works fine.
If I try to run the sample programs on the Hyperion server in their actual location, they work fine.
I am having problem setting up the SDK remotely and run the sample program.
I am getting the following error when trying to run the sample Login.java provided in /EPMSystem11R1/products/biplus/SDK/samples/java/
Unable to setup SDK for Hyperion 11.1.2.2 remotely

Interactive Reporting is not opening in Hyperion workspace

Hi,
I have installed Hyperion Foundation Services 11.1.1.1.0 and IR 11.1.1.1.0
I am trying to access IR through Workspace
I could see the procedure like File-> New-> Document_> interactive reporting document.
Then i have selected a .oce file to make connection. but i am not able to progress to the next window.
after selecting .oce file a new pop up is getting populated.Then it is closed automatically in a fraction of second...
I dont know what is the problem.

Hi all,
I have tried the same with Mozilla Browser.
Here I am ablwe to open a page saying
Checking Hyperion Interactive Reporting Web Client status......
then another one new win dow is getting opend.
In that window It was asking for the
"Press the 'Begin' button to start the installation."
asking for a confirmation.
I hav pressed Begin then an error comes
"Firefox could not install the file at

How to Schedule Hyperion IR 9.3.1 reports on Hyperion Workspace

I am new to this Hyperion Workspace.
Can anyone please guide me how to schedule a report on workspace?
What are the things need to be considered before uploading the report on workspace or during the process?
Can I schedule a report which will save the report with result after the job is complete?

Hi Ujjawal,
To run or schedule the reports in the workspace first we need to have a connection file which is the OCE. See the below steps.
--Launch IR studio and create a OCE file which connects to the source database and save the file (By default it will be .bqy file)
In the Hyperion server Goto StartPrograms--Hyperion--Interactive Rporting--Utilities and Administration and Launch service configurator.
--Now click on 3rd icon which is the Local service configurator and login with an admin account (Default: admin, Password: password).
--Select DAS_SERVERNAME and goto properties there will be a tab for Datasource selct it and add a new datasource.
--restart your Hyperion Core and IR and workspace services.
--Launch workspace
Navigate to the folder in which to place the file.
2 Select File > Import > File.
The first Import dialog box opens.
3 Click Browse, navigate to the folder where the desired Interactive Reporting connection file is located, select
the file and click Open.
The name of the selected Interactive Reporting connection file populates the File field on the
Import dialog box.
4 Click Next.
The second Import dialog box opens.
Click Finish
Now import a BQY as a File as Job and select and browse the file and next give your OCE connections and go next and select the time would like to run the job by selecting the Custom Event.
If you want to schedule a job, you can right click on the file and then add a schedule.

I am new to Hyperion and want to train in it . Where can I download a trial version of Hyperion Planning and essbase?

Edeliver is where you go to download any of Oracle products. They are not trial versions. They are full versions. The license that you must agree to inorder to download them are for development and self-educational purposes only.
The main site is

From there you pick your language, identify yourself, and agree to the license agreement. Then, you select the product pack and OS of host system. Then, select the product you want to download. The products are splitup by component or modules. You must download everything you need. Foundation, Essbase, Planning, and Reporting and Analysis if you are going to do any reports.
Product pack - Choose Oracle Enterprise Performance Management System
OS - I use a 64bit OS, but choose the right one that you will be installing on.
Then choose,
Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (*11.1.2.0.0*) Media Pack for the OS you choose
Once you have downloaded the required packs, unzip them all into one folder. Merge the folders together and copy and replace all files. Put a check mark in the box that asks to perform this for other conflicts.
Once you have all packs unzipped, run InstallTool.cmd

Hyperion Workspace Financial Reporting Export to Excel Query-Ready Missing

Hyperion Workspace Financial Reporting Export to Excel "Query-Ready" option is Missing in the dropdown when you go to File>Export>Excel
Only the "Fully Formatted" option is available.
From what I recall this option for a "query-ready" export should be available from the HTML preview?
Is there something in configuration that needs to be enabled or something that needs to be checked on to get this option?
We are running 11.1.1.3
The Query-Ready option is available when exporting forms in Planning.
When opening Financial Reports in Smartview the option for "Query-Ready" is available.
For some reason this is not showing up in workspace, does it not exist in 11.1.1.3? Is this a bug?

The option to export the financial report output in "Query-Ready" format is actually at the bottom right hand corner of the report page (look at the report footer) instead of File>Export>Excel.

Header Missing in Hyperion Workspace

Hello,
I am having a problem with the header of my report in Hyperion Workspace. When I do a preview is designer the header appears with no problems, however, when I run the report in Workspace the header does not appear. Any suggestions?

Maybe check the position of the objects/grids on the report to make sure one isn't positioned over another or that one object is set to Top and Left (therefore having precedence over the other objects).
Maybe also check to see that you don't have extra returns in the header code as that can sometimes push the title to be hidden.

Users Can not Access Folders in Hyperion Workspace 11.1.2.2

Hi,
I have created a user "User A" with Shared Services URL with admin ID. I have given all view access to that user.
When User A Log In in Hyperion Workspace, he is not able to see any folders even though I have given full access for that folders to User A.
Please help me what role I have to give User A where he may be able to see his folder where he has access to it.

Can you make sure that he is not a part of a group which has access to the folders.
I don't think he'll be able to view the files inside if he is not having the access to view the files.
Just see whether he can check any files in those folders.
You can restrict the access to other folders by giving a none permission to the users. I would'nt do that if he is not having access to the files inside.

Not able to run any IR jobs in hyperion workspace 11.1.2.2

Hi Everyone,
We are not able to any IR Jobs in hyperion workspace(11.1.2.2)
It's throwing error saying:
"Unable to perform request
A general error was encountered contacting the server.
Recommended Action: Contact your corporate technical support."
I have checked the services(DAS,BI and IR job ) and raframework too.Everything is working fine.
Can Someone please help me in resolving it.
