Hyperion Workspace performance on IE browsers

Hi,
When i try to set preferences for WA using workspace, Workspace->view->preferences->WebAnalysis->Default Formatting, application hangs. It is 11.1.1.3. It was working fine. Suddenly started prompting error.
Please advice.

Hi, created an application as described and this worked, but I still cannot log-in to workflow.
I am using IE9 with 11.1.2.2 Hyperion Planning, I have made the sight trusted, turned off pop-up blockers and ramped down the security for trusted, but still all I see is a window with 'Working......' and nothing beyond that.

We are not able to any IR Jobs in hyperion workspace(11.1.2.2)
It's throwing error saying:
"Unable to perform request
A general error was encountered contacting the server.
Recommended Action: Contact your corporate technical support."
I have checked the services(DAS,BI and IR job ) and raframework too.Everything is working fine.
Can Someone please help me in resolving it.

Thanks alot for you response.I have checked all IE Settings everything looks fine.Seems like the Issue is with IR JOB Config settings.
Dont know what make these all jobs failing at a time.

Periodically Hyperion Workspace Will Hang with msg "Authenticating User.."

Hi,
Periodically Hyperion Workspace Will Hang with the Message "Authenticating User.." after Supplying the Username and Password for the Login. But FDM, Smartview are working fine. The problem is only with workspace.
No errors has been recorded in HSvevent log and workspace logs.
We are using Weblogic application server and the version is 11.1.1.3.
It is working fine once we restart the Hyperion workspace- Agent service.
Please advice the possible root causes for this, so that we can put a permanent fix for this issue.

I've encountered this issue in my slow network environment, and it was rectified after we've done the following:
Enable IE ActiveX controls:
1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options
3. On the Security tab, click the Custom level button
4. Scroll down the Security Settings list until you see ActiveX controls and plug-ins
5. Enable Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls
6. Scroll down to Download signed ActiveX controls and click Enable or Prompt
7. Scroll down to Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins and click Enable or Prompt
8. Scroll down to Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting and click Enable or Prompt
9. Click OK, and then click OK again
Add 3 DWord items to the registry under
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
ReceiveTimeout 900000
KeepAliveTimeout 900000
ServerInfoTimeout 900000
These values are in milliseconds. So, 900000 is 15 minutes
Access URL using the pop-up: http://server:19000/workspace, not the http://server:19000/workspace/index.jsp <-- not sure what's the differences on how this works, but apparently it worked well in my slow network environment.
Increase the workspace server timeout settings.
Use supported browsers in the Oracle certification matrix.

Error while scheduling batch in hyperion workspace

Getting null point exception while scheduling the batch in hyperion workspace. Iam new to the hyperion workspace and financial reporting. Please helpme.

Have you ever successfully scheduled a batch? Make sure the scheduled batch name does not contain an ampersand "&" symbol or an apostrophe/single tick symbol. Those cause batches to error out for us.

I have recently installed Hyperion 11.1.2.2(Foundation Services and Interactive Reporting) in our environment.
The installation and configuration are successful. Also when I ran a sample BQY it works fine.
If I try to run the sample programs on the Hyperion server in their actual location, they work fine.
I am having problem setting up the SDK remotely and run the sample program.
I am getting the following error when trying to run the sample Login.java provided in /EPMSystem11R1/products/biplus/SDK/samples/java/
Unable to setup SDK for Hyperion 11.1.2.2 remotely

Interactive Reporting is not opening in Hyperion workspace

Hi,
I have installed Hyperion Foundation Services 11.1.1.1.0 and IR 11.1.1.1.0
I am trying to access IR through Workspace
I could see the procedure like File-> New-> Document_> interactive reporting document.
Then i have selected a .oce file to make connection. but i am not able to progress to the next window.
after selecting .oce file a new pop up is getting populated.Then it is closed automatically in a fraction of second...
I dont know what is the problem.

Hi all,
I have tried the same with Mozilla Browser.
Here I am ablwe to open a page saying
Checking Hyperion Interactive Reporting Web Client status......
then another one new win dow is getting opend.
In that window It was asking for the
"Press the 'Begin' button to start the installation."
asking for a confirmation.
I hav pressed Begin then an error comes
"Firefox could not install the file at
http://10.23.7.6:45000/InsightInstaller/Insight.xpi?-l0009
because: Download error
-228"

For the second error
I could not see any option named
programs--Hyperion--Intercative Rporting--Utilities and Administratio--Service Configurator--Local Service Configurator
i could see only a service configurator under workspace-> utilities and administration.

How to Schedule Hyperion IR 9.3.1 reports on Hyperion Workspace

I am new to this Hyperion Workspace.
Can anyone please guide me how to schedule a report on workspace?
What are the things need to be considered before uploading the report on workspace or during the process?
Can I schedule a report which will save the report with result after the job is complete?

Hi Ujjawal,
To run or schedule the reports in the workspace first we need to have a connection file which is the OCE. See the below steps.
--Launch IR studio and create a OCE file which connects to the source database and save the file (By default it will be .bqy file)
In the Hyperion server Goto StartPrograms--Hyperion--Interactive Rporting--Utilities and Administration and Launch service configurator.
--Now click on 3rd icon which is the Local service configurator and login with an admin account (Default: admin, Password: password).
--Select DAS_SERVERNAME and goto properties there will be a tab for Datasource selct it and add a new datasource.
--restart your Hyperion Core and IR and workspace services.
--Launch workspace
Navigate to the folder in which to place the file.
2 Select File > Import > File.
The first Import dialog box opens.
3 Click Browse, navigate to the folder where the desired Interactive Reporting connection file is located, select
the file and click Open.
The name of the selected Interactive Reporting connection file populates the File field on the
Import dialog box.
4 Click Next.
The second Import dialog box opens.
Click Finish
Now import a BQY as a File as Job and select and browse the file and next give your OCE connections and go next and select the time would like to run the job by selecting the Custom Event.
If you want to schedule a job, you can right click on the file and then add a schedule.

Hyperion Workspace Financial Reporting Export to Excel Query-Ready Missing

Hyperion Workspace Financial Reporting Export to Excel "Query-Ready" option is Missing in the dropdown when you go to File>Export>Excel
Only the "Fully Formatted" option is available.
From what I recall this option for a "query-ready" export should be available from the HTML preview?
Is there something in configuration that needs to be enabled or something that needs to be checked on to get this option?
We are running 11.1.1.3
The Query-Ready option is available when exporting forms in Planning.
When opening Financial Reports in Smartview the option for "Query-Ready" is available.
For some reason this is not showing up in workspace, does it not exist in 11.1.1.3? Is this a bug?

The option to export the financial report output in "Query-Ready" format is actually at the bottom right hand corner of the report page (look at the report footer) instead of File>Export>Excel.

Header Missing in Hyperion Workspace

Hello,
I am having a problem with the header of my report in Hyperion Workspace. When I do a preview is designer the header appears with no problems, however, when I run the report in Workspace the header does not appear. Any suggestions?

Maybe check the position of the objects/grids on the report to make sure one isn't positioned over another or that one object is set to Top and Left (therefore having precedence over the other objects).
Maybe also check to see that you don't have extra returns in the header code as that can sometimes push the title to be hidden.

Users Can not Access Folders in Hyperion Workspace 11.1.2.2

Hi,
I have created a user "User A" with Shared Services URL with admin ID. I have given all view access to that user.
When User A Log In in Hyperion Workspace, he is not able to see any folders even though I have given full access for that folders to User A.
Please help me what role I have to give User A where he may be able to see his folder where he has access to it.

Can you make sure that he is not a part of a group which has access to the folders.
I don't think he'll be able to view the files inside if he is not having the access to view the files.
Just see whether he can check any files in those folders.
You can restrict the access to other folders by giving a none permission to the users. I would'nt do that if he is not having access to the files inside.

In Hyperion Workspace 11.1.1.3, is there a way to globally set the Hyperion Reporting User Point of View to 'on' for all users?

Yes, you can. I believe it is in the Hyperion\products\biplus\lib folder for 11.1.1.3, but you may have to search for it. Look for fr_repserver.properties. Change the "     Prompt User POV" property from OFF to ON. You will have to restart the following services.
1.     Hyperion Financial Reporting – Print Server
2.     Hyperion Financial Reporting – Report Server
3.     Hyperion Financial Reporting – Scheduler Server
4.     Hyperion Financial Reporting – Web Application (might be on different server)

Reporting in Hyperion Workspace

Hi all,
I am a beginner in Hyperion Workspace reporting and have slight hands on experience on Hyperion Planning.
I created some planning applications, corresponding dataforms and business rules.
Now while creating new reports from Workspace a report is generated for dataforms but no report is generated for planning unit annotations rather some error is reflected "no unit plan started " .
We don't have reporting studio installed in our system n we have to proceed using workspace only.
Kindly help.
If you have any tutorial link or suggestion plz. help.

You need to have some planning unit started in order to have planning unit annotations. To start planning units for a Planning application:
1. Log on to the Planning application
2. Select File > Workflow > Manage Process
3. Select a scenario and version and click Go
4. Click a radio button under Plan Cycle Start

Oracle Hyperion Workspace and Hyperion Interactive Reporting

Hi All,
I'm in a urgent need of downloading Hyperion workspace. I was able to download and install Hyperion Shared Services under "Hyperion Foundation Service". But There are no Hyperion Workspace to download under "Hyperion Foundation Service". Moreover the link to download Hyperion Interactive Report studio is not working and displaying "page not found" error. Can anyone suggest me how to download these two softwares?
