Hyperion Workspace...

Hello Experts,
Whenever I run job in Hyperion workspace, it creates 3 outputs.
First is bqlog_<filename>,
second the simple output of the bqy file
third the web client version of the bqy file.
I want to hide the bqlog_<filename> from every user.
And even an user with Viewer and explorer provision is able to see the web client version output..well they are not able to open it but still they could it there on the workspace output folder.. so I even want to hide this outputs..
So please experts help me to solve the issue.

But need more help.
We are currently on Hyperion 9.2 but at the same time i m getting another server ready with Hyperion System 9.3.1.
Now in the older system we have folders in workspace and in the same folder i m importing the .bqy as jobs and as well as getting the output in the same folder. But in the output folder the users( according to their provision ) cant see the unwanted things. Like i said before. So, I just want to replicate the whole thing to the new system.
So...
Lets say for example..
User1 who is provisioned as Viewer and explorer , logs in workspace.
He see the folder Folder1 in workspace..
Now I as an administrator , have imported a akp.bqy file as a job, scheduled it and everything else..got the output in the same folder i.e in the Folder1...
Now when the User1 open the output folder.. He could see 3 outputs
bqlog_akp.bqy
akp.bqy (simple version)
akp.bqy( Web client version)
As I mentioned before he is provisioned as a Viewer and Explorer.
He could see the content of bqlog_akp.bqy
He could see the content of akp.bqy (Simple version)
But when he tries to open web client version , it throws an error saying that he is not provisioned to see this file...
Thats is perfect ...he cant see the file ...as he is not provisioned..
And the issue is as an Administrator I dont want this user User1 to see the unwanted outputs.
So now may be you could help me with this problem...

Have you ever successfully scheduled a batch? Make sure the scheduled batch name does not contain an ampersand "&" symbol or an apostrophe/single tick symbol. Those cause batches to error out for us.

I have recently installed Hyperion 11.1.2.2(Foundation Services and Interactive Reporting) in our environment.
The installation and configuration are successful. Also when I ran a sample BQY it works fine.
If I try to run the sample programs on the Hyperion server in their actual location, they work fine.
I am having problem setting up the SDK remotely and run the sample program.
I am getting the following error when trying to run the sample Login.java provided in /EPMSystem11R1/products/biplus/SDK/samples/java/
Unable to setup SDK for Hyperion 11.1.2.2 remotely

Interactive Reporting is not opening in Hyperion workspace

Hi,
I have installed Hyperion Foundation Services 11.1.1.1.0 and IR 11.1.1.1.0
I am trying to access IR through Workspace
I could see the procedure like File-> New-> Document_> interactive reporting document.
Then i have selected a .oce file to make connection. but i am not able to progress to the next window.
after selecting .oce file a new pop up is getting populated.Then it is closed automatically in a fraction of second...
I dont know what is the problem.

Hi all,
I have tried the same with Mozilla Browser.
Here I am ablwe to open a page saying
Checking Hyperion Interactive Reporting Web Client status......
then another one new win dow is getting opend.
In that window It was asking for the
"Press the 'Begin' button to start the installation."
asking for a confirmation.
I hav pressed Begin then an error comes
"Firefox could not install the file at

because: Download error

How to Schedule Hyperion IR 9.3.1 reports on Hyperion Workspace

Hi All,
I am new to this Hyperion Workspace.
Can anyone please guide me how to schedule a report on workspace?
What are the things need to be considered before uploading the report on workspace or during the process?
Can I schedule a report which will save the report with result after the job is complete?

Hi Ujjawal,
To run or schedule the reports in the workspace first we need to have a connection file which is the OCE. See the below steps.
--Launch IR studio and create a OCE file which connects to the source database and save the file (By default it will be .bqy file)
In the Hyperion server Goto StartPrograms--Hyperion--Interactive Rporting--Utilities and Administration and Launch service configurator.
--Now click on 3rd icon which is the Local service configurator and login with an admin account (Default: admin, Password: password).
--Select DAS_SERVERNAME and goto properties there will be a tab for Datasource selct it and add a new datasource.
--restart your Hyperion Core and IR and workspace services.
--Launch workspace
Navigate to the folder in which to place the file.
2 Select File > Import > File.
The first Import dialog box opens.
3 Click Browse, navigate to the folder where the desired Interactive Reporting connection file is located, select
the file and click Open.
The name of the selected Interactive Reporting connection file populates the File field on the
Import dialog box.
4 Click Next.
The second Import dialog box opens.
Click Finish
Now import a BQY as a File as Job and select and browse the file and next give your OCE connections and go next and select the time would like to run the job by selecting the Custom Event.
If you want to schedule a job, you can right click on the file and then add a schedule.

Hyperion Workspace Financial Reporting Export to Excel Query-Ready Missing

Hyperion Workspace Financial Reporting Export to Excel "Query-Ready" option is Missing in the dropdown when you go to File>Export>Excel
Only the "Fully Formatted" option is available.
From what I recall this option for a "query-ready" export should be available from the HTML preview?
Is there something in configuration that needs to be enabled or something that needs to be checked on to get this option?
We are running 11.1.1.3
The Query-Ready option is available when exporting forms in Planning.
When opening Financial Reports in Smartview the option for "Query-Ready" is available.
For some reason this is not showing up in workspace, does it not exist in 11.1.1.3? Is this a bug?

The option to export the financial report output in "Query-Ready" format is actually at the bottom right hand corner of the report page (look at the report footer) instead of File>Export>Excel.

can plz help to configure the hyperion workspace.i'm tried so many times but i i'm able to login in work space..i'm getting this errotr:plz suppliy valid username and password.
after workspace configuration i got error message i.e sso :could not login to work space
and slaso i'm having one dought : is it reqire to configur the databse connection for workspace.

Header Missing in Hyperion Workspace

Hello,
I am having a problem with the header of my report in Hyperion Workspace. When I do a preview is designer the header appears with no problems, however, when I run the report in Workspace the header does not appear. Any suggestions?

Maybe check the position of the objects/grids on the report to make sure one isn't positioned over another or that one object is set to Top and Left (therefore having precedence over the other objects).
Maybe also check to see that you don't have extra returns in the header code as that can sometimes push the title to be hidden.

Users Can not Access Folders in Hyperion Workspace 11.1.2.2

Hi,
I have created a user "User A" with Shared Services URL with admin ID. I have given all view access to that user.
When User A Log In in Hyperion Workspace, he is not able to see any folders even though I have given full access for that folders to User A.
Please help me what role I have to give User A where he may be able to see his folder where he has access to it.

Can you make sure that he is not a part of a group which has access to the folders.
I don't think he'll be able to view the files inside if he is not having the access to view the files.
Just see whether he can check any files in those folders.
You can restrict the access to other folders by giving a none permission to the users. I would'nt do that if he is not having access to the files inside.

Not able to run any IR jobs in hyperion workspace 11.1.2.2

Hi Everyone,
We are not able to any IR Jobs in hyperion workspace(11.1.2.2)
It's throwing error saying:
"Unable to perform request
A general error was encountered contacting the server.
Recommended Action: Contact your corporate technical support."
I have checked the services(DAS,BI and IR job ) and raframework too.Everything is working fine.
Can Someone please help me in resolving it.

In Hyperion Workspace 11.1.1.3, is there a way to globally set the Hyperion Reporting User Point of View to 'on' for all users?

Yes, you can. I believe it is in the Hyperion\products\biplus\lib folder for 11.1.1.3, but you may have to search for it. Look for fr_repserver.properties. Change the "     Prompt User POV" property from OFF to ON. You will have to restart the following services.
1.     Hyperion Financial Reporting – Print Server
2.     Hyperion Financial Reporting – Report Server
3.     Hyperion Financial Reporting – Scheduler Server
4.     Hyperion Financial Reporting – Web Application (might be on different server)

Reporting in Hyperion Workspace

Hi all,
I am a beginner in Hyperion Workspace reporting and have slight hands on experience on Hyperion Planning.
I created some planning applications, corresponding dataforms and business rules.
Now while creating new reports from Workspace a report is generated for dataforms but no report is generated for planning unit annotations rather some error is reflected "no unit plan started " .
We don't have reporting studio installed in our system n we have to proceed using workspace only.
Kindly help.
If you have any tutorial link or suggestion plz. help.

You need to have some planning unit started in order to have planning unit annotations. To start planning units for a Planning application:
1. Log on to the Planning application
2. Select File > Workflow > Manage Process
3. Select a scenario and version and click Go
4. Click a radio button under Plan Cycle Start
BTW, there is a [Planning-specific forum|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/forum.jspa?forumID=408] that is probably better suited for your Planning-related questions.

Oracle Hyperion Workspace and Hyperion Interactive Reporting

Hi All,
I'm in a urgent need of downloading Hyperion workspace. I was able to download and install Hyperion Shared Services under "Hyperion Foundation Service". But There are no Hyperion Workspace to download under "Hyperion Foundation Service". Moreover the link to download Hyperion Interactive Report studio is not working and displaying "page not found" error. Can anyone suggest me how to download these two softwares?

login to shared services
go to user directories
select user
right click on user and click om provision
give the appropriate provision to the user

Hyperion workspace log-in issue for only one (in Shared Services) active di

Hi All,
This is Raj, working as Hyp support analyst.
I have big issue in Hyperion production environment. (version No. 9.3.1)
Issue is, we had issues with TWO active directories of Hyperion Shared Servces which ad1 and ad2. We found that the TWO respective active directories (ad1 and ad2) of their hosts are not working.
After that we changed those two active directories hosts with new host names respectively. We have implemented these changes in DEV first and those TWO active directories user able to access Hyperion workspace (HFM users) which are under ad1 active directory. offcourse we have all the servers as well.
But ad2 users are NOT able log-in to the Production workspace but they are able to log-in with DEV workspace.
Not really sure what happened... (Please note that, No access is changed for any of the users)... if it is LDAP issue...how it to resolve...
Can some one please help oout in this...

Hi,
Those error messages usually happen when Shared Services has just started up and before the other services have started, it sends out a ping to see if it gets a response from the other application servers, the pings will fail until the other services have started, once they have started them messages should disappear.
I would check that if any changes have happened to your MSAD or the account that shared services uses.

Could not start the hyperion workspace-web application Error 1067

Hi,
I have installed hyperion from scratch in a distributed environment...everything was working fine.......i.e. shared services, workspace, essbase, sql server, and hfm. I was able to logon and navigate different options in the hyperion products...but essbase stopped working when I re-started all four servers ....?
(1) When I restarted all four servers and stopped and restarted all hyperion services as per giving sequence then everything works fine but essbase EAS console and workspace web console...i was getting error message " could not connect to administration server" whenever i try to connect EAS console to essbase then I went to services there I saw workspace agent and workspace web application service is down.
(2) as soon as I started those both services then my shared services automatically stopped but I was able to logon in Essbase console and workspace console but my shared services are down...
(3) as soon as I start shared service they started but my workspace agent and workspace web application automatically stopped...and when I try to start again workspace web application then I get this error "[ Could not start the hyperion workspace-web application services on local computer. Error 1067: the process terminated unexpectedly]"
I have been searching online and googling but have a hard luck to get some best solution for this...can some one help me or guide me to walk through with this issue...

I solved this issue...It was with Hyperion Services those were stop responding some how.....but I stopped each service and restarted then those started working again...
