2. A batch scripting could be done using the Esscmd and the maxl scripts then could be called into the bat files.We have various thread held with this information.
3. If you wish to take the backup of an application you will have to cover the .otl file, .rul file and .csc file and the report scripts if any.

Hyperion Essbase Error: 1002097 Unable to load database [PlanType1]

Hello,
I am running Hyperion Essbase 9.2.0.3 version. This has happened 3 times now since last 2 weeks. I had to restore the APP folder from previous backup.
The message that i see is Error: 1002097 Unable to load database [PlanType1]
I have searched google and no luck. Anyone knows how to fix this or why we get this message. I don't want to restore from backup everytime.

I think you have currepted backup.
Try run essmsh script to recover broken block's.

Error while scheduling a Hyperion Interactive Report

I'm trying to run a scheduled Hyperion Interactive Report (version 9.3.1). The report is scheduled to run for 1st of every month. After the report is scheduled. When a user tries to run the report on demand.

But when the report is uploaded and when the user tries running it. It runs without any problem.
The report has 3 filters(drop downs) on runtime.

check your discoverer user role using:
select granted_role from dba_role_privs where grantee=upper('<username>');
from your database. the database to which the desktop is connecting.
check for connect, resouce, multiorg roles.

Error WHile creating a User in Hyperion Planning

HI,
Please someone guide since im facing this problem for a longtime.
I created a user in Planning webpage and refreshed the security filters.
When i tried to login using planning webinterface, it showed an error "User priscila_monsanto does not exist in the domain or the password is incorrect"
And i could able to find an exception in the file"Hyperion Planning-err.log" present in Jrun path of the planning server.
And when i logged into the admin console for the plannng cube, i found user anme in the security-->users field and there is no filters assigned to the user.
Please help me.

This is definitely a Custom Adapter because OOTB Adapter name is adpADCSADDUSERTOGROUP and NOT adpADDUSERTOADGROUP
So, it is your custom code and in the code you are passing incorrect value of the Active Directory Child process form...
The correct name is UD_ADUSRC and the Group Name column name is UD_ADUSRC_GROUPNAME.
While you are passing UD_AD_CHILD as the child process form and UD_AD_CHILD_GRP_NAME as Group Name column name..
Use OOTB Adapter... Correct these discrepancies... Your addition of group will work
And since you are creating custom adapter, you need to be more careful and remain consistent throughout..
Then if you want to use UD_AD_CHILD_GRP_NAME, use it everywhere consistently... Pass only this value in the adapter...
And even in lookups, if any... Search everywhere... Keep things consistent... They will work... Because good news is that you are able to create user in AD via Java Code...
And if any post is even slightly helpful, it is a good habit to mark it with helpful or correct ... And also mark the entire question as answered so that other people also are benefited.

Error in starting Hyperion Reports

I always have a problem in starting the reports. Most of the times I will get the error Could not connect to GSM server servername:6800 why I am getting this error all the time. What exactly this GSM server do .

1) Check whether your BI services started or not
if it is started
2) your configuration has some problem
every Hyperion system has one GSM (Global Service manager)

Here there are 2 things, once your epma heirarchy is ready did you deploy it against your planning App ? and incase if you haven't deployed your planning application, then old outline would be existing in Essbase and if you load data for old outline it will still take into but when you deploy the database gets restructured and older data gets restructured/removed.
Before going onto that level first check if your load data to essbase completed successfully. and did you load data for the combinations on dataform ? ? Try manually inputting a number through data form and submit and do a refresh to see if value comes up. ? Check your data form settings , if you have enables suppress missing rows/blocks.

From your description, you want to achieve the following goal:
Configure Exchange to filter the attachments if the size is over 10 MB and store it in a public folder, and then forward the email to Salesforce.
Based on my knowledge, I'm afraid that it can't be achieved. Exchange can filter messages with attachments, but it couldn't store these attachments on public folder automatically. Also, I don't see any transport rule can do it.

How to find maximum number of users we can assign for Hyperion Planning.i.e., how to find license limit in hyperion planning 11.1.2.1.
In Essbase propreties, the system is showing maximum planning users could be 65535.
what would be the number for concurrent scenario?

The number of users would be based on your license agreement with Oracle, the system is not aware of your license agreement so it is up to you to stick to it.

How to find licence for Hyperion Software

I want "Essbase Application Manager" for one of my team member but somehow our desktop support team is not able to find this software in their catalog . I think name of the software may be changed.
I have same software on my desktop but it is inside "Hyperion Solutions" SOftware . Does anyone have any idea on my situatuin.
Is there any Hyperion product in which I can ""Essbase Application Manager" for my day to day work
Also I want to find licence for the Hyperion SOLutions software on my desktop. Can anyone tell me how I can find it ?

What version of Essbase are you running? I think Application Manager was decommissioned in Version 6 (although it might have been Version 7). It was replaced by Essbase Administration Services(EAS). Application Manager does not need a license as it is just an administrative tool for Essbase. For the license number again it depends on the version. Later version do not have a license number, earlier versions do. In some cases you can get it from App Manager by getting server properties and it will show you. In other versions, you would start Essbase in foreground and it will show you the license as it starts. Essbase 7.16, System 9.3.1 and Version 11 do not have licenses that you have to enter.

Unable to log in to Hyperion Planning App Wizard. This is my new installation. There is no error message in the planing windows. After click on log on button, the page just getting refresh and its come to same page only.

Those are just warnings and shouldn't be an issue.
What browser are you using, have you tried to go directly and through workspace to the application creation wizard.

I think the installation of planning on Vista is difficult. As some of the files doesn't support even i am tired of doing that.
But tell me one thing have you installed all other products , I mean Essbase, (server, client) , AAS and Shared services.
Are they working good .
I have formatted my system to XP and installed everything , but the problem is when i install planning it prompts me that IIS 5 should be greater other wise EPM will not install...
there are lot of things with planning 1) i can't datasource as it is not highlighting when we configure with Shared services
2) It does not create product instance .
If any one can fix this thing by giving me a suggestions.

Installation problem with hyperion 11.1.2.1

Hi all,
I have installed Hyperion 11.1.2.1 in my remote system.
I have installed Foundation services,Reporting and analysis components two days back Installation was successful and i was able to view in the worksapce and the shared services URL's.
Today when i start the shared services url its throwing error saying Bridge connection error. Then i checked this in the Weblogic its showing the state as "Starting" for Foundation service for a long time. After some time showing the sate as Running. But some times its shows "Admin" as it state.
Eventhough everything running state but my sharedservices url is not running. But the services related to database are up and running.
I tried to restart and delete the cookies but same result.
Can anyone help me in fixing the issue.

I am using windows 2003 server.
I have uninsatlled the hyperion products and cleaned the registery.
Then started reinstalling in the process of installation i have done like this.
1.Foundation services 1 to 7 in cluding Additional components and configured.
2.Then i installed hyperion Reporting components and configured to make sure that workspace is works fine including reporting. After installation i validated its working fine.
3.Then i installed Essbase by stopping all the services and configured.
I am able to configure but when i open the console to its not allowing me to login. Then i checked the Shared services window its showing as
*"Failure of server APACHE bridge:"*
But when i check in the weblogic console its showing the status as Running for all the services.
Sometimes able to do but sometimes when i open open the weblogic console shows the status as Admin.
I not able find why its behaving abnormally.
I am following the installation as per the documentation.
Is there any regulation saying this has to be installed first if so please correct me.

I came across a situation where i need to use an "IF Condiotn" inside a member formula. I am not sure of its syntax, can some help me with that.

There is a slight difference when using IF statements in member formulas. You don't need to specify the member block association in a member formula
In a calc script

Hyperion Installation and Sample Application Problem

Hi,
I am a new user of Hyperion Planning 9. I am an Oracle DBA by profession with training and experience in Data Warehousing.
After the installation of Hyperion Planning 9.3.1, I do not have dimension library under http://server4:19000/workspace -> navigate
I want to load the Sample Application to practice with Hyperion functionalities.
Implementation: (VMWare Server)
1. Oracle Database - Server1
2. Hyperion Shared Services - Server2
3. Hyperion Essbase - Server3
4. Planning, BI+ - Server4
Any advice/assistance will be appreciated.

Did you give your self admin access in Shared Services (http://localhost:58080/interop/)? When installing the application the admin user only has provision rights and can't access the dimensions.
You can also go to planning directly by going to this link instead of going through workspace:
http://localhost:8300/HyperionPlanning/LogOn.jsp
