Hyperlink in mail

Hi. I am trying to put a hyperlink in one image inside an email. I can see the image, I can use the hyperlink command in edit but nothing happen. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
jro

sorry, I don't know why this doesn't work for you. you seem to be doing it correctly so it should just work.
some things to try (none might help).
1. try this from a different user account.
2. reinstall Mail from optional installs on the leopard DVD.
3. reinstall Safari update.
after doing 2 or 3 you'll have to reinstall 10.5.3 combo update too to bring your system up to date.

  • Hyperlinks from mail slow to open

Whenever a hyperlink in mail is selected mail goes into a 'Not responding' mode for 45 to 50 seconds before opening. Mail will then continue to work normally until another hyperlink is selected.

I'm not sure how to tell what the size of my largest Mailbox is, but it has about 130 messages.
Unless some cron script or other utility rebuilds mailboxes, never. I just rebuilt them and will keep you up to date.
    Again,

  • Hyperlinks in mail not working

Bit of an odd problem. If I click on a hyperlink in mail with Safari closed it does nothing. Again if I right and select the open option from there it does nothing. If Safari is open, irrespective of what page it's on, Safari opens in front of mail, but doesn't take me to the page it just stays on the page it opened at.. It seems to stem from my installing Chrome, which I have now uninstalled using 'CLEAN MY MAC'. When I go into Safari preferences I now expect to only see one default web browser, but the Chrome option still appears. I have tried resetting Safari. Can I delete and re install Safari or is there a plist or something that is corrupt.
    Ken

"CleanMyMac" is a scam and a common cause of instability and poor performance. The developer's instructions don't completely remove it. Follow those instructions, then do as below.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.macpaw.CleanMyMac2.Agent.plist
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Repeat with this line:
    /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/com.macpaw.CleanMyMac2.Agent
Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Never again install "CleanMyMac" or anything like it.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
Then reinstall the OS.* You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need the backup unless something goes wrong. If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used.
If you use FileVault 2, then before running the Installer you must launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the FileVault startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) It will be nested below another icon with the same name. Click the Unlock button in the toolbar and enter your login password when prompted. Then quit Disk Utility to be returned to the main Recovery screen.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.
*The linked support article refers to OS X 10.9 ("Mavericks"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later.

  • Hyperlinks in Mail?

I am a writer and send out links to my Internet articles to a mailing list. I assumed all received links were hyper links. A friend with a Mac was not receiving them as hyperlinks when I was sending them from my old G3 in Outlook Express. I am still sending to that list from my G3. I address them to myself with the mailing list in the bcc field.
Now, I saw one of them on my G5 and the link was not hyperlinked in Mail. Why is this? I do get hyperlinks in Mail from other sources. I find Mail kind of buggy.
For example, I still send from the G3 using OE because the mailing list groups did not import to mail as group lists. The group lists were lost. I did not want to rebuild those lists of over 500 addresses manually.
    Can the groups be imported??
    Thanks
    G5 iMac (iSight)   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

edit>link is all that I am aware of, though when I use it, I copy and paste the web address in lieu of typing it in. Hopes this helps some.

  • Remove underline from hyperlink in Mail.

How can I remove the underline from hyperlinks in Mail?
    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks Roam.
I actually used to be able to do this, six months ago at least. Now I cannot. It is odd.  I see my older signatures and they are without the underline and I do remember being able to remove them. The simple text edit no longer works for links now....
    Apple, please fix this!
    Thanks again.

  • Mail on MacBook won't open hyperlinks behind mail.

After updating to Yosemite 10.10.2 I no longer can open hyperlinks behind Mail. I can open them by clicking on them which takes me directly to the web page, however, some emails have multiple links which I wish to open without leaving Mail first. Prior to the OS upgrade this problem would occur with a few emails but now it happens with all emails.

    LadyC,
Quit/Force Quit Calendar, then paste this text ~/Library into the Finder>Go>Go to Folder...window and select "Go." This will open the Users Library Folder.
Next open the Calendars and move any any files with "Cache" listed in the name field to your Desktop.
Also open the Preferences Folder in the same Library, and move the com.apple.iCal.plist file to the Desktop.
Log out/in or restart, and open Calendar.

  • Breaking Hyperlinks in mail

When I place a long hyperlink in an e-mail message it "breaks" when received by the recipient thought it looks perfect when I send it. For instance:
It looks like this when I place a hyperlink in an e-mail message:
    http://discussions.apple.com/post!default.jspa?forumID=960
When received by the recipient it looks like this:
    http://discussions.apple.com/post!
    default.jspa?forumID=960
Only the first line is a "blue hyperlink" so the result is that by clicking on the link the don't get anywhere. This happens ALL THE TIME no matter who the recipient is and it only happens with longer links.
The frustration is I have to put a disclaimer explaining that this can happen and to "please copy and past the whole link in your browser, ..."
I received a reply as follows from .mac help:
Quote -I understand that when you include a web address in messages that you send, the link is often broken when it is received by the recipient.
The reason this is happening is because most email clients see a web address as one long word and break the URL into a second line. Because of this, only part of the address appears as a link which may be clicked on. - end Quote
They suggested I call Apple Care, which I did. Apple Care basically explained that this is a glitch and that MAIL will always automatically break long links/words after around 60 or so characters.
So the answer from Apple is there is nothing to be done about it. The guy I spoke with said this was the first he has heard of the problem so I am questioning his (lack of ) answer and seeking a second opinion, YOU!
Am I the only one who is having this problem?
I tried the option of turning a couple words (like "click here") into the hyperlink (open mail, then "new message", "Edit", "Add Hyperlink". etc and the hyperlink looks perfect to me but again, after being received there is no hyperlink, just two black words "click here" that don't take you anywhere.
    Any ideas?

It's all non-MAC using recipients, using every type of email viewer.
Your comment "If the receiver is seeing messages in plain text, that's probably the way it works...." Brings up the point that I'm SENDING in plain text (at the suggestion of Apple Care).
I did a couple of tests just now to my friend, a PC user. Sent long links in plain and rich text and guess what? They break in plain text but are intact in rich text. Same goes for the second part of my question regarding turning words like "click here" into a hyperlink. Does not work in plain text but it works just fine in rich text.
    Genius Kenichi Watanabe!
I brought up the topic of plain vs rich text with the Apple Care guy when addressing this issue. He knew I was using Plain text, I even asked if that had anything to do with it!?!?! Frustrating!
Still a bit confused about Plain vs Rich. This article helped a bit:

Thanks again! Glad you spent the time to read and answer my question.

  • How to change the color in the hyperlinks in mail

    Hello,
I just wanted to ask, if anyone knows, can I somehow make the hyperlinks that I place on my mail signature be seen without that blue underlined style?
when I apply the color and the font of my choice it seems to be ok, but as soon as I sent the mail the ilnks on my signature turn out to be the classic hyperlink style that I do hate!
    Thanks in advance!
    nikolas.

I'm no expert in this area, but you can use HTML to create your signature.
There are several how-to guides on the internet.  Here's one of them:

  • I am using Firefox 32 and OSX 10.7.5 Suddenly hyperlinks in Mail will not open in Firefox - it jumps to Firefox but nothing opens.

I'm pretty sure I have used hyperlinks from the Mac Mail program since I upgraded to Firefox 32. A couple days ago, when I clicked on a link in an email, it jumps to Firefox but no new tab with web page opens. If I close Firefox, then clink on the link in mail, Firefox opens with the desired web page. I have verified that Firefox is my default browser. I have opened in Safe mode. I have reset Firefox to default. I have tried links from multiple emails. Nothing changes this problem. I have not downloaded any additional software since upgrading to Firefox 32. I am perplexed.

    In about:config, browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external is set at -1.
Yes, Firefox is already open when I click on the link embedded into an email message. If I copy and paste the link, it opens the web page with no problem. Also, if I right-click on the link in the email (usually embedded behind a button) and select "Open Link Behind Mail," it will also open the web page, however it does not jump to a Firefox window, I need to go there manually.
If Firefox is closed when I click on the link in the email message, the browser will open with the linked web page.
Here are all my browser.link.open settings:
    browser.link.open_newwindow;3
    browser.link.open_newwindow.disabled_in_fullscreen;true
    browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external;-1
    browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction;2

  • Sending  a hyperlink through mail

    HI all,
I am sending a mail to outlook mailbox of a user using FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1. In that i need to send a link also. When the user clicks on that link it should go to a webpage.
    Example : Mail format.
    Hi,
      Please <b>click here</b>.
    thanks.
when user clicks on the "Click here" words it should point to webpage(html). So if anyone has come across such requirement please give your ideas.
    Thanks in advance,
    Shyam.
PS: Please  go through the FM which i mentioned. In that FM data is taken as text elements.

    Shyam,
If your object type is ...
    object_type  = 'HTM'
then you can use html anchor tag for the hyperlink....
    ex:
    a href='www.google.com'>Click Here</a>
    Hope this helps..
    Regards.

  • TS3899 Hyperlinks in Mail won't redirect

Selecting a link in Mail message doesn't work. Safari frequently crashes and websites only load partially unless refreshed a few times. These symptoms started before the latest problem with hyperlinks not working in Mail. I reviewed discussions via google search but didn't locate any fixes. Any suggestions?

See if this fixes it for you.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Hyperlink in mail message gets changed

I'm having trouble mailing webpage addresses. If I copy and paste an address into an email the entire thing does not get underlined so when recipients click on it they don't get the entire address. If I use mail/edit/add hyperlink and paste the address into the hyperlink address box, it gets changed; after the % extra characters are getting pasted in.
anyone else having this problem or know what to do about it?
    thanks!
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

They get added because when replying, or forwarding
an e-mail you get quotes added as well as spaces.
And e-mail programs don't deal with long strings of
    text very well.
thanks for the help! I'm a regular subscriber to tinyurl now! My next problem is figuring out how to get my movies viewed by folks.

  • Broken hyperlinks after mailing

Trying to email a PDF with hyperlinks (converted PowerPoint document) that won't break. I've selected every relevant check box as applicable (Attach source file, Add Links, etc.) in Conversion Settings. Even tried creating a folder on receiver's desktop and saving all relevant files there to check hyperlinked files. Also tried updating every hyperlink "Execute Action" within Acrobat Pro and deleting original links created from noted PowerPoint document. Regardless of what I try, the links after mailing never work. It's ridicullous for what you spend on ACrobat Pro software. Can someone please help!

Do you know what PDF viewer is being used when the links don't work?

  • Hyperlinks in Mail opening Explorer, not Safari HELP

A week ago, Mail started opening Internet Explorer when I clicked on hyperlink within an email. Prior to this, it was opening Safari, which is what I wanted. I've looked everywhere I can think of in the OS and application to see if I can find a way to switch it back, but I can't find it. Another highly anoying Microsoft trick. Please let me know if you know how to get hyperlinks to open with Safari.
    Thanks,
    Ross

No problem. Glad I could help. Most likely, the first time you used IE a dialog box poped up that asked to set IE as your default browser. I know the PCs I use at school ask every time you open IE, no matter what your response is.
