Hyperlink in Visio opens in new tab

I have created a Visio-document with some shapes. I have set hyperlinks to other .aspx-files in the SitePages-library on these shapes, and these hyperlink also contains FilterField and FilterValue to filter a document Library.
In example:
/SitePages/page1.aspx?FilterField1=Process&FilterValue1=Processname
Every time I click on a shape the page opens in a new tab.
I can't figure out why?

Hi lars, not sure what you want it to do, but this might be what you're talking about. Go to the Visio file tab, click options, then advanced and choose what you want for the settings in the image below:

  • Hyperlink/button always opens in new tab/window

    Hello everyone,
is there any way to change this ? I have a swf based menu with links to current site, but it always opens a new tab.
Also, can i choose where to apply "interactive page curl" or it must be applied to all pages ?
    Thanks

Defining a hyperlink (in Indesign) for an exported swf file to open an URL in the same browser window is not possible. And I think you are out of luck for page curl on certain pages, I think it will apply to all pages. These two scenarios would require working in Flash.

  • Visio Web Access - hyperlinks in Visio drawings always open in new tab

    Hi,
One of our users has developed a large collection of Visio drawings that describe the business process.  When he clicks on a box in one Visio drawing, it will open the next Visio drawing (using a Hyperlink on that shape).
When he uploads these documents onto SharePoint 2013 and uses the standard Visio Web Access application (full-screen, not a web part - so he just opens the Visio drawing), the hyperlinks work perfectly - except, they always open in a new browser tab.
Is there any way to force the shape hyperlinks to open in the same tab when using Visio Web Access?

    Hi  sidasta,
According to your description, my understanding is that the hyperlink of
Visio document  opens with new tab.
It is by default that SharePoint 2013 Visio Service deals with
the hyperlink of Visio document. There is no approach that Microsoft Visio keep the same location when it follows a hyperlink to open a Web page.

  • Visio Webpart-links opens in new tab

    Hi,
I have created a Visio-document with some shapes. I have set hyperlinks to other .aspx-files in the
    SitePages-library on these shapes.
Everytime I click on a linked shape it opens in a new tab. How can I solve this?
For your information: The ShapeSheet in Visio is correctly set up. "NewWindow" is set to "False".
    I have Sharepoint 365.
    Thanks in advance!
    Thomas

    Hi  Thomas,
According to your description, my understanding is that the hyperlink of
Visio document  opens with new tab.
For my test, I create a rectangle with hyperlink
in a Visio document and  set the NewWindow property of the hyperlink to false using VB coding as below:
    Public Sub NewWindow_Example()
    Dim vsoHyperlink As Visio.Hyperlink
    Set vsoHyperlink = ActivePage.DrawRectangle(0,0,5,5).AddHyperlink
    vsoHyperlink.Address = "http://www.microsoft.com/"
    vsoHyperlink.NewWindow = False
    End Sub
But this hyperlink opens in new tab in my SharePoint 2013 Online as your scenario. It is by default that SharePoint 2013 Visio Service deals with
the hyperlink of Visio document. There is no approach that Microsoft Visio keep the same location when it follows a hyperlink to open a Web page.

  • Create Hyperlinks that open in new tab or window?!

    Hello,
Ok, so, this has been asked other times for many versions of InDesign and most common response is to do it in Acrobat Pro. WHY?!!!! I couldn't even easily figure out how to do it there and frankly, don't want to. That seems so backwards and tedious to have to do...seriously. How is this not an option in InDesign Hyperlink edit creation/options yet?!! It is SO simple. Please tell me I'm missing something... I love Adobe products and especially CC products that are getting better and more time saving...but this is so dumb, I'm sorry. I'm no smarty software engineer but I know what user friendly is and how things should work for everyone...and it seems like an easy thing to make possible. Many people create PDF's in InDesign for viewing/downloading in a browser and this needs to be an option with-in InDesign CC. Simple as that. When the PDF is opened in Acrobat the links do open in new tab/window but NOT when it is viewed in a browser. This is why I should or maybe shouldn't work for Adobe, I wouldn't let little things like this, that actually makes a big difference in user experience, go unnoticed and unchanged over so many new releases and updates...or ever be taken away. I guess I'll put in an InDesign CC features request...
Thanks to anyone who agrees and relays...or lets me know I'm missing something.
    Andy

I would also like a solution to this problem. It seems to have been around for quite a while.

The Ask Toolbar is causing that in the Firefox 3.6.13+ versions. Uninstall that extension.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:
    * Check the Windows Control panel for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
    * Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

  • Tip Message with hyperlink to open in new tab/window

    Hi Guys,
I have created a FND Message which has the following content:
some text <a href="https://www.google.co.uk"target="_blank">Click Here</a> some more text
This is referenced in a custom OAF page as a Tip Message (OATipBean), the text and hyperlink render with no issues, however the hyperlink does not open in a new tab/window (it opens in the current tab) - when you view the source of the page the '...target="blank"...' is not there:
    ... <a href="https://www.google.co.uk">Click Here</a> ...
Is there a way of getting hyperlinks in Messages to open in new tabs/windows?

I think part of your problem might lie in the way you are trying to use your quotation marks.  It appears you are trying to have the single quotes do what double quotes should be doing.
    document.write("<a href='"+imagelinks[ry]+"' target='_blank'><img src='"+myimages[ry]+"' border='none'></a>
If you want to have doublequotes appear in code as doublequote characters you can try slashing them to have them read literally... \"
    document.write("<a href=\""+imagelinks[ry]+"\" target=\"_blank\"><img src=\""+myimages[ry]+"\" border=\"none\"></a>

  • Firefox 6 ,Hyperlink not opening when I select Open In New Tab, it always Open In New Windows.

I have just upgrade to Firefox 6 and I having problems opening Hyperlink when I select Open In New Tab, it always Open In New Windows. It will work when I open another copy of Firefox browser but not on my main browser. Any suggestions to fix this ?

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Safari 5.1.9 Why can't we set up Safari to open a new tab by clicking on a hyperlink?

I have a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X 10.6.8, using Safari 5.1.9.
I was wondering why Safari doesn't have the option so that a new tab is opened after clicking on a hyperlink, and to avoid the need to control click?

I just learnt, by accident, that simply clicking the 'Open Apple' button the 'select' button opens a new tab when accessing a hyperlink.
'select' is the word I am using for an older MacBook Pro button which is located at the bottom of the trackpad.
Which is a satisfactory answer to my question.
       Cheers.

  • Is it possible to simply click on a hyperlink and go to that page rather than open a new tab or new window?

Currently my settings open a new tab in the same window. In a normal surfing session I may end up with numerous tabs. What if I just want to go from the page I'm on to the next...

You can set the <b>browser.link.open_newwindow</b> pref to 1 on the <b>about:config</b> page to open links in the current tab.

    Hi Marx,
With this kind of data testing it is helpful to provide context to the issue you are trying to document. This technical information is very useful to the engineers working on the performance of Firefox and I am sure this is the kind of information they would love to see.
Therefore I would like to put you in touch with this team to see what they can do with this information. Talk to the #perf channel in irc and they should be able to put you in the right direction. I am asking currently and see what I can find. Or in the meantime check out the current tab bugs in the Performance component of bugzilla provided in the search below: [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=tab%20performance&list_id=9361049]

  • "Open in new tab" menu when a link is right-clicked?

Is there any way in Flex 2 to make a link shows a contextual
menu (when it's right-clicked) that shows "Open in new tab" à
la Firefox (and probably in IE7)?
I think such function is vital for the success of Flex 2.
Any one out there who knows how to do it?

Unfortunately, I don't think Mozilla/Firefox provides any way
    to let us do
this programmatically; the only way for it to happen is for a
    user to do it
    himself, e.g. by ctrl-clicking a regular HTML <A> link.
    (I haven't checked on
whether IE 7 provides a way.) If you look at
    http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/DOM:window.open
    , there is this Q&A:
    -- begin quote --
Q: How do I open a referenced resource of a link in a new
    tab? or in a
    specific tab?
A: Currently, you can not. Only the user can set his advanced
    preferences to
    do that. K-meleon 0.9, a Mozilla-based browser, gives
    complete control and
power to the user regarding how links are opened. Some
    advanced extensions
also give Mozilla and Firefox a lot of power over how
    referenced resources are
    loaded.
In a few years, the target property of the CSS3 hyperlink
    module may be
implemented (if CSS3 Hyperlink module as it is right now is
    approved). And
even if and when this happens, you can expect developers of
    browsers with
tab-browsing to give the user entire veto power and full
    control over how
links can open web pages. How to open a link should always be
    entirely under
    the control of the user.

  • Opening a new tab actually opens a new window

I updated Firefox to 29 a few hours ago, and it cause a lot of problems. I just rolled back to ffx 28, but it didn't resolve everything. One thing that happened is that when I open a new tab, at the top it looks like a second tab, but when you look down at the tool tray, you see that there are actually two ffx windows open. If you mouseover the ffx icon (I'm in Windows 7), the two windows pop up. This didn't happen 6 hours ago. It came with ffx 29, but didn't go away with downgrading to 28. This is really annoying. I'd prefer to have tabs grouped within windows. Mostly I have one window open with all my tabs in it, but other times I want to have several tabs in each of several different windows, because that organization works for me. How can I get rid of this?

Too many to list. I don't even remember all the problems I had to deal with. I spent ~3-4 hours trying to get ffx 29 the way I wanted, and half of the things suggested made problems worse or created new problems. The multiple tabs / windows thing was one; another was that I couldn't get the buttons I wanted arranged the way I wanted; another was that I couldn't get the addresses of hyperlinks I mousedover to show up in the status bar (or anywhere); another was that the statusbar itself disappeared w/ ffx 29 & uninstalling / reinstalling the Status-4-Evar extention didn't bring it back (I ultimately had to do the reset ffx trick & start everything over from scratch); another was that I couldn't get the "File Edit ..." to show up & stay (I learned that hitting F10 made it appear, but as soon as I did anything, it would disappear again). I honestly don't remember all of the problems I had, but I couldn't resolve them with several hours of Googling & frustration, and it seemed like everything was problematic. Thanks again.

  • When i open a new tab it continues to open new tabs until i end the session

When I try to click on something in a website and it has to open a new tab to display it the computer continues to open new tabs until i get off the internet

Specifically, which website, which web page, and which hyperlink on the webpage does that happen with?
Typically, when this problem of an endless number of tabs or windows open with a single click, there is something set to open in Firefox that really isn't something which is intended to open and be viewed in Firefox.
It might be a setting in Firefox that isn't proper or it could be the website is mis-configured, or it could be caused by an external application that has messed up a setting for Firefox or in the Registry.
Not related to this problem, but you have three different versions of Flash in your Plugins listing in More System Details.
    Shockwave Flash 15.0 r0
    Shockwave Flash 11.9 r900
    Shockwave Flash 11.8 r800
You should remove the two older Plugins.
