  • Hyperlink/URL in workflow notification

    Hi,
I am modifying the Sales Order workflow. The requirement is that a link/url should be provided in the message that should allow user to open sales order directly from the message.
Please advise on how can we have this functionality through workflow message. I am on 11.5.10
    when I use http://url:3333/OA.jsp?OAFunc=ONT_OEXOEORD&HEADER_ID=786697
in a browser, I could open the sales order form but the order number is not queried which I want to happen automatically.
Thanks in advance for all the help and effort.

Do you know of any standard functionality that opens the Sales Order form and automatically queries a Sales Order? If not, then the form may not provide that functionality. If there is, then you will need to work through the logic in the form to work out how to call the function to query the order.

  • Error with hyperlink to open a form in Workflow Notification

    Hi All,
I am trying to create a hyperlink to open a form in Workflow Notification. I want to open "Prepare Mass Additions" form from my workflow. I am in R12 (12.1.3) and there is no parameters defined for this function.
So i am trying the method given here:
      http://oracleappsnotes.wordpress.com/2011/04/15/accessing-oracle-forms-from-workflow/
Below is a summary of steps from this blog:
Register a new custom form function with a parameter CREATE_BATCH_ID.  Function name is XXFAXMADDS. Its just the seeded FAXMADDS form function, just with the addition of parameter.
Create an attribute of type ‘Form’ which stores the name of the form function and the parameter with which we want to call it. The default value of the attribute is XXFAXMADDS:CREATE_BATCH_ID=&BATCH_ID
In a workflow process include a notification message.
Associate the attribute with the notification message
Personalize the new form function, to add actions to assign the value of parameter to the form field, then goto the Find Button, and click it.
When i click on the link in notification, I am getting the below errors:
FRM-47023: No Such parameter named G_QUERY_FIND exists inform FAXMADDS
FRM-40105: Unable to resolve reference to item PARAMETER:G_QUERY_FIND
FRM-47023: No such parameter named CREATE_BATCH_ID exists in form FAXMADDS.
Why is this error? Why it is referring to G_QUERY_FIND which i have not at all used?
    Thanks
    Manu

    Hi Hussein,
Clearing cache or bouncing application did not help. And now i am noticing that the value of this attribute does not change according to the changes i make in workflow builder.
Also, i tried by updating the workflow attribute from Workflow Admin, retried the notification and tried the link again. No help.
I tried updating attribute to just the standard form function name, still same errors!

  • Adding a hyperlink to the email notification for leave approval

    Hi All,
Is it be possible to have a hyperlink in the email notification that goes to the approver ( for a leave ) so that the approver can click on the link and be taken straight to the ESS/ MSS portal to approve/reject the leave request?
    Regards
    AK

Basically you can modify the standard task too. Of course it is not recommended, but maybe it is not that bad, if you only need to modify the work item text (and the variables are already available in the container, so you don't need to do any additional bidnings and container elements (or do you?)).
Other options is that you take a copy of TS12300097 and a copy of the leave request worfklow template, and then do the changes to these copies. Then you just need to remember to also check the SPRO settings, that your copy of workflow is started instead of the standard workflow.

  • Oracle EBS / MS Outlook Integration Options for Workflow Approvals

My organization is using Oracle Applications 11.5.10.2 and is currently in the process of upgrading to R12.
I've recently been asked to investigate and provide options for stream-lining users' ability to respond to workflow notifications from within Oracle Applications, removing the need for users to have to log into Oracle or send an e-mail response to the workflow notification mailer.
Is anyone aware of any out-of-box mechanisms or 3rd party bolt-on solutions that would achieve this?
For example, rather than a receiving a workflow notification e-mail asking an approver to log into Oracle to approve a purchase order, time card, recruitment request, or expense report, my business users would like to be able to approve or reject the approval directly from within MS Outlook.
One option would be to utilize the inbound workflow e-mail processing (e.g. for the user to send a reply e-mail response back to workflow notification mailer), but I'd like to know if there are any other options - such as an add-in within MS Outlook that would prevent the business user from having to send an e-mail response message.
Greatly appreciate any ideas or suggestions.
    ~Jeremy

The note id's provided above are very helpful for understanding how to control the two out-of-box mechanisms for responding to approval notifications
Option 1: Users click on the "Please click here to respond" hyperlink in the e-mail, log into Oracle Apps, and respond to the notification
Option 2: Users click on the "Accept" or "Reject" hyperlinks provided in the workflow e-mail notification, which creates an response e-mail notification containing the notification_id and response (e.g. accept or reject). The response gets processed by the workflow notification mailer.
My organization currently uses both both options (option 1 for some approval workflows, option 2 for others), and I'm familiar with how to toggle a particular workflow approval notification between these two options.
However, my organization wishes to pursue another option that would involve creating a composite application or enterprise application mash-up, accessible within MS Outlook, that would allow an Oracle apps user to see his or her list of open notifications (within Outlook) and respond to the notifications from either Outlook or our corporate intranet web site. We recently implemented an Identity Access Management solution and have a good link established between each LAN (MS Exchange) user account and his or her Oracle Apps user account.
To my knowledge, there is not out-of-box way to do this and it would require implementing a third-party bolt-on if one exists that would meet this need. Maybe one option would be to create a simple ADF application that would find open notifications in Oracle for the current user and wrap the seeded API's used to respond to the notification.
Please let me know if anyone else has any feedback or prior experience addressing a similar business need.

  • How do I remove an email address from a workflow notification?

Hi, I was wondering if you could help me please. Can you tell me how to remove an old email address from a workflow notification? The person's name and email address have already been removed from the list of Users in the Admin area, but some workflow notifications are still being sent to their email. Any ideas?
    Many thanks for your help.

Thanks Liam, I'd previously looked at the also notify field and it didn't show any other email addresses. This time I clicked on the second of my two options in the Workflow Steps field, and then clicked back on the first one  again, and hey presto, two email addresses appeared! The offending email address has now been removed.
Thanks again for your help. Cheers!

  • OAF page in the workflow notification

    Hi,
I have a custom OAF page and a custom workflow. When the page is submitted, i am invoking the workflow. I was just wondering if i can put the page screen shot in the workflow notification so that the users doesn't have to worry about logging back into the page to check the details. Is there any option?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Including the custom page in the notification is fine. But what i find was generally we will call workflow to send messages to the other person based on the business requirement at that time inclusion of page in notification may not be good.

  • Payables : Manul Hold workflow notification in R12.1.3

    Hi Everyone....
We are using R12 version 12.1.3 and below is the requirement in Payables
Once the Invoice is created, manual HOLD will be applied by the User by opening the Invoice. Business looking for below options
    1. Workflow notification should be sent with HOLD details (business will decide who will receive the notification later)
    2. Notification should have release option and person will fill the release reason and release the manul HOLD via Notification
    3. Business dont want to use AME options here as some existing customization are present in "AP Invoice Workflow"
Please guide me/throw some suggestion, how to proceed at this point....
    Having some questions....
    1. Is AME a mandatory setup for Payables to have workflow enabled/launched?
    2. In "Holds and Release" form, there is a check box option "Initial Workflow"? If I enable this option for any manual HOLD, will the workflow fires when that particular HOLD applied to Invoice?
    Thanks

    Dear,
I am working on the same and would be interested to know what seeded condition would allow to release the invoice Hold? Would appreciate if you could indicate.
    Thank you

  • Workflow Notification Mailer in 11i

    Hi,
I configured workflow notification mailer in 11i,
    (a) only outbound Mail Configuration, I enabeld that
    (b) started workflow Mailer Service Concurrent Manager
    (c) started workflow agent listener service concurrent manager
Once I did the above, I am getting mails from Oracle Alerts..its nice..
But I want to know, the following configuration in workflow mailer wizard
---> Inbound Mailer Configuaration ( IMAP), Can I give same SMTP mail server name in this...
can anybody describe this, what for this configuration ( Inbound Mailer Service)....

Notification mailers can also process e-mail responses from users, using the Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP). A notification mailer uses a Java-based e-mail parser to interpret the text of each message and create an XML representation of it.
A notification mailer uses three folders in your response mail account for response processing: one to receive incoming messages, one to store processed messages, and one to store discarded messages.
A notification mailer does the following to process response messages:
Logs into its IMAP e-mail account.
Checks the inbox folder for messages. If a message exists, the notification mailer reads the message, checking for the notification ID (NID) and node identifier in the NID line.
If the message is not a notification response, meaning it does not contain an NID line, the notification mailer moves the message to the discard folder and treats it as an unsolicited message. For the first unsolicited message from a particular e-mail address, the notification mailer also sends a warning message back to the sender of the message.
However, to avoid sending unnecessary warnings due to bounced or auto-reply messages, each mailer node stores a list of e-mail addresses from which it has received unsolicited mail, and does not send any further warning messages to those addresses. Instead, if the node receives a second unsolicited message from a particular address, the notification mailer discards the message and raises the oracle.apps.wf.mailer.unsolicited event. You can optionally define a subscription to this event if you want to perform some other action in response to the second unsolicited message. For all subsequent unsolicited messages, the notification mailer simply discards the message.
For more Info Please refer Oracle Workflow Administrator's Guide
    Hope it helps!

  • Workflow notification mailer hangs with status starting

    Hi,
I found that workflow notification mailer process had failed to start. I started it manually by selecting the start option from drop-down box. Now the status shows as starting, and has not at all changed. On selecting the refresh option from drop-down menu, the next page errors out as invalid status.
Has anyone faced this issue. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Found the solution. The problem was with the IMAP and SMTP server configuration. Gave the correct names and it started working fine.

  • Workflow notification, where I can control which should send by email

    Hi,
In a old version SRM3.5 (but is a general question for most of versions) customer wants some workflow notifications by email, I have activated SO16 option and is working but now customer wants to deliver only some of the notifications by email and SO16 doesn't allow to discriminate.
The SPRO notification option must be activated but only some of them should be delivered by email.
Do you know any BADI or any other form to discriminate that notifications go by email
    thanks

    Hello Jorge,
Are you talking about recipient notification or approval workflow mail ?
If it is for approval workflow, see my previous response.
On the contrary, if it is about recipient notication, Muthuramam gave you the good way: by customizing, you can define for which document type you allow or not recipient notification.
    Regards.

  • Installing Workflow Notification with Gmail as email server...IMAP4

I'm trying to install notification for Workflow and instructions say to use an IMAP4 type of mail server connection, not just IMAP. This is all through the Oracle Application Manager web interface.
We use a special type of Gmail hosting for our company email and I've tried all kinds of combinations of server naming but the Workflow Notification service never succeeds in connecting and then the server never starts up.
Has anyone succeeded in using Gmail for an IMAP4 type incoming email system?

  • Activating workflow notifications by default

    Hi!
We did all the necessary steps to configure workflow notification emails and when activated, the workflow notifications are working fine.
However, I fear that most users will forget to activate email notifications, since one has to click "Show advanced options" and select the appropriate option in the drop down box upon creation of a new workflow. (It's not possible to activate the notification option after a workflow has been created with notifications switched off.)
Is there any way to default to "always send notification emails" when a user creates a new workflow?
    Thanks!
    Jens

    Hi Patricio,
I'm sorry it took me a while to get back to you. For some reason I didn't receive a notification email for this thread (although I should have) and thus thought no one had posted an answer.
    Speaking of notification emails:
Thanks a lot for your answer and for pointing me to the chapter in the SAP help. In the meantime I spent several hours browsing the SAP help files, browsing the portal configuration and reading a SAP PDF on the subject ("How To... Configure the Univeral Worklist").
Unfortunately I could not make significant progress, since the UWL configuration seems to be scattered all over lots of different places in the portal.
This question may sound silly, but could you please point me to the exact spot where I can configure the Workflow Notification Settings you mentioned?
    Thanks again for your efforts!
    Jens
