Hyperlink to topic in second window

Hello everyone
I am trying to create a hyperlink from a topic displayed in
the Main window of a .chm to a topic that is displayed in a Second
window of the .chm.
In the past I have created a link from a button to display a
topic in a window named About using a Related Topic.htm technique.
I have tried using this technique using the same Related Topic.htm
but it does not seem to work.
There may be a more simple way to do this but I don't know ?

Admittedly, I haven't tried the technique of using a Related
Topics control in RoboHelp 7. Not sure if I tried it in 6 either.
So it's possible that something got broken where it used to work.
Could be the RoboHelp side and it could be the Microsoft side, what
with all the recent patches and whatnot.
Colum, what is being referred to here is using a Related
Topics control to link to a different topic inside the same .CHM
file and have that topic open up in a secondary window you have
defined for the .CHM.
It's really a shame that we have to jump through hoops to do
this. I remember voicing a concern over it and bringing it up in
beta after beta back in the eHelp days. But it was always met with
silence. I guess the development team back then either considered
it was too difficult to code in or not enough folks would actually
want it so as to warrant the change. But I digress...
seandsamuel, if I get a moment during my RoboHelp class today
(and if I remember
) I'll try to test it in 7. I do recall that X5 was
really fussy with it and I had to struggle to finally coax it to
work.

How can I open a second window in iTunes?

When I see some albums in the the iTunes Store I want to check whether I have some of the songs already. The Search function in the Store only refers to the store and not to my Library. So how can I open a second window in iTunes (one with the Store and one with my Library) to make it easier to compare?

My understanding it that was removed from iTunes recently (I still run iTunes 7.5 from 2007), so no, not unless you downgrade iTunes (which is not easy). You can send feedback to Apple about reinstating it but I have yet to see Apple reinstate something that appeared to have been deliberately removed from its software, despite vociferous complaints on this forum.

I attempt to open a second window from the icon but it does not open then when firefox is closed it will not reopen because it is still running in processes but no window displayed until you kill the process and then restart firefox.

I attempted to open a new window from the Firefox icon but nothing happens. I then went on browsing and closed Firefox but was later unable to open it. I checked processes and it was already running but there was no window displayed. I am running Windows 7 Professional.
This is repeated any time I already have the browser open and wish to open a second instance.

I always have many tabs open in FF, and rely on it restoring them each time I close/open it again. Sometimes I'll have a second window open and will close the main window first, losing a record of tabs I had open. Is there a way around this?

Seems like when FF restores a session, it restores the session of the last window open. If you use tabs as a way of keeping a list of things to do or look at, you have to be careful if you have a second window open to close the second window before your main one, or you will lose your list. I'm absent minded though and do this all the time. The only way to prevent this is bookmark all my tabs once a day, but I tend to forget to do even that. Any workaround for this?

When you re-open Firefox and choose Restore Session, by default it picks up your most-recently-open window, and the other windows should then show up in Recently Closed Windows.
The Firefox add-on Session Manager lets you manage how many closed windows and closed tabs are saved, in case it's not enough.

When opening a second window, homepage doesn't open and can't access any other site, stays a blank white screen.

After updating to Firefox 6, every time I open a second window, all I get is a blank, white page. My homepage doesn't open, either, even when I hit the home button. I have to manually type in my homepage address, and then, it's the only address that will show in the address bar, even after I leave the page or open any other tabs. The same thing happens when I open new tabs in the second window. Also, the back and forward arrows, stop, and refresh buttons do not work in the second window. None of the short-cut keys on the keyboard will work with in the second window, either. Most of the time, any page that I go to, in the second window, continues to load, never fully loading.
I even went back to Firefox 5 to see if that would solve the problem, but it didn't. I still have the same issues.
Everything appears to be working fine in the first window.
How can I clear all this up?
EDIT: I waited a few days and reinstalled Firefox 6.0 and everything seems to be working okay.

There's a good chance this is related to a bug that kicks in when you do not have Flash running in any tab and you open a new window to a page that does use Flash. The details are in this recent thread: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/955659 Opening New Windows and Shockwave Flash].
I don't know whether opening a Flash site in a private window makes this problem occur more frequently. Maybe it does because the new window is more isolated from the previous one???

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox Profile Folder that store session data.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

Open a second window from the first one

Hi,
The problem of my application is loosing control when I open the second window, so I know that the problem is the run of the sub VI but I don't find an other possibility to open a second window from the first one knowing that the first sends its vales to the second one. In an other way I want to open two windows simutaneously.
NB: I attached a simple verssion of my application.
Can someone help me please.

When closing 2 windows(with multiple tabs each), system restore does not properly restore the second window's tabs. Is this a bug in the new update/any ideas to fix?

I regularly use 2 windows with multiple tabs each and session restore would work to get them all back, but after this latest update the second window does not restore properly, with the first tab not visible on top(only in drop down menu) and the add a tab button now on the left(instead of right). The add a tab button is not really concerning other than it indicates other problems with the tabs on tab of the 2nd window. Not having the 1st tab visible is frustrating, because I can not move it or as easily navigate. Also, the tabs on top of the 2nd window that are visible no longer have the "x" to close visible unless that tab is selected. I'm assuming this is a problem with the new release/update, since this is the first time I've ever encountered the problem, and I've shut down and restored Firefox a few times to make sure this was a recurring problem and not a one-time deal. Any ideas on how to fix would be welcome(other than perhaps cramming my tabs onto one window or sucking it up XD).

How can I start a second window of a second profile through the command line?

I have two profiles set up, 'default' and 'second'. If both are already running how can I start a second window of profile 'second'?
firefox -p 'second' : opens a new window of the default and,
firefox -p 'second' -no-remote : tells me that firefox is already running.

I don't think that this is possible. 
You need to open this second instance (Firefox profile folder) with the -no-remote command line switch and that makes it impossible to open external links via the command line or via a double-click. 
You can only open a link in such an instance by dragging the link on the tab bar of that Firefox window.

To build a playlist, I would open a newly created one in a separate window, then in the main widow I would roam through the full music collection adding songs to the playlist - by simple drag and drop - as I find them. But this doesn't work when I have to jump between full list view and playlist view in the same window - that kind of confuses the process. I need to be able to see the playlist I am building while I roam through the main list, using two windows to see both lists of songs at the same time. Is this no longer possible in iTunes 11?

Apple never officially comments on these posts, true, and I have no idea if they pay much attention to this very helpful user to user forum set-up here, but they do let you provide feedback at-( http://www.apple.com/feedback/ )-for any product concerns you may have, though they don't respond there either, which I think is understandable. I think they do consider feedback while developing updates and I expect they try to incorporate feedback concerns as they create updates and revisions. But it is probably exceedingly difficult to include all feedback concerns or please everyone all the time.
A long time ago I was complaining to them about how the full music library view would jump to show next song playing every time a new song started and that would take my view away from wherever I had scrolled to while the last song was playing. That was annoying and they eventually fixed that issue in iTunes 11.
I have sent apple my feedback concerns (more than once) about how it really helps to open separate windows to do playist creations and edit, revise, and manage playlists - and how that split window method is not easy to use (linked to in a previous post I made on this thread). The more people they get feedback from asking to be able to open multiple iTunes windows, then the more likely they will bring that feature back. So don't forget to provide feedback (go to feedback link provided herein).
Hopefully it won't take them years to return the multiple window capability in a future update.

After downloading the program and installing it on the second computer, I keep getting this error message: "Apple Mobile Device Failed to Start." This happens when when my IPhone 5c is connected via Wi-Fi and I have clicked on "Trust This Computer." (I have tried to install several times-- It gets hung up when it reaches"Starting Services.")

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:

The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

How can I log into two differant accounts at the same time in two windows without the second window affecting the first.

I'm trying to log into two facebook accounts at the same time in differant windows. When ever I log into the second account in the second window it changes the login in the first window. When I hit home or any other link the first window account has been logged out and logged into the second window account. I tried installing a second copy of firefox in a differant folder that the first but it seems to use all the files of the first installation. If I can get 2 toatally seperated instalations that don't rely on the same history, cookies, cache, etc I belive that will solve my problem. Please help.

Nah, that won't work. Facebook has a feature that gets your IP Address, so as soon as you sign into one on the same computer, it changes the other login for safety purposes (say, someone was on a public library PC. They forgot to log out. Someone else logs in, and it automatically logs them out). You'll need 2 computers to do that.

Hi Doug! I was having the same problem but after reading a lot of answers I found the solution. First of all you need unistall ALL THE SOFTWARE OF APPLE from your computer, I mean BONJOUR, QUICKTIME, ITUNES, APPLE SOFTWARE UPDATE, APPLE MOBILE DEVICE SUPPORT and the other one that is from compatibility with apps of apple, after that you must verify if this folders are removed if they don't then remove it:
C:\Program Files\Bonjour
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\
C:\Program Files\iTunes\
C:\Program Files\iPod\
If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, you'll need to confirm that the following folders have been removed:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\
C:\Program Files (x86)\iPod\
Then if you have ccleaner you can use it to clean all registers left, then reboot and try to install iTunes 11.1.4 again as administrator... That works for me, I hope that helps you too...

Double-click on a playlist, Podcasts or the 'iTunes Store' and a second window will open (without the panes on the left).
Double-clicking again on a playlist will open a 3rd window and so on.

While in transaction CRMD_BUS2000111 -> Opportunity -> select any -> partner tab, when I right click I get a standard pop up.
I want to introduce my hyperlink in that standard pop up.
you should have mentioned that earlier, that's the most complex part!
This is called a contextual menu (for more information, read [SAP Library: Context Menus|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/94/c4a6377cc0c92ce10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm ]).
Adding a menu item (that is not called an hyperlink, or is there something I didn't understand?) there is probably a modification of the standard. Either modifying the ABAP, or adding it to a GUI status of type "contextual menu".
There are number of demo programs, like DEMO_DYNPRO_CONTEXT_MENU, CTMENU_BUILD, CTMENU_DYNPRO...
