Hyperlinking text in form fields

I'm using Acrobat 9 Pro and filling out a form that was supplied to me in PDF format. I don't say anyway to hyperlink words (in form fields) in Acrobat Pro. Is it not possible?

Yes, you can do that if you set up the text field to allow Rich Text formatting. To create a hyperlink, select some text, right-click, and select "Hyperlink".

  • Reader hides filled in text in form fields

    Hi,
I made a form for a client in Indesign and saved in Acrobat > Reader Extended PDF > Enable Additional Features.
When opening in the Reader it hides filled in text in form fields. Only a click in the field will show the text. I want the filled in text be shown as you should expect. Like for example Apple's Preview does. When printing all the text is printed but on first view all the text seems to have dissapeared. Can somebody point out to me where I go wrong?
I hope somebody can help me out.

If the form was ever opened and saved with Preview, it is the likely culprit here. Preview corrupts PDF forms in a number of ways when it saves them. For more information, see: http://kb2.adobe.com/community/publishing/885/cpsid_88564.html

  • Creating vertical text box form field in Adobe Acrobat 10 Pro

I'm very new to AAPro10.  I've serched the forums and internet and couldn't find out how (or if it is possible) to do what I want to do.
I started with a premade pdf form with LOTS of potential form fields. I used the wizard to create a form.  It did fairly well, but  I'd like to replace a column of x number of boxes with a single form field that when i type into it, will orient the text vertically as the data will apply to all the rows in that column.
I've read things that say I can change the orientation of the form field in properties, but when i go to properties, none of the options (that I can find) allow it.
Thanks so much for the help.
    Alexis

Thank you so much.  I feel like such a dunce... it was staring me in the face for the last 3 hours.
    Thanks again!

  • Import Text From Form Field into Subject Line of Email

    Hello,
Is there a way to import text from a form field into the subject line of the email when sending back (attaching) the PDF form?  In other words, there is an "applicant name" and I would like that name to be the subject line of the email.
    I am using Adobe Acrobat X (10.1.7)
If any one has aby guidance or resources online where I can locate this information I would greatly appreciate it!  I have been searching all day but have not found a solution yet.
    Thanks!

Thank you so much for the help.  For some reason I cannot get it to work though.   Now, when I hit the submit button it does not do anything.
Previously, I had the following code under
    ACTIONS>Mouse Up>Submit a Form
    mailto:[email protected]?subject=Employee Application
I removed the above mailto URL and put in your code as a Javascript function. I made sure that my field name matched the name in quotes within the code.
    I used the following:
    var subject = getField("lastname").value
    this.mailDoc({
    bUI: false,
    cTo: "[email protected]",
    cSubject: subject,
    cMsg: "Type message here"
Do you see anything obvious that I am doing wrong?
    Many thanks!

  • Firefox 4: Printing to PDF: Text in form fields can't be selected

I have a problem when printing to PDFs (using PDFCreator, but this doesn't seem to matter): while the text of a web site is printed as text, the content of form fields always gets rasterized so that it is impossible to search or select it. It happens on all sites, e.g. try printing http://www.december.com/html/demo/form.html and selecting "All is well that ends well".
    Details:
    - HW acceleration is off (http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/760923).
    - Happens also in safe mode.
    - in IE9 this issue doesn't appear. In FF3.x it didn't appear as well.
    - using FF 4.0.1
    Thanks a lot.

  • Text in form field disappears when I move to next field

I have a PDF form for doing estimates for my business. I e-mailed it to myself and open it up on iPad. Then I selected open in Adobe.
I can enter data in any of the fields just fine but when I move to the next field the data I previously entered disappears unless I go back to that field to edit.
I tried e-mailing a document to myself and when I opened it up on my laptop computer the data fields are empty regardless of whether I highlight that field.
Can anybody help me out with this problem?
    Thank you, Bob Kroth

    Hi Pat,
Well I'm not sure what doc you were looking at but here is a similar pdf.
I have both Adobe and Scan soft PDF software. If you mouse over the area
where the address would be typed in and click on that area the text that is
there will appear. When you click to new field text disapears. I typed in a
price for mowing and when you click on that field you can see the price. I
have also tried this on Adobe for iPhone and have the same problem.
Sorry if I'm not explaining this clearly.

  • IPad and iBooks will not display pdf text in form fields.

I use pdf forms to create assignments for my students and would like to use the iPad to mark the assignments afterwards. I would use something like iAnnotate to add comments and text freehand but apparently the Apple's PDF rendering engine can not handle complex PDFs. Any thoughts?
    http://support.ajidev.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/63/0/what-to-do- if-a-pdf-does-not-draw-correctly

I haven't installed it, but I seem to remember hearing that the adobe pdf reader app allows for people to enter forms. If that doesn't work, there should be other pdf reader apps that allow for forms to be utilized.

  • Text in form field, it's there, oh now it's not.

I created an electronic copy of a form that contains 84 fields. It has worked quite well for some time. I created it in Adobe X Pro and populate it on an iPad with the PDF Expert App as well as a PC/WIN7 using Acrobat. Recently I turned in some work and a couple of the fields were not visible until they were clicked on. Click another field and the previous field goes blank. I deleted the fields and created new ones and it seems to be remedied. Why do I have to do this and trust that it will not happen again?

This type of thing can happen when the document is saved with the Preview application on the Mac, but it can be due to other things as well. These other things have been difficult for me to determine, but to fix it (assuming the form is not otherwise corrupted as it can be when saved with Preview) you can export the form data to an FDF file and then re-import it into the form. You'll need Acrobat for this. To fix with either Reader 11 (which can save) or Acrobat you can use the script that's available here: http://kb2.adobe.com/community/publishing/885/cpsid_88564.html

  • IPad English handwriting to text in form fields

Anyone out there know of any way that I can  handwrite a sentence on an iPad and have the sentence converted to text and put into the field?  I know there is currently only a built-in Chinese version of this, but hoping that someone knows of a third party app/widget that could provide similar functionality?
Best workaround I have so far is to get a handwriting app, do the text conversion there and copy/paste it into adobe reader, which is definitely not a worthwhile exercise.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Changing text size in form field (rich text formatting enabled)

    Hi all,
I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I've created an interactive PDF with form fields with "Rich Text Formatting" enabled.
My client has filled in the fields and would like to make the text bigger. When right-click, there are only options to change the text style (bold, italics etc) but nothing to change the text size. I'm not keen on disabling and then re-enabling the "Rich Text Formatting" options as the text have been formatted (bold, italics, superscript, subscript etc) and approved, and this will remove all the existing formatting.
    Can anyone help?
    Acrobat 9.4.6
    Mac 10.6.8
    Cheers,
    Tricia

    Thanks so much!! Really appreciated!
Strangely enough, I found the Form Field Text Properties dialogue box by randomly choosing "Hyperlink" in the right-click options. Who would have thought!

  • Expanding Text to fit expanding form field

I am new to using LiveCycle Designer and have embedded some text fields in paragraphs which are dynamic and adjust but now I am having a hard time getting the text within the paragraph to adjust to the form field. Is there a way I can do this? Sorry if this is a simple question.

what you need is flooting field in the running text. You can use as many flooting fields as you need in text. Focus in that direction.

  • Set maximum size in Text Form Field Options for a field in bi publisher RTF

    Hi All,
How to set maximum size in Text Form Field Options for a field in bi publisher RTF.
I have a RTF whch is having a field in that i need to add some validation condition but after adding certain condition in Add help text tab ,it is not accepting after certain length, how i can increase the length to unlimited, please help me on this
    Thnaks

Form fields have some restrictions if your are using version lower than 11g.
They can accommodate only 393 chars. You can add the text in both status bar and help key, which can in total consume 393 chars.
If your code logic is more than that, it can be split into multiple form fields as Avinash suggested or you can use sub template logic and handle coding over there. Again in sub template code can be within/outside form fields.
So there is no option for user to increase the size of form field.

  • Can I add a text form field in Photoshop that can be edited in Acrobat reader?

I design coffee labels with Photoshop then send them off to the printers. The printers then open up a PDF and put in the best before date before printing. At the moment I have to add the text form fields using Acrobat Pro after i've saved the photoshop document as a Photoshop PDF. The problem is if I want to edit the labels at a later date, I have to re-add the text form fields with Acroabat again.
Can I add a text form field in Photoshop that can be edited in Acrobat reader? Is it better to use another program for this task?
    Thanks in advance

As A1's Calculate script, under "Simplified field notation", enter:
    A * 0.8
The same goes for B1 and B, resp.
