Hyperlinks don't work in Visio Web Access

Hi guys,
I need a little help here. I'm using Visio Web Access (Sharepoint 2010). My shapes have 1 hyperlink each. When I publish these files, sometimes it's possible to simple click on the shape to go to the hyperlink, but sometimes it doesn't work at all.
Can anybody help me, please?
Thanks in advance!
Ju Yoko

Hi,
I have a test with Firefox, the hyperlink behind the shape doesn’t work as expected. You can try this workaround:
Edit the page in Firefox and Edit the Visio Web Access web part.
Check ‘Disable Hyperlink’ under ‘Web Drawing Interactivity’ tab.
Then save the changes.
Edit the web part again to uncheck ‘Disable Hyperlink’. Save the changes. Now the hyperliks will work.
I have a test with Firefox and IE9 and this workaround works. I don’t have Google Chrome installed, you can have a test.
Thanks,
Entan Ming

  • Visio Web Access - hyperlinks in Visio drawings always open in new tab

    Hi,
One of our users has developed a large collection of Visio drawings that describe the business process.  When he clicks on a box in one Visio drawing, it will open the next Visio drawing (using a Hyperlink on that shape).
When he uploads these documents onto SharePoint 2013 and uses the standard Visio Web Access application (full-screen, not a web part - so he just opens the Visio drawing), the hyperlinks work perfectly - except, they always open in a new browser tab.
Is there any way to force the shape hyperlinks to open in the same tab when using Visio Web Access?

    Hi  sidasta,
According to your description, my understanding is that the hyperlink of
Visio document  opens with new tab.
It is by default that SharePoint 2013 Visio Service deals with
the hyperlink of Visio document. There is no approach that Microsoft Visio keep the same location when it follows a hyperlink to open a Web page.

    Hi Octopus,
Based on the error message, it seems that the Visio Graphics Service is not started or the Enterprise feature is not enabled.
I recommend to check the things below:
Go to Central Administration > System Settings > Manage service on server > check if the Visio Graphics Service is started > then click Application Management > Manage service applications > check if the Visio Graphics Service application
    is created.
Go to the root site settings page of the site where you got this error, click Site collection features to check if the SharePoint Server Enterprise Site Collection Features is enabled.
Go to the site settings page of the site where you got this error, click Manage site feature to check if the SharePoint Server Enterprise Site Features is enabled.

  • Question about "Get Web Drawing URL and Page Name From" for Visio Web Access

I am trying to get both the web drawing URL and the page name from a list through Share Point Designer 2013, but it doesn´t work.
It looks fine when a do the web part connection wizard. I select from which columns to get the URL and the page name. But on the final web part page nothing happens. It just shows the URL that is selected in the Visio Web Access Web part. I had hoped that
that value should be overrided by the SPD-settings.
    I have googled for hours..

    Hello,
I have now saved the Visio-file in .vdw-format, but it says Visio 2010 Web Drawing (*.vdw). Is there a .vdw-format for 2013? Isn´t that the .vsdx-format?
Still doesn´t work with the .vdw-format, but maybe I am doing something wrong.
    Any ideas?

  • Hyperlink don't work with "download a document"

I use iWeb 2006. My web site <www.xicro.it> have a link with a document to download. This kind of hyperlink don't work on line, but it work when you check the site in local host.
Do you have any answer or any other experiences concerning this problem?
    Thank

    Hi,
You can put the file which you want people to be able to download in a zip. Then put a link on your website to that zip file (normal link) and as soon as you click on the link the zip will download.
In your case that would be xoomer.alice.it/xicro/F537BB88-A61B-11DB-9BB2-000393D45032/xxxxxxxxx.zip
Tanti saluti, benvenuto nel forum di 'Apple support' e spero che funzioni,

  • Visio Web Access web part connection order

I have a Visio Web Access webpart that is currently connected to 3 different query filter webparts.  Here is what the query filter webparts are doing
     - #1 - This is passing in the page name to the "Web Drawing Url and Page Name" connection
     - #2 - This is passing in the shape name to the "Shapes to Highlight" connection
     - #3 - This is passing in the shape name to the "Shape to View" connection
#2 and #3 pull from the same query string variable because I want to highlight AND center/zoom on a selected shape.  Everything works fine if I am already on the default page for the drawing but if I need to have it show a different page the highlighting
works but the center/zoom functionality does not work.
I assume this occurs because it is doing the zoom/center before it changes drawings.  I tried changing the order in which I made the connections so that the center/zoom would come last but that did not work.
How can I make it so that it will do the center/zoom on pages that are not the default?

I have 3 query string filter web parts and they are all connected to the Visio Web Access web part through the browser.  There is no problem in setting up the connections.  The problem is that trying to change pages, highlight a shape, and zoom
in/center on a shape in the same page load does not always perform as expected.  Here is a more elaborate description of what I'm doing:
I have two query strings, "OfficeFloor" and "Employee" which are being passed into the web page.  The query string web part for "Web
Drawing Url and Page Name" grabs the page name from "OfficeFloor" because each of my pages in the Visio drawing represents a floor plan ("1st Floor", "2nd Floor", etc.).  The query string web parts for "Shapes
to Highlight" and "Shape to View" BOTH pull from "Employee" because each shape in the Visio drawing represents
where an employee sits.  So an example request for the page would be "http://www.website.com/EmployeeFinder.aspx?OfficeFloor=3rdFloor&Employee=BobSmith" which would ideally make the Visio Web Access web part go to the page for the 3rd floor and then
zoom/center and highlight where Bob Smith sits.
If the "3rd Floor" page is the default page for the Visio web access then it works fine and it zooms in, centers on, and highlights the "Bob Smith" shape.  However, if the "3rd Floor" page is not the default then it will only highlight
the "Bob Smith" shape and NOT zoom in/ center on it.

  • Using Visio Web Access Web Part to dynamically display visio drawings in document library according to which folder a user is viewing

I have a document library web part in SharePoint 2010. There is also a Visio Web Access Web Part on the same site, side by side with the doc lib. In the folder structure of the document library web part (it is pretty complex and a few levels deep),
each folder contains one and one only Visio diagram. I want the Visio web access web part to display the visio drawing that exists in what ever folder the user is currently browsing. For example.. if the file structure is as follows below and a user clicks
on folder A from the list I would like the Visio Web Access web part to display the visio diagram that lives in folder A. Same for any folder at all anywhere in the structure that the user is viewing, dynamically changing as the user browses the directory.
    Is this possible?
    1.0 Folder A
      1.1 Word Doc
      1.2 Visio Doc
      1.3 Folder a.1
        1.3.1 Word Doc
        1.3.2 Visio Doc
        1.2.3 PDF Doc
        1.2.4 Folder
    2.0 Folder B
      2.1 Word doc
      2.2 Visio doc
      2.3 pdf doc
      2.4 Folder B.1

Got this to work. Made a new data view in a designer for document library. Created parameter and used it to filter the data view. Then I connected the visio's shape data to the parameter and OOB sorting and filtering works as expected.

  • Hyperlinks don't work in Preview

I created a PDF file from a PowerPoint presentation using Mac OS X. My PDF file has hyperlinks in it that work fine when viewed in Acrobat Reader. But I'm unable to get any of the hyperlinks to work when viewing the file with the built in program "Preview" that is part of the Mac OS X operating system.
There are plenty of PDF files on the Internet with hyperlinks that work in both Apple Preview and Acrobat Reader. But the PDF files I create using Mac OS X, don't seem to function properly in Preview.
    Any suggestions?

I found this bit of information here ( http://www.cs.wright.edu/~jslater/mac-tex/mac-tex-intro/mactexintro.html):
    Adobe Reader (I wouldn’t)
    Adobe Acrobat (Not this either)
    Preview (Maybe better)
    Skim (Awesome, my pick)
TEXShop - Works well as a viewer-only with extra tools
iTEXMac - Also works well as a viewer-only with extra tools
    OzTEX (if not using PDFLaTEX)
    CMacTEX(if not using PDFLaTEX)
    MacDVIX (if not using PDFLaTEX)
If PDFTEX is used, any PDF(R) viewer can be used, but hyperlinks don’t work in viewers using Apple’s(R) PDF code (e.g. Preview, iTEXMac, TEXShop, Skim...), so you may want to have Adobe Reader(R) or Acrobat installed to test your hyperlinks.

  • Hyperlinks Don't Work in Preview/Publish Mode - Correct in Design View

I am having trouble with hyperlinks. I've deleted existing hyperlinks, then copied and pasted addresses back in but it is still not working. Any idea why this is happening.
    www.ronbrendle.com/reviews.html
To the right of each album the links for amazon, itunes and cdbaby do not work. They DO work for the Bunky Moon album but I cannot discern any difference.  In Muse design view, the hyperlink addresses are correct when I select the amazon, itunes or cdbaby element.
Also - when I copy a page URL from this site - it pastes the title tag. For example:
www.ronbrendle.com/reviews.html becomes "Brendle is a monster bassist." JazzTimes
    Please help if you can.
    Thank you,
    Deanna

  • Hyperlinks don't work in fillable pdf forms

I have a question for you folks and am hoping you can help me.  I am using Adobe Acrobat X Professional.  I want to create "fillable" pdf forms which include hyperlinks.  When I create a pdf form and "Save as" a "Reader extended PDF" and "Enable additional features" the hyperlinks don't work.  I save the document this way in order to produce a fill-in pdf document.  However, if I save the document as a regular pdf (i.e., not reader extended/non-fillable pdf form) then the hyperlinks work.  Any ideas how I can get the hyperlinks to work in a fillable pdf form?  Thanks!
    Chris Quarto

    Hi Michael:
I'm sorry...I wish I knew what "autorecognized links" were.  :  (  As I mentioned in my reply to David, I created the hyperlinks in Microsoft Word before I converted the Word document to a pdf.
I have resolved the problem and posted my step-by-step solution a few days ago, but for some reason I don't see it in this forum.  It kind of goes like this...to get hyperlinks to work with fillable pdf's:
    1. Create Microsoft Word document and save when done.
    2. While in Word, click on "Acrobat" on menu bar (assuming you have installed Adobe Acrobat X Pro on your computer) and "Create pdf;" confirm that hyperlinks work and close document.
    3. Open pdf document with Acrobat Pro and selected "Create pdf form."
    4. Edit the "fillable" parts of the document (e.g., make all fields/text boxes 10 pt. font size...I wish there was a way of setting the default so you wouldn't have to manually do this for each field/box, but haven't figured out how to do that one yet).
    5. Close form editing.
    6. Select File --> Save as --> Reader extended pdf --> Enable additional features.
    7. Save file
    8. Close file and re-open to verify that hyperlinks and fields work/are fillable.
That's my solution.  There's probably an easier way to do this, but it works.
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Saved Pages document as PDF. Now hyperlinks don't work

After saving my newsletter in Pages 09 as a PDF (Print>Compress as PDF) some embedded hyperlinks don't work. Strangely enough, the links to an e-mail DO work, but links to a URL DO NOT. Why is this and what do I do to overcome this problem?

That's a fairly long thread I linked to. Did you get all the way down to this post with a screenshot? I see that others had the same problem you do & it took them a couple of tries to get it working. I would be nice to be able to see what you're doing (or not doing), but we have to make do with words & screenshots.

  • Hyperlinks don't work, please help!! :(

    Hi all,
I've created a new website and I would just like to know why my hyperlinks don't work? The facebook link used to, but ever since I posted the text under the menu icons in the middle of the site and then publish it won't activate any of them! This is really frustrating so I'm really hoping someone has an easy solution to this...
    My URL is www.nurburgringnow.co.uk

It looks to me as though you have made your navigation menu using images places without a shape?
If so, what he is saying is that this shape has got into your footer and is covering everything else and the whole page, which is why your links will not work. If your links are covered by anything, then they won't work.
In iWeb select show all so you can see where things are on your site. Shorten your footer area and I would suggest that you remove the shape and then place it in the body of your site. To get your links to work you need to ensure that you send the shape to the back.
