I get a pop-up with "URL" An error occurred in sending the command to the application.

Well, I've had to downgrade to Firefox 4.0 in order to get hyperlinking back.

Hyperlinks from Outlook 2010 don't work anymore (Firefox is my default browser)

Since I installed IE 9 I can't use Hyperlinks in Outlook anylonger (Firefox remains my default browser!). I tried already
a) set IE 9 default (Hyperlinks works) and switch back to Firefox (Error message and Hyperlinks don't work)
b) "Start" + R with any link doesn't work either c) delete in the registry HKCU\SOFTWARE\Classes\FirefoxURL\ & HKCU\SOFTWARE\Classes\FirefoxHTML\
c) Updated Firefox to Version 4 and things are even worse (Firefox crashes now)
But nothing works, can someone help me?

Is it using yahoo as its search engine, or switching to yahoo's browser. If it is using yahoo as its search engine, you can change that in settings>options>search and at the top it will show you a button that you can click to choose your default search engine.

You're welcome. You might want to check for other PPC apps to avoid being caught off guard again. If you go to the Apple Menu and choose About This a Mac, then click more info, then a System Report, and finally Applications (or Software I can't remember) you can see how each application is coded. Anything that has PPC next to the mane will no longer work.

Updated to Mavericks:cd/dvd drive no longer works since update. How do I fix this?

It worked until I did the update. How do I fix this? Can I delete the update and if so how do I do that? or

Play/pause mouse button no longer works since update?

I have a mouse with several buttons, one of which I customized to be "Play/Pause". This was great for iTunes -- if I was in Firefox or something, I could click it and immediately play/pause the song.
However, with the new version of iTunes, this button no longer works, neither outside of iTunes nor inside. The button still works with other programs that it used to (eg, VLC), so it's specific to iTunes.
My hopes aren't high, but is there any chance of solving this?

BBC radio - listen live no longer works since updating

I can no longer listen to the radio through the BBC live service since upgrading to Firefox version 5. It just hangs on loading.
It works fine in Safari so I know it's a problem with Firefox rather than the bbc's website.
The problem seems to be related to webkit.
Does anyone have a solution?

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
* Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
* Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Shortcuts no longer work since updating iphone

Updated to the latest software, now I'm unable to use my shortcuts anywhere. Any ideas or solutions?

This is what I did step by step and it worked like a charm... I had an iPhone 4 when I did this a few days ago. I have documents and data ON in iCloud...
1. write down or take screenshots of all existing shortcuts
2. delete all shortcuts
3. backup to iCloud (I think this clears all shortcuts you have stored in iCloud)
4. go back to settings-->general-->keyboard... You may notice one or a few generic shortcuts pop up on their own. The one that popped up for me was OMW (on my way)
5. re enter all of your shortcuts and phrases
6. when done, back up again to iCloud (stores your new shortcuts)
I restarted my phone. Shortcuts still worked. I just got a 4S and restored from the iCloud backup mentioned in step 6 and my shortcuts worked on my new phone.

Right click functions no longer work since update

I'm active with Pinterest, and when I would see a photo I wanted to add to a board, I was able to right-click it. There was a choice "Add This", which provided a range of sites -- including Pinterest.
The Add This right-click function is gone since the update. How do I get it back?

My iphone 4's text, keypad and alert tones are no longer working, also Ipod no longer plays without headphones plugged in. Please help!!

Since about a month now my iphone 4 text/alert tones, Keypad and lock tones and also the music are no longer working. It is not onTone 'None'. When someone calls me it rings no problem but no other sunds seem to work. It only vibrates.
If I go onto itunes from my phone it also doesnt play the clips of music. Has anyone else had this? I have reset, restored, updated and nothing has worked or helped.

No the mute button isnt on as it still rings for calls.

Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried, until the problem is resolved. Some of these steps are only possible if you have control over the wrieless router.
Step 1
Turn Wi-Fi off and back on.
Step 2
Restart the router and the computer. Many problems are solved that way.
Step 3
Change the name of the wireless network, if applicable, to eliminate any characters other than letters and digits. You do that on your router via its web page, if it's not an Apple device, or via AirPort Utility, if it is an Apple device.
Step 4
Run the Network Diagnostics assistant.
Step 5
In OS X 10.8.4 or later, run Wireless Diagnostics and fix the issues listed in the Summary, if any.
Step 6
Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Enter the name of your wireless network in the search box. You should have one or more "AirPort network password" items with that name. Make a note of the name and password, then delete all the items. Quit Keychain Access. Turn Wi-Fi off and then back on. Reconnect to the network.

Make a note of all your settings for Wi-Fi in the Network preference pane, then delete the connection from the connection list and recreate it with the same settings. Select Join other network from the Network Name menu, then select your network. Enter the password when prompted and save it in the keychain.
Step 9
Reset the System Management Controller (SMC).
