Hyperlinks in FM don't show up in PDF

Hello,
I created hyperlinks in a FrameMaker file, but when I converted it to PDF, the links were not included. (Note: I do this conversion by first printing to a postscript file, and then running the Distiller on the .ps file.)
Is there something else I need to do in FrameMaker? Or can I create the hyperlinks in Acrobat (I have the full-blown Acrobat program.)

The way to get your links working nis:
1) Use the Save As ... (PDF) or in FM80 Save As PDF.
This automatically invokes the correct AdobePDF printer and the FM functionalities are processed into links
2) When printing to a PS file (ordinary print), make sure you choose a PS printer (or Adobe PDF) and then select "Generate Acrobat Data".
In the FM Help you can get a more in depth explanation of which FM functions are transferred into what kind of PDF links etc. (Search for:"Hypertext commands in HTML and PDF documents"
And while I am at it: check out www.microtype.com. At Microtype you'll find the undisputable best way of getting FM functions into cool PDF's (forms, jumps, pop-ups, videos etc.).

Barcodes don't show up in PDF format

Hi Tim, Everyone...
Well recently I started the testing to print barcodes in the documents and reports where we need them.
I did all the needed set up (Tim, your posts for Barcodes 101 and 102 are very helpful): I upload the font, set the family fonts... I even set in the template properties my fonts and all.
HOWEVER... when I try the PDF version, the barcodes don't show up... for EXCEL, HTML, etc, they do, but no for PDF.
Any thoughts about what could be going on?

Hi,
Something to check is that the Font Family Name in the Font Administration when you create the font in XMLP, MUST BE exactly the same as the name of the font when it is selected in MS Word. If it is not, then XMLP will not know what font to pick up.
Please check that this is correct in your situation.

Special fonts don't show up in PDFs

I created some free printables for teachers and homeschoolers a while back that use special fonts (wingdings). The fonts are Open Source fonts from DaFont.com. Some of the fonts are not showing up as they should. They come up as plain letters instead of the wingdings. I created the PDFs in InDesign CS5. What can I do to fix this?

Is the fonts embeded when export to pdf?
Also on acrobat check document properties>fonts
If the fonts it's just on small area or line you can convert to outline (select text and from type menu>create outline).

Some songs don't show up on iPod, but they are there

I have an 80GB iPod classic. I have all my songs in iTunes, and I have manually synced them to my iPod. When I view my iPod through iTunes, I can see all the songs and play them. However, when I look on my iPod directly, some songs don't show up when I browse by Artist, Song, etc.
The only way to play them on my iPod is to add them to a Playlist, and then they are accessible. However, if I want to listen to Eminem, for instance, I want to just browse to it in the Artist area.
The songs do have all of the appropriate info, and I have tried Restore and still nothing. These songs used to show up on my old, original iPod, so I am for a complete loss. Please help!

This isn't foolproof but there are usually two things that contribute to songs not appearing under Artist on the iPod, both due to information either in or missing from the Get Info>Info tab against the song in iTunes. 1) the song has no album name associated with it or 2) the song is marked as part of a compilation.
If tracks are missing an Album name (as mentioned above) in the Info tab, this information needs to be filled in. The no album one is a bit quirky as the songs will appear under certain circumstances but the simplest remedy is just add None or Miscellaneous in place of a title. Highlight a song in iTunes that you know is not appearing correctly on your iPod. Right click on it and choose Get Info and click the Info tab (alternatively choose Get Info from the File menu), if "Part of a Compilation" is marked untick it and afterwards update your iPod, you should find it now appears as normal. Compilations are stored in a separate folder in iTunes so the songs don't appear inside the normal Artist>Album folder which may be why this happens.

I recently bought an Xbox 360, I have been using my Ipod to listen to music but some songs don't show up in Xbox playlist, particularly the music I have bought and downloaded from Itunes music store, Is it some kind of protected format, what can I do to fix it, any help would be great, thanks

Have you tried deleting the songs from Settings?
Settings -> General -> Usage -> Manage Storage (not the iCloud link!) -> Music and then click Edit to enable you to be able to delete.

Songs can be removed from your iPhone by tapping 'Songs,' then swiping the song, then tapping Delete.
Remove a song from iPhone. Tap Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete. The song is deleted from iPhone, but not from your iTunes library on your Mac or PC, or from iCloud.

Iphone and ipad don't show up in left column of new iTunes

I recently installed the new iTunes version.
I don't understand how to "manually manage music and videos". How do I copy a file of music or an ap from iTunes to the iPhone or iPad? They don't show up now in the left hand column that lists the playlists. I don't see how to drag something to the device.
Both the iPad and the iPhone appear in the upper right corner of the iTunes screen. I can click there and see the summary of memory use and options on the device. I can also see both of them as disk drives in "my computer." I can drag photos from the folder that shows up there onto my computer.

They don't show up in the left sidebar or you don't see the left sidebar? Press Ctrl+S

Songs don't show up in artist menu, but show up in playlists

Well recently I've had a problem where songs I've added (from a program that takes songs off internet radio) do not show up when I go to the Artists menu and click on an artist. However, they do show up in my Recently Added playlist. Can anyone give me some help on this? Thanks if you can.

Once you add a second album name for that artist even for a single song, ALL the rest of the songs should now show up under that artist, even those without album names.

Songs don't show up in Library after a drag and drop

I want to put some music on my daughters networked imac.
( right now we have her music 'shared' across the network) I want her to have more control of her music so she can make playlists etc (she is getting a nano unbeknownst to her )
When I drop mp3 files into her iTunes folder they don't show in her library.
Am I going about this the wrong way??

Now I see the problem. I did not read your first post thoroughly enough.
You already wrote they show up in the iTunes folder.
iTunes doesn't recognize songs that are added this way.
The most convenient way would be to copy the files to a folder on the desktop and after you're done, to drop that folder on the Library icon or the Library in iTunes.
If 'Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library' in Preferences>Advanced>General is checked, iTunes will copy those files to the proper place.
Afterwards you can trash the contents of the folder on the desktop.

ITunes Plus Old songs don't show up for upgrades

I occasionally stumble across previously purchased songs, for example "Time of the Season" by the Zombies, which are now in the plus format. They don't show up in the "Upgrade My Library" area in the store.
There are also lots of cases where old cuts have slightly different listings and don't match up to what's in my library.
Is there anyway to get Apple to allow me to upgrade to the Plus versions of these songs?

Ever since iTunes began, there have been problems where the person ripping the music isn't very accurate as to the MP3 tags, and later the titles themselves.
For example (just making this one up) "Yellow Submarine", 3minutes, Beatles Yellow Submarine can change to "Yellow Submarine", 3 minutes, THE Beatles.... and then it won't show up as a match.
You will find LOTS of these examples if you search on titles you bought more than a year ago, and even though the song is there, it will say "no longer available" just because someone typed the title differently.

Songs don't show up in iTunes ... but iTunes still thinks they're there ...

I've lost songs. They don't show up in a search, they don't show up when I scroll through all my songs, and they don't show up in the browser, but when I try to import them from the original CDs, iTunes asks me if I want to replace the files. And they're in my iTunes file directory (I keep it organized). So, they're where they're supposed to be. I've tried to add them to the library, and they remain invisible. It's the oddest thing.
Does anyone else have experience with this? What would you suggest?

This might be a quick and dirty method.
We're trying to force iTunes to rebuild properly.
With iTunes not running. Make a copy of the library database file (iTunes Library).
Try deleting the iTunes Library file. Start iTunes. Does this then show the missing tracks? To get the original playlists back you can import from the original xml file that you saved.
If you need to get back to the start point just delete the newly created database and .xml files and go back to the originals.

I thought I resolved it, but the problem came back! And this time, re-starting Muse didn't help.
I was creating a vertical line to separate the sidebar from the main area, and when I extended the line down to where the footer guide is, the page started to expand and the navigation bar at the top started growing, while the links disappeared again. Now all links from the master page are again missing from every page but the master.
When I undid it, the navbar went back to its normal depth, but the text links in it did not return.
Any thoughts on how to fix this?
Also, it really wasn't my intention for the navigation bar to grow vertically as the page grows. Is there a way to prevent that?

that is odd! that should not be happening.
Are you syncing your songs right off of itunes itself? because it should be syncing over to the ipod however it is listed in itunes.
